Reviews for Christie Lodge

Review 1:The bed was awful, the room smelled like a smokers room converted to non smoking. There was a lot of noise from inside the hotel and the outside highway

Review 2:Overall the facility is nice.

Review 3:they put us in a room right on the indoor pool. The floor wasn't level and we had puddles in front of our door. They could have asked us what kind of room we would like

Review 4:The location in the mountains was great

Review 5:old carpeting smell in the hallways, the room smelled terrible like a musty/cleaning solution, no breakfast

Review 6:nothing...not a place for summertime travel

Review 7:Everything was great, staff was excellent, room was awesome, beautiful view, pools & hot tubs were very clean and well maintained. I highly recommend this property

Review 8:The front desk questioned us up and down. It was an uncomfortable experience at check in. The construction made the building difficult to navigate.

Review 9:We loved how close the City Market is to the facility. We made our own breakfast and were on our way!

Review 10:I was not impressed with the hotel at all. We stayed there because it was recomended to us. We were not allowed to check in until 5 pm when we got there at 3pm. They booked us in the last room in the wing that was under construction. Our door was right next to the construction entrance. They started construction early in the morning. The hotel is really out of date and the layout of the rooms are awkard. Would not recomend this place at all.

Review 11:The staff was really nice.

Review 12:Facilities built in the 70's and not much updating. Horrible shower heads, strange layout, beds are awkward. Staff was not very friendly.

Review 13:Clean property

Review 14:The beds were terrible! We didn't ise it but the twin bed is no twin bed. It would only be of use for a small child.

Review 15:Location to who we were visiting

Review 16:It would be really great if you could provide a humidifier for the rooms or - even better - just overall humidification that is constant in the rooms. We woke up PARCHED at least twice a night while there. Of all the comforts you could provide, that one would really be awesome. Also, some of the plumbing fixtures in our room had issues.

Review 17:Information was available and easily accessible so I could find places to eat, buses to ski-areas, ski and board rental places, and evening leisure activities. Everything was clean and well-cared for.

Review 18:Bedroom is located next to front door which allows noise from atrium to be heard. Also when people walk by you can hear every word and can hear the slamming of doors from neighbors. Hot tubs location. Lodge is located between roads, next to highway.

Review 19:Shuttle service. Grocery store a few minutes away.

Review 20:What's not to like?

Review 21:It was very convenient with a ski bus stop out front, great parking, and close to Beaver Creek and Vail. The staff was awesome and very friendly. Not all places makes you feel welcome in that area. Price was less than some of the chain hotels for our weekend. We are always last minute travelers with poor planning skills. They made our trip amazing.

Review 22:Wifi might as well not even been advertised. I was successful using it one time for about 5 minutes than kicked off for the whole week.

Review 23:Room was nicer than pictures and location was great.

Review 24:Loved everything about this place! The staff was friendly and very helpful! The room was clean and we had a hot tub right outside our room. We enjoyed our own personal fireplace in our room as well as the large, beautiful copper fireplace and lounge downstairs! They had a ski store right by the lobby where we rented all of our skis, boots, poles, etc. and we even received 20% off because we were staying there. They had some great children's activities as well!

Review 25:The bathroom shower was not good and the temperature between bedroom and bathroom was hard to regulate. If warm in the living space it was too hot in the bedroom!! The hotel really smells of chlorine.

Review 26:The kitchen was well equipped and the living area quite comfortable. The location of the hotel is great.

Review 27:- Mountain view equaled a 10ft high wall - Kitchen: only a fridge (with someone elses leftovers) and a microwave - Room very badly soundproofed - Fireplace but no firewood - Wlan connection poor at best - Bathroom tiny and dark - Next day no new toiletries

Review 28:- shuttle to ski resort stopped right in front of lodge

Review 29:no restaurant in hotel for breakfast odd configuration of rooms This is an old hotel, it is comfortable. Not fancy

Review 30:location price ease of getting to slopes kitchenette

Review 31:Great location, with shuttle just outside to take you to the slopes. Great friendly stuffs. Had some mix-up in cost of stay at first, but managed to sort out with little trouble.

Review 32:This is obviously a winter ski lodge. We were there in summer. A portable AC unit was sitting in the fireplace. It was simply not capable of cooling the unit comfortably. It took a whole day for the unit to cool down, so the first night was a really warm one. The AC unit had a humidity duct that went out to the balcony, and the balcony outdoor carpet stayed wet all the time from this drip.

Review 33:Staff, especially the concierge staff, was the BEST. Maintenance was constantly monitoring the facilities. This was a very convenient location at a reasonable price for summer activities in the area. A bike rental business, Venture Sports, is in the facility, and offers great service. Bed and sleeper sofa in unit were comfortable, and unit was clean. Outdoor pool and hot tub were nice.

Review 34:Delapidated furniture and interioir design of the late 70s.. AIRCONDITIONING unit was a complete failure , did not keep the room cool..not bicycle friendly as we could not use elevators to transport bicycles...will not use this place again!!!

Review 35:Close proximity to everything in Avon.

Review 36:The smell of Subway permeates the main area, the shower heads are aerated but not the kind with good water pressure, the slightly frustrating kind.

Review 37:The space was like a mini-condo and utilized the space well. Late checkout was permitted by housekeeping, and once I did checkout, it took less than 30 seconds.

Review 38:The indoor pool was only big enough for about 5 kids.

Review 39:The Staff was super friendly and the rooms were great as well as the location. I cant wait to go back.

Review 40:The room everything in general kids loved it everything was so close pool was awesome jacuzzi was great ! Thank u o and i always cook pancakes for my kids and i got to do that also with the kitchenetts it was awesome just like home!

Review 41:Good affordable place with good facilities and friendly staff

Review 42:Temperature in the rooms was difficult to regulate.

Review 43:We liked the price.

Review 44:old, run down, horrible bed

Review 45:Location

Review 46:Suite a little small, beter pics or description would help.

Review 47:Great value. Nice to have real water glasses. Staff friendly.

Review 48:pool and hot tubs

Review 49:Bedroom totally lacked windows and ventilation. Do not serve breakfast.

Review 50:Location, quiet

Review 51:The room was warm

Review 52:The efficiency with the living room and kitchen

Review 53:bed position was uncomfortable for two to get in and out, bathroom needs update .

Review 54:friendly staff

Review 55:no negative comments!

Review 56:Location!

Review 57:Smell from phone 20 coming into the unit after I requested to be away from subway for that specific reason

Review 58:Convenience & price

Review 59:Lack of Elevators, too many stairs, layout of overall facility

Review 60:Pools, Hot Tubs, Sauna, Restaurants Nearby, Ski Shuttle, price for room-amenities

Review 61:The indoor pool, hot tubs, friendly staff, shuttle service

Review 62:Beds being so close to hallways.

Review 63:Location and staff.

Review 64:When we booked we assumed that smoking would be allowed on the balconies, only to find that we had to walk a long distance to do so.

Review 65:The location of the bed! Squeezed Into a small area up against a wall.

Review 66:The room was too hot. The hotel is way too big!!

Review 67:I could walk from the hotel.

Review 68:I saw clean glasses sitting rim down on the carpet in the hallway while the room attendant was cleaning a room.

Review 69:I liked the many activities available to guests (pool, ping pong, etc.)

Review 70:They need to update their facility book. It indicated that they had DVD rentals and a Mexican restaurant in the hotel. Neither of which were true.

Review 71:Decent location and space for the price.

Review 72:I stayed for three nights and while my room had a view it was located above the Subway restaurant so when you'd left the doors closed for long periods of time the room smelled of Subway bread which is quite unpleasant. Also the shower head leaked and gave an inconsistent temperature.

Review 73:Rooms were very big considering the price and everything was very clean.

Review 74:We didn't get our Duraflame log! Partied too hard to remember calling the front desk for it. Brrrr

Review 75:We have stayed in many mountain resorts from 1-star to 5-star. The Christie is always our top choice for Beaver Creek stays. Laid back atmosphere with just the right amount of awesome.

Review 76:Noise in the early eve where voices echoed in the atrium. If you are European and in a different time zone you will be going to bed early so this could be an issue.

Review 77:Good location close to both Vail and Beaver Creek. Plenty of parking, cosy rooms

Review 78:Sofa bed was not very comfortable.

Review 79:Location, shuttle bus to skiing, ski rental store in lobby, convenience to restaurants within walking distance, grocery store close by, friendliness of staff, just everything.

Review 80:Wish we'd had more time to spend at the hotel. It seems like a great place.

Review 81:Unfortunately, we got in very late on a night a snowstorm was in the forecast. The woman who checked us in was not only friendly, but informative, pleasant and thorough regarding information. We loved the setup of the room, esp. the separate area for the couch, the kitchen and the fireplace. Everything was great, and anything that wasn't was solely b/c of our lack of time. We hope to visit in the future, but we live in NH and don't get to Colorado much. We'll definitely stay if we get out that way again.

Review 82:The night people at the desk were not much help. It was super late and Ihad to go out to the parking lot and get my license number for them. They made me call housekeeping myself to request a late check out, butthen housekeeping did not answer and I got in a phone message loop. Ifinally got someone at the desk to make the call for me and it took himless than 5 minutes. Isn't this part of their job?

Review 83:It's a beautiful facility and the rooms are elegant and comfortable.Would be great for a multiple night stay with the kitchen.

Review 84:i didnt like the smell in the room plus there were problems with the sink in the bathroom and the electrical socket in the bathroom didnt work also so we could not dry our hair to get ready for the day !!!

Review 85:It is a pretty loud hotel for people who plan to get up early to ski. It was also spring break so that could have been the issue as well.

Review 86:Wonderful location!! So close to beaver creek ski resort! Great value for the area!

Review 87:We loved Christy lodge!! Very reasonably priced, excellent accomodations, close to the slopes, friendly staff, clean. We've actually stayed there one other time & were just as pleased. The only thing we're surprised about is the lack of 2 bedroom accomodations, however, the pullout worked fine. We also brought an air mattress. Thanks for a great time!! We'll definitely be back.

Review 88:Too many fees and taxes. Loud heaters. Walls between rooms are paper thin. I could hear everything on both sides.

Review 89:Helpful, friendly staff. Room very clean and comfortable. Proximity to restaurants, markets, pharmacy, etc. Ease of transportation provided by shuttle busses.

Review 90:The rooms are a bit "tired" and could use a facelift. We had a toilet that didn't flush on our arrival. Which was repaired, and a tub that would not drain well. Our balcony doors would not open. I feel you have MANY pluses, just some attention to detail and updating could make all the difference. Thanks for asking. We wish you well. (Below) I would recommend with some disclaimer.

Review 91:The layout of the room was perfect since I (mom) was traveling with my adult son. The hotel design is very interesting to say the least. The multiple doors that did not lead to anywhere made us curious. The staff is your strong area. Very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Location was also a plus. Well maintained, but old.

Review 92:Had everything we needed for a reasonable price. A comfortable, practical choice. We would choose to stay here again.

Review 93:Great location and facilities.

Review 94:Just minutes from Beaver Creek ski area and just a few miles from Vail. Excellent mountain views. Good restaurants nearby.

Review 95:Relative loud inside the hotel

Review 96:Christie Lodge is in AVON so you are in the middle of Beaver Creek and Vail

Review 97:I totally loved the location of this hotel. I had a wonderful skiing time with my family and hope to be back

Review 98:Small beds Shower with lack of pressure/ qty of water

Review 99:Too many escalators

Review 100:Location Front desk personnel Amenities Room In-property ski rental store Price

Review 102:Very comfortable, very practical to reach Beaver Creek

Review 103:- Sofa bed was really really really bad quality - Internet was slow/unstable

Review 118:I did not like the under dated lobby

Review 119:I loved the heated pool and hot tub.

Review 120:I liked having a suite rather than just a hotel room and I did not need an entire condo set up.

Review 121:No plates or bowls in the appartment

Review 122:Value for money
