Review 2：The Owners / staff were very friendly and helpful and we would definately stay there again. They even managed to help track down a mobile phone we left in a taxi, nothing was too much trouble for them.

Review 4：I loved the rooms and the attention to detail of the cleaning staff. The rooms where cleaned to an extremely high standard every day. The breakfast was great lots of choice and always well stocked no matter how busy. It's really well placed for access to the town. I'd recommend this hotel for people staying in the area for holiday or business, also for people transiting north on the motorway. The hotel is well placed for both and has a petrol station and retail park within walking distance.

Review 6：The staff were very friendly and helpful. The evening meal was delicious. We had steak cooked medium rare and it was done to perfection. Some people might take exception to the relatively small choice on the menu but it is better to do a few things well than a lot of things badly.
Review 7：The shower door do not stop the flow of water underneath so the bathroom can get flooded unless a towel is sacrificed to keep water in. Also, maybe a hairdryer and a safe should be added to each room.
Review 8：The room was clean, spacious, with good lights and many wall sockets so all mobile, camera and laptop chargers were in use :-). The toilet was clean and bright. The staff was friendly and very helpful.

I also found the staff working there to be very friendly - if it was to borrow glasses for the room or to ask for extra eggs and bacon at the end of the breakfast they were very helpful. The breakfast was good. I did not try the dinner there. Wifi was included and simple to connect to. Although the room was located on the ground floor, it was never noisy.
Review 12：The shower was badly designed so water was running all over the bathroom floor. Quite far by foot from the city center. Even if the price includes a very good breakfast, it's still overall an expensive place for what you get (no mini-fridge, plastic glasses, no kettle...just very basic)

Bar in hotel looked like people in neighbourhood use it as local cafe, not so nice to find that 'drunk' people when going to room to sleep (perhaps it was a one time happening).

Review 65：We booked this hotel because the information on line indicated that itwas close to the centre of Middelberg.This was so that we could leavethe car alone for a few days and walk to the centre. This was not thecase as the walk was at least 20-25 minutes. On our arrival at thehotel, having already driven into the centre of Middelberg to gauge thedistance, we expressed our feelings of annoyance to the receptionist whowe believe was also the joint owner, and she tried to make out that wewere exaggerating this issue of distance from the centre, and offered usthe free use of two bicycles for our stay; as much as this was athoughtful way of trying to alleviate the problem, it still ignored theclear misrepresentation of the hotel's location. We stayed 4 nights. Onthe first two nights we took drinks to our room, and when we arrivedback late afternoon of the next day the empty glasses were still there.By the night of our third day this represented 4 dirty glasses left inour room. On the fourth night we booked out that evening as we wereleaving early the next day. We were once again asked how our stay hadbeen, this time by the proprietor, and we repeated our complaint thatthe hotel was not located as described in internet information. Theproprietor seemed unable to accept this and argued for a good tenminutes while sorting our bill.He produced the hotel's web page andshowed it to us but this was clearly not the version that we had used asa guide to our booking. He described how much refurbishment he had donesince recently taking the hotel, and on the issue of the inaccuracy indescribing the location, he kept repeating "there is nothing I can doabout the location", seemingly unable to understand that the informationwas clearly wrong and had misguided us into booking this hotel. I wasgiven a glass of beer as compensation and apology.

We had the chef's daily special for dinner on Thursday night and were disappointed to find the kitchen was closed when we returned on the following Sunday evening. However, we would certainly use the hotel again.
