Hotel Diafan sells fast on our site. Situated in the Old Town of Baia Mare, Hotel Diafan features a 600-year-old wine cellar offering a variety of Romanian wines. The restaurant serves Romanian and international cuisine and provides a unique view of the town's old centre.

Review 1：we have been here several times. cleanliness seems to get worse. ... and don´t ask for croissants for breakfast. they won´t have them anyway

Review 3：Spirit for detail. Room was OK, but level of cleaning and maintenance is space for improvement. This is unfortunately case in many of EE countries and based on my opinion lack of management control of housekeeping job execution. Too slow breakfast service.

Review 5：Hotel is in an excellent location facing the old town square. Staff are very friendly and eager to assist. There is complementary car parking at the rear of the hotel. Rooms are clean, equipped with all facilities required, and quiet. They serve a basic, but very good breakfast. The hotel has atmosphere and character. Great hotel to stay at in Baia Mare.

Review 6：It was a bit hard to find the hotel as it has no conspicuous sign and the main entrance is on a side street. Even though our GPS navigator pointed us to the right place it was hard to find. We had to put the sheets on the bed ourselves (on the sofa bed), even though we had warned the staff in advance about our child. The windows of the appartment open on a blind wall. Maybe other rooms have a better sight, directly on the Liberty Place.

Review 7：Close to the centre (actually, right on the main place) We ate for diner and breakfast and both were enjoyable experience. We had the appartment and it was clean and comfortable.

Nothing against the persons as people (they were nice and friendly) but as a touristic operator employee cannot ask 5 times what you ordered 1 hour ago...so.. Sunday morning, very nice weather, enjoying the outside area, order given after waiting around 30 minutes (as guests we had the breakfast included, so we did not wanted to stress too much and waited, enjoyed the weather, and so on). Meantime due the long waiting time and wrong drinks at the other tables also, many of the people left. We remained with 2 tables and total 6 guests. On the clock we ordered the drinks and food already since 1 hour and ... not even a glass of water or coffee. The food was blamed to the kitchen area and the ”waiter” asked us again what we ordered after one hour!!! Meantime, he asked us several times exactly the same, we assured that he noted down everything when we ordered. He tried to be nice and very slow in his own style. In the end after almost 1 hour we received some water, and after additional 40 minutes some food (and still order not complete because they did not had everything what we ordered, part of the dish was forgotten, or when asked that something still missing he just ran to give the order again to the kitchen… the menu was a la carte). The professionalism is missing by far and they are not ready to deal not even with 4-6 people.

Review 23：The great part of this hotel is the location. Is located in the historical center with direct exit on the square. Perfect for evening outs or enjoying a drink in the area. There are many restaurants with outside sitting areas. In the week-ends, especially evenings, the hole square area is crowded. But, nice atmosphere. I recommend overall the place in the hope that the problems mentioned will be solved by the management.

Review 24：There is no air conditioning and no mosquito net. The personnel is young, they are not nice to customers and totally unexperienced for their job. The food is quite expensive, not tasty and mostly overcooked. It is a pitty to invest so much in a building, and miss little details, which would make the place truly great.

Review 104：The owner was unhelpful and unkind, gave us a much smaller room that stated in the booking (we rented a suite and got a room with a couch) , and we had to do serious negotiation to pay a fairer rate. Hospitality is not a term they know in there.

Hotel Diafan was a very pleasant surprise - beautifully decorated - LOVED the granite floors and stairways. The lobby café with fireplace was a warm, welcomed relief from the brisk cold. Their food was great! We stayed in the suite and loved the space and view of the neighborhood. The staff was excellent - available 24 hours - even in the wee small hours for our departure. :-)

Review 120：Internet did not work in the room (as promised), and the crew were notvery interested in trying to help.Air condition in all room were promised on the website I used for booking, and that was one of the main reasons I chose this hotel. Arriving, it turns out my room does not have air condition, they say this is not for the single rooms, so they want me to pay extra to change the room, which I thought was not fair because I had a confirmation which promised aircon. After making a call to "the boss" I was moved without any extra to pay, to a room with aircon (even though it used some hours to make the room cool).
