Reviews for Hotel Sverre

Review 1:My purpose of staying was to have one calm and romantic night, so I chose any hotel. Hm... We couldn't move TV, so we could watch it while in the bed. Oh and talking about bed... It kept going away, because it was two twin beds.

Review 2:I really liked the old look of elevator! :) And staff was really nice!

Review 3:There was no hairdryer and the bus of the owner blocked our car in theparking lot.

Review 4:Everything! Location is perfect, breakfast is very nice, staff is niceand rooms are amazing.

Review 5:To be improved - Room felt cramped especially the entry and no good space for cupboard or to keep suite case. Breakfast had no change. Everyday same bf gets boring. The TV did not have USB connection. Could have been better. A microwave in the room could have been better for travelers like me.

Review 6:Overall a decent stay. I liked the location, very convenient and near to my office as well. Internet was excellent.

Review 7:The wi-fi was a little inconsistent. The TV in the bedroom didn't have the same channels as in the living room so couldn't finish watching the movie in bed. Only thing missing was a balcony.

Review 8:Comfortable, clean and friendly hotel in the center of town. Easy to get to and close to everything. Use public transport, cabs are outrageously expensive. Good variety breakfast you didn't have to get up at the crack of dawn to enjoy. Friendly and helpful staff. We had a suite which was very good value for money and worth it when traveling with a young child. Would definitely stay here again.

Review 9:Lamp in room which was permanently on dim but fluctuated from almost off to quite bright. It was like trying to sleep with a lighthouse in the room!

Review 10:Staff were helpful. Breakfast good if you're early but eggs seemed like they were 2 hours old one day.

Review 11:Prices are far higher than you'll pay in most of the rest of the EU, but it's Norway

Review 12:It's a great location in the centre of Sandnes. Staff were unobtrusive but helpful

Review 13:Nice clean hotel and good option if you are visiting the Stavanger area, looking for a cheaper hotel option and have a car. Nice launching point for Preikestolen. Breakfast was decent and there is a kitchen area to prepare your own meals.

Review 14:no outside area like a terrace or courtyard for relaxing, some noise from the street during the night, small rooms with no facilities,

Review 15:the location the friendly staff late checkout the price

Review 16:breakfast layout seemed a bit dis organised especially around the waffle machine.refills of hot dishes seemed very slow.

Review 17:good receptionist very pleasant and helpful. coffee at reception. spacious ensuite excellent location.

Review 18:Velké vzdušné pokoje a hezké vybavení velmi příjemná koupelna, slušné snídaně, velmi čisto, uprostřed města, blízko do Stavangeru. Jsem náročná a opravdu jsem byla spokojená

Review 19:Noisy air con unit outside window on East side rooms. Better to get a room overlooking church.

Review 20:Breakfast! Best breakfast we've experienced in 10 months of travelling! Great size room, airy & light. Clean & very friendly staff. Great place to stay! They have guest kitchen which was very handy.

Review 21:Didn't like the fact that it had a night house with loud music...

Review 22:Breakfast; very convinient hotel for every pocket; nice view of garden and church.

Review 23:stay was pleasant. rooms are so clean and spacious. Breakfast was too good with so many items. Overall stay was fun and relaxing.

Review 24:family room is a bit small for 6 people

Review 25:location, staff friendliness, great breakfast

Review 26:If price is reasonable-----.

Review 27:Staff is friendly. The quality of breakfast is good.

Review 28:Only 4 free parking spots for hotel guests.

Review 29:Good breakfast, quck check in.

Review 30:No minibar or refrigerator is equipped.

Review 31:Friendly staff, breakfast, location.

Review 32:Cold "hot" breakfast

Review 33:Friendly helpful staff

Review 34:smack in the middle of town. Great, comfortable beds Good selection at breakfast

Review 35:small beds un-spacious rooms

Review 36:Location

Review 37:A bit noisy

Review 38:The breakfast

Review 39:The view.

Review 40:Paid only kr 1145 for a familyroom. They is cheap! Nice room. Nice breakfast.

Review 41:The courtain in the bathroom could be changed by a acrlic box and the heater exchange was producing noise.

Review 42:Localization, staff, breakfast...Very nice place to stay

Review 43:The hotel is rather old and low standard, though it is clean and tidy. No real double beds at all (I asked), only two single beds put together. Rather bad wi-fi. Same breakfast every day, some food looks old (from the day before). Staff not very attentive, took me an hour to check out since she was busy in the kitchen. It was very difficult to find hotel entrance, no visible signs.

Review 44:Location is perfect, in the middle of the city. Staff is very friendly. Wi-fi is free. Good variation for breakfast, both hot and cold food, and many things are local/ecological. Big new windows, and most important no neighbours in front of the room. 24 hour reception desk and free computer in the reception hall. Free coffee or tea in the reception.

Review 45:Internet connection did not work for the 2 days. Broken hairdrier.

Review 46:The place in town, comfort and cleanliness was very good also breakfast very generous.

Review 47:Hotel room was very dusty due to building work , brought on lots ofastma and sneezing , also when we arrived we were not booked into thehotel by booking.com and had to have the room alocated while we waited ,not sure why but glad there was a room free even if it was masked by allthe building works

Review 48:The bed was very comfortable

Review 49:Too little TV chanels for foreigner During my stay it was renovation and changing windows, so noise was starting from 7:00 in the morning, ttoo early!

Review 50:The hotel was undergoing a full external facelift, with scaffolding all around it and disruption at the entrance to the hotel. This made the hotel difficult to see when first arriving and gave it a messy entrance that was difficult to negotiate wheeled suitcases into. We were not warned of this building works by either Booking.com or by the hotel on confirmation of the reservation. Very noisy building work started at 7am on weekday mornings (right outside our bedroom window), despite the hotel posting signs inside to say that it wouldn't start until 9am. The interior of the hotel was shabby and dirty, with many replacement windows and doors lying around the corridors causing some obstruction. The staff around in the mornings during breakfast were off-hand and at times rude when asked for missing elements of the breakfast or to refresh used food and drink. All in all iit was a very unsatisfactory stay.

Review 51:The location of the hotel was excellent, being only one block away from the pedestrianised main shopping street in Sandnes, and only a 5 minute walk from the train station and other shopping/entertainment facilities. The hotel was reasonably priced for such a central position.

Review 52:Window would not close. This is the second room I have stayed in Sverre where the windows are defective. One of them on floor 5 had a defective safety catch that could mean someone falling from the window. I very much doubt the safety inspection done by the authorities in this area.

Review 53:The Sverre is the only reasonably priced hotel in Sandnes. Anywhere else than an oil town this hotel would be half the price.

Review 54:Although conveniently located, finding it at 1am was difficult when we arrived as the neon sign was not working.

Review 55:The staff on the 24 hour reception desk were very friendly and helpful, had a great command of English. The room we stayed in was large and clean and the beds were very comfortable, important after 2 full days of trekking. The bathroom and a great shower and was clean. The hotel and free wifi which available throughout the premises. The buffet breakfasts were amazing, with opportunity to buy a packed lunch for treks and excursions. It is conveniently located in Sandnes if you are doing the treks to Preikestolen and Kjerajbolten. The hotel had parking facilities or there was room on the road to park.

Review 56:Drains in shower did not function, flooded after each shower. Squeaky bathroom door. These things were not fixed for the remaining three nights after pointing them out. The last day, a Sunday, the breakfast seemed to be understaffed.

Review 57:Easy access by car to Stavanger, mountains, islands and beach. Free coffee or tea in the reception. Quiet room and free internet. Friendly and helpful staff - e.g. filled our thermos with hot water every morning. Plentiful and good breakfast buffet.

Review 58:Very noisy hotel, and impossible to sleep due to the noise from people and cars passing in the outside street. However, this disturbance throughout the night was nothing to the horrendous noise created from the nightclub that is located next to the hotel. The music and vibrations from club were ongoing until 3.30am. No warning or information on this at time of booking. Complete lack of sleep and expensive room- cannot recommend this hotel.

Review 59:Breakfast choice.

Review 60:Lack of parking, basic yet clean room. Sandnes is not a happening location but a decent stop-over

Review 61:Staff was very friendly and morning buffet was pretty good

Review 62:1)The bathroom/facilities were not up to standards. Shower to small and very congested . 2)The two beds were located adjacent to each other but not fixed. Excluded intimacy as they split/separated if you tried to approach your wife....

Review 63:everything except for the bathroom which was too small and not a 4-star hotel worthy

Review 64:It's the minimum you can wait about an hotel but we can't complain about it.

Review 65:The price we had for the room with the ability to go with a car to the hotel.

Review 66:Breakfast was a bit hit and miss with the quality of the food. Whilstthe hotel is central for Sandnes, there isn't much to do in Sandnesand even the shops shut early on a Saturday and are closed on a Sundayso we had to go to Stavanger for things to do/see. The hotel is abit dated in the main and the bathroom needs replacing. The comment inthe description about the 'shuttle bus' is inaccurate as it isjust the normal service bus in town and it doesn't run on a Sunday.

Review 67:This was good value for money for Scandinavia. The hotel is centrallylocated for Sandnes and close to the bus/train stations. The decorin the room was quite modern.

Review 68:Booking.com's website did not match up the sites 4 person room with the reservation. The hotel honored it, but Booking.com only showed two persons. This problem needs to be fixed.

Review 69:Buffet breakfast

Review 70:it would have been nice to have a room a bit larger as our 18 year old daughter was in the roll away bed...

Review 71:breakfast was super everyone was very nice and welcoming very clean and even changed towels when we did not expect it

Review 72:There was nothing to dislike about the hotel.

Review 73:The location is within walking of everything...dining, shops, train, bus. The hotel had a lovely included breakfast with all you would need inclluding egss, bacon, waffles and beyond which had a good time frame from 6:30 - 10:OO AM which was very accomodating.

Review 74:Old hotel, seems no renovation since 70s. Room interior is terrible. Everywhere dust and smell of cigarets. Bus shuttle to airports is nothing else than city bus #9. Only option to get to the airport early morning is taxi(~380NOK).

Review 75:Close to train station.

Review 76:They charged me twice on my credit card! Am in the process of obtaining a refund now - hopefully it will an easy process. Outside of this, an excellent hotel for a very reasonable price.

Review 77:Great breakfast spread in the morning. Extremely friendly staff. Room was very clean.

Review 78:It served it's purpose which was an overnight stay before a flight homefor a reasonable price

Review 79:Comfortable clean rooms but fairly basic with just a tv. Bathroom wasadequate and most importantly clean with ample towels. Breakfast wasserved from 6.30am which suited us as we were catching an early flight.Mainly continental breakfast which was lovely and fresh with lots ofvariety. There were hot sausages beans and scrambled eggs. Though theydidn't serve dinner their sister hotel just a few blocks away servedlovely food.

Review 80:The only problem is that it is located just next door to a night club so at weekends you can hear the music until 3.00am in the morning. I would not recommend a stay there at the weekend.

Review 81:The rooms were nice and comfortable.

Review 82:The location is not clear in the related information. It is not far from the station in fact but it is a problem if you had the wrong direction.

Review 83:the breakfast is ok and the room is clean. Thanks for the service of the hotel staff.

Review 84:Room was dull but functional. TV Station selection poor, especially there is not much to do in town in the evenings.

Review 85:Location close to Stavanger without the complexities of a city.

Review 86:I booked a triple room (3 single beds) for a weekend away with mates tofind that the room was a standard room with a double bed. Luckily we hada car and after alot of talking we were able to stay at hotel 5 minutesby car away and were given separate rooms. The following night I statedat the Sverre while my mate started at the other hotel, The room neededa major refurbishment but it had free wifi and a decent flat screen tv.The hotel did its best to accommodate us through the stay but out was aninconvenience that I would prefer not to have.

Review 87:Very expensive for a room with non-functioning equipment, cold, andminmum inroom facilities. Accomodation is very limited in and aroundStavanger and Sandnes; to charge ~ £175 / night for this level offacility is obscene.

Review 88:Quiet

Review 90:Room small

Review 91:Breakfast excellent

Review 92:Rebuilding activity

Review 105:Koselig personale, fine rom

Review 106:Good Price and central location

Review 107:Very helpful staff. Excellent breakfast. Free clothes washing facilities. Free parking.

Review 108:Very comfortable room! Cute city!

Review 109:I booked the hotel considering it as a 4 star. The facilities provided does not live upto the 4 star standands.

Review 110:Very close to Stavanger.

Review 111:I did,nt like at all that I have been cheated that this is 4 stare. Not at all

Review 112:just staff. Nothing else. Who stupid give this hotell 4 stars?

Review 113:The light coming in the windows the view of the church the generous size of the room.

Review 114:Loud noises, probably from theheating system, early before 6:00 in the morning

Review 115:The breakfast is very good! Rooms are modern, quiet and clean.

Review 116:Roadwork in town centre

Review 117:Location of the hotel and atmosphere

Review 118:Location Food ok

Review 119:The Hotel is nothing more than a 3 star, the quality/cost ratio isclearly bad

Review 120:Basic hotels with good breakfast and great location for the money.

Review 121:Overpriced, dated.

Review 122:Friendly staff.

Review 123:No food available at arrival after 9 pm. No hot water in the morning.

Review 124:This place needs a make over. Small rooms, bad cleaning. Breakfast was disappointing (yes they had egg & bacon, but no bacon)

Review 125:Good location.

Review 126:Staff, room, breakfast, location.
