Reviews for The Claridge Hotel
Review 1:No microwave in room, very small workout room and outdated
Review 2:Jacuzzi in rooms, refrigerator, keurig, bed, the vintage feeling of the hotel, pool was nice and clean.
Review 3:Bed was to soft for our liking, it wasn't terrible. Room needed a little updating. Tiles in the shower were old and the grout lines had some mold spots.
Review 4:Location, location, location. staff was very friendly. Breakfast was very good and reasonable as far as the price.
Review 5:I violes a tope. My cochee dais to bring,, 453.00. I fer to hotel ala toe wey fría anda couldnt because hieden costa. I calles severa times to fin hoy supuestamente bring altogether. No indo. Giggles usarte. Ruines My ahora vacay
Review 6:Elevators are a little slow. Waited a long time a few times for them to come. But everything else was great!
Review 7:The light bulb and the smoke detector were not working in the room. I called the front desk goblet them know of the problem. The maintenance man came right away. The maintenance man was very nice, polite, very professional and very helpful. He fixed all the issues right away. The front desk staff was very nice, professional, and very helpful. We are at the 20's restaurant which was very very nice. The host was a perfect gentleman, and our waitress was extremely nice and professional. I will stay at this hotel everytime I visit Atlantic city in the future. I drive a Ford F-250 pickup truck that does not fit in the other hotel parking garages. It could fit, but the other hotels put a clearance bar which I can not fit. They force me to valet park, and I do not like or wish to valet park ever. I was extremely happy that this hotel did not do this, and I was able to park with no worries. Thank you for everything! You definitely will be seeing me and my friends in the future.
Review 8:The service received at the hotel restaurant they kept us waiting for over 15 minutes no staff was visible at the reception desk to seat us stood their 15 minutes .
Review 9:Did not like the attitude of the person working the parking. When I was checking in the guy wanted me to park in the garage first to check in because I didn't want to use the valet services. I left my car in front of the hotel anyway with others in the car while I checked in. I ended up getting the valet after I checked in. I dealt with same guy the entire time. The day I was there, I asked the guy what time I need to have the car out. He said 4pm but out the hotel is noon. I told him thanks and that we checked out but was going to eat breakfast then come back to play at the casino for a while. He said if I left I couldn't come back. I asked why since he said it's til 4pm and that's what I'm paying for. He insisted so I took my car. While at breakfast I called the hotel and told them what the guy said. I was told I should be able to use the valet until 4pm as long as I let them know. I brought my car back and the guy tried to give me a hard time but ended up taking the car. Very port customer service on his part and his representArion for the hotel and the valet services.
Review 10:Location was awesome
Review 11:There was a cookie on the floor in my room when we checked in. Hmmm...
Review 12:Stayed for New Year's Eve. Enjoyed everything about it! It was not my first stay at Claridge, and certainly won't be my last.
Review 13:The elevators were slow. The customer service was very poor. My family felt like they were in a institution. On New Year's Eve the TV was loud and they would evict us. I spent over $500 for the room. I will never go back.
Review 14:I think every room should have a small table and 2 chairs. It made room service and dining less enchanting on New Year's Eve.
Review 15:The Claridge Hotel has been renovated and the décor is very lovely. The linen and bedding was very comfortable. It also has history, dating back to 1930
Review 16:We stayed at claridge for three nights. The following morning my brother discovered bite marks on his fore arm . The following day he had numerous bites around his abdomen and his arm. We checked the bed and linen. The linen was was stained with dry blood.at the end of the bed.. It appeared liked it was there for some time...We notified management and he apologized for the inconvenience. Changed our room and paid for lunch.. But yet I was still charge full boat of 783. There is no doubt in my mind that the room had bed bugs.
Review 17:The atmosphere. Also the comfort
Review 18:Nothing
Review 19:I loved that we were greated with such happiness and positive energy by the staff. My husband and I had a reservation cancel on us with another hotel and they were quite rude at the other hotel. We left the Chelsea Hotel extremely upset in AC because they gave our room away with a confirmed reservation with zero remorse. Leaving us stranded when we found the Claridge. The Claridge saved our NYE night.
Review 20:They cleaned up our room the following day but they gave us a dirty towel with a lot of stain, the wash cloth is not really white.
Review 21:They had a very nice decorations specially in the lobby.
Review 22:I bit more walking to either the Boardwalk or to Pacific Ave than I would have prefered with a bad leg
Review 23:Everything at the hotel and the staff was fine. It was the "grand dame" of Atlantic City
Review 24:The beds were a little hard for my taste. Probably me just being picky. My husband had no complaints.
Review 25:The hotel was beautiful! The staff was very friendly.
Review 26:It was close to everything, staff was very friendly and helpful. Liked the entire decor which was elegant and seemed reminiscent of a long ago time when hotel first build a one of a kind gem.
Review 27:The people at the front desk rude as hell they need improving....our rooms ac broke the mechanic was awesome 100* to him but the rest of ur staff are shitttt. but evrrything else was excellent
Review 28:Renovations in the hotel. Some of the ballrooms were a little creepy.
Review 29:Very nice staff, very clean hotel, jacuzzi suite was super relaxing. Nice history behind the hotel.
Review 30:From the time we got there to the time we left to ask the staff for and fresh sheets and blankets and products it was never given to us
Review 31:The view was great like the old school team
Review 32:Our bathroom was our only issue in room 1001,when we first turned on the water it was brown like it had not been turned on in a while and also the sink as well as the shower did not drain well at all. Nothing major that we absolutely couldn't deal with.
Review 33:Room was very comfortable, loved the bed and pillows! All of the Christmas decorations in the lobby were beautiful, very festive. We will definitely be back to stay at the Claridge Hotel.
Review 34:I will only be staying here only in A.C.
Review 35:Attention email n friendly staff, quick problem solving, beautiful restaurant, nice bars, vantastic accommodations, great food n drinks.access to casinos without having one in the hotel. Nice views of board walk.
Review 36:Bedroom was run down. Swimming pool was dirty (hair floating..) and there was only cold water in the swimming pool showers.
Review 37:The hotel was conveniently connected to various Casinos and it had a relaxing swimming pool area.
Review 38:Room was a little dark, needs more light or stronger light bulbs.
Review 39:The Gatsby tub room was amazing. The room/tub was clean and the tub was great to soak in at the end of the day. Breakfast from the restaurant was delicious and responsibly priced. Walkway to Ballys Casino was very convenient especially when going back to the hotel late at night. Dont pass up this hotel!!!
Review 40:Remodeling going on, difficult to find staff. No toilet paper or tissue in bathroom.
Review 41:Hotel Location was great, staff was friendly, when you could find someone.
Review 42:The staff tried to make us leave at 4am on account of a noise complaint. The 4 people in the room had all been asleep for over an hour so the noise complaint would have been impossible.
Review 43:When we arrived we were given keys to our room right away and told it was ready but the poor cleaning lady was still inside cleaning so we had to wait in hallway for a few minutes. Not a huge thing considering we were given a 2:30 check-in
Review 44:Jacuzzi was fabulous. Shower needs updating!!! and missing molding in room- 1100 Valet parking very convienent and location also convienent. Staff was a pleasure to deal with.
Review 45:The first great thing about the hotel was it being a non-gambling property. No think smoke and seedy atmosphere permeating everything from checking in to eating in the restaurant. The second best thing was the hotel's location - right on the boardwalk and easy access to the main parts of Atlantic City without sacrificing comfort and elegance. The last part was the overall atmosphere and the attentiveness of the staff. Upon entering the lobby, we admired the décor and elegance and were further impressed by our room - a lovely king-bad room with an ocean view overlooking the park. We couldn't have been happier. I highly recommend this hotel which provides a pre-casino feel to Atlantic City. Well worth it.
Review 46:Paid extra for view which was very poor. Room wasn't serviced till after 4pm.. Never removed tray from room service .. No bellhop available at 9am..said they would check on it and never responded
Review 47:Location
Review 48:We had a problem with the people in the room next door to us. Security was called and the problem persisted. When we spoke to the person at the front desk she only said "oh". We will not stay here again.
Review 49:Our suite was incredible. Hotel was secure and clean with very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is attached to Bally's, The Wild Wild West and Ceaser's so you never need to go outside especially at night or if the weather is bad.
Review 50:Didn't enjoy some of the staff attitude, nor the fact I was given a room which someone was still in then given another room which didn't have a shower curtain in room and the mattress was horrible.
Review 51:I like the fact it was cheaper then the surrounding on board walk hotels and the place is nice inside.
Review 52:The check in process was slow and the receptionist was cold. The bathroom was small. They need a microwave in the rooms. The windows need cleaning. A lot of walking to get to your car.
Review 53:The location was great. The bed was comfortable.
Review 54:Priced higher than its worth -should be lower- weekends would be busier if rooms weren't so much to stay- Has a strange entry path from garage
Review 55:Staff is nice - easy - convenient location
Review 56:The Hotel is Old needs major upgrade Atlantic City is dying! The Boardwalk needs to be upgraded modernized the beaches are left undeveloped very very sad!
Review 57:We didn't like the parking fee. They should give the parking for free for hotel guests like the Resorts.
Review 58:We liked it because it's centrally located to all the places we want to go to.
Review 59:Nice and clean, but bathrooms could use updating.
Review 60:Nice, old style hotel. You can walk to Ballys and Caesars through indoor corridors. Nice art gallery in hotel.
Review 61:Everyone was very nice and helpful. The room was very clean and the beds were very comfy. Great staff great hotel my next trip down I'll be going backnow to the claridge.
Review 62:Just wish the beds were a bit bigger. Hard when your a couple and it's a tiny bed.
Review 63:The staff were very friendly, great service. Rooms serviced every day and clean towels as well. Swimming pool was amazing too. Great place.
Review 64:Wish Club 11 was open when we were staying, could've been because of time of year.
Review 65:Loved how comfortable our room was. Location was great, so close to the boardwalk, casinos, shopping and restaurants. Nice and quiet, literally a getaway from the chaos.
Review 66:Ice machine broke , tv volume had mind if it's own had to keep taking bsttery in and out, bathroom really small
Review 67:Quiet, connected to Balleys , great resteraunt .
Review 68:We waited in line and front desk staff acted like they didnt care much.
Review 69:The restaurant staff were phenomenal. They made my partner and I feel like a million bucks and bent over backwards to make us feel at home.
Review 70:There was mold on the bathroom tile wall. Bathrooms need remodeling to put that extra touch to Claridge.
Review 71:I liked the lobby, room new carpeting, bedspread and overall newness.
Review 72:-
Review 73:Hotel was in the middle of the city. Very close to outlets. 2 minutes walk to beach. Our purpose of visit was walking around in the city and shopping so we found everything what we need in the hotel
Review 74:I love the vintage look of the hotel beautiful. Rooms were comfortable and clean and the view of the beach was beautiful. The location of everything was convenient we did not have to drive all weekend.
Review 75:problem with upstairs water comming into room and having to move in the middle of the night. The price for parking and all of the taxes for the room. the price for food in the hole area.
Review 76:good location & free wifi. The price of gas as we drove to AC
Review 77:Renovations have been going on for over a year now. Too Long. Open up the theatre and lounges. Add a small casino. Lord knows you have the room. Hate policy of holding back $100 deposit for damages. I am 51 years old come on!
Review 78:Hotel was conveniently located and connected to Bally's Casino. Old world charm.
Review 79:No bad experience, but some of the clean up staff were very noisy outside our room a few times. Also, the hotel could use some updates in the lobby and lounge areas.
Review 80:The grand and vintage look of the hotel. The pool area was charming! Things were clean and comfy.
Review 81:We had to leave a short while after arriving due to an emergency (we hadn't even used the room) and they wouldn't give us a refund at all.
Review 82:The hotel seemed fairly quite which was a change from the big casino hotels.
Review 83:On Monday there was NO hot water in our room. The front desk told us that we were the only occupants on our floor and the system is very sluggish when guest are few. It had been years since we had a COLD Shower. Brrrrrr
Review 84:We really liked our stay at the Claridge. The room was comfy and the overall atmosphere was very pleasent. The price per night was excellent.
Review 85:I expressed a need to check in early and check out late to Booking.com. I was told that this was not a problem. This note was never covayed that to the hotel. Was not eligible for $60 discount because I booked through 3rd party. Had to pay $20 extra for extended check out. Not a problem but would have liked to know that in advance.
Review 86:A bit dated but this is the charm of this hotel.
Review 87:The hotel took us back to rhe grandeur of the fifties and sixtees, one could really imagin the the rat-pack would walk in the doors. Great value for money and located right on rhe boardwalk.
Review 88:When I chose the room I asked for an ocean view room. I got the confirmation paper but when i waited in line and went to the front desk I was told there were no rooms with an ocean view. I was very disappointed and angry. We were given a room later the next day. Poor communication of the staff to myself.
Review 89:i liked the location. It seemed to be in the middle of the boardwalk which was nice. It also wasn't too far from the outlets.
Review 90:My friends and I had a good experience, the location is great walking distance from boardwalk close by for shopping experience. Second time staying at the hotel and i would definitely stay again
Review 91:The location was great, one small quiet street from the boardwalk. We had a room on the 18th floor which was nice and quiet. Everything was renovated.
Review 92:Somewhat dated hotel and Saturday night stay pricing was very expensive. Bathroom supplies were not well restocked for the second day stay.
Review 93:Convenience of the location to Boardwalk Hall.
Review 94:The security guard, and the over night clerk. Very nasty and rude. The had horrible people skills.
Review 95:The lobby bar was very nice. the bartender was great. The clerk at the fron dest she was very helpful.
Review 96:We had to come back to the front desk twice because our keys didn't work. It wasn't a problem with the keyhole, but with the magnetic strip of the cards we got being worn out. When the front desk staff gave us brand-new keys, it worked.
Review 97:I liked a lot of things about this hotel. I do like the nostalgia themes throughout, from the paintings in the room to the decor. The staff were very friendly from start to finish (make sure you pick up a cookie or two if they have them!) Rooms were clean, appeared to be well-kept, and did not smell chemical-like when we entered. Wifi was very zippy, which is great.
Review 98:There were some problems with my room. Our tub didn't drain, and the maintenance guy was kind of snotty about it. I had to ask for extra towels, even though they knew there were 4 of us staying, and we had a late check out but our keycards reset at 12pm. The front desk staff were kind of snotty when I had to come ALL the way back down to get a new keycard. They hadn't told us the cards reset.
Review 99:The hotel was remodeled and had adequate amenities. I liked that it wasn't a casino hotel, but it was easy to get to the casinos. It was a very relaxing hotel.
Review 100:Elevators super slow! Smelled musty throughout hotel! Ice machine broke on our floor!!
Review 101:Bed very comfy. Room very spacious! Coffee machine on the room! Front desk staff & Valet staff super nice!! Location to outlets and Boardwalk!!
Review 102:The room. The smells
Review 103:I liked the location but the hotel smelled and our room for the price was not up to par. I expected much more from the pictures online
Review 104:It's close to other casinos so you can visit other places and the rite aid store down the block can be useful especially when staying with young children .
Review 105:Wi-Fi did not work on my laptop, but it works great on the mobile phone,
Review 106:Swimming pool is awesome and the staff is super gentle and helpful. I would really recommend the place to my friends who want to stay at Atlantic City.
Review 107:air conditioner unit was very load and turned on and off every 10 to 15 minutes. Had to pay $16.10 a day (3 days)to park our car.For what they charge for a room, parking should be included.
Review 108:comfort of bed
Review 109:I understand it was labor day weekend, but still a bit pricey.
Review 110:It was very clean and in the center of the boardwalk, so nothing was more than a 10 minute walk.
Review 111:Front desk staff only tell you about the pool and restaurant in the hotel. I didn't know there was a night club or lounge inside the hotel. Maybe they should hand out a brochure with everything the hotel has to offer..
Review 112:Room was very clean.. Comfortable bed everything worked pool was wonderful. Bartender Jerry at the bar serves the best drinks. We will definetly go back to the Claridge! Small but cozy..
Review 113:Unable to contact front desk and housekeeping for complaint
Review 114:View was good but coffee maker was not working and tub was clogged and table in the room was missing
Review 115:Talking to one front desk staff member, very abrupt and unfriendly. Ice machine broken on the 9th floor was rather inconvenient (9/4 - 9/7/15). These were the slowest elevators ever!!
Review 116:close proximity to Boardwalk was good.
Review 117:There was a moment when my guest and I went to go to the pool and astaff memeber approached us in an aggressive manner asking if we wereguest and what room number we were in. We're three guys fromBrooklyn and we may look a little rough around the edges but that'swho we are and we don't deserve to be judged or stereo typed as weare paying respectable guests. It was clear the staff member wasuncomfortable and narrow minded and that is what prevents me from givinga full positive score whe asked about the staff. Not cool at all.
Review 118:The overall feel and atmosphere. The classic appearance sets itselfapart from the rest and that is something I can really appreciate.
Review 119:Slow elevators. Our room didn't have an air conditioner!
Review 120:Walking distance to everything beach, casinos, shopping, etc. Didn't need a car after it got parked ($15!). Staff was really nice! Good decorations throughout hotel and gallery was nice to see pic attached.
Review 121:Had to call for towels which never arrived. Had to find a maintenanceman to take me to the linen closet. The wait for the elevator wasincredibly long.
Review 122:It's very nice hotel ,just need to use up all the empty spot . And put a little more entertainment.
Review 123:I like that is was very quiet , and very nice .
Review 124:When we first got there, we had to change the name on the reservationbecause the original person had lost their wallet. The front desk clerkmade it a hassle and told us to wait until 4pm (it was 3 pm when we gotthere). When we went back up she told us we had to call the bookingcompany. Booking.com allowed us to change the info on the website (veryeasy and convenient by the way!) and we got a confirmation emailimmediately. The clerk still didn't want to change the name untilshe received the email too. All in all she was pretty unhelpful andrude. When we came back at around 5pm we had another clerk who was greatand she told us that with the email confirmation we had received shecould go ahead and change the info. After that, it was smooth sailing.
Review 125:First of all you should tell people the casino is closed for renovation Second it takes 20 minutes to get an elevator this place is old and needs to be pdated
Review 126:The staff was nice, room clean
Review 127:our 2nd room we booked wasn't ready until 3 hours past check in time, front Desk did nothing to help satisfy our friends with the delay in getting into there room, when they got to there room it wasn't finished being cleaned had to wait in the hallway until done. Didn't like $15 a day parking
Review 128:Updated Room and comfortable Bed
Review 129:The hallway and room had a musty smell. Was not worth the amount of money that we paid out and also the table was broken. There was also no place to sit.
Review 130:Room windows to small Wifi was very week Didn't have package with breakfast
Review 131:The location was nice in the middle Hotel was very clean The art gallery was amazing
