Reviews for World Hostel
Review 1:The bath was a little hard work but was okay.
Review 2:Free breakfast was great it consisted of cereals, toast, bread, tea and coffee. Great location easy walk to old town/river area. Really nice room with ensuite. Easy 10-15 min walk from main station (glowny) we came in from the airport on the 210 bus.
Review 3:Very bright (pink and green) colored room called "Moskov" does not create good environment to relax. As well there was a coat rack which was broken thus lacking space to hang coats.
Review 4:Clean kitchen, available room in the cellar for group meeting, gaming or working. Good location of the hostel with a terrace facing to the river.
Review 5:Disappointing breakfast that came preportioned in plastic boxes, small kitchen with too little sitting places
Review 6:Helpful staff, brilliant location, cozy little room, bathtub, terrace by the water
Review 7:Verry cold outside wall next to bed in Gdansk room.
Review 8:Perfect location to visit Gdansk and do shopping at the same time. Staff incredibly friendly and helpful!
Review 9:Wardrobe or hanging space would have been a help ( maybe in room alcove)
Review 10:Fantastic boutique hostel. Great location, within 10 mins walk of train station and very close to Old Town. Stayed in Paris Room. (Twin e/s) in eves of house which was spotlessly clean. Very comfortable bed. Towel and toiletries provided. Pre-packed breakfast ( cheese / meat / salad) as well as bread and cereals provided and unlimited tea and coffee.
Review 11:Very nice , friendly and helpfull staff. What ever we asked for we get it : extra pillows , special veg breakfast or any information where to go ... ;)
Review 12:in order to have electricity in the room you have to put your card into box on the wall...-everytime somobody can just take it (even not on purpose) and then you pay extra money for card!!!
Review 13:very clean and cosy room
Review 14:No daily rubbish removal or basic cleaning of the rooms. Room was just cleaned on arrival. If you stay more than 3-4 days cleaning of the room starts to be an issue.
Review 15:Location is Excellent Cheap
Review 16:There is only one bathroom (a toilet and shower) per room and no other toilets, so if someone is using the shower you cannot use a toilet. There is no laundry and washing per item is expensive. The hostel was very quiet (definitely not a party hostel) but seemed good for families.
Review 17:The staff were lovely, breakfast was good and the hostel was clean.
Review 18:Great location, short walk from Central train station and old town sights (eg medieval crane & Długi Targ, and also the excellent European Solidarity Centre). Rio room was well appointed, though small, with a large comfy bed! Breakfast was excellent (cheese/sliced meat, cereal etc).
Review 19:Awesome place, close to the historical part of the city (basically 2 min walk) close to the main railway station as well. Cozy cute rooms (mine was Rio de Janeiro), clean, comfortable, and for that kind of service and comfort price is really low! It's one of the best places I ever been. Very kind receptionist, she even printed out for me the bus schedule to the airport so I could make it in time!
Review 20:There was (Moskva) bad smell, like wet. And near the window where was big bed the smell was awfull. There also is quite windy in that bed:(
Review 21:The breakfast was nicely done, every one got his one package.I like that hostel:) Beds were comfortable, but..
Review 22:Check-in closes at 11pm. After this, you're on your own!
Review 23:Great location, fantastic decor, freshly renovated. 5 minute walk to town centre, 2 minute walk to Bunker club.
Review 24:None !!
Review 25:The hostel is very clean especially the toilet, more like a hotel than hostel~ 10min walk from main train/bus station~ Near to old town, shopping mall and nice restaurant~
Review 26:Not much of a hostel atmosphere while we were there. So if you are looking for a party hostel not the place to go. If you are looking for a quiet chill place though - definitely yes!
Review 27:More like a hotel than a hostel, very comfy bed, hotel-like rooms, linens and towels provided, huge lockers, good breakfast, friendly and helpful staff, amazing terraces to chill.
Review 28:If I had to pick something, I would say the breakfast room was a bit cramped.
Review 29:The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean. The hostel is well located close to the centre but on a quiet street.
Review 30:Wifi was very good in the common space, but not in bed... A bit noisy around midnight because of the bar in front.
Review 31:Nice building and rooms, disposition of beds allow for privacy which is great! Possibility to rent a bike. Very close to the city centre.
Review 32:Would have appreciated some fresh fruits/berries and juice on breakfast. In the Rio room it was very difficult to take a shower without making the floor soaking wet.
Review 33:Loved the themed rooms, they were colourful and clean.
Review 34:Room and bathroom were very modern, comparable to staying at a hotel. Each room was individually themed to a major world city. Impeccably clean. Helpful staff at front desk.
Review 35:Room for four was too small and lacking adequate storage. Small door/window wasn't enough to keep the room cool at night.
Review 36:Friendly and very helpful staff. Excellent location.
Review 37:Everything! For those looking for a hostel, in a central yet quiet location - this is where you need to go. Love their concept of smaller occupants per room, and the private bathroom per room arrangements. All in all, truly impressed!
Review 38:Wi-fi connection was very poor. There was a noise from the nearby pub in the night.
Review 39:The location is quite central. Theme based rooms. Staff is very helpful. Breakfast is very good and more than enough.
Review 40:The room was a bit too hot.
Review 41:Helpful staff, clean rooms and bathrooms, towels are available. The hostel is located on the river, 10 mins walk from the train station and 15 mins walk from the main town. Unified pass to entrance door, room door and locker
Review 42:No conditioner. Too heavy blankets for summer. There are very nice terraces, but if you want to sleep they serve badly.
Review 43:Excellent location. Funny interior. Friendly atmosphere.
Review 44:Nothing at all!!
Review 45:This is one of the best places I ever stayed at! It feels more like a B&B than a hostel. I absolutely loved it. The rooms are nice and have an own bathroom. I stayed at the Beijing room which has a view on one of the two terraces, where you can enjoy your (free!) breakfast in the morning. Also, it's super central but still in a quite neighborhood. For all the Dutch persons (and for the non-Dutch as well of course), I highly recommend to rent one of the nice bikes the hostel offers and enjoy the surroundings of Gdansk (for just 8 euro per day). Also, I find the girls at the reception very welcoming and friendly. I would absolutely return if I visit Gdansk once more.
Review 46:The staff was extremely helpful and nice. Their flexibility and guest/costumer focus made the stay a lot more comfortable. The rooms are clean, colorful, vivid and spacious.
Review 47:Area, felt unsafe when coming back from town at night. Pillows!! Never slept on a more uncomfortable pillow! Size of the rooms. We slept in a 4 and struggled with space despite the fact it was only two of us in the room, can't imagine sharing that space with another 2 people!!!
Review 48:Themed rooms. Decor was great. Staff was very nice! Locked cupboards with alarm. Individually packed breakfast.
Review 49:I've spending a weekend in the hostel. Opposit of the hostel is a nice little Bar, but they play long nights so if you want to go to bed early it can be noise. I don't know how it is during the week.
Review 50:I like it to sit in the Terrasse and the stuff was really nice and helpful.
Review 51:there is just nothing!
Review 52:Everything! The location is just perfect, it is nothing but just awesome inside, staff is really friendly and competent, there is surveillance and electronic system of entrance, so I could feel safe when nobody is at the reception. My room was next to the terrace at the river embankment, so one can have breakfast there in the morning or a beer in the evening! The towels and soaps are provided, as well as breakfast! Free wifi is everywhere in the hostel. And that's all for a very nice price!!!! It was so comfortable so I stayed one more day, cause I just didn't wanna leave :)))
Review 53:The first day there was a slight unpleasant smell in the bathroom, which was absolutely clean. So it must be the old plumbing, which was not a bad price to pay for being in a very atmospheric old building.
Review 54:This was a thoroughly enjoyable experience since it was a clean, beautiful and QUIET (not a party zone) hostel. Maya, the manager, is fantastic, sweet and caring. It's a 5 minute brisk walk from the train and bus stations, yet very close to the old town (about 10-15 min walk to Dlugi), so you can meander through the lovely old streets in that derection, or walk along the river from the Swan Tower. Cute design, the ground floor simply gorgeous. It would not be a place for those who want to party hard.
Review 55:kitchen/breakfast area is too small (maybe better to break the wall between the TV room and the kitchen to create a bigger space
Review 56:modern, clean, dorm rooms are extremely well presented with bunk beds arranged to give a bit of privacy, each room has its en-suite bathroom (very modern, clean with individual shampoo, soap), nice linen and towels. Feels like 3-4 star modern hotel but with a dorm room instead. breakfast is rich (cereals, bread, tea, coffee, and an individually prepared sealed box with ham, tomatoes and cheese)
Review 57:I simply loved staying at the World Hostel! Frendly and helpful staff, conviniently equipped kitchen, with tea, coffee and milk, comfortable bed, clean ans spacious room and bathroom, very good location, private locker in a room opened by a dedicated card - I don't think you can ask for more. I really really reccommend!
Review 58:This has to be the nicest, most comfortable hostel I have ever stayed at (I have been around quite a bit). There are hotel-like amenities that provide a comfort I have never experienced in a hostel before. In gdansk you have many hostels to choose from - and they are all around the same price... This one is far superior (I had also stayed at happy seven - not very good and incomparable to world hostel). Maya, the manager is incredibly accommodating- and runs the hostel like a boutique hotel... Paying close attention to all her guests' needs.
Review 59:The lady at reception was really nice. Hotel is cute, clean and easy, Good value for money. I stayed just for one night. Breakfast was good and there is tea and coffee for free at anytime during the day
Review 60:In the middle of the old town, short walking distance to everything: all the tourist attractions. 3 minutes to Madison Shopping Mall :) 10 minutes to the Dluga road and Dluga Targ. And 5 minutes to the station for busses, trams and trains. The hostel had a kitchen and a living room for the guests to use when needed. The staff was really nice and helpful.
Review 61:Choices for breakfast were quite limited but as it was included in the very fair price I don't want to complain about it.
Review 62:Best hostel I've been to. Good location, nice staff, rooms are very clean and beautifully decorated.
Review 63:Excellent location, just 5-10 min walk to reach The old town. 5 minute walk from The main train station. Lovely room, helpful Staff and a small breakfast in The morning. If we visit Gdansk again, we will definately stay at world hostel!
Review 64:One bad thing - wifi was extremely poor, we almost couldnt use that at all.
Review 65:World Hostel is one of the best hostels I have been. Location is great - in the connor of the Old Town (in a very cozy one two), not far from shopping centre Madison and close to European Centre of Solidarity. Everything what you will need as a tourist is near. Rooms were very clean, very cozy and warm (you can control the rooms temperature). Our room had a private bathroom. Everything new and clean, they give you towers, soap and shower shampoo. in the basement there is a kitchen you can use all the time - free tea or coffe also. Breakfast is included, although it was very small and funny, but that wasnt a problem. In the summer there should be super cool, cause they have two terraces, near the river. The reception girl was very nice and friendly, not fake friendly. She can suggest you some very useful places in the city:)
Review 66:lack of other (public) bathroom except the ensuite ones in the rooms, electronic key (for the door and the locker) that makes a lot of noise
Review 67:great location close to main attractions, clean rooms, free toiletries and towels, free coffee and tea, 24-hour front desk, fully equipped kittchen
Review 68:Great location, perfect value for the price, beautiful, colorful rooms with private bathrooms and excellently welcoming and professional staff ;) The catering breakfast was a nice plus to all of it. We came across Electronic cards instead of keys for the first time in this type of accomodation. And, for the price.. It suprised us a lot. WiFi is working smoothly on every floor ;) Overally, the place is great and has more of a family hotel than a hostel feel to it. Definitely will come again.
Review 69:- upper part of bunk bed (which is intended for kids as its family room) does not have protection rail - Very easy to drop down!
Review 70:- design! small spaces but every inch used with taste and creativity - very helpful and commited staff - very good location
Review 71:the smell of renovation which may go away with time.
Review 72:the kitchen with boiled water for tea any time when we are back to the hostel. good location in a quiet area between the main train station and the old town.
Review 73:We stayed at a hostel for the 1st time and we were surprised cause the level of service is higher than even in hotels =) So if we go to Gdansk again we will stay only in World hostel ! We wish this place to flourish and have a lot of customers !
Review 74:The staff were so friendly & helpful. The hostel had everything you could want - clean, wifi, tv, comfortable etc. It was basically like a nice hotel rather than a hostel.
Review 75:The receptionists are so sweet and went out of their way to help us. The room was comfortable and quiet. The two terraces overlooking the canal are lovely.
Review 76:The breakfast was included but we did not know so it came as a surprise and it was a buffet breakfast; comfy room and spacious bathroom. Definitely recommended.
Review 77:Nothing
Review 78:This summer we stayed in this hostel twice. We liked everything! Staff attitude towards tourists and to their work is perfect! Special appreciation to Maya for the warm relationship. Creative design of rooms, absolute cleanness, excellent location - very close to the center and possibility to stay calm. Many thanks!
Review 79:Nothing that I can underline
Review 80:Ms Maja welcomed me very nicely, I got a whole room for the price of a bed, plus she prepared me a breakfast for taking away, given that my checkout was early in the morning. As hostel is very well equipped with all facilities in the room, all is brand new and good quality, I definitely will also take back my family there! Close to city Centre and station, quiet and in quiet area, with a lounge and a terrace as common area. All in all, I had a wonderful though short stay at world hostel!
Review 81:Wanted staff on door early morning (07:00) when I left as I could not get a quick breakfast before leaving to catch my flight. Despite this, a very nice stay - and staff were nice.
Review 82:Room was clean and last night I had the whole room to myself.
Review 83:loved everything!!!
Review 84:very friendly and helpful staff, beautiful new and clean hostel, great sunny terrace, simply the nicest hostel I've been to. Great location, close to Old Town and central station Would recommend to anyone!!
