Reviews for Hotel Almoggar Garden Beach
Review 1:Room is too far from main hotel building . And no wifi connection . Only I can get wifi when I'm in reception . But as I said my room was very far ..
Review 2:Hotel is in nice location
Review 3:Bad pool benches, poor beach set, big room but poor facilities, poor breakfast
Review 4:Shisha place, football games, good pool Great location, excellent spa
Review 5:Poor wifi, especially as it was restricted to the Lobby only. Cannot use swimming pool at night ;-(
Review 6:Options including decent food and lots of facilities on site like club, fast food, bar, gym...
Review 7:A couple of nights I had noicy nabours. That's all.
Review 8:Very good location at a very good price! Beautiful garden, excellent food (breakfast and dinner buffets) with a good variety. Near the beach and shops. There is satellite tv with Moroccan, French, english speaking (CNN), German, Italian, Polish and Russian channels. At the beach Al Moggar has its own area with free chairs only 50 meters away. Friendly staff. Best of Moroccan hospitality!
Review 9:Staff fairly unfriendly and service really bad. Safety box in room available but only at extra charge. Facilities worn down and room cleaning poor. Pool not heated (ca 16 C)!! Half board did not include any drinks (not even water!). Food fairly poor.
Review 10:The weather and the surfing. Nothing to like about the hotell really.
Review 11:Needs a heated swimming pool - felt like ice water.
Review 12:Great Location - probably one of the best located hotels in Agadir. Can't go wrong for the price you pay.
Review 13:Buffet breakfast is just average.
Review 14:The location of the hotel is very ideal if you want to enjoy the corniche and the beach life. Fun-filled events are also offered.
Review 15:Says toileteries provided, it's a bar of soap only ! Safe provided, but you have to pay and only one person has the codes and he was day off, so no safe !
Review 16:Good pool and gardens
Review 17:Staff in the reception wasn't that responsive. Before getting their attention you could wait there 1-3 minutes then being assisted from someone who would then ask someone else.
Review 18:View from the room is nice. No problem for getting a early check-in and late check-out (at a price). Location is good, nice clean pool.
Review 19:They close there swimming pool too early and I didn't get the room I was so pose to get. They gave me a room with four single beds when I booked for twin room. And I seen one of the twin rooms they look so good I don't know why they didn't give what I booked. They said they will change but they didn't bother much. I stayed 7 nights in a family room with two extra empty beds. And the room was to big for two of us which didn't make us feel cozy. And no WiFi in rooms very disappointing I mean come on its 2015.
Review 20:The receptionist didn't understand much of what I said, also the machines didn't accept our mastercard and visacard, so we had to pay cash, and got no conformation on that. The breakfastbuffet was big, but the bread was dry, the salad looked old and served no juices.
Review 21:I liked the pools, big and spacious and plenty of sunbeds. The location was right by the beach, and next to a pharmacy, banks and a mini-market. Rooms cleaned everyday, nice cleaning staff.
Review 22:Noisy neighbours late at night, but a call to reception Quickly solved problem.
Review 23:Pool - separate Pools for kids and games, 25m pool free for lengths. Close to promenade, beach, marina, port.
Review 24:Although there was a safe in the room, one had to pay extra to use it and that payment could only be made between 10 am and 5 pm. I arrived later so I could not use it.
Review 25:Wi-Fi signal poor and not available in the rooms.
Review 26:Fantastic value for money. Basic and clean accommodation. Great holiday location. Very relaxing and safe. Perfect for a stay with small children. The staff are helpful and friendly. The pool is great and there is also a specified area on the beach for Hotel Almoggar residents.
Review 27:Food was a little disappointing although we had a super tagine and couscous on the Friday night.
Review 28:Proximity to beach and Marina. Lovely pools and plenty of sun beds. Great shisha bar on site and reasonable prices for everything. Most staff were really great and helpful. Had a wonderful stay and booked an extra night.
Review 29:The Service at the main restaurant is poor.. waiters are very lazy, they don’t feel like they want to work and not respecting the guest nor helping them!! One day I came in the morning with my wife to have breakfast at the terrace, I found a table but no chairs, so I asked one waiter (from the bow tie he was wearing, he looked like he was a “supervisor” ) standing at the entrance doing nothing more than just looking around and blocking the way.. to get me a chair, he said to me to go back a look for the waiter who is serving there and ask him!!! Dinner time, the waiter pass by your table without bothering himself to clear the dirty plates.. when they do, you feel like they are doing a favor! I then got fed up and went to the marina where there are plenty of restaurants and cafés and enjoyed nice food and better service/price This is spoiling the reputation of the hotel, My advice to the hotel management is to pay attention to the service at the main restaurant!!
Review 30:The location- The size of the room- Hotel view
Review 31:poor maintenance for the rooms And bathrooms, need to find a better solution for the dinners room many flies you can't eat.as soon you seat you get attacked my flies
Review 32:Good location, clean room, good food
Review 33:Very old hotel hasn't been renewed since it's building as it seems. Rooms are not clean at all, bathroom in catastrophic state, terrible odor coming from the bathroom we asked for changing the room because of the odor, they didn't find an available room for us until the next day so we had a bad first night ! It's a shame to mention that the hotel has a private parking, it's outside the hotel and it's public as it seems, parking guard asks for a tip, we found our car collided ! Very poor breakfast, cold pastries ! Very crowded hotel, very noisy, poor value for money !
Review 34:The location, the pool, beautiful surroundings.
Review 35:I gave the cleaning and serving staff a good rating, but, unfortunately, those at the reception desk were amongst the least competent, to the point of apathy, of any I have ever seen, even in one-star hotels. I had to return three times, quite a walk up a hill, to have my room card magnetized, and in the end, after accusing me of not knowing how to use it(!!), they finally admitted that it was not working and gave me a key instead. Also, this hotel has the most bizarre method of cleaning. They come early in the morning, whilst one is at breakfast, and take away all of the towels (quite bothersome if one wishes to take a shower afterwards), and the towels are only returned around 15:00. Thus, if you go there, bring your own towels, just in case. The purpose of my trip was to rest, but this was quite impossible. This hotel attracts and caters to families with a multitude of children, so there is non-stop noise, both night and day. And hardly have the children, finally, gone to bed, around midnight, than the disco heats up until around 4:00 a.m.
Review 36:The location is excellent, only a short walk to an excellent and little frequented sand beach, whereas just a few meters away, on the public beach, one can hardly walk. The cleaning staff as well as the staff in the restaurant were cordial and helpful.
Review 37:- wifi very poor even in the lobby - poor entertainment - breakfast gets boring after a few days, maybe should mix up the menu from time to time?
Review 38:+ beautiful surroundings + very helpful staff + nice clean pool
Review 39:Half the facilities we paid for were not open! Rooms need a serious refurb! Not much choice for breakfast. Unfriendly staff.
Review 40:Location good. Good sized rooms with big balcony overlooking sea.
Review 41:Rooms were too far no lifts had to carry luggage there were stairs no heated pools wifi was rubbish even in public areas reception did nothing about it no toiletries in the bathroom beds had hair on them
Review 42:Location friendly staff (not on reception) around the rest of the hotel facilities at the hotel entertainment at night
Review 43:There is no wifi in the rooms and the wifi connection is really poor at all areas lobby, restaurant and bar your lucky if you get a connection.
Review 44:The hotel has amazing views. 2 pools and great location in terms of food. The staff are all nice and welcoming and very helpfull.
Review 45:Beds a little uncomfortable no laundry service or irons?housekeeping could be more organised
Review 46:Good breakfast open spaces good location friendly staff some more than others good kids entertainment kid friendly Hakim there main Rep was great well spoken individual well worth it
Review 47:A/C is not working, shower is broken, tiles in WC are cracked and dirty. Breakfast is very poor, instant coffee. Omelet is served one hour after announced breakfast start.
Review 48:The only advantage is beach across the street.
Review 49:The only thing was that smoking is allowed in the hotel rooms - so the rooms smell a bit.
Review 50:The location is perfect: right at the beach (with a private beach for Almoggar). Two swimmingpools which are very clean (every day cleaning). We had a nice room with big balkony and seaview. Breakfast was fine (bread, sweets, fresh fruit, salad, omelets etc.) Friendly staff and nice outside area with lot of green. Perfect for the price you pay for this hotel!
Review 51:I was told to pay extra for gym and to use of safety box. it does not says in website for paying extra to use facilities which you already paid for previously when booked the rooms.
Review 52:Great location right on main agadir beach area. Needs interior refurbishment. was charged extra to use gym which was not attended by a staff and had floor boArds in bad condition .
Review 53:I did not like pillows, they wer too small, also the shows at night cud a b more better
Review 54:Amazing stay, i've no words for it. Hotel, staff everyone was amzing.
Review 55:Quality of bedding. Menu/quality of buffet.. Decor. Have to pay at check in and lots of stairs..prepare for the work out!!
Review 56:Location. Children's entertainment. Staff. On site Restaurants are good value. Big balcony. Hotel grounds.
Review 57:We enjoyed our stay, but wish that we could have stayed longer.
Review 58:Al Moggar was very reasonably priced, easy to find, and helpful staff. The location was truly fantastic on the main stretch of beach. The beach is just lovely directly across from Al Moggar, and there are two pools to chose from when you want to get out of the sand, but stay in the sun. It is family friendly, and clean.
Review 59:The music in pool area can be loud sometimes. Nothing else to fault about this place.
Review 60:It's very close to the beach, no stuck-up hotel staff. Everyone is geniue and very helpful. We loved the way hotel was set up. Had lovely room with Sea view. We had easy access to thehotel restaurant, just down some stairs and we wre on the beach. We absolutely loved this hotel and will definitely recommend because you get so much more for what You pay. Even though hotel is very spread out, it is very secure and at point the gate security guard stopped my daughter from going out because He didn't see me coming. I very much appreciate all the hard work animation staff put in as well as the chefs, cleaners and gardeners. Food is really good and we enjoyed all our meals.
Review 61:The beds and pillows are very uncomfortable, like a rock. Wifi in the lobby drops every few mins, some days you cant even connect. Doors on the rooms are very thin, can hear everything going by, Maids talking every morning at 8am.
Review 62:For the price we paid for the week it was great value for money. Location is great, right beside the all the bars and restaurants, marina. Both pool areas were lovely, plenty of sunbeds but the pools are ice-cold. Breakfast was ok, the usual omelette bar, pastries, breads etc. Hotel staff were friendly, Mohamed at reception was always very helpful, recommended a restaurant 2 mins from the hotel called Jour & Nuit, great food and cheap prices, he gave us information for the bus to marrakech. Rooms were big, clean, big balcony. Would stay here again for the price.
Review 63:3 girls placed on the ground floor No privacy Didn't feel safe Wifi didn't work in public areas Checked out after 1 night when booked for 4 nights Wasn't clean
Review 64:The breakfast was nice
Review 65:I asked for a balcony window facing the sea got the opposite, bottom floor on the opposite side of the building to the sea and you have to pay for the gym
Review 66:Loved the swimming pool and mini golf, breakfast buffet was great
Review 67:Our bedroom was awful,it was dour needs a good clean 4 beds for a twinroom, bathroom was awful not clean NEEDS to be refurbished very worn and outdated
Review 68:Hotel itself was nice, grounds were lovely, swimming pool area was nice
Review 69:the hotel was very cold too big and anonymous to get to know anyone swimming pools freezing staff @ receptionally mostly unfriendly and not welcoming , pedicure @ hotel cut my foot 3 times and then said i had sensitive feet
Review 70:not alot
Review 71:They only have wifi in the lobby. The furnishing in the balcony was poor, only two regular plastic chairs, so we weren't out there at all.
Review 72:Very good location near the beach. The hotel area is big and quiet at night. Liked that they had two pools, one for families and one more tranquil.
Review 73:-Lack of wifi in the room -Lack of double bed since we were a married couple -difficult to find a parking spot. The hotel parking is taken up by the clubs nearby
Review 74:-Breakfast -Location
Review 75:We had a room next to a very noisy disco, belonging to the hotel. When we complained it took a long time to stop that noise.
Review 76:I liked the location and hotel. Also food was good.
Review 77:they charge for any service, including spa and gym; the rooms are horrible, the bed is not comfortable and it didn't look so clean; even the man at reception received us with a very dirty tie, incredible for a reception. For 10 bucks more you can find much better.
Review 78:there's a good spa/wellness zone and gym; rooms with sea view
Review 79:No tea or coffee making facility in room. Paper thin walls and noise from other rooms. Sun loungers and umbrellas in poor condition
Review 80:Clean and tidy swimming pool. Breakfast, but don't expect a full English. Well kept and maintained gardens. That this was not a high rise chain hotel. could exit the rear of the hotel directly on to the corniche then the very extensive beach.
Review 81:No frills bedroom, but clean comfortable and really good value. The decor isn't great but they make a very good effort to make the outdoors nice. It's right behind the main strip but still nice and quiet.
Review 82:.BUT: no information of almost any kind available at the reception desk (they didn t even know where the office du tourisme was) and some young man there of the night staff was outright unfriendly and uncooperative. They cannot provide a single cup of coffee for guests hthat have to leave at 5a.m. to catch the early flight to the Casablanca hub. They may not have that many individual travelers but mostly groups maybe.
Review 83:As it has been said by others, the space the hotel occupies is "in the first row" i.e. right by the more calm part of the cornice and 4-5 minutes from your bed to the private beach area (and even less to one of the pools). The view from the breakfast terrace in the mornings across the bay is simply splendid I only had breakfast there). The gardens are very spacious and are well kept. The hotel is about 40 years old but it s easy to be happy with that and it s EXCELLENT value for the money. Thank you to the owner of the lobby shop. He is the best informed man there! :-)
Review 84:Smell of the bathroom which we managed to overcome by buying a spray, but upon departure we were offered small room just to shower after we checked out ( was excellent service from the hotel though) the bath room was just a shower stand and water every where, I would have left it this room was mine at the first place. That said the room to shower was a goog gesture from the hotel.
Review 85:Liked the location, the swimming pool was long enough for real swimming laps, cosy, excellent location. I heared full board is not recommended as the food varity doesn't exist. I , myself, got bored of the same breakfast after few days but the location offers lots of dinner places where you can enjoy
Review 86:Very poor quality staff No sound proofing in the rooms, staff shouting in the corridors early in the morning Terrible breakfast Fee to access the fitness centre Price of the room in August (€90)
Review 87:Location Private beach
Review 88:The rooms need a spruce up as they look a bit dated internally. Also the bathroom drainage was not great so we nearly had a swimming pool in our room.
Review 89:Loved the fact that the beach was on the doorstep. The hotel is clean and staff are friendly and helpful.
Review 90:value of money is high against the hotel furniture Breakfast is very bad
Review 91:Very near to the Port and good animation team except one members namely Maria who are responsible for kids but she is not good and animations at night is good also
Review 92:The windows from all the toilets of every room is in the corridors which makes the corridors smelly. Rooms looks like low budget bed n breakfast.
Review 93:I liked the location thats it!waste of money
Review 94:Poor Standard of the rooms, lack of informations to the guest on arrival, telephone without any help numbers list to call in case of need, safe in the room must be paid daily to secure your valuables(about £2),on arrival one handle of drawers was broken, breakfast 7 am till 10 am(was included in my booking) if you missed it for 5 mins you won't have it,due to self service, people get more then what they can eat (for not queueing again) otherwise get your breakfast in one of the cafes near the hotel they serve a variety of breakfast continental and traditional
Review 95:Good location, nice private beach and good staff, good for kids with nice swimming pools
Review 96:Wi fi was so so so poor you have to spend a hours to just connect and if there's lots of people connecting is more difficult . ( is available only on reception area )
Review 97:Stuff was a really helpfull , a lovely place close to the beach and town centre .
Review 98:. during check in, there were many people behind the counter, still it took a long time to check in. . the pool is much smaller than it looked on the picture so very crowded, loud animation, much too few seats and umbrellas for the amount of people. . the rooms were dirty, old and badly maintained . many stairs which makes it difficult to move around with luggage not to mention disabled people (no lifts) . meals: long queues to get any warm food, if you are late almost impossible to get a clean table, waiters lazy and almost invisible, low quality food, . staff generally gave an impression of not being interested ( groups of cleaning ladies chatting in middle of hotel, staff smoking in front of guests,... )
Review 99:. it is located close to the beach and the city. . animation in the evening was much higher quality than we expected
Review 100:Very pricey with no option for full board when we stayed. Drinks at dinner were then extortionately over priced. Hotel was overbooked and understaffed. Often at breakfast you could not find a table to sit at. Rooms were ok but not fantastic. The third bed in a triple room is a makeshift one and not very comfortable. Will definitely not be coming back.
Review 101:Location is good as it is close to the beach and the promenade.
Review 102:We were not advised that the hotel was under reconstruction so we had one pool between whole complex and as this was happening they were replacing the drainage system meaning we had loss of water some days really poor to be honest.
Review 103:Very little
Review 104:Only 1 pool open for duration of our stay, we only found out upon ckeck in. Very few loungers at the beach, many without cushions. Music at pool was awful.
Review 105:Decent sized rooms, good breakfast, short walk to the beach, rooms cleaned daily and towels changed
Review 106:Apparently only one person speaks English at the reception.
Review 107:The hotel had a lower prices 2.5times less than usual 1200dh, therefor all the facilities: swimming pool (large and 2 smaller), location (1min to the beach), big room with a balcony view on the Ocean, great breakfast (omlet, bread, vegetables etc.), garden with a fountain, free wifi in the lobby are a good value for money. Staff was helpful and friendly. For additional costs there is also Spa and gym.
Review 108:The only fault was the fact that sausages or more fruit might have been available at breakfast! Also we enjoyed using the more quieter pool however found it was being repaired the last few days of our holiday. The next day there was not enough Lilo's to cope with the extra demand so customers had to spend the tine on the beach! However this turned out to be a blessing as we had a very lovely time swimming in the sea for the afternoon! Our only criticism is that Al Moggar needs to supply more Lilo's and more comfortable Lilo's for the smaller more quieter pool area!
Review 109:As soon as we arrived at the hotel we were greeted by a lovely porter who loaded our 3 quite heavy suitcases into a trolley! Reception staff were friendly and helpful even though we had arrived late evening we were made to feel welcome and at ease. The decor, the rooms and the staff lovely. The food good quality and varied from day to day! Evening meals were delicious with very good choices, specially the salad and desert selection. The two Canteen Manager were always smiling and had a good rapport with the staff. The waiting staff were friendly and curtious. The Promenade and beach were few steps away from hotel. We found a lovely cafe where the staff were so funny and treated us really well. The locals were inquisitive about where we were from and always bid us welcome when we told them we were from London. I travelled and stayed at Al Moggar with my Sister and eldest daughter. We felt safe at all times! Al Moggar has 24 hour security officers who were always welcoming and helpful. The gardens were well kept and beautiful with a fountain as central feature. One of our best holidays!!
Review 110:My last stay Manger of the shift wasn't behavior good because in the beging my friend ask for a room then they said no rooms then I look in the booking.com and I found then I went to the them I told them I book through booking.com and told me we can't give you the room then I inssest We were talking for long time then they agreed
Review 111:I like the location
Review 112:Staff is terible
Review 113:Very nice resort with nice bieach and good facilities. Yes rooms are from last centurie and it could be beter but when you book you can see photos of room. You get what you see on photo so you are ok with this rooms.
Review 114:Rooms where just standard but we only paid for a standard hotel, however if it was to be consistent with everything else then I'd probably expect to pay more. WiFi is the biggest issue, you will struggle to find WiFi almost anywhere in the hotel apart from the lounge and that's if you can connect. Our rooms were outside the range so we had no WiFi at all, but we never stayed in the rooms during the day anyway (you'd be stupid to with agadir beach so close to you).
Review 115:Location is fabulous, something I'd expect from a 5star hotel, but me and my friends got that from a rather cheap 4 star hotel. Scenery is beautiful also, out looking the beautiful agadir beach with all rooms and balconies facing the beach.
Review 116:Open spaced, clean, wifi worked well. Nice staff.
Review 117:To many stairs and no elevator
Review 118:1 minute walk to beach, kids loved it
Review 119:very basic rooms. curtains would not pull closed on ground floor apartment...
Review 120:location, gardens, pool, breakfast, private enclosed beach area
Review 121:Staff very helpful, very personalise service. The food choice was good. Happy with everything that this location offers.
Review 122:No gay friendly at all
Review 123:Good
Review 124:Facilities is poor for a comfortable stay! No hair dryer, wifi only around reception, no fridge
Review 125:Location
Review 126:the location is excellent, the beds are comfortable, the value is great for families on a budget, you can not find a better location for this price
Review 127:Not clean and very old fornitur
Review 128:I really like the animation staff and location
Review 129:staff were not very helpful
Review 130:It's a bit rundown.
Review 131:Stayed here two years and especially like the staff!
Review 132:Service
Review 133:bedrooms were worn as in: old decor and furniture but clean. Again bathrooms worn
Review 134:the staff and food
Review 135:dirty hotel. Food is terrible. Service is absolutely terrible.
Review 136:Absolutely nothing
Review 137:Breakfast needs to be improved. Bed mattress is very hard and not comfortable.
Review 138:Location, swimming pool, garden areas
Review 139:Nothing
Review 140:Just like the staff I made me feel at home , a massive thanks for the gardeners for they brilliant hard work
The Fine Print
