Review 1：The only thing keeping this from being a 10 is the bathroom. Very small and the water pressure was always low. The low water pressure is probably not the fault of the facility, but it made it difficult to shower.

Review 6：Location as secluded and quiet but aliona beach 10 minute drive away for food and drink options with more bustle (the hotel offers taxi service). Hotel very quiet with beach outlook, not recommended for swimming use the gorgeous pool but good for exploring sealife. Staff super friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Room comfortable with private balcony, not super spacious but only sleeping there. Good spot for island exploration. Nice touch of binoculars in your room.

Review 7：The beach. If the hotel would clean up the beach so you could actually swim there, the stay would be absolutely perfect. It is not an big issue to get to Alona Beach for a swim, but having a private beach by the hotel would be amaxing and boost the stay. The rooms are little bit worn down.

Review 8：The location of the hotel is great. It is very quiet with an amazing pool and views from the room. The beds are very comfortable. The breakfast served at the rooftop is a great start for the day. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Alona Beach is just few minutes away and the hotel offrs free shuttle bus during the day. It is nice to come back to the peaceful hotel.

Review 9：There is a private beach, but you can't really swim there (shallow, many seaweeds, many boats). There is really not much to do in the surroundings (for example to eat it's better to just go to Alona). There is a bar by the pool and also in the 3rd floor of the hotel, but both were closed the time we were there.

Review 23：Enjoyed our stay with the hotel from June 11-14. Staff very friendly and accomodating. Rooms are clean and cleaned daily. Breakfast really nice and delicious. The staff has made our stay enjoyable, always smiling and saying hello. The hotel staff assisted with booking of tours. And there's free drop/pick up to and from alona beach. The hotel situated in a small private beach/area with infinity pool. Good for relaxation.

Review 26：Great place for a few nights, we didn't want to stay in the lively (noisy) part of Alona beach so South Beach Hotel was perfect for us. Clean and comfy rooms, great rooftop bar and extremely accommodating staff. We were driven wherever wanted to go and when I got to the airport and realised I'd left some clothes behind they sent someone on a motorbike to the airport with them just in time for me to make my flight. Breakfast wasn't great but that seemed to be a common theme in the Philippines.

Review 35：It seemed they wanted to build a fancy modern hotel and failed. The building is new but you can already see the first cracks in the wall and spots of rust. Next to the hotel they burn trash. You cannot go to the sea and swim. In middle of nowhere - but therefore a free shuttle to alona beach. Tiny rooms! Aircon mounted in a way it blows directly in your face while sleeping. A Bathroom/ toilet that is really small and sometimes stinks. Breakfast included but very basic.

Review 37：It was "Shambolic "! The breakfast was awful, one egg, three rashers of bacon, two pieces of toast ,one cup of tea and powdered orange juice. Served cold!! When we asked for cornflakes ,we had to buy them ourselves! The filters on the swimming pool were switched off so there were bugs in the pool and quite frankly the place was not very clean. The rooms so small.

Review 40：The hotel is located on a tiny unkept unswimmable beach 3 kms from Alona Beach. There are no other eating or drinking options reasonably available other than going in to Alona Beach. . Food is so so and drinks are expensive. Staff is poorly trained and inattentive. There is a 3rd floor bar/Resto and 4th floor deck but both were unstaffed so if you want a drink or food you walk down to reception who sends up someone who doesn't speak English etc. Rooms are smallish but bathroom is tiny including incredibly cramped shower. I had a Deluxe room on the 2nd floor with balcony. There is no furniture on the balconies and nothing in the room to move out. The wifi only worked in the small lobby. The safe deposit box wasn't working ie couldn't input the 4 digit code so they provided a key which you then had to carry with you. Given the many cheaper and better accomodations and restaurant options on Alona Beach why stay here?

Review 41：Pool is nice but when I stayed a couple were noisily swimming after 11 pm (pool closes at 10 pm) and no one did anything so I had to get up and go down to reception and complain. The best part of this hotel is the website photos. It's all steeply downhill from there.

Review 115：The shuttle to Alona beach was not running but the sign was still advertising it. Luckily, they still accommodated us and took us to the beach. One concern is when I checked in, they took down my credit card information which I would normally be fine with, although always a little hesitant, but the receptionist also took down my security code which is completely unnecessary. They should be more careful about this.

Review 116：This hotel is not on Alona beach but is beach front so while it is away from the 'action', it has it's own private beach with a pool on the water as well. Considering it is kind of isolated, they compensated with certain amenities. It would be difficult to find as nice of accommodation on or near Alona beach (especially for the money) as the entire hotel is well-designed and new. I would recommend for value and for those that aren't concerned with staying on Alona beach.

Review 117：We did not like the position of the resort as opposed to many others at alona beach. We asked for a lunch and were given a large menu but the only things they had were eggs. Which when they came were swimming in mayonnaise. we also asked for a drink in the bar and were told the barman didnot work that time. We never saw a barman in the time we were there. Sorry needs to be sorted out as the building is very pleasant.

Review 122：The rooms are a bit small. When we first got their our air conditioner wasn't working and neither was the TV but the staff had it all resolved in less than 10 minutes which is excellent. The restaurant has a great view but should be air conditioned during the day so you have the choice to eat without sweating. Food was ok, nothing fancy but then again, they do not promise anything fancy. This is a new hotel, less than a year old so they are still working everything out. In fact, we could smell the freshness of the paint in our room. It is a bit far from everything and you need to take a taxi or get the hotel driver to take you somewhere if you need to shop or eat dinner, etc.Free shuttle times are offered and you can arrange your own shuttle time for a very small fee. I am sure when they get all the kinks worked out it will be an amazing place. It is already aesthetically beautiful.
