Reviews for Hotel Alp

Review 1:the sauna room was very nice and enough opportunities, we found the extra price too high. it could have been inclueded in the room price already:-(

Review 2:food was very tasty and various of choices, room was nothing special, clean and comfortable to sleep

Review 3:Old fashioned and outdated hotel which clearly requires renovation. Poor quality of food for breakfast - cold (!) tea water. Limited water pressure in shower with broken holder for shower head Dirty windows and smelly corridors to the rooms.

Review 4:* Very friendly and helpful reception staff - offering pragmatic and working solutions for MTB wash and drying of clothes * Central location

Review 5:No air conditioning. Poor wifi connection (clearly the network is underdimensioned with respect to the number of simultaneous users). On top of this, a private party was organized in the hotel and the noise went on at least until 3 am, so we had to choose for not sleeping for the loud music and noise with an open window or not sleeping for the high temperature with a closed window (in both cases we has hot room and too much noise anyway!).

Review 6:The hotel is modern, provides some wellness facilities (sauna, massage, quite expensive) and is located in the city center.

Review 7:Thin walls mean you get to hear your neighbors. Smallish room. Very hot at night.

Review 8:Great location right in the middle of Bovec, good parking, and a solid free breakfast. The WiFi was mostly fast. I was able to upload a ton of trip pictures in a short period of time. Skype was hit or miss.

Review 9:The room was a joke, very depressing. Too small, old equipments, TV not working. No soundproof ! In the bathroom, the lavabo is too down.

Review 10:Personal is welcoming Good situation in the center of Bovec Bed ok

Review 11:The TV was tiny. Breakfast buffet was sufficient to good, though the coffee offered as part of the breakfast seemed to be a sort of a indefineable instant coffee (so I fetched my 'good morning capuccino' at the bar...). The Hotel might need a renovation at a certain point...

Review 12:I stayed at Hotel Alp for three nights in a double room with a nice mountain view. The room was quiet, had a seperate entrance (depandance-building). Sleep comfort was very good. The capuccino and espresso at the bar/café was excellent. Hotel is located very centrally. Staff was very friendly!

Review 13:Noise from other people kept me awake (I stayed about three weeks and moved out because of the noise). Coffee at breakfast comes from a machine and tastes awfull, otherwise breakfast is good. Some (bath)rooms could use a little renovation. Would be nice if the hotel would have more individual or local design, it is a hotel like anywhere else. Some changes in interior design and warmer lights would help a great deal.

Review 14:big compliments for the staff: helpfull, very friendly, resourcefull and genuine hartwarming. I felt at home and welcome. Breakfast is good. Rooms are clean, safe, ok. The nature around Bovec is breathtaking, beautifull and great for outdoorsports like hiking, canoning, kajaks, rafting, ziplines, paragliding.

Review 15:Coffee at breakfast is really lousy, otherwise breakfast is ok. The hotel is in need of some renovation, carpets are stained and somtimes ripped, colours are dark. Blankets on the beds are 5 cm thick and suitable for snow and icy wintercold, much to warm for summer. The hotel can be noisy, I stayed almost 3 weeks and had ONE night a good sleep.

Review 16:Big compliments and thanks voor the staff at the reception and the sisters working in the restaurant. They are really helpfull, kind, know a lot about hikes and spreak well english, german and other languages. The mountains, rivers and waterfalls are beautifull and hiking is great. For outdoor people there is much to do, I definetly recommand coming to Bovec.

Review 17:Room was stuffy and needs refurbishment. Breakfast could be better.

Review 18:We were given a large room at no additional costs. Location is perfect.

Review 19:They don't have double beds.

Review 20:Helpful and friendly staff. The views from the room were amazing.

Review 21:Hard beds, unreliable internet, not re-newer for many years

Review 22:Location in beautiful setting, friendly staff

Review 23:Environment, very beatiful area, with a lot to see. Very gentle staff

Review 24:could hear noise from the street a lot

Review 25:Not much floor space in triple room, shower leaked and no aircon

Review 26:Location was great

Review 27:capacity of car parking is small. impossible to avail WiFi in the room

Review 28:reasonable price, good meal

Review 29:Bed was awful,,, hostel standard

Review 30:Staff were helpful great ovation with parking

Review 31:Nettes Personal. Gutes Buffet

Review 32:Nice people, good food

Review 33:location, staff, omlette at breakfast

Review 34:Outdoor activities

Review 35:Receptionist not very welcoming. Parking not enough for hotel guests. Small room with short-circuit in the electric plugs included. No help with luggage. Buffet breakfast chaotic, food not replenished, had to wait for scrambled eggs.

Review 36:Modern hotel in a beautiful setting and central location, close to restaurants and amenities.

Review 37:Unfortunately, I travel quite a lot and stay in a variety of places.I am neither fussy expect too much for what I pay for and that is good service and value for money, and of course clean even if basic. I felt that the Alp Hotel was the equivalent to a low grade Travelodge. The welcome was unenthusiastic and not very fourthcoming with any information. then when finding our room I can only describe the corridors, of which every other light was not working, was the equivalent of the decor of 'The Shining'. The 1970's theme also continued throughout the hotel. On getting to my room, not only was it two singles pushed together, badly (not a double) there was barely enough room either side on the beds to actually get in. Equally, at the bottom of the bed there was just about enough room to stand but very little space, espcially if there are two of you. I specifially requested a non-smoking room, and was allocated a smoking room. Additionally, on requesting a non-smoking room we were offered one that had no view and even less appealing. I couldnt help but feel that the there was little interest in customer satisfaction. Considering I booked this months in advanced and specifically asked for a 'nice room' as it was our anniversay, I felt that our room was one of the least favourable available. This was most certianly backed up by the running powerpoint show on the LCD screen in the foyer, where ALL rooms were substantially better than ours. I can't help but think that as we had a good deal through Bookings.com, they give you a 'cheaper' room to go with the price. I would not stay here again moreso through ther pricipal of their lack of customer care. the lady that greeted us (dark short hair) did not give a warm nor friendly welcome. it is a shame as first impressions last. the gentleman on reception who delat with us on check, however was much more friendly and had we met him initially I think it would have painted a different 'feel' altogether.

Review 38:The location was the best bit of this hotel and that rfact that it had parking which as a bonus having come from Piran where there is very limited parking.

Review 39:There is not enough parking space for the hotel guests. The staff does not care, they direct you to the public parking. No help for the baggage is provided. Promised wireless does not exist or the signal in the room was to week. In the restaurant and lobby you need password to join the network, which is not offered or provided. Rooms are small and tastelessly furnished. There is no 24h check in. I had to pay in advance, because night clerk does not know how to issue a bill.

Review 40:Everything is a little worn out. The reservation of breakfast tables is a mystery to me, as there was always enough room for everyone. Unfortunately, the insonorisation is rather poor, which matters because there is always someone hanging out noisily at night in the center of the town. Extremely unpleasant was the stay of a youth group in the hotel, who were screaming at the top of their lungs long past 10 pm.

Review 41:The reception staff was very friendly even though we came straight out of the mountains with our backpacks. The beds are OK, the bathroom ist all right as well. There is a lare choice of things for breakfast, which starts at 7 am.

Review 42:hotel is a bit rusty, it needs profound renovation.

Review 43:Very friendly and competent staff; excellent position in the town centre; reasonable fee.

Review 44:Rooms were on the small side for the price

Review 45:Good location

Review 46:Needs reconstruction - clean but old

Review 47:Friedly staff

Review 48:Building looks a little old, but well kept

Review 49:Service was excellent, personnel very friendly

Review 50:No air conditioner, need to pay for wifi

Review 51:Near the bus station. Huge room with balcony facing triglav

Review 52:A fair hotel, but Bovec has better to offer.

Review 53:No bed for two, instead three separate beds in the room. A bit outdated hotel.

Review 54:Location, good value for money.

Review 55:Breakfast was ok but we expected a little better.

Review 56:Nice hotel. Perfect location. Rooms are comfortable.

Review 57:it was noisy. Our windows opened up over the bus loading zone for the tour groups.

Review 58:No airconditioning

Review 59:Very nice staff, good location

Review 60:Located in the beautiful city centre of Bovec. The hotel staff was polite. Clear room with fantastic view.
