Reviews for Rothbury Escape

Review 1:Small television, no normal breaky (just a bit cereal in the room) and 30min out of the heart of Hunter valley

Review 2:The owners were lovely, the bed was comfy!!

Review 3:The table rocked so my 'coffee' kept spilling. Instant coffee! The self serve breakfast was extremely plain. Very large daddy long-leg spiders and/or webs in every corner and above sink. Half the TV channels were unwatchable due to poor service.

Review 4:Beautiful view. Peaceful. Tastefully decorated. Towel warmer.

Review 5:Clean, comfy bed, large room. Clean bright bathroom. Tea coffee maker. Porch to sit outside and enjoy the view with a wine and friends. Complimentary wine, cheeseb& crackers a lovely touch. Oscar the friendly dog. Good nights sleep.

Review 6:TV was very little for a big room, not a big deal

Review 7:Views, cooking facilities, all complimentary stuff was very handy and nice. Thanks a lot will stay again next year

Review 8:Close to the wedding we were attending. Cot available at no charge for our baby. Breakfast and snacks and complimentary wine in our room. Beautiful views from all rooms. Shared big common area kitchen/BBQ.

Review 9:TV was a bit small in proportion to the room size, The sliding mechanisms on the bedroom doors are urgently needing maintenance. Bathroom window needs maintenance could not open it. The window mechanism was broken.

Review 10:Place was quiet, clean and my wife and myself had a pleasant stay.

Review 11:Cost - too expensive for this very basic accommodation

Review 12:The outlook was quite nice with horses & mountains beyond. Wine and cheese on arrival Comfortable bed & clean room/ bathroom

Review 13:Nothing

Review 14:Would be a great place to stay in a group because of great communal lounge and kitchen, with slow combustion fire for cooler weather. Very peaceful setting. Addition of a pool will be great for summer.

Review 15:Nothing!

Review 16:The cabins looked out onto the hills and being away from the main road we woke up to a chorus of birds with kangaroos and wallabies in the background. The cheese plate and the bottle of wine was a lovely touch - we will definitely be back.

Review 17:Noise from other guests was the only downfall in our stay

Review 18:Property owners were lovely, friendly and accomodating

Review 27:open spaces, facilities

Review 28:Common room to hang out with friends, great idea!!

Review 29:perfect bucolic location for a hunter valley getaway, and the owner was very helpful.

Review 30:Overpriced for a very basic motel room with poor quality breakfast supplies.

Review 31:View from room.

Review 32:We had the disabled room right next to the common room kitchen/lounge/dining room and it was very noisy as there was a party/BBQ going on. We left to go on our balloon flight at 4.30 am and there was no hot water for a shower.

Review 33:Remote location. Pizza restaurant near-by.

Review 34:Very average breakfast provisions, poor quality coffee and tea - a plunger and nice coffee would be a cheap but appreciated investment.

Review 35:The hosts were very welcoming and open. The apartments were a good size and very clean. A lovely position overlooking the dam at the back door, highlighted by the complimentary cheese and wine to begin the afternoon. Although adjoining other apartments there was good privacy.

Review 36:a little tired decor.

Review 37:Lovely outlook overlooking rolling hills from very comfortable common room which had an open fireplace and large tv with all kitchen facilities.

Review 38:Access to restaurants in early week limited.

Review 39:The location was very private and secluded. The facilities were first class and location perfect for our quiet break. Restaurants are world class, don't miss MOJO'S.

Review 40:Made to feel welcome, complimentary bottle of wine, cheese and biscuits. Scenic, peaceful location. Impressed with the inviting communal eating/relaxing area.

Review 41:Christine the owner was very welcoming and provided us with lots of information about what to do and where to eat in the local area. The common area was spacious, had a great ambience and had lovely views of the countryside. The welcome gift of wine from the region was most appreciated!

Review 42:Quiet location with nice views of mountains, Excellent cooking facilities and a very nice common room if required. Good place to relax after day touring the wineries and other attractions.

Review 43:Gps or detailed map necessary to find location.

Review 44:Friendly hosts, unobtrusive and welcoming, beautiful quiet surroundings, self contained kitchen and lounge a plus

Review 45:When I booked the room for the night I was actually looking for a B&B style accomodation not a motel style room. Location was not as close as I had imagined to most popular vineyards & restaurants.

Review 46:Hotel style room was OK, clean etc.

Review 47:The booking was to include breakfast and it was assumed this meant acooked breakfast or makings of... However on arrival we were advisedthat cereal and bread for making our own toast were in the room(incidentally there was no bread in our room, but we luckily found somein the community kitchen.) minimal butter and spreads were available. The accommodation manager/owner were out for the night and it appearedwere not home in the morning. We had our toast, washed up and went andbought breakfast else where.A complimentary bottle of wine was in the room as advertised, however we were not asked if we preferred red / white. (we got the white :(...would have much preferred red.)

Review 48:The rooms were pleasant but not glam. And outlook lovely, bed wascomfortable, and room was clean. I liked the community kitchen/ sittingroom, and welcome fireplace We were greeted warmly by the owner.

Review 49:A most pleasant place to stay after a lovely day in the Hunter valley. Room was comfortable and and John and Christine gave us a friendly welcome. Excellent lounge area including full kitchen which would be great for a group stay.

Review 59:Quiet surroundings. Central location for wineries

Review 60:Boring breakfast selection.

Review 61:The large common room.
