Reviews for Hotel Zico

Review 1:The hotel is quite close to the highway, which makes it easy-to-reach, but also not so quiet at night.

Review 2:The rooms were very nice. They had nice custom-made omelettes.

Review 3:Room too dark for any reading so i struggled some to finish my book Tub + faucet need a little upgrade

Review 4:Very nice , comfortable hotel , exceptionally friendly staff, great quality breakfast . I had small issue and immediately I was offered solution

Review 5:The water in the sink wouldn't turn off. Had to call someone. Had to play with it every time to try to get it totally off. The room had a weird smell.

Review 6:The bed was very comfortable, and the room was clean.

Review 7:The heater was close to the bed & a little noisy.

Review 8:The room was great with all amenities. We love the many breakfast options of food & beverages. Location was close to freeways, stores & our families. Staff were helpful & friendly.

Review 9:Price on week days is too high for the offering

Review 10:Friendly Personnell, nice style of the room. Due to vicinity of the freeway a bit loud when opening the door

Review 11:The walls were a little thin but sound never woke us up at night.

Review 12:The staff was extremely nice and helpful. And the breakfast buffet was one of the best i have experienced. The location was great being close to a trail for running and walking in the morning.

Review 13:Place is soulless, like the time you got off the road at 3am at the motel whose fluorescent signage was on the fritz; poorly lit, relatively uncomfortable everywhere.

Review 14:Staff at front desk was terrific.

Review 15:Facility is a little older but I could see upgrades had been made. Would be nice to be able to rent a movie on the tv.

Review 16:Staff was excellent and very helpful. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was more than I expected. Appreciate fridge and microwave in rooms as well as snacks by front desk. Nice amenities.

Review 17:Always stay here when we go to concerts at Shoreline Ampitheater. Super nice clean and comfortable. Staff is friendly. Have a great breakfast included. Great value.

Review 18:The breakfast is bit of a disappointment. Order-made omelets are good but the sausages are small and dry and there's no pastries.

Review 19:Staff are friendly. Hotel is clean, comfortable and conveniently located.

Review 20:Main stair case was undergoing construction throughout my stay. Very expensive considering the average quality of the facilities (but this is generally the case in California especially when availability is low)

Review 21:Convenient location next to two freeways. Clean rooms and friendly staff

Review 22:Entrance to hotel was a little tricky as you had to either do a u-turn at next traffic lights or exit onto highway and then exit up again as there is a median you can't cross to get to hotel. It was pricey, as it seems like an older hotel, however it is under going renovations.

Review 23:Location was good for what we were in town for. Staff was friendly and accommodating.

Review 24:The staff was very friendly and accomodating. They were very helpful as far as where to eat that evening and calling our group of 8 people a cab. We had an excellent experience and would definitely stay here again. Their omelet bar was delicious!

Review 25:Only 2 things : 1.) more coverings of the windows for privacy. Put a curtains instead of blinds. 2.) noise from freeway if you are at the rooms that are directly located or facing the freeway, I had a hard time sleeping because of that.

Review 26:i liked the professionalism of the staff and the overall set up of the hotel.

Review 27:right next to the highway and with no double glazing windows it feels like sleeping outside next all the traffic. Despite ear plugs it's still too noisy

Review 28:The front desk staff was amazing. Very helpful and friendly. I brought my mother for a medical procedure. It was extremely convenient and they allowed us an extended checkout time so she could rest after her procedure.

Review 29:Zico is a favorite. Objection is that, whereever I went there seemed tobe the maid's carts in the middle of the hall ..... 2 or 3 at thetop of the stairs. 1 or 2 always in the lobby, and in the entrance tothe breakfast room. This totally destroys the exceptional aesthetics ofyour hotel.

Review 30:Zico is a favorite, except when the price goes over $120, then Motel 6is a favorite.

Review 31:The entrance walk was pitch black, the Libby was noisy and our room was close to the lobby, the room was small, the entrance off the road required a u turn, not a value spot. We left after one night.

Review 32:The location is pretty bad for two reasosns: 1. The rooms close to highway are very loud. We got one for the first night and I couldn't sleep for almost whole night. NEvertheless, the staff quickly gave us another room - which was very good 2. for family members without a car - the location as a problem: far away from the caltrain, far away from castro etc. And - the first room was pretty "smelly"

Review 33:the staff was very helpful. The beds are comfortable and big. Most of the rooms (but not all) are very good - and quiet for the location

Review 34:Rent was very high for the facilities. Breakfast was not that great.

Review 35:Location ;Center of Silicon Valley and near highway 85. Easy drive to most of the Silicon Valley companies.

Review 36:Nothing

Review 37:This was a really vibrant hotel where they had married the hacienda style outside with pretty courtyard garden areas with a fantastic, modern interior. The reception area with its waterfall feature, colours and furniture shapes took my breath away it was so different from most hotels. The bedrooms had real ornaments on little shelves not just the usual boring hotel art. The staff were professional, welcoming and very helpful.

Review 38:Hotel Zico is set in a garden paradise in tucked away in a hidden corner very close, but insulated from the busy noise of Mountain View's El Camino Real. The staff was unbelievably helpful. We needed a spare bed for our son in a handicapable room that had a king size bed. The additional b ed was in place only minutes after our check-in.

Review 39:Breakfast was not as good as other reviewers thought. No variety in bread and the omelette maker took her break when we arrived. Need to go early to get attention. Entrance to hotel is difficult to get to as it's near exit from freeway.

Review 40:Quiet and comfortable room.

Review 41:Lack of knowledge asked for a shower chair when making a reservation. Get there first person say will send it right to your room.get back that night no chair ask again lady say oh sorry guy was new we don't have those at all.next Morin somebody calls and say do you still want that shower chair...I said you got to be kidding. .that would be great.future trips I will bring my own chair with me.it was very hard for my son to talk a shower that night.gald he was able to take one before we left.

Review 42:Location

Review 43:Right under huge high-voltage electrical tower (not sure how dangerous stray voltage is after one night).

Review 44:Beautiful and clean accommodations, and excellent hot/cold breakfast including omelette bar!

Review 45:First, gave me the wrong room, then put me in the right room starting the second night. Very expensive for what feels like a madeover motel.

Review 46:Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Choice of soft or firm pillows is nice.

Review 47:too short a stay

Review 48:The staff were amazing... we did the Santa Clara Grateful Dead shows, and the staff rolled with the punches, very professional, polite, and funny.... felt very welcomed

Review 49:O Location right off pf freeway was convent, but I worried about noise. One inside I heard no outside noise at all. Breakfast was great- so much more than a continental.

Review 50:Worked out fine for a last minute booking. Nothing exceptional, but the room was satisfying at the right (booking.com) price. The hotel is in same parking lot as an extended stay hotel so there's a sense of skankiness around the property, and really no land around it. But if you just need it for the room it's good.

Review 51:The cart to load luggage was missing when we got there and we had a lot of luggage and had to make several trips from the car to the room. Not too big of a deal and we found it checking out. Also, request a room that isn't adjacent to the 85 freeway/el camino real because we had read reviews before going and heard this and our room sound wise was perfect. :)

Review 52:Friendly staff, beautiful facilities, gorgeous rooms, and comfortable! The price for that night was well worth it. Would book again and very clean!!

Review 53:The staff could be very condescending and the location of the hotel right off the freeway is a little annoying.

Review 54:I really loved the room and how clean it was and the breakfast was great!

Review 55:The breakfast was quite simple. The hotel could score some great points by adding bread options, cheese and deli, and some fruit. Otherwise it was fantastic!

Review 56:The beds were awesome. Pillows and soaps were fantastic!

Review 57:The breakfast needs to improve, because the people who live over 3 days, they would notice the breakfast are same. If possible, the hotel should change the breakfast, no need to change everyday, but 2~3 days to change is good.

Review 58:good enough.

Review 59:The bed was too firm, did not sleep well at all. The power to the TV kept dying, no water provided for the Keurig, squeaky floor, tiny bathroom and tub

Review 60:Cool spanish vibe, very good free breakfast, balcony

Review 61:The location is problematic because of the goofy entrance right next to the freeway. I would add a much more prominent sign near the entrance thats visible before you've crested the hill, and light the road entrance more.

Review 62:I really liked the style of the place.

Review 63:Hotel Zico is the best hotel in Mountain View!! The Staff is super nice, the rooms are good size. The free Breakfast is amazing as well!! I always stay here for business and leisure. The best for your buck!

Review 64:I hated the building's orientation/location. it's very unclear as to where the main enterence/lobby is. I ended up next door,? at the extended stay hotel. they said it happens all the time. For this reason would not return there

Review 65:the staff was helpful

Review 66:very noisy given proximity to highway and incredibly thin walls (could hear everything above and beside our room). also water leaking from the breakfast room ceiling onto our table. bad chlorine smell in lobby. hotel doesn't look as nice as images convey.

Review 67:it's clean. has a laundry room and tasty breakfast which is convenient. but only a half step above a 2 star motel in terms of other factors ...

Review 68:Noise of neighbors, noise of air conditioning/heater, strong-scented air fresheners that are over-utilized, thin windows/outside noise

Review 69:Staff went above and beyond regarding customer service, location in Mountain View, garage parking under hotel is free, free wifi, got a refund when I checked out early due to allergic reaction to sheets/soap (or something in the room) and noise - was not expecting this.

Review 70:No kitchen or restaurant at the hotel.

Review 71:Zico is a great hotel for the area. The service is excellent. The rooms are clean and fresh. The bed is very cormforable...all the basics are great.

Review 72:On one occasion two gentlemen came out to the communal balcony sat outside my room to smoke and one yelled terrible obscenities at his wife /girlfriend, it was two in the morning and it lasted for 30 min. It took forever to get back to sleep. It made the peaceful gentle hotel seem "trashy". These two gentleman should have been asked to leave.

Review 73:I've stayed at this hotel on three occasions and will stay again.

Review 74:The rooms were not impressive. I felt like things needed updating. The price seemed way too much for the accommodations. I would not stay here for the price. I travel a lot and I was very dissatisfied with what they had to offer.

Review 75:The staff was very helpful. The first room I got a key for smelled like mildew. The person at the desk happily found a better room and was more than willing to accommodate and make sure I had what I wanted. It was also close to a ton of shops and food, so the location was great.

Review 76:Pre-check in email requesting preferences which then aren't met upon check in nor are noted on the reservation, strong nauseauting cleaning smell in the rooms, shared balcony where anyone can walk by your room (curtains don't fully block view from balcony glass doors), old hotel with recent touch up, all the parking at your own risk signs in the parking lot

Review 77:Close to freeway, gas stations, and Starbucks; omelette staff person was very attentive (though breakfast area was very extremely short staffed with the same person also restocking the other items)

Review 78:It's better if the breakfast can provide more various types of food or can be changed every one or two days. The providing time of the breakfast shall be extended as well.

Review 79:The staff are very very friendly! The facilities such as GPS and DVD movies are all well provided. The hotel has a good location, which is only 3-minute walking distance from the Route 22 bus top. The breakfast is also very good!

Review 80:the fact that i did not have my credit card with me at the moment so i offered to pay cash n they denied. My. Money even i offered to pay and leave deposit. Its not like they have a. Mini bar or refreshments. .. also the guy at front desk kind rude cus i offered to pay in cash like my money it doesn't. Have value...

Review 81:its a great place good service clean and good rates

Review 82:Small bathroom. Faucet unusual and difficult to manage, dark entrance

Review 83:Good breakfast, quiet room without surrounding noise heard, pleasant, helpful staff.

Review 84:The room faced the road and you could hear road noise. The pillows were too soft.

Review 85:Price and closeness to the people we were visiting. Breakfast was included. Decor was nice. Front desk personnel were very friendly.

Review 86:Not safe for women as a solo traveler. Unstaffed lobby at night. Common veranda to which room doors open, secured by basic deadbolt. Easily kicked in, glass door panels. Staff is horrible. Not knowledgable about the hotel or their jobs. Very poor service. Rooms are nasty. I left this hotel and went to a better one down the road, Avante. The taxi drivers all said that Zico has a very bad reputation for service. They hear passengers complain about Zico a lot. I cannot recommend anyone stay at Zico.

Review 87:Nothing. Could be o.k. choice for travelers who don't care much about the quality of where they stay and have very low expectations. Way overpriced for what it is.

Review 88:The only issue was it was a little noisy being right by the freeway but nothing unbearable.

Review 89:The hotel is very beautiful with a resort yet home-ey feel. It is very clean and cozy. The staff is super friendly and the continental breakfast is outstanding. We had pancakes, bacon, sausage, hashbrowns, made-to-order omelets and starbucks coffee. We will absolutely stay here again! :)

Review 90:When we arrived late in the afternoon, the guy at front desk at a bit rude - not too friendly.

Review 91:This hotel was so nice, very quaint, quiet, clean and comfortable. VERY friendly staff. Free WiFi! Great breakfast! Omelette bar & hot options! Room was comfortable; we had a patio outside with chairs and a table. I LOVE THIS PLACE!

Review 92:Stayed here one night on journey down from San Fran to LA. Downtown Mountain View is about a couple of miles away with plenty of places to eat. Friendly staff. Clean, comfortable room. two managers were inspecting our room for readiness when we arrived. Nice breakfast.

Review 93:the property is very nice and well taken care of. The staff was very helpfull and friendly. The free brekfast was the best free brekfast i have ever had at any hotel. Love the decor very trendy. Overall i have no complaints.

Review 94:Employees are very kind and very helpful. Facility is very clean. Rooms are very spacious, clean and comfortable. I would personally give Hotel Zico a 5 star rating. And would definitely go back and recommend it to my friends and family.

Review 95:It would ha e been nice to have a swimming pool. It is right next to an extended stay hotel, which wasn't as nice.

Review 96:Had a great stay. The breakfast was plentiful. The room was big and roomy. The decor was very pleasant. It is very convenient to the highway. And there is a very nice rail trail right next to the hotel.

Review 97:Good location for first night as we arrived at SFO and immediately headed south. Very friendly, welcoming and helpful front desk. Excellent breakfast to see us on our way next day.

Review 98:AC not always necessary at night but windows have no screens Highway traffic noise can be a little loud depending on which way your room faces

Review 99:Design and decor Very large room Very competitive price for the area Helpful staff

Review 100:No pool or recreation area It is really a spruced up, art directed Motel 6

Review 101:Staff was very helpful Free breakfast very good Free underground parking Nice beds

Review 102:The price is including breakfast, and when we go for breakfast even almost lost. And finally we found a place and i cannot believe that can be called breakfast... Since i'm confused, i try to ask the staff who provide snack there, she was so rude and hard to let her say a word.

Review 103:stayed only one day :P

Review 104:Organization and breakfast

Review 105:For the price it was exceptional, clean, a great space, and with free breakfast in the morning. I enjoyed my stay.

Review 106:Hard to find the lobby entrance at night. Leaky sink faucet in bathroom

Review 107:Love the decor and the landscape. Like the quaint feeling with added quietness one gets.

Review 108:Return travelor

Review 109:Not food, no bar, right between freeway and main road, on the exit, very busy traffic & noisy

Review 110:Good aircon, Good shower

Review 111:nothing!

Review 112:Very nice and clean, nice staff with good restaurant advice. Nicely decorated. Good breakfast!

Review 113:further away from Stanford Medical Center than we expected.

Review 114:Quiet, good value

Review 115:Staff was incredible, breakfast was great. One of the best hotel stays I've ever had for a great price. My friends and I will be back.

Review 116:Room decor was wonderful, staff was exciting and very helpful

Review 117:the distance from the cal train station and city center

Review 118:The staff is good

Review 119:Not really a bad experience, but the driveway is not easy to get to. It took a couple of times around the block too find the way in.

Review 120:The free wifi was horrible. Had to sing off and had better service with my cellular data

Review 121:All in all a very nice place

Review 122:Felt insecure; anyone can come to just before the window which has blind with many openings, from outside of the hotel.

Review 123:Quiet, good bed

Review 124:Lobby construction work was noisy but work was performed during day hours.

Review 125:Atmosphere,attention to detail, youthful vibe, free breakfast.

Review 126:Pool

Review 127:Bed

Review 128:Breakfast was amazing, room was cute, clean, and modern!
