Located in picturesque seaside city of Peniche, Maciel is traditionally decorated with tiled walls and wooden furnishings. It offers rooms with a terrace or a sea view. There is a sun terrace and local beaches of Gamboa are a 5 minutes’ walk away.

Lisbon Portela International Airport is a 1-hour drive away. An airport shuttle is available upon request and free public parking is possible at a nearby location.

Review 1：Spotlessly clean, pleasant reception, better breakfast than we expected. I liked the flamboyant neo-baroque decoration of the room (No. 7) - a nice touch of individuality.

Review 2：The Maciel staff were overwhelmingly kind and accommodating. They treat you as if you are a part of their family. It would be a delight to return to Peniche and stay with them again!!

Review 3：In September it is cooler in Peniche with less tourists which is good but many of the restaurants were closed.

Review 9：It was great from the start friendly staff and a smooth check in, the room was very bright and spotlessly clean the bed was a double not two singles pushed together like other B/B, the en suite bathroom was also spotlessly clean and had soaps and shampoos which is a nice touch. The continental breakfast with great and plentiful. Me and my partner highly recommend Maciel.

Review 37：We enjoyed staying at the Maciel rooms. The location is great near stores, restaurants and ATM. Joao and Rosa were great hosts, always making sure we were happy. Breakfast was tasty and the rooms were clean. They have diff set ups to accomodate groups, couples or families.

Review 41：Hotel Maciel has old wooden floors and therefore gives an old fashioned feeling, but has enough modern touches that make it a wonderful place to stay. The staff is very friendly, although speaking English is sometimes difficult.

I highly recommend that anyone stay at Maciel.It's a great place to use as a bouncing off point to other places.Surfing, Nazare, Obidos, Fatima, etc. All within an hours drive.
