Reviews for Hotel Triglav
Review 1:Tremendously hospitable place. Some furnishings are a bit dated, but it doesn't matter because the rest is so perfect. Don't get me wrong, everything is every nice, but that's the one flaw. Unbelievable breakfast layout for us. It's quiet and away from the mess of the main town, but still only a 30 minute walk by the lakeside trail. To me, the best Bled experience yet.
Review 2:The hotel is not located in the city center, it takes 30 minutes or so to walk to the center.
Review 3:My brother and I spent the new years in Triglav hotel. It felt just like home, very friendly staff and great atmosphere.
Review 4:Not a bad experience to report.
Review 5:The location was excellent, giving lovely views over Lake Bled. The sauna and swimming pool were very good. The food and service were second to none.
Review 6:Exceptional little hotel with friendly staff that can't go out of there way to maximise your enjoyment of stay. In a stunning location with great facilities and a fantastic restaurant. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would like to thank all involved at the hotel that made us feel so welcome.
Review 7:Tremendous hotel! I have made over 60 booking.com reviews and have given only a handful of 10's. This hotel is a 10 among those 10's. It is beautiful, spotless, classy, uniquely and tastefully decorated, quiet, and comfortable. The desk and restaurant staff are skillful, knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. The breakfast and restaurant are great. The view of Lake Bled from the room balcony is stunning. And I didn't even try the indoor pool, sauna, massage, or wine cellar. This is just a hotel I can recommend unreservedly.
Review 8:The wifi. It was intermittent on level 2 and there were periods when the connection would be dropped every minute and takes almost that long to re-connnect. Of course with views like that one should be looking out and not at electronic devices!!
Review 9:The stunning location, elegant interior decor and excellent staff all contributed to an enjoyable stay. We were in room 204 which had a nice long balcony and fantastic views of Lake Bled. The lovely young man who set-up the sauna for me has pretty much spoiled hotel saunas for me! Candles, aromatic diffusers and a carafe of iced water with slices of fresh lemon meant the experience was more like a sauna in a spa. Superb. If only the rooms had tea coffee making facilities then everything would've been perfect!
Review 10:We were disappointed to not be told on arrival that the hotel could not offer dinner on our second night of the stay. Surprisingly being residents did not seem to matter and bookings from non-residents took priority. After approximately 2 hours of uncertainty a table was found! During in the course of dinner it was obviously that not all tables were taken. Disappointing and clouded our view of our stay.
Review 11:Very good location with views over the lake.
Review 12:As a result of a mix-up with the booking I was upgraded to a suite on the third floor with a lake view and balcony, so that was a bonus. Had an excellent meal in the restaurant on the second night - it's often full, so I would recommend you book ahead if you want to eat there. Otherwise, you will probably have to go to the other side of the lake to Bled village. Very pleasant staff also.
Review 13:1. They messed up my reservation. I booked a suite... ended up in a standard room. The young man that checked us in completely ignored this. The young lady at checkout discounted the room a little. That is why hotel staff received poor rating. 2. Beds were the most uncomfortable so far this trip. 3. Door to shower came off tracks 2 times. 4. We arrived dining area toward the end of breakfast...45 minutes. Staff never replenished anything that needed attention while we were there.
Review 14:Restaurant staff at dinner... outstanding ! Great view from room and dining area.
Review 15:We stayed here at the start of our honeymoon and had our 8 month old son with us. The staff were very accommodating and made sure every aspect of our stay went well. They were sensitive to our needs as a couple with a young child and facilitated our room and dining to work for us. The staff clearly demonstrated enthusiasm for their own jobs and making our stay a pleasant one, from reception to dining.
Review 16:hotel not signposted from Bled Jezero station, so we walked down a steep hill in 37 degrees for nothing!
Review 17:the superb views from the balcony the lunch- they let us order even though we arrived a little late and the food was excellent
Review 18:Unfortunately a promoter had a concert on the beach one night and the stage faced the hotel and hillside. The music played until after 1:00 am on a Wednesday night. No one in the hotel could sleep, including the staff. They asked many time for the police to intervene but to no avail. It was not the hotel's fault but it was a very discouraging problem.
Review 19:Very nice location. It is at the opposite end of the lake from the main town making it quiet. There are two nice beaches a short distance away. The breakfast was excellent. Every morning the waiter would ask if we would like eggs prepared individually to order in addition to all of the foods on the buffet. That is a treat when traveling in Europe.
Review 20:I need more space to rave about this hotel! It's everything we like. It's family owned, and it's obvious with the warm decor. Every staff person made us feel welcome and were friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious, our balcony had the most incredible view, we started and ended our day looking at the view. Breakfast has many choices and they will fix you an egg and a cappuccino/latte, whatever you like. Dinner was awesome. It's a dining destination in itself. Having a pool to start the day or end after hours of walking is such a treat. Their bar is charming and comfortable. The staff is knowledgeable on wine. They gave us helpful recommendations and we felt they went above and beyond to drive us to another restaurant so we didn't have to worry about drinking and driving (the other restaurant drove us home!). They have a spa room and if we realized it, we would have booked a massage. We stayed three nights, it's enough, but we could have stayed 4. Lake Bled is one of the top most beautiful places we have visited. We originally had reservations elsewhere, so glad we changed. We were on the quiet side of the lake. Though, you can not find a bad view of this lake. The beauty is unbelievable. We would return to Lake Bled and this Hotel. 10 plus stars!
Review 21:No pot to cook hot water and the shower head is leaking
Review 22:Hotel do have heater as they promised, the manager is kindly to find a balcony without tree to cover the view, and the massage is fantastic
Review 23:Breakfast could be a bit better
Review 24:Extremely attentive and helpful service. Really felt like valued and beloved family guests. Hospitality was unique by any standards. Amazing restaurant. And of course the GREAT VIEW!
Review 25:Dinner menu is a tad fancy--could be tricky for people with kids, allergies etc. However, the waiter was helpful and accommodating about substitutions.
Review 26:Room had a balcony overlooking the Bled island, so you could lie in bed and watch the little boats skimming over the water. Gourmet chef in the kitchen, for sure, and a lavish spread for breakfast. Go early to breakfast to nab that corner table with the view on BOTH sides! Nice sized pool in the basement, also with a glass wall overlooking the lake. Staff are super nice without being unctuous. As a guest, you feel supported and as if you are enjoying a treat just by being here.
Review 27:Everything was fine.
Review 28:Nice family run hotel in historic building near the rail station. Excellent view of the lake. Cosy dinning room, good selection of food and drinks. Small wellness centre is a bonus. Very nice and helpful staff with excelent English.
Review 29:The staff was really very nice and helpful. The hotel is on a hill, where there is a beautiful view of the lake. The decor is old style and very nice. It gives a nice homey feeling. There are two saunas and a pool (all free for guests). The dinner is very good - we enjoyed it very much. Also, breakfast is nice, you can either enjoy continental breakfast or have a cooked breakfast. Apart from tea and coffee, the staff will make you capuccino free of charge. There is also free parking next to the hotel.
Review 30:Great location with amazing view of the lake. The staff were just excellent. Room was modern and clean. The breakfast is not to be missed. Highly recommended!!
Review 31:Nothing.
Review 32:The staff were just excellent. They accomodated my desire to stay an extra night, they found me an adapter, they offered recommendations, nothing was too much effort. The hotel itself was a perfect balance between old world charm and modern convenience and its location can not be beaten. Watching the sun go down over Lake Bled is a memory that will stay withme for a long time. Plyst the breakfast was excellent! Highly recommend.
Review 33:The staff was not trained. Our air conditioning did not work. When complained at night, the person on the front desk said that it probably was broken and that she could send someone at 7 AM!!!. Next morning at checkout, front desk told us that all windows must be closed in order to use the system. When I asked why didn't they say this the night before he said that i should understand that the lady was new (just working for 2 days).. in order words, MY problem. Also the restaurant is over priced. Took us 2 Hours to have dinner - just because the waiter thought it was fancy to take several minutes between courses.
Review 34:Although it has a nice view of the lake you don't see the castle.
Review 35:I like the style of the hotel, however the old fashioned beds should be replaced.
Review 36:Location is great, the view is breathtaking, staff is super nice and the food is exceptional.
Review 37:while very recently renovated, it was for us a bit too old-fashioned and eclectic in terms of decoration despite the quality, the restaurant was almost empty
Review 38:very friendly staff, excellent choice of wines at dinner, high quality food - we had a quick lunch in the hotel and returned for dinner; very nice views over the lake
Review 39:The rooms aren't that well insulated for noise, so one morning our noisy neighbours children woke us up at 7am. Every other night was fine, and there is no other noise nearby.
Review 40:The food in the restaurant was fantastic. The staff were very helpful. The view over the lake was amazing, including from in the swimming pool.
Review 41:ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!
Review 42:Went out of their way delivering michelin star food to our room (something im sure is not regular) The view was phenomenal from the balcony, great location. The guy at the desk recommended as spectacular drive around soca, the mountains, russian chapel, boka waterfall (slap). Such a friendly welcoming group!
Review 43:If you're not in shape, the walk up the hill from the lake to the hotel is steep, so it can be difficult. However, it is just a short walk.
Review 44:The view from our room was awesome (in the true sense of the word); the hotel is directly overlooking the island. The staff spoke excellent English, were very helpful and courteous. It's about a 25 minute leisurely walk from downtown and only 5 minutes from the lake. The breakfast is great.
Review 45:The friendly staff, service, food, view and accommodation was outstanding. The location was great; out from the main strip of hotels and a lovely short walk to get to the lake.
Review 46:Lake view rooms are too expensive, also would have liked a bar rather than the wine cellar.
Review 47:Lovely hotel, excellent food we received upgraded rooms that had a lake view - definitely worth it for the view and larger room - if you can afford it. Staff were friendly and very helpful.
Review 48:Excellent service, perfect location, great Slovenian food and wine. We had a truly relaxing and unforgettable time at Hotel Triglav. We look forward to a return stay. Our balcony room had a most incredible view of Lake Bled and the surrounding area.
Review 49:5km from park entrance. Very clean and comfortable bed.
Review 50:The setting is stunning. Food and wine excellent.
Review 51:Personal service /staff location views food/ wine
Review 52:Staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. Spectacular view of the lake.
Review 53:Staff calm and lovely and hotel gorgeous with superb views
Review 54:Room had no view - of anything. Only window was a velux window on the sloping ceiling.
Review 55:Staff were excellent and very helpful.
Review 56:Magnificent view, great breakfast, nice sauna and pool
Review 57:The laundry came back damp
Review 58:beautifully restored hotel. Nice staff. Beautiful view delicious dinner
Review 59:Most helpful staff and exemplary food in their restaurant in addition to the most scenic view from the rooms made our stay most comfortable.
Review 60:the view and the staff
Review 61:the bird song and view of the lake, the hotel facilities and the staff.
Review 62:The cleanliness can be just for a point better
Review 63:Grat view to the lake
Review 64:nothing
Review 65:great stuff, The hotel location and view to lake bled was wonderfull, everything was great
Review 66:Breakfast very disappointing
Review 67:Location dinner was super not to miss
Review 68:A very good dinner
Review 69:Breakfast not very exciting. Quite expensive compared to other places we stayed in Slovenia. Small tv and hard for all of us to find comfortable spot to watch. Shower not very comfortable.
Review 70:Beautiful view from balcony! Great bedroom, and lots of cozy details. Friendly staff. Internet easy to connect to and worked perfectly.
Review 71:Leaving :)
Review 72:View from the room. The food was fantastic. We had lunch there when we arrived and decided to come back for dinner as well. Staff was very accommodating. On our next trip to Europe we will spend more time in Slovenia and an extra day at Hotel Triglav.
Review 73:Nothing
Review 74:Great view! I booked one of the cheaper rooms but since they had some availability they upgraded me to a room with a view of lake bled (without me asking). They also have bikes available that can be rented for 10 euros a day - this was an excellent option to see all of bled on one day.
Review 75:We liked everything. It is our second stay. we also stayed in 2009.
Review 76:Everything but especially there is simply nothing like sitting on the balcony overlooking the lake and the island. Nowhere else like it!! The food is gourmet.
Review 77:Nothing really.
Review 78:The central location for cycling. The personal touches in the decor. The special attention to details that make the stay more comfortable and convenient. They have really tried to think what one needs when away from home. The friendly atmosphere. The fabulous breakfast buffets.
Review 79:The view from our room was outstanding. We sat and looked at the lake and the island from our balcony at sunset and the water color of the lake was exquisite.
Review 80:Rainy weather from our first morning onwards.
Review 81:Superb view over lake Bled and monastery. Breakfast with fresh fruits was satisfying. Easter dinner in restaurant was very good, especially lamb. Foot massage and swimming pool offered relaxation. The finnish sauna was almost like an original.
Review 82:Little far out of town to walk but easy to drive. Yes google shows it about 150 meters farther down the road than it actually is
Review 83:Beautiful location - excellent access to lake. GREAT staff!!
Review 84:Staff were so helpful and incredibly nice. Stunning location. Best breakfast we've had that week. I don't see why people complain of it not being in the center of town. It's better because it's not in the center of town! Stunning views, and only 15 mins walk to town.
Review 85:Thought the restaurant was good but really a little TOO fussy and expensive... more rustic cuisine might be more appropriate
Review 86:Location, décor, views, welcome
Review 87:Off-season quite off the beaten-track. Not many nearby amenities / shops.
Review 88:Location, staff, food were excellent. Wonderfully helpful staff, beautiful location and reviews, comfortable rooms. Excellent food and wine menu available. Lovely swimming pool with breathtaking view of the lake.
Review 89:friendly stuff, great location with a beautiful view of the lake, the selection of Slovenian food for breakefast (among othr. home made jam pear/khaki),I reccommend a massage
Review 90:Upon the morning of departure there was no warm water, which is rather inconvenient in the middle of february just before another long ride home. In addition we booked a double bed room. The double bed consisted of two single beds that kept sliding away from each other with every time you roll over.
Review 91:The hotel has a great view over the lake, although it should be noted it is a bit out of the center of Bled. Walking would take about 20 minutes, by car it is under 10. The hotel itself looks very nice, decorated in a classical way. Overall we had a pleasant stay here with some minor hiccups. I don't think the hotel suited our expectations completely but it was well within the acceptable.
Review 92:A long walk from town in the rain if you don't have a car.
Review 93:Great view, proximity to the train station, and old photos on display around the hotel. Good restaurant.
Review 94:It was a little cold. Staff provided us additional blankets and radiator
Review 95:The location is great. The view of the lake is amazing. The staff was outstanding, very helpful, personal and kind. The restaurant has great dishes. Room was very clean and comfort.
Review 96:Stunning views, comfortable and well-decorated rooms. The hotel is situated on the far side of the lake from town, which made it even more relaxing. The restaurant was also excellent. We really enjoyed our stay - highly recommended.
Review 97:There was nothing detrimental to comment on.
Review 98:The location and the views. Also, its close to the nearest station to the lake and therefore very accessible for those who use that form of transport.
Review 99:This was one of the most beautifully located hotels we have ever stayed at. The room was wonderful Iots of light), good AC, it was clean and comfortable, minutes from the lake. The staff were very helpful and the breakfast was delicious. It had free parking and the atmosphere was very relaxing. I would definitely recommend this hotel!
Review 100:Our balcony view of Lake Bled was without a doubt the best view of this renowned breathtaking spot in Slovenia. Breakfast in the fine dining room overlooking the lake was a delicious beginning for our days in friendly Slovenia. The hotel was a delightful return to the glorious days of a grand hotel with all its comforts and luxurious touches at wonderfully reasonable prices. And, the service was utterly superb. Our kind concierge was helpful at every turn and was even able to arrange a driver to transport us to Venice. WOW!
Review 101:When we arrived Bled in the evening, neither bus nor taxi out side of the train station, we called the hotel, the staff Ziga arranged a car for picking up us. He also helped us to check the train schedule on the next day. He is professional and willing to help. Very nice hotel, with excellent location.
Review 102:Google map directions were incorrect. Had trouble finding it because itwas dark and the distances given in the directions were incorrect.
Review 103:Great views of Lake Bled from a hillside location overlooking thelake in Slovenia - from the rooms, the restaurant and the winecellar. Excellent restaurant and local wine selection. Friendly, competent and helpful staff. Great walking paths. A really good valueand well worth the stay.
Review 104:Very good hotel with nice views to the lake and island. Tasty breakfast with some local food to choose from as well. Hotel is situated in a calm part of lake Bled.
Review 105:we adored every moment, extremely liked the swimming pool with the landscape of the lake and the mountains, staff was extremely nice, friendly and helpful. There was perfect comfort and everything was thought for the clients. The restaurant is also very worth to go. Breakfast was high-quality and consisted of fresh made food.
Review 106:We went early in the year and it was very quiet (no fault of the Hotel!). The piano bar no longer has the piano. Its quite a steep walk down to the lake path, which may be difficult for people who have trouble walking, but a cab into town isnt expensive.
Review 107:The views were spectacular. Friendly & helpful staff. Cosy atmosphere. Decor/ decoration lovely. Pool and sauna for relaxation after a day of walking.
Review 108:The double bed(made up of two singles) slid apart, perhaps I should havementioned it. I am sure they would have tried to resolve it.
Review 109:Beautiful location, super accommodating staff. Safe area with gloriouswalks around the lake. Delicious food at the hotel's restaurant.Wehave stayed twice and would love to return again. It is an idyllic spot!
Review 110:Hotel Triglav was a great choice for our short trip to Bled. Although abit more expensive than expected, it is worth the money because helpfulstaff, food, rooms and lake view from every corner of the hotel areamazing and we would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone.
Review 111:The view from the hotel is amazing. Many visitors to Lake Bled make the arduous hike up a narrow, steep path to catch a fleeting glimpse of the famed island in the lake. From hotel Trglav, you can enjoy that view from the comfort of you balcony. Getting to the hotel isn't too hard. The location is far from the hustle of Bled, and that is a good thing. The best surprise was the restaurant. The food, expertly paired with local wines was first-rate and the best food we had on our trip.
Review 112:It is only a slight thing but the hotel is not in Bled itself and could be difficult to find without very accurate instructions and preferably a map. Clients might think it unnecessary to take a map as Bled is such a small place but believe me it was a bit of a challenge finding it first and even second time - and my powers of direction are usually very good.
Review 113:Very friendly and helpful but unassuming staff. The food was absolutely out of this world and the maitre d' had infinite patience when it came to discussing Slovenian wines. I heard him say that he thought the view from the restaurant window was the best in Slovenia but I think that the view from our balcony was even better. Down to Lake Bled and from the side up over the mountains. Spectacular.
Review 114:The only things we didn't like (but they didn't take away from ourstay) were:- They don't seem to do double beds.. (only 2 singles put together) - The pillows were really soft and uncomfortable (with no alternatives) - Our bathroom didn't have a hook for the shower (but the showers in the pool area were great) - No tea and coffee making facilities in the room - If you go for dinner in the restaurant, book early as the service will be slow (not a bad thing, just don't go if you're really hungry!) We do think it's just the best location on the lake! You must visit Slovenia!
Review 115:Location, location, location! Not only was the view from the hotel andour room amazing but we loved that it was away from the centre of Bledand that you couldn't even see the high rises from the hotel. There is alovely restaurant just down on the shore (down some steps) near therowing centre which does some great pizzas and there is a smallsupermarket nearby for basics. The hotel restaurant itself is great forfine dining and we really enjoyed the 7-course tasting menu there on ourlast night (we were there on honeymoon). The staff were very friendlyand superb and all speak excellent English. The swimming pool and saunawere great too especially as it rained the week we were there. The wholeplace had a very clean feel to it. Their massage therapist I think mustbe the best in Slovenia! Other great things: parking on site, hotel wasvery quiet (effective windows!); an abundant breakfast and a balcony inthe room was great too. Hotel Triglav is recommended for a littleretreat and place to rest and recover!
Review 116:It was a little difficult to locate as it was above town and lake.
Review 117:The reception staff went beyond duties to make our stay easy and enjoyable. The decor in the bedrooms wais a little bit old world with inadequate lighting, but the electronics were very modern in the common areas. Hotel is in a beautiful setting.
