Hotel Insula sells fast on our site. Located on a small island in Tulcea, Hotel Insula offers air-conditioned rooms and free Wi-Fi. The on-site restaurant is open 24 hours a day and serves Romanian cuisine. The city centre is 1.2 miles away and the hotel is directly at the shore of the Ciuperca Lake.
All rooms feature a flat-screen cable TV, wooden floors, a minibar and windows with mosquito nets. A bathroom with free toiletries, a hairdryer and a shower is standard in each room and some rooms also have a seating area.
A public outdoor swimming pool, the train station and the local marina can all be reached within 2 minutes on foot.

Review 1：The restaurant which is smoking is great for me as a smoker but no good for my young son. Just means sit and smoke till the food is ready to take back to the room.

Review 3：Potential noise from wedding ceremonies in the nearby restaurant. Fixed menus for breakfast; additional items (like a coffee or a tee) have to be paid. Breakfast is rather basic.

Review 6：Beautifull hotel on own island in lake. Also there is secure parking, restaurant, garden... restauranr isn't even expencive. I parked car on free public parking in front of the hotel and hasn't had any troubles. Staff speaks english. Girl on reception even called to arange me a boat trip.

Review 9：Loud music! With good weather it is nice to sit outside , on the large terrace. But loud, booming rap music pops up soon enough. inside the restaurant it is worse. moreover the restaurant is dark . Not a very friendly place. Very average food.

Review 12：Friendly staff, we could cancel the last nigth without fees and had free left luggage, in order to sleep in Sulina. Location, is beside the bus station and behind the port,and 15 min walk to center.

Review 19：Helpful and welcoming staff. The restaurant open 24/7 which provided outstanding value for money. Its position on an island close to the centre of Tulcea.

Review 20：We had booked to have breakfast but we're not told / given the voucher so paid in the restaurant. When checking out we then paid for the voucher - hence paying for breakfast twice. We were told that the money couldn't be returned and that maybe we wanted another drink in the bar with the voucher. Not too much of an issue as it wasn't too expensive. Being told about the voucher on arrival would have been helpful!

Review 21：We only stayed one night before heading into the delta. It was a great location if arriving by bus or train and for buying ferry tickets. There was a nice lake behind the hotel and you can walk around the danube towards town. The room was comfortable and we enjoyed the food. We would definitely stay again if passing through.

Review 27：The air-conditioning did not work in our room. The staff switched us to another room in the air conditioning did not work in that room either. They charge for parking our bicycles which is the first I've ever seen in my life. The adjoining restaurant had great views of the lake but they had a way of nickel and diming you for every extra charge they could. And the food was quite average.

Review 38：The hotel is situated on a small "island" linked to the "mainland" by an arched bridge. Lake view from my room was quite nice. 24h restaurant! Taking breakfast right by the lake was very enjoyable. The location is great (I found it very easily coming from the west), and the train station and ferry port are only a few minutes walk away. The city center is also within walking distance.

Review 46：Breakfast is not buffet, just some pre-set menus that you can choose from. No problem for us, but might get tricky for couples with kids. All the water from the shower goes all over the bathroom floor, as there is no bathtub.

Review 76：The walls were kind of thin as I woke up at 6 am due to my neighbour's snoring … The shower water reaches the toilet seat therefore half of the bathroom is soaked. Watch your step as it is very slippery.

Review 84：Staff weren't particularly friendly and rooms were basic but okay (ridiculous mis-matching decor though). The rooms were starting to show signs of wear and lack of attention/upkeep. I suspect this place might start to get quite grotty in the next few years. Where this place really fell down was the restaurant. We had to wait 1.5 hours for our dinner!!! No apology or even bread to keep us going! And when it arrived the quality was absolutely appalling. Worse than what you'd get at your local Weatherspoones. Just lots of fried cardbroad. Breakfast was sadly no better, and made worse by a group of about 14 people that had clearly been up drinking all night. It was a massive dining area - drunken noisey people from the night before should be kept seperate from morning hotel diners. A really really disappointing place. I would definitely not recommend it. I also didn't like the rest of Tulcea. But the Delta is amazing! So you'll probably have to pass through here to visit there.

Review 94：The bathroom is a bit strange, with the drenage in the middle of the floor. The water remained on the floor for hours, making quite dangerous the usage of hairdrier in the bathroom where is fitted. It can get quite noisy if there is a party in the place opposite on the beach. In the rooms on the ground floor you can hear the water from the upper floor. Book first floor, or sleep with the bathroom door closed.

Review 95：The room was clean and everything was new. The view over the lake is very nice. The restaurant is open 20 hours, convenient for early breakfast. Wifi was excellent.

Review 96：AC has run out of the gas. Bathroom floor is poorly designed so the water cannot be drained completely. There are many bars around the hotles inTulcea, but it is very hard to find a good restaurant. It is better to buy some food in supermarket and make your own meals.
