Reviews for Apartamentos Salema Praia Club

Review 1:The WiFi was very poor. There was building/improvement work which started in the morning at 8.30 am, and that meant a lot of noise if you wanted to stay in the apartment during the day.

Review 2:I liked the view, the situation, the friendly and help full staff.

Review 3:Excellent staff, a little quaint, but a great address for a stay for a few days. I had lost my charger and it was seemingly no problem for the staff to drive home and get one for me!!What a service! Highly recommended!

Review 4:The hill! The disused shops and restaurant on site.

Review 5:Although the apartments were built in the early eighties, they have not been modernised and retain the original fittings and furniture. But, they are freshly decorated, everything works, are very clean and not shabby. The café/shop situated near to our No: 18 was excellent.

Review 6:The furniture needs some improvements.

Review 7:The Stuff was very friendly and polite. They spoke good English and was very helpful. The view was great.Directly by a friendly little supermarket and bistro, and!! Laundry service.Nice pool.WLAN 80%good.

Review 8:No basic ingredients to cook. (Salt and pepper).

Review 9:Very nice place. Relaxing and peacefull. Nice pool. Near the beach. The studio was comfortable. Very good value for money. The region is charming.

Review 10:The lounge furniture was a bit old and uncomfortable.

Review 11:Great location only a short walk from the beach and village with plenty of restaurants and a good (small) grocers. Large balcony with a view of the pool and the sea. Lovely pool - quite large. Well equipped apartment with kettle, toaster and microwave.

Review 12:The apartment is really tired and needs bringing up to speed. The chairs and settee I am sure are the original ones and are very uncomfortable. The dining room chairs are unsteady, probably because the wood is dried out. Lacks tlc.

Review 13:We have stayed at Salema many times over the last 30 years so know the area really well. The comments opposite do not reflect the office and cleaning staff who are doing their best to keep everything going. We understand the owners don't want to spend any money on them - a great pity

Review 14:The very simple and dated decoration.

Review 15:The location is just about in the village center / beach. The pool (big and for children), the space of the lower apartments.

Review 16:It's not brand spanking new, but that has it's charm as well. There are dogs barking sometimes, but that didn't bother us that much.

Review 17:Just a quick stroll down the roaf and you are in the middle of Salema and at the beach. Lovely little town situated perfectly on the south coast and close tothe west coast (15 min. drive).

Review 18:Our room didn't have a balcony. Water pressure in shower was sporadic. In

Review 19:There was a lovely pool for guests. The location was a 5 minute walk from town. It was very quiet.

Review 20:In the off season when the weather is cooler it would be better to have access to a wider selection of TV channels in other languages.

Review 21:Good for self-innovators or people looking for a holiday free of pressure or the typical tourist site. Close to good hiking and historical sites for those with a car.

Review 22:Apt. Is a bit musty and could use a good cleaning. The bed is a cot style and a bit uncomfortable. It'd be nice to have dish washing soap. There are sooo many flies everywhere in Portugal!

Review 23:The club has a wonderful pool for swimming and lounging and a view of the Atlantic Ocean. It is a short walk down a hill to the village, beach, delicious restaurants and bars. Our stay was very relaxing!

Review 24:The apartment is a little bit old school.

Review 25:The apartment is big and clean, has a nice balcony and and wonderful ocean and swimming pool view. The kitchen is fully equiped. The distance to the beach is also perfect - only about 300 meters!

Review 26:-Dogs barking constantly through the night. Woke up at 7am each morning to a dog barking RIGHT outside my window. -Animal feces, dog and bird, was distributed fairly evenly throughout the entire property. -The place is just run-down. I mean really, everything is rusted, there were cracks in the walls, the shutters did not close leaving the room unbearably hot, furnishings dirty and quite poor in general. -Did I mention the dogs? I swear I can still hear the barking. It did not stop for 8 days. What I eventually found is that one side of the "Beach Club" is actually a low-cost housing area in which some locals live. These locals locked three dogs in their apartment. The barked incessantly the entire time. When they barked, the set off dogs around the neighborhood. It was like living in an animal shelter.

Review 27:Location was ok...

Review 28:Nothing

Review 29:Location

Review 30:very nice + friendly owners

Review 31:The location was good, the people were friendly, the little market was handy, and we enjoyed the terrace.

Review 32:Apartments need updating

Review 33:Wonderful views and beach

Review 34:Although rooms were reasonably comfortable and clean could do with updating

Review 35:All facilities close by

Review 36:The steep walk uphill to the apartment was rough

Review 37:Loved the pool and the views

Review 38:No easy extras in the cupboards....no salt, pepper, etc. No dish soap ??!

Review 39:Loved the balcony

Review 40:Great location, helpful staff, accommodating unit

Review 41:noisy water heater that kept us up for two of our three nights. noisy cafe.

Review 42:location, traditional feel apartment

Review 43:Poor bathroom facilities

Review 44:Sea view and wonderful beach

Review 45:Cleanliness of comon areas, very poor!!!

Review 46:Space, well equiped apartment. Calm near beach. All minimum services nearby.

Review 47:- furnitures need an upgrade

Review 48:- the space of the flat - kitchen fully equiped - safety measures against fire - the pool - service

Review 49:Bit dated, and public areas quite dirty. Felt the tiles needed a good sweep and scrub

Review 50:Good location, reasonable size, we had a studio. Pool very nice and well kept

Review 51:The pool was out of service for the all time we were there, we booked extra this place cause of the pool) and we didn't have a discount for it, the reception was closed at 7pm so if had to go to the safe for whatever reason was impossoble.

Review 52:The location was great.

Review 53:I found the neighborhood noisy and run down. The apartment was not serviced while we were there (no rubbish removal).

Review 54:The apartment was clean and well-equipped.

Review 55:Warm water only for fast shower available, otherwise you have to waittill the tank is full again. Totally lack of Internet service and theyassure they don't have Internet in the reception as well. We neededit for an emergency and they said they didn't have service. Theshops close to the apartments were all close. Looks like a place thatonce had life but now is almost dead.

Review 56:Location is great.

Review 57:the place is amazing for any type of holiday, perfectly located, all the facilities are very good, swimming pools ,but most of all I would like to say A BIG OBRIGADO!!! to Esmeralda and Paula- the hotel staff . I will recommend your hotel to anyone and see you next year!!! best wishes from Krakow!!!

Review 58:It was a shame the pool bar and restaurant were closed but this was not a major issue.

Review 59:Great size of apartment with a lovely view. The pool area was clean and well kept and the kids had a great time in the pool. We thought the accommodation was excellent value.

Review 60:The apartment smelled of old cigarettes. The hotel gates were not closed at any time, and thus ground floor with balcony did not feel safe. Also, the room next door was being refurbished and we were bothered by drilling and hammering noises. Sofa and beds were horrible, and the general impression of the hotel was that it was worn down.

Review 61:Location, close to the beach. Kitchen and balcony were decent.

Review 62:The pool area was open only from 10 to 19, so having an early morningswim wasn't possible. Even though the kitchen was decently equippedand spacious, there were some minor things missing - like a biggerknife. I was also a bit surprised that we had to go to shop to buy ourown washing liquid and brush to wash dishes. These (as well as anyshower gel/soap) were not included. Anyway, the apartment was socheap that it was after all understandable!

Review 63:We got friendly welcome and were lead to a bigger apartment that we hadreserved without any extra cost. We could enjoy dinners on our terraceand saw a nice glimpse of ocean from there. The pool area was pleasantand tidy with good views towards the sea. Also the village of Salema ismore pleasant and quieter than neighbouring holiday resorts.

Review 64:The all complex it's rundown, needing a "facelift", the gallery has all the shops closed except the café (not a good feel at arrival). The reception opens only at 10am and closes at lunch time.

Review 65:Spacious 2 bedroom apartment, well equiped in terms of kitchen and table ware, fridge, microwave, toaster, and water kettle. It had 4 beds and a sofa in the living room where 2 more people could sleep. Small café at the gallery selling also some essential groceries (fresh bread every day) and quick meals (salad, toasts, burguers).

Review 66:Nothing, loved it, sea a bit cold! If I had to say anything!!!!

Review 67:A fantastic location, just a few minutes to walk to Salema Beach.Compared with other resorts along this stretch of coast this was leastcrowded. The hotel was a little old, but was 100% clean and the staffwere doing a fantastic job. We loved it here and would go back. TheManager of the resort was a lovely lady and tried very hard to cater foreveryone. Cosmopolitan resort, French, German, English and Spanish. So agood mixture. Food in the town was extremely good although compared toSpain a little expensive, but, it is on the Algarve and it is on thebeach. Really nice Indian restaurant too, lovely people very friendly, they do a really good bottle of Portuguese House Wine! Give this place atry, its cheap, a little run down, but this does not in anyway make yourstay less comfortable. Lovely views of the sea and pool area which iskept lovely and clean and tidy at 9.00 A.M. every day!

Review 68:It looked like it was the hottest spot on the beach 20 years ago and hasnot been updated since. The sofa cushions smelled a bit dusty and thebathroom was dark. If the owners updated the amenities both in the roomand out, I would Have put perfect for everything. For exame my roomphone which didnt work must have been a 1980s model and the tv Was veryold. All that being said, it Was clean, comfortable and had everythingwe needed.... Except Maybe wifi.

Review 69:The location and set-up were perfect. We have two small kids and the twobedroom was perfect. The pool was also perfect. The cafe ten feet fromour aparthotel was also great. In general it had everything we needed.

Review 70:This place is down and out. Yes, it was cheap and reasonably clean and pool is gorgeous and well maintained, but the "beach club" is nonexistent. The shops are broken down and shuttered, as is the bar/cafe by the pool. You can walk down the hill to numerous restaurants with bars and a couple of shops, but there is something eerie about staying here. A bit of ghost town feel, except for the seasoned Northern Europeans that seem to flock here each year. Most of them appeared to be regulars. One couple was booking next year in advance and said this was their 27th year at this place. Should have asked them what it was like in its heyday. Also - single twin beds in a room booked as a double? Felt like we were sleeping in a convent, even after we pushed the beds together. Might have been the picture of the Virgin Mary staring at us from across the room.

Review 71:Location and size of the apartment were great.

Review 72:This really was a lovely place to stay! Very clean, lovely people, agreat location with a really nice pool. Brilliant for being so close tothe centre of Salema and the beach. Will definitely return, and highlyrecommend it to families.

Review 73:seemed a bit dated, storefronts were deserted

Review 74:location, price

Review 75:The difficulty to connect to the internet and TV.

Review 76:The tranquility of the place, the views, and the easy acess to the beach and supermarket.

Review 77:no (snack)bar next to the pool, fence around the pool-deck is a pitty but might be necesary.

Review 78:great pool with relaxed seaview. Good value for money !

Review 79:smell in the flat, no double bedroom

Review 80:amazing location, salema beach is fantastic and the view from the place is amazing. Worth a stay!

Review 81:location and pool, and helpful staff
