Reviews for Nora Buri Resort & Spa

Review 1:The food was average at the restaurants. The facilities were great but we faced trouble with water in the bathroom once and the other time with lights in the bathroom. Both of which were taken care after some time. Not a big deal though!

Review 2:The room was beautiful and the staff was very helpful regarding all matters. The location is convenient and close to the main happening area of Koh Samui.

Review 3:We waited for more than 40 minutes for the buggy to pick us up when we wanted check out.

Review 4:The room is very clean and well maintained. We had a good view of sea and managed to see the sunrise over the horizon.

Review 5:Hotel was overbooked for the holiday season, and the staff were overstretched so we didn't get the normal level of attention you would traditionally expect , however they tried their best. The food had a lot left to be desired, not tasty, not healthy. Better off going out if you can.

Review 6:Exceptionally lovely rooms, even at the basic end. Very good deal on booking.com

Review 7:Slow Wi-Fi

Review 8:We booked three deluxe seaview rooms for three nights. We had a great surprise upon our arrival at the resort. We were chosen to participate in their happiness program which was held in conjunction with the festive season, so we were upgraded to three hillside pool villas. We had a great stay at the lovely resort. The rooms were big, comfortable and well designed.Buffet breakfast was great.Staff was excellent and courteous. Buggy carts were at our service within a call.My family and I had an enjoyable and unforgettable vacation in Koh Samui.

Review 9:Beautiful Gardens and View. Beach Restaurant and Pool amazing. Our room was comfortable and clean. Staff Friendly. Very good buffet breakfast. Infinity Pool had a fantastic view and pool bar. Not far to Chaweng Beach main area by taxi.

Review 10:Nothing to mention.

Review 11:Resort's Location + size of room and bathroom + beautiful sea view from the room + staff efficiency + cleanliness, everything was great.

Review 12:We didn't like the high cost of the hotel taxi to the airport... 400baht for a 4 minutes drive ...

Review 13:This is an amazing hotel. Beautiful, quite, romantic, just perfect! Don't be persuaded to get a hotel near the center - it's just not worth it. Also, there are shuttles offered by the hotel. If you want to feel that you're on vacation just book this hotel. The breakfast is really great The pools are so calming and beautiful The rooms and huge and beautifully designed. Don't miss out on the restaurant near the beach :)

Review 14:There was some noises at times from a little renovation work going on but was always during the day. Our bags took a long time to come to the room after a long wait for check in.

Review 15:We loved staying at Nora Buri. We liked the infinity pools, gym, buffet breakfast, but most importantly the magnificent views from the room.

Review 16:Could not swim in the sea . Too rocky . Very disapointed with grilled seafood at the Barge restaurant , not fresh and chefs lacked of imaginations .

Review 17:Massive bedroom and good spa .

Review 18:The beach was not that great and it was too far from town. You had to pay a flat fee to be driven the two miles to do anything.

Review 19:The pools, rooms and view were great! Also the Thai place was amazing

Review 20:Loundry service very expensive(you need to pay per item). More reasonable price for loundry services are located in every street corner near the hotel.

Review 21:The delux room with a sea side view was great, big and luxury. Excellent facilities qualities.

Review 22:They upgraded us to a cottage with private pool which was very nice but that cottage had so many problems with the electricity. We could not sleep the whole night as the lights would dance as in on and off automatically as if there was some ghost in the room.

Review 23:Room Bed PILLOWs are too hard. Requested for soft pillows, but theydidn't have any. They did provide baby pillow for our 4yrs son.Should have asked for 10.Lights in the room very dim and at times we had to use our torch, answer by staff it is MORE ROMANTIC, however, it's obvious it is a financial decision (if they would say, helping reduce global warming maybe more acceptable)....hahaha! BATHROOM TILES - very slippery when wet - I don't understand why management accepted this selection (price!!), but SAFETY should be paramount.....!

Review 24:We have been to KohSamui 7 times now and every time we stay at differentresorts, never disappointed thus far. Nora-buri is Total Value for Money- 6 minutes from Airport (Resort Car 250Bht/Person) pricy, butconvenient & private luxury.Upon Arrival 7pm, we were offered an upgrade to a POOL VILLA Hillside, this was interesting, as we really wanted this but online booking (&follow up phone call) that CHILDREN UNDER 12yrs CANNOT ALLOWED. NoraBuri provide you with a Liability Agreement for you to sign as we have a 4yrs child..... we DELIGHTED with the room 823 & private pool, right at the top of the hill. a GolfBuggie takes you up & down, no issues, other than seating at the back facing back, u need to hold on when going uphill...! NORA-BURI is a very PRIVATE & A TROPICAL JUNGLE Resort setting, we luved it, just put on mosquito repellant (not many to be a nuisance when eating outdoors). Both Hillside & Beach POOLs were fabulous and clean both with BARS, wait for HappyHour for cocktails. Our room pool, was clean and safe @1.2m, with sea view thru the tree tops, FANTASTIC. Breakfast was comprehensive and fresh quality. We ate dinner twice at the Thai Restaurant top floor. Fantastic Thai food and drinks. Pricy, but we don't have to go anywhere when one is tired from sun bakin. Ordered dinner to have at our room, the BIGGEST BURGER ever had...yummy. All other times for Lunch & Dinner, we went to main street in Chewang, huge selection and growing every year. Tut-Tut costs 150 for the 3 of us and takes about 8min. The NORA-BURI experience was made even more pleasant by the BEAUTIFUL STAFF, always friendly, always respecting, and everyone provided satisfying answers/information when asked. As stated above, we have never been to same resort twice..... however, NORA-BURI, "I'll be back"...!

Review 25:It was not bad experience but the resort was located north of Chaweng beach. They had shuttle buses from the resort to Chaweng but it would have been better if operated more often.

Review 26:Liked the resort and staff. Friendly and attentive. The restaurant was very nice and reasonable for dinner. Had a couple of drinks before dinner catching happy hours!

Review 27:check in form too much work, hills very steep, so need waiting for golfcart , only 1 chair in the room, so sit on the bed.

Review 28:comfortable bed and good breakfast

Review 29:Too far spread, have to call the buggy which takes an eternity, poor attitude towards guests, something very cold ant the place! Just not worth it

Review 30:Nothing really

Review 31:Nothing to complain about,we had a great stay.

Review 32:Great setting on the hillside, quiet, really good breakfast, polite and friendly staff, the 4 different happy hours, great cocktails!! The free golf buggy service is also a nice touch.

Review 33:Reception staff weren't the friendliest on check in. We were celebrating my birthday and they weren't too helpful with suggestions on how we could enhance our experience. They did however leave a small birthday cake in the fridge on the day!! Spa way overpriced but normal for 5star hotel. Not much of a beach...

Review 34:Infinity pool, breakfast, size of the room, views, happy hours, friendly pool staff, proximity to the airport

Review 35:Nora Buri is so beautiful and I recommend the resort to anyone! It is in a great location and has amazing views! The staff were fantastic and always helpful. I can't wait to go back! Our room was up towards the top of the hill and it was a killer to walk but the staff helped us often to get to our rooms which was excellent. Food was also amazing!

Review 36:The hotel is missing a beach area - we were dissapointed to learn this - since all the photos on websites indicated access to beach - which proved not to be the case upon our arrival to the hotel.

Review 37:Nice room with plenty of space, good facilities around the pool area and great breakfast buffets with good service.

Review 38:Very hilly, lots of steps! No shuttle bus from 4pm until 9pm

Review 39:Great staff, very friendly and helpful. Facilities are great, gym, pools and wifi. Food at Rice Barge is excellent but a little pricey compared with town. Free shuttle bus to town.

Review 40:Nothing bad to say

Review 41:- Helpful and friendly staff - Amazing pools ( 2 x large) - Quiet location, 3 min taxi ride to Chaweng and 5 min to Bophut (Fisherman's Village) - Beautiful views from hill rooms and hill pool - Food was a high standard and beautiful presentation - Large sized rooms - Well kept resort with beautiful gardens - By far the best resort in this area!

Review 42:Had to change rooms due to the location. Too high up hill. Maid service in room was insufficient.

Review 43:There was sufficient sun loungers and pool was not overly bisy.

Review 44:the main street goes through the resort. Rooms with seaview give you a view onto roofs and in the far distance a glaze of ocean. Stuff doesnt care if your happy. No beach to lie on. No fresh towels nor bath robes in the room. Had to request it 4 times. We stayed 5 nights. Never again!

Review 45:breakfast buffet was great and toiletries were very good quality

Review 46:- Very Costly - They overcharge for everything (Twice the market rates for Vehicles) - Very expensive Spa & Food - Very stony Beach - Far away from Chaweng Main Area - Staff not very Hospitable

Review 47:- Greenery in Property - Infinity Pools

Review 48:If there was one thing that wasn't 100% was the food. It was quite expensive and not worth the money, there is room for improvement here but definitely not a spoiler!

Review 49:We liked everything, service was outstanding, staff were always ready to help and always had a smile, both pools were clean, rooms were fantastic and huge with very comfy beds and cleaned fully everyday. The location was perfect for us as we wanted to be a bit out of the party area of Chewang Beach, but close enough that we could get there easily. Cannot say enough about this place, we will definitely be back!

Review 50:My wife & ! stayed here for one week after a week in Phuket. It was very well located with a short taxi ride to the main beach/shopping area. The hotel offers a free shuttle service or will arrange transport costing around £6. Hotel staff were very helpful and the swimming pools great. No overcrowding or sunbeds covered in towels with no one on them! Great stay.

Review 51:The shuttle bus had an awkward timetable, escorting you to town at 4pm and then not operating till 9pm, thus missing out key dinner times. This forced you to take a taxi to town or eat at the resort, which is very expensive. Town is way better to eat. The beach that it lies on is the OK part of chaweng beach, with coarse sand and very untidy. For a good swim you need to take shuttle bus to town and head to the beach areas around Amari resort. Amari beach is powdery white, so better in my opinion.

Review 52:Nora Buri was a lovely place to retire to after the bustle and madness of Chaweng town. The rooms are big and offer nice amenities. Being cut away its very peaceful. I left my sunglasses there and the staff were kind enough to post them back, so thank you :)

Review 53:Little bit of a smell when walking down the hill from our room to reception, but nothing too bad!

Review 54:Everything! Room was big and we were lucky not to get one too far up the hill. Not that it would have been an issue, the lovely staff are more than happy to take you to or from your room anytime via golf buggy and it's a fun ride! Also to the restaurant on the other side of the resort, which makes it being across the road not an issue at all! Pool is lovely, poolside food and drinks maybe a little overpriced but to be expected. Our included buffet breakfast was amazing! So much to choose from including eggs cooked to your liking, pastries, cakes, pancakes, waffles, fresh fruit, cereal and traditional Thai dishes. It was just wonderful. The staff are all so accommodating and helped us book a couple of tours during our trip, never once expecting a tip or anything. I can not recommend this resort enough, they are wonderful and definitely live up to their 5 stars!! Thank you Nora buri!!

Review 55:Very large commercial hotel as opposed to a resort with character - we were used to cute private cottages and not a hotel. The facilities they offer are relatively pricey - for two of us to get to the airport (literally a 5 min drive), they charged 400 bhat (we got from the ferry to the hotel which was a much longer drive for less). Lots of young groups - we noticed there were a number of groups of young kids (just finished school or Uni).

Review 56:We were only there for a night to catch our flight home, so we didn't really experience it or Koh Samui. The food was tasty, the room was nice (ours had a pretty view), and most importantly, it was close to the airport. Happy hours - be sure to check when they have happy hour (each pool has a different time slot) and enjoy 50% off!

Review 57:The staff at the hotel are really really rude!! They just don't know how to interact with guests ! The hotel is on a up hill and the only way we could approach the room is by a hotel buggy!! N those drivers are so rude it's not funny!! And the staff at the breakfast counter were no less!! We asked a waiter for a spoon while eating n he in return asks us to go pick up from the counter!while we are in midst of breakfast!! Most of staff were extremely rude !!

Review 58:The hotel location is good close bye to busy chewang ,, we rented a car so could manage that!! The beds are huge n so are the rooms and bath rooms

Review 59:Their is not really a lot of view from the rooms The best rooms are the villas with private pool The rest of the resort is on the hillside devided by a road in order to get to the beach you have to walk down hill .not for an older people or peoplewith little children they have to call for the gulf cart to go down or back up to the room from the beach If the hotel is bussy it could be a wait for them to come and get you

Review 60:The resort has beuitifull gardens and nice pools Their is wi-fi all over even at the beach Brakefast is very tasty and a large variety of food. The hotel stuff is very nice and helpfull to the gusts

Review 61:The location of the hotel is great as it is located right at the beach. There is a free shuttle service into town which is handy. The restaurants are serving very tasty food. The staff is very friendly and helpfull.

Review 62:(1) The resort is just not good enough to spend lots of time there: while it has most facilities that "tick the boxes" on paper (pool, large rooms, wifi, etc), none of these facilities are really great - it's in essence a "wannabe 5-star" resort: the rooms are big but bare and badly furnished (broken closets etc), there's a superfluous control panel next to the bed to control lights, instead of being able to switch them on/off on the spot (nouveaux-riche gadgetry), the rooms have large, ugly and noisy aircon's just outside the entrance, which can be heard at night; the resort has a seaside and hillside part divided by a big/ugly road, which is unpleasant to cross in shorts to go the "beach" (a tiny strip of gravel and sand); the resort grounds are stretched out and very steep so one cannot walk around but needs little golf-cars to carry guests up and down the hill; the resort grounds themselves are nothing special (only little concrete roads and concrete buildings, no nice garden/park, lodge or similar); the pool is nice but the poolbar plays loud blaring pop/techno music all day; the service staff is very friendly but somewhat crude and lacks professional style/graciousness (play ping-pong games while working etc)... In short: the resort tries and spectacularly fails to be 5-star pedigree.(2) The Location is too far away from Chaweng Beach: the free shuttle service to town is totally inadequate (the minibus has only room for 10x people, so if overbooked - which happens on almost every trip - one needs to get a taxi at European prices for THB 250-330 one-way; the shuttle bus also only goes 5x per day, and does not go at all between 16:00 and 21:00 (probably to ensure people eat dinner at the hotel).

Review 63:Nice pool

Review 64:1. There is't music station in the room 2. it is difficult to go up to hill, but there are electric cars-taxy

Review 65:1. perfect view in each room 2. all territory is tropical garden on the hill 3. briliant view from pool

Review 66:Our villa was missing the pool towels for most of our stay. Breakfast juices were not fresh, at least not all of them.

Review 67:The villa is cosy, spacious, very comfortable and has incredible view. Having your own private pool for such a low cost in comparison to other countries, is a big plus. The staff is extremely congenial. The pool area by the beach is lovely, though it could use a few more lounge chairs. All-in-all, we've had a wonderful experience.

Review 68:The staff(all),gardenview rooms, the beach.also this resort is not suitable for couples with infants.and except receptionists its very hard to communicate with the staff.

Review 69:Seaview room,rice barge restaurant

Review 70:The beach is not very great. The city center is 10 mins away but limited transport options and expensive as per Thailand standards

Review 71:The location is quite nice away from the action in the city which is a good relaxation

Review 72:The restaurant prices are not made to keep to many clients in the hotels restaurant but the food is very good

Review 73:Location, staff, infinity pool. Great place for a relaxed holliday. Fantastic hotel

Review 74:There was some miscommunication and our pick-up from the Airport did not arrive. The resort staff apologised for this. We took a taxi instead, which was actually cheaper than the shuttle anyhow! Also, the food in the restaurant was nothing too special, quite tasty, and I'm pretty much scraping to think of any downsides as I'm writing this!!

Review 75:Don't think, just book it.Or, if you need a little more encouragement, let me give my highest praise for Nora Buri, its spa and its staff:A friend and I stayed there last week and I'm still glowing from the incredible rooms, facilities, spa treatments and service we received. The resort is split into two halves, hillside and beachside. Rooms and villas are located from the beachfront up the hill. It can be a bit of a walk, but the super-friendly staff are always zooming around in electric buggies and will pick you up on request, or if they see you walking, so don't sweat on that aspect! The resort overlooks the ocean and features two beautiful pools, two restaurants, a spa and three bars, library, and lush native gardens surrounding the rooms and villas.Every staff member will greet you with a smile and a thai hello as you walk around. Such sweet-hearted, genuine service - we felt like we were the only people in the resort! By day-two of our stay, the staff recognised our coffee orders and were making in-jokes along with us.Breakfast buffet was lovely, you can sit and eat overlooking the water. The cocktails are delicious, and there's a swim-up bar if that's your thing (it was definitely ours)! You will be greeted with a delicious cocktail and scooted up to your room. Our room was beautiful, with amazing bathroom and comfortable beds. We stayed in a seaview twin room, overlooking the water - sensational! Next time we will try the pool villas, as these looked particularly decadent. The hotel can arrange airport transfer, and a free shuttle will run you the 10mins into Chaweng beach with access to shopping, bars and restaurants. Or if you need to go at a particular time, the helpful reception staff will book you a taxi, which only costs 200 - 250 Baht.We visited the spa three separate times, for body scrubs, steam-room sessions, facials and massages.

Review 76:Given that it was out of town, a shuttle bus service was provided. This service was extremely poor. There was one shuttle per time and when that was booked out you couldn't use it. I treied to book the night before and they said had to wait till 8am next morning. Then at 8.02 next morning they said it was booked out. There was no service after 2 pm until 9 pm which covered dinner time.

Review 77:Mosquitos. (Yes we had the brand 'OFF'). In the sea is rocky. Bring wet shoes. Sand is more coarse. Sea is a great temperature.

Review 78:Excellent Thai food. Excellent breakfast buffet. Good gym. Great pools. Large resort. Great rooms. Walk around from the resort, via the beach, to Chaweng side. Just around the peninsula and find soft white sand and amazing clear glass like sea water. Peaceful.

Review 79:The buggy's drive way too fast and considering the steepness of the hills that they carry guests around on it can be quite scary at times - we opted to walk in the end which I guess offered us some exercise!!

Review 80:Room was beautiful, hillside villa with pool - great views, fairly private and amazing views. Decor and cleanliness of room was perfect.

Review 81:It was one of the best Resort &SPA ever been so far .

Review 82:really upset with attitude of the staff in the eating places. unwilling to do anything and very non welcoming .

Review 83:loved the room sizes and the view

Review 84:No iron in the room

Review 85:View of the room is amazing, the location of the hotel is good for peace and it is 10 minutes to chaweng center by motorbike.

Review 86:Slow internet

Review 87:Facilities and breakfast

Review 88:loved the rooms and how they all had beautiful ocean views. The garden's were beautiful, it had a lovely relaxed feel

Review 89:nothing

Review 90:Every thing

Review 91:Nothing

Review 92:Helpful staff

Review 93:Staff is friendly but nothing more, not genuine friendly.

Review 94:The hotel, staff, facilities and location is top notch! Pure paradise and relaxation.

Review 95:Nice service nice swimming pool! You can totally relax here! Love it!

Review 96:Housekeeping would not clean the room on time and staff seemed to be lazy most of the times, although well behaved and nice.

Review 97:View and location

Review 98:Logging into wifi every so often.

Review 99:The hotel was beautiful, blown away by everything, from the lobby to our room. Everything was amazing.

Review 100:Everything was grate!!!! It was amazing from the first moment we entered in the main lobby of the Hotel!

Review 101:The facilities were amazing, gym, pool and bars etc. Included breakfast is a must.

Review 102:Not able to swim in the beach.

Review 103:Every staff are so helpful and friendly.

Review 104:No watersports in the beachfront

Review 105:The two pools, beachfront, breakfast

Review 106:pool and location

Review 107:Excellent sea view; Private swimming pool; good room ambiance, structure and decorations; Nice staff.

Review 108:It's most quit place was there for my honey moon and it's was perfect quit area

Review 109:Air conditioning

Review 110:Location, breakfast, welcoming staff, value for money!

Review 111:The fitness centre, Restaurants, Room size, Swimming Pools, friendly staff.

Review 112:Everything

Review 113:Dont get what you paid for. Overrated

Review 114:Location, food

Review 115:The staff, facilities and location were all fantastic!

Review 116:Room service poor reat animal in the room if you room in the top no car take you down take time to came and you must give him money to serve you

Review 117:I like only the view

Review 118:The beach, as is the case with most of Ko Samui, is not that great.

Review 119:Excellent service staff - they made us feel so at home. Infinity pool is nice and the spa, though small, is delightful.

Review 120:the rooms are not clean (as it should be in a 5*), the prices are nearly tripled (compared to the prices everywhere else), some staff is unfriendly and not interested at all, the main pool bar is only open until 5pm, they have a lot of western themed evenings instead of Thai evenings, only 5 shuttles to town (and also very stupid times - 10.30, 14, 16, 21 and 22 o'clock)

Review 121:We had problems because of dirty sheets and the complaints to the desk manager were heard quickly, in general quick response if you have troubles and talk to someone in higher positions; some of the staffs are very friendly and polite, the main pool is beautiful, the view in some rooms are also beautiful, food in the Hotel was very good, but overpriced

Review 122:Top pool bar should stay open past 5pm!

Review 123:Fantastic location - out of town enough to be quiet and relaxing. And close enough for a 3 minute car ride into town. Lovely staff, beautiful gardens & view. Big rooms!

Review 124:Because all the rooms are built on the side of a steep hill, buggies are needed to get to your room. There were never enough buggies, averaging waiting time was 15 minutes, not acceptable. Food was acceptable but grossly overpriced.

Review 125:Excellent staff

Review 126:most of the staff are not friendly and always in rude manner .you have to wait 10 mins to get buggy every time . it really annoying.

Review 127:amazing swimming-pool and great breakfast

Review 128:The prices at the bar and the restaurant were too expensive. The beach is too rocky.

Review 129:We liked the location as it was away from the busiest part of Chaweng. The room with a sea view was excellent in every way.

The Fine Print
