Reviews for Pousada Pedacinho de Céu

Review 1:No view at all from our room, breakfasts very basic and kitchen staff Never refilling food when something done. Bags had to be on the floor, nowhere to put it. Way over-rated property. Would not come back nor recommend it.

Review 2:No Mather which hotel you chose on the island you will be 5 min away from where you have to go

Review 3:Very friendly receptionist giving us many tips in fluent English. Very well located near the peer and beach. Very charming patio (alice in wondeland style) full of colibris.

Review 4:The bedding was too small for our double bed so the sheet kept coming loose every time either of us moved. Also the water doesn't come on until late in the morning so we couldn't shower, use the sink or the toilet before breakfast.

Review 5:The hostel is decorated beautifully, the lady who runs it speaks English which helped us a lot and the breakfast was very good in comparison to other places we've stayed. It's also a great location right near the beach and shops.

Review 6:The room : very old-fashioned, old and yellowish dirty-looking bed linens, awful sewage smell, fridge and walls full of ants (bathroom was clean though) I really don't understand the good reviews of this hotel. I'm guessing I was given the worst room of the hotel.

Review 7:The location Kindness of the staff The breakfast

Review 8:Slightly run-down, in need of some redecoration

Review 9:Quirky accommodation, location very central - excellent, relaxing garden with birds and other animals to watch, owners very helpful and organised for our laundry to be done.

Review 10:The room was a little small but liveable.

Review 11:The staff were super friendly and helpful and the lack of English wasn't a problem. The little garden is beautiful and a lovely spot to have breakfast watching the humming birds feeding in front of you. Also great views of the two mountains. The manager let us use his umbrella when it rained for the whole day. The pousada also has its own back up generator so when the power was cut beacuse of the storm we were not left in the dark. Also a superb breakfast.

Review 12:WiFi only at the lobby. To much noise on the morning due to transportation of supply for the other pousadas and restaurants.

Review 13:The employees are very kind and helpful.

Review 14:sickening loud noises. Worst 3 days, had to buy ear props just to sleep, and that was only a little help. Couldn't argue with the staff because of the lack of English skills!

Review 15:I cannot think of anything I didnt like. Perhaps the colours and decor is a little too much, but then again it gives it its uniqueness. So do the snow white and dwarfs in the garden :)

Review 16:This is a very comfortable place to stay, and in the center of all happenings. Great breakfast too!

Review 17:I think the good reviews of this place is overrated! If we had paid 50 % I would have given this hostel a much better rate, but since it was quite expensive I expected much more. The rooms are small and with no place to store your things. The air-condition is very nosy. Our towels had stains on them.

Review 18:Location just a few minutes from the main pear. Friendly and helpful host. Hammock.

Review 19:Clean, vibrant with personality - we were made to feel extremely welcome. Lovely Brazilian breakfasts on the veranda every morning and had additional access to shower and bag storage after check out.

Review 20:We thought that the decor and the ambience of the pousada was beautiful. The people who ran it were beautiful as well! The fruit and cakes for breakfast, the hammock outside our door, the hummingbirds in the morning and the kitch details of the room. We loved it!!!

Review 21:This beautiful place is truly magical! The owners have gone to great effort to make it look and feel really special. As soon as I walked in I felt happy and at home, with it's brightly coloured walls, butterflies and humming birds flying around everywhere, balconies, a gorgeous garden and cake left out every afternoon! Never seen anywhere like it! People take photographs as they walk last! I would highly recommend staying here. The staff (especially Paulo and the other lady) were so lovely and accommodating, and so friendly! Clean rooms and a really cute selection of sweets and chocolates at the mini bar. Thank you so much.. If we ever return to Ilha Grande we will definitely be back here!

Review 22:Bed sheets were dirty and stank. Staff were unfriendly. Ridiculously expensive for what it was. We stayed in a similar accommodation for a quater of the price

Review 23:Hummingbirds outside our door. And a good breakfast

Review 24:The price was more than what I usually like to spend.

Review 25:The breakfast, the staff, the location, the room, the A/C in the room, the beds, the housekeeping.

Review 26:My only complaint is that the breakfast is the same each day. Although it was definitely delicious it would definitely be nice to switch up more than just the cakes each day. Other than that, keep everything else the same!!

Review 27:Great hospitality, delicious breakfast, and a powerful generator (powerful storm knocked out the power for many other guests at other pousadas--BUT NOT US!!)

Review 28:-

Review 29:The property was great and the owners went out of their way to be accommodating for our late departure and need for shower prior to travel. The hammocks in the garden are a perfect spot to watch the charm of (group) hummingbirds which come to feed at the feeders. Breakfast was plentiful with fresh fruit and juices.

Review 30:The personnel were very nice and welcoming. Everything worked fine in the whole place. Even during non working electricity they started their backup generator.

Review 31:It was four of us in a shared room. The room was quite small and it had two single beds and one double. It was in the back part and wifi didn't reach very well because the APs are in the front yard. I suggest you ask for a room there.

Review 32:Breakfast is good, decoration of the place is quite elaborated in common areas, if you like that colorful style. Loved the hummingbirds coming to drink from the water tanks. They offered leaving the bags after checkout so we could hang around in Ilha Grande until the boat back to mainland. They take foreign credit cards (mine was debit working as credit and no problem). The location is good, through one of the main commercial streets. Staff is friendly.

Review 33:Everything was great! We would love to return one day

Review 34:The place is really whimsical and colorful. We were greeted by such friendly staff with some coffee and cake! What a reception! The staff go out of their way to help you with anything and are so genuinely friendly. We wanted to camp in other parts of the island and they even kept our bags safely at the Pousada! The breakfast is hearty and delicious featuring lots of cakes and fresh fruits! Our room was clean and comfortable. When the WiFi works on the island, it works here but sometimes during rainstorms there are problems for the entire island. But you don't come to Ilha Grande for WiFi! The location couldn't be more perfect, it's right in the middle of things but on a quiet street so you can get some rest. Also, it's really close to the docks so walking with your stuff takes about 3 minutes. Overall, we highly recommend that you stay in this Pousada. You will not be disappointed!

Review 35:We spent a couple of nights and our time there was perfect. Very friendly staff, a nice clean room of a decent size with a little porched area and our own hammac! Very good breakfast overlooking the garden. Great location too, in a query road and close to everything. Highly recommended.

Review 36:Reminded me a guest house in India, but not in such a price...

Review 37:Right in the center. Couldn't be better! Paulo can help you carrying the suitcases if you have away to tell him...

Review 38:The hosts are amazing, generous and accommodating, good breakfast, rooms are great. Free wifi all over the place but why would you waste your time using it in this amazing island?

Review 39:Paolo and his staff were very friendly and accommodating. rooms were comfortable and very clean. the morning breakfast was fantastic! many thanks for providing a great place to stay while on Ilha Grande

Review 40:We asked for three beds but there was a double and a single bed one friend found another room

Review 41:Friendly staff good breakfast and great location

Review 42:Not on the beach Kind of expensive

Review 43:The staff is amazing, very helpful! Very good breakfest

Review 44:No where to wash clothes:(

Review 45:Rodrigo's friendly and cheerful "Bon Diaz' The whole atmosphere was relaxing.

Review 46:The owner was very friendly and honest, helped us with everything! The location was excellent and the accomodation is cute.

Review 47:Very helpfull staff and friendly owners.

Review 48:Nothing!

Review 49:Loved this place - great location, quirky décor, big rooms, lovely breakfast and friendly staff.

Review 50:The staff and the breakfast are awesome!

Review 51:Slightly run down - needs to be refurbished, air conditioning noisy

Review 52:Lovely gardens to relax in with wildlife to watch, and very helpful staff

Review 53:Location is peaceful, which valuable during time times? Staff is kind and in chillout. Breakfast is great and located next your room.

Review 54:Just returned from a fabulous stay! Freshly baked breakfast! Very friendly lady, full of character!

Review 55:Well located, close to the pier and wonderful staff Bem localizado, próximo do pier e ótimo atendimento

Review 56:Wi-fi not working well

Review 57:Very good breakfast! Helpful staff. Clean.

Review 58:Wi-fi was not working all the time but I hear it is pretty common on the island

Review 59:Most helpful staff, very nice breakfast, good location

Review 60:Excellent place to stay. Staff very helpful. The decor was very imaginative. Would recommend it as a place to stay. Great breakfast too.

Review 61:Great food. Staff was excellent and very informative. Knew a lot about the island and very helpful. I would definitely stay there again!

Review 62:My friend and I stayed in Pousada Pedacinho de Ceu during the second week of June 2014 and the owner, Carmen, her staff and this location were great. It is not too far from Vila do Abraão's port, it includes a delicious breakfast of fresh fruit, bread and home-made cakes, and our rooms and Pousada were always clean. It included towels, a refrigerator and TV. Carmen was extremely resourceful and helpful, especially since we needed some help translating from English to Portuguese. I also liked the details of this lodging, from the colorful walls and decorations. I highly recommend this place during your stay in Ilha Grande.

Review 63:Location is very central in the main port town of Ilha Grande (Abraão) where most of the activities are. Our host Carmen spoke English and was very friendly and helpful throughout the stay, as well as the rest of the staff.

Review 64:we had not enough time and stayed just two nights here

Review 65:almost everything was perfect: good wifi, clean room, nice location ...not everybody spoke English but I don't know why, but it wasn't really a big problem ... really friendly and nice owners

Review 66:The owner (Carmen?) was fantastically nice. Not only did she allow to check in early, but we were going to be a tight fit in one of the family rooms, and she gave us a free upgrade! (Don't count on getting the same; we were very cute/pathetic... ;) Centrally located, about two blocks to main pier with shops all along the way. Pretty building, very clean, good free breakfast, and all staff very nice. Our room even had a separate entry room where you could use a sink, dump and clean beach gear, etc.

Review 67:All hotels on the island seem to be rather expensive compared to the general standard. Poercuts on Ihla Grande are frequent and generators are noisy.

Review 68:Funny garden attracting colibris, friendly staff, fresh orangejuice and fresh bread for breakfast. Easy to relax in the garden.

Review 69:Air conditioning did not work for half of our time there and althoughthe owner fixed it we were not able to access our room for nearly awhole evening whilst they were doing this! It was very hot and we hadsmall children with us. The owner should use a portable air con in thissituation and fix when the room is not being used. The discount givenwas not satisfactory for the inconvenience caused.

Review 70:The Jolly atmosphere and lively decoration, the children thought theywere in fairy land!

Review 71:Do not speak a word of english,no working wifi, do not tell you what to do or how toreach the place from Rio, is hard if you dont speak portughese

Review 72:helpful staff,lovely breakfast.clean,close to boat stop.will go again

Review 73:The rooms we had were small and a bit dated -- but, on the plus side, were clean, had good a.c., ceiling fan, good shower and small refrigerator.

Review 74:We love Carmen! She is so warm and welcoming and always has a smile on her face. You'll never hear a more sincere and cheerful "bom dia". Though our rooms were small, they were clean, the ceiling fan over the bed and the a.c. worked very well, shower was good and we had a small refrigerator. It was everything we needed. The location is excellent -- a very short walk to the main street, very close to all shops, restaurants, etc. The garden and exterior of the pousada are cheerful and charming. We enjoyed watching all the different birds that came and went. Breakfast each day was fresh and delicious and they would even make eggs for you on request. Loved the fresh-squeezed orange juice.

Review 75:Our stay was perfect, the room was large with everything we needed and the owner was very kind and welcoming. The breakfast was a large buffet and very tasty.

Review 76:The aircons are loud. The rooms also have fans, so aircons might not be necessary, but even the neighbours aircon could be too loud.

Review 77:Excellent location, very good room service (freshly made every day), very nice and little crazy owner, nice braekfast, colors and decoration are crazy, but unique...

Review 78:Rooms should have improvements on electrics and cleaning /substitution of air-conditioning units.

Review 79:Very friendly staff, especially Sr. Paulo. Nice breakfast. Good quietlocation in Abraão.

Review 80:A little more tourist advice would have been useful. No-one seems tohave walking maps on the island.

Review 81:We loved the position, the garden and the decor othe Pousada. Our roomwas decorated by someone who obviously loves running a guesthouse. Therooms were derived daily and the towels changed every day. The room hada safe and a fridge and we had the best breakfasts which we've hadin our two months in South America.

Review 82:Watch out for the narrow spiral staircase if you have large bags (it was okay for us) and Paulo helped us. It would have been perfect if the top sheet on our double bed had been the correct size.

Review 83:It's so cute! Great position a (small) block from the beach. Friendly staff, a fridge in the room and a balcony with outdoor furniture to enjoy. Breakfast is tops - juice, cakes, fruit, bread, cereal, meats, cheese and tea & coffee - all served in a pleasant setting. Comfortable bed, pillows and bathroom with good towels. Unbelievable vatue for money,

Review 84:Pretty much everything. Great place, lovely common area, close to the main street yet far enough to avoid any noise. Paulo provided an excellent service during our stay: very quick, efficient and always with a smile. Paulo, you are a great asset to this Pousada!!!

Review 85:Do youself a favour and come to enjoy Carmen, the owner of the Pousada. She speaks English, always in good spirit, helpful and cheerful. The pousada looks like a Disney moovie. The location is the best! Carmen left for us towels and a bathroom after we left the room.

Review 86:Nothing

Review 87:Beautiful little hotel with very friendly staff, located in the middle of romantic Angraao. Great breakfast, clean rooms. Great activities on the island can be planned right from the hotel.

Review 88:A bit pricey, but it was tourist season.

Review 89:What a great hotel! The breakfast was outstanding, the best we had inall of Brasil. The staff is absolutely fantastic and very helpful. Whenwe asked to check-out a day early due to bad weather and feeling ill, wehad not a single problem. There are not many hotels that would be soeasy! Very clean, very nice.

Review 90:The staff was excellent. Breakfast is great. My suitcase broke on the way the the hotel. The on site maintenance man was so sweet and fixed my suitcase as soon as I arrived. It was not even a simple fix and he spent several hours repairing. He saved the rest of my trip! Everything is clean, location is great, and the rooms get cool. All you need for Ihla Grande.

Review 91:Staff don't speak very good English

Review 92:Lovely place to stay, great location, excellent breakfast, lovely clean rooms.

Review 103:-Ant trail

Review 104:-Carmen -Proximity to everything -comfortable beds

Review 105:A bit too nozy in the morning, if you are a light sleeper use ear plugs. Rooms are very small.

Review 106:Location is great, just near the pier.

Review 107:the location is just nice and very well located. The staff is nice and the atmosphere is magic... Good breakfast!

Review 108:Mr. Paulo is very friendly and helpful. He let us check out later than the prescribed time.
