Reviews for Herdade do Amarelo Nature & Spa

Review 1:We were wondering why such a exclusive place doesn't have a good vine and dinner menue. This is the only thing to criticise about it.

Review 2:Great!!! Very romantic, calm and peaceful place to relax and forget about the rest of the world. Once you're there youdon't want to leave any more. Amazing view from the pool and the terrace. Very nice service and friendly stuff! We would love to come back one day!

Review 3:Although there are quite a few options of things to do in and around the resort, we were never once approached by the staff during our stay asking whether we were happy and whether we would be interested in doing something other than sleeping and eating

Review 4:The room was excellent.

Review 5:Lots of mosquitos (end of August/beginning of September), very slow wifi and poor mobile reception

Review 6:Views, Quietness, Seeing stars at night, local recommendations for restaurants and beaches, affordable honesty bars, Beautiful views from the pool

Review 7:The drive from Lisbon was mostly on secondary roads. Apple maps ( or equal) essential.

Review 8:This is a fabulous place-- the sort of place where the owner tastes the melon before cutting it up to make sure it is perfectly ripe and there is a special breakfast delicacy of the day . The rooms are oversized and gorgeous. My husband spent fifteen minutes taking photos and thinking about how many of the interior designs we' could copy. There is one fabulous restaurant in the nearby town quite known throughout Portugal --Tasco do Cesco and another the owner recommended by the harbor. We did not like our choice of food. We should have stuck to plain grilled fish. The beach at. The river was. Delightful. Intr

Review 9:n.a.

Review 10:This place is a hidden gem for people who are looking for a place in the nature to relax. We were there for the second time and again spent a wonderful time. The service offer has increased compared to the last year, allowing us to stay more time on the propery and just relax.

Review 11:Bad WiFi and it should have been easier to get some food at the hotell during daytime and in the evenings. Easier access, more orders. Order dinner one night and it was good.

Review 12:Location, almost alone at the small hotell, temperature, owners, clean place, lovely area.

Review 13:Wi-fi is flaky, but we didn't really care as we were in for some days away from it all

Review 14:Awesome facilities, very clean, very quiet - even better than expected

Review 15:the wonderful suites are downhill, getting up from them needs some effort the bubble bath lays in the middle of the room, sunken into the floor, don't fall into it at night!

Review 16:beautiful hotel in a nice natural setting with a lot of animals and birds around the scenery from the balconies are gorgeous

Review 17:The wifi could (it's satellite sourced and limited) and the sound proof of our room could be better.

Review 18:Located near Milfontes, Herdade do Amarelo is a very quiet and relaxing place. Loved the pool space, the surroundings, the staff and the room we were in. I highly recommend this place.

Review 19:There is no A/C or cooling fans. If you take a long bath, it is difficult to cool the room because you cannot open the window (because of mosquitos).

Review 20:Location View (vegetation and valleys difficult to find in Alentejo) Room (excellent view, impecable taste, modern TV) Bathtub in the middle of the room Wifi Breakfast (until 12!) - the croissants, the cheese and the jams are absolutely marvellous Cleanliness - perfect gardens, pool, etc

Review 21:I would choose a softer bed personally but it was still very comfortable with beautiful lighting and a Jacuzzi in the floor at the foot of the bed!

Review 22:The room was beautiful with a gorgeous balcony. Comfortable with free movies! The staff were amazing! I arranged this as a surprise birthday for my wife. They offered to help organise special trips including horse riding and their spa was perfect for this also. They gave us a bottle of champagne as a present. Location was perfect in a very quiet area with lots of birds to watch. The grounds are well cared for and everything is clean. Honestly the most lovely, welcoming and comfortable place I have ever stayed in. Although not cheap, I still think that value for money is excellent. Thank you to everyone at herdade do amarelo!!

Review 23:The environment is amazing. The place is really cozy and charming. The hosts are very nice, though they only speak Portuguese, they're able to communicate.

Review 24:Nothing too bad in my opinion but, the only thing I thought it would be good was if lunch/dinner could be provided on request because sometimes you just don't feel like having to go all the way into town to eat.

Review 25:The scenery and overall location is beautiful and perfect to do some serious beach trips and sightseeing along the coast. The facilities and service are absolutely amazing and work to the overall relaxing atmosphere.

Review 26:There was a jacuzzi tub smack in the floor in the middle of the bedroom. It was the focal point of the room, and we worried about falling into it if we had to get up in the middle of the night or weren't paying attention during the day.

Review 27:Great location in coastal Alentejo. Most luxurious accommodations in the area. Beautifully decorated rooms, bathrooms and public spaces. Comfortable beds and strong showers. Very attractive grounds. Abundant and delicious breakfasts.

Review 28:I believe the high rates (for Portugal) could justify a little more personnel available at all times. Also we ran into some construction supply leftovers, so I guess the place could use some tidy up (yet it's not dirty in any way).

Review 29:Wonderful suite, quiet and very personnal styling. We should have stayed longer to enjoy all the facilities.

Review 30:No fault of the hotel, but most of the guests had young children. Relaxing on our private patio was impossible due to the noise of kids just being kids. The pool was out of the question for the same reason. This is our issue. If guests have children this is a fantastic place. If a few days of quiet is planned then it may not be the best choice.

Review 31:We enjoyed the friendly staff, rural location, resident donkey, walks around the property, spacious suite, and good breakfast. It was also 15 minutes from Natasha's Stables which the hotel recommended for horse riding.

Review 32:Nothing

Review 33:The quietness and location of the property. Fantastic SPA. Nearby of fantastic beaches. Friendly personnel.

Review 34:Very Nice location & facilities. Very friendly people.

Review 35:the wifi was really very slow, almost not usable..

Review 41:Peace and tranquility. Receptionist very kind and helpful.

Review 42:The environment and the view, the pleasant and helpful staff, the very good taste of the decoration. All this made us have a delightful stay there.

Review 43:Friendly staff Lovely rooms Fantastic location Lovely sun rise and sunsets Super pool Great massage Tasty breakfast

Review 44:No evening meals offered, but tapas olives etc were super. Spa area prices were high, but we had a hot tub on our terrace! Bring a dictionary unless you speak Portugese, but we felt even our poor Portugese was appreciated...

Review 45:Gorgeous, secluded romantic hideaway. The friendly owners and staff have spent their money wisely; its got all the mod cons but feels old worlde! Fantastic food. We were here on honeymoon and loved it. Highly recommended and very comfortable and welcoming. Thanks to Francesco and family!

Review 46:no facilities .Staff didnt speak any English .Wasnt allowed to check in til 3 pm even though only one other couple staying and room was ready.Outside jacuzzi full of spiders coachroaches and ist evening a Gekko and next morning a mouse.Should have a cover on it.Breakfast also was only OK

Review 47:nothing much really apart from the away from it all location

Review 48:one and one thing only. the family rooms are built in wood elevated floor that makes a lot of noise when walking on it. Children in the upper deck walking make it impossible for you to rest :)

Review 49:location, scenery, amenities, friendly and helpful owners.

Review 50:As a spa I would have expected more than one masseuse and I would haveexpected them to be on the premises. Breakfast was served between 9amand 12pm which is rather late.

Review 51:Amazing location set in the Portuguese countryside. New facilities.Comfortable accommodation. Lovely pool.

Review 52:Nothing. Bar, if you have very young children (3+1) then be aware of the mezzanine and the potential for climbers to fall...

Review 53:Great double room with mezzanine floor and two further single beds. Very quiet, with view over the valley. Very helpful owner nice breakfast. Restaurant not open in the evening when we visited (early June 13) but the owner supplied some cheese and bread.

Review 54:Beautifully located, fabulous countryside, friendly helpful staff, relaxed and peaceful.

Review 55:very nice room with great attention to details and style. A perfect spot for relaxing. (try the swinging sun beds...) Very good breakfast.

Review 56:Friendly staff and owner,Perfect relaxation getaway. Car needed, you need around 10 minutes to villa nova de milfontes.

Review 57:It was a real pleasure and a very nice stay!

Review 58:We loved it and are looking forward to coming back agian next year - Mark Symonds

Review 59:we like the hotel was very new and clean. The situation is very good, near the beach, only 10 minutes by car. The staff was very friendly
