Review 1：Bad smell in the room. I am 6 months pregnant and the old smell in the room was terrible. First they changed the room for me, but the second one had an awfull smell as well. The bed was terrrible, not comfortable at all. They put 2 beds together to make a king size.

Review 2：Great location, pool, nice friendly staff. Big resort, nice garden, good breakfast, nice Coast Restaurant, ambiance and sea view.

Review 3：Really underwhelmed. Nothing was ever right first time and we had to complain about various minor issues repeatedly before anything was done. We booked a babysitter that was an hour late and reception were very rude to my husband and claimed it was our fault, then eventually realised it was theirs but made no apology. We had to change rooms halfway through our stay and the air con in the second room barely worked - they told us that nothing could be done but offered no alternative solution or compensation. We had a cockroach and a large, dead dragonfly in our room and had to speak to housekeeping three times before they were removed. And so it goes on... Hotel itself is lovely but service throughout is 3* at best.

Review 7：Just next to the beach. Beach very clean and well maintain. Sao, was very helpful and professional at the tour desk. Daniel at the front desk also made the trip extra special for my kids because of his caring and friendly personality.

Review 8：Didn't confirm request for pick up from airport (they didn't pick us up). Used to offer free pick up and drop off but now it's more expensive than the taxis. Standard of service not what it has been in the past (been going since 2001).

Review 17：Air conditioning didn't work properly, and was not properly fixed after mentioning to manager. Was not given alternate room option either. Mosquitos were a problem not only outside but also in the room. They warned about not leaving the doors open, and despite not leaving the balcony door open and not letting any mosquitos in through the front door, they continued to get into the room, I suspect through the ventilation/bathroom exhaust or ac unit. Lighting in the room was poor especially in the bathroom. Buffet breakfast was plentiful in choice, but the quality of the food was average at best. Many choices had soggy consistency from sitting in steam heaters, ie bacon, sausages, potatoes etc. Would get bored of the options after a few days.

Review 30：My husband and I just spent six nights at Centara Grand, it was absolutely wonderful! Everything from the private plunge pool to the birthday cake waiting for us when we checked in to our room in recognition of my husbands birthday, just added to our holiday. The club lounge facilities are excellent and special mentions go to Banana and Pom. It's easy to see why people return here year after year (and some twice a year!) Thanks so much ! We loved it and hope to return very soon!

Review 31：The beach warning flag was too far in and blocked by trees from where we sat on the sun decks. It should be in a very prominent position so that people can see from far away and from all angles. I didn't see the flag, and I went to swim in the sea and got stuck in a rip tide. Luckily I was rescued by my husband and two other Italian & German men. VERY dangerous sea at times. Another guy died that morning on the same beach. Read about rip tides before you go to Koh Samui so you know what to do. The dates of the incident was at the end of March 2015.

Review 32：The location of the hotel on a nice long white sandy beach (Chaweng Beach), the shallowness of the sea where you can swim far from the shore. Plenty of sun decks. Free WiFi available in the room. The room had a balcony so we could sit outside and enjoy the very beautiful sea view. Great breakfast. Review 41：The price is steep. Babysitting price was prohibitive. (As were all babysitting prices in Samui) The kids pool is a bit boring and hidden from the main pool so I was often at odds with my kid who wanted to play in it. (music at pool bar was fine) I manage high end vacation rentals in Hawaii and I know beach resorts. Overall I think one can discount most of the negative reviews of this resort. It is worth the price and we would come again.

Review 42：Perfect location - close to everything but no party noise at night and the most beautiful stretch of uncrowded beach. At first the room seemed small but it's very well set up: two large suitcases and 3 full size carry-ons fit in the closet and I left my suitcase out cause I had 2-months-in-ChiangMai worth of stuff to deal with but I think it would have fit in the closet too. My 2 boys age 4 and 6 fit together in one of the two "twin" beds - I'm pretty sure it was bigger than an American-size twin bed. NOTE that the cheapest room category has no tub so if you want a bathtub chose one category up. The free kids club was really a perk and allowed me to get a couple massages and some time to myself. Staff was super. The grounds are fantastic. Breakfast was quite good, a lot of variety and unusually good breads and baked goods. Ocean almost too warm - great for kids!

Review 59：This exceeded our expectations!! We stayed in a 1 BR Suite with a plunge pool and were pleasantly surprised with how good the room was. A little dated but very spacious and comfortable. With that we got 'club membership' and I can't speak highly enough of the staff that look after you in 'the club'. Service was impeccable. This resort is like no other on Chaweng Beach, with the huge grassy areas. This will now be an annual holiday for our young family to Centara, we fell in love with this resort.

Review 60：They kept my credit card on arrival after checking in (which I did not realise either) and when I realised I asked if they still had it and instead of having a look they assured me they didn't have it so I cancelled my credit card on the first day of my trip. 3 days later I received an envelope with an apology and my cancelled credit card.

Review 62：the club facilities were not explained to us what we could use and get for them, some staff didn't understand what we were entitled too and there were conflicting reports, the bonus scheme also we were in was not explained as too what it was about. The food for breakfasts and some dinners were too far precooked. this could be a great resort if they concentrated more on some specialty cooking rather than 20 different items. there was always far too much food left over and why if the hotel was 805 booked and the restaurant empty ????????

It got progressively better but it wasn't clear, the way safe water should be - the staff claimed the yellow water was due to lighting - but that was not true! We compared it to drinking water. How is it that I'm the only one that complained about this?This is unacceptable at an apparent 5 star hotel. -lots of Mosquitos everywhere

Review 124：This hotel feels like an established residence, one of substance, quality and throws you back to the feeling of the empire and Miss Marple sat in the foyer having afternoon tea and watching events unfold. However, this is where the feel of quality ends. Our room, a pool villa was well placed, but that was all. It was dirty and we battled constantly with it suffering from damp (combination of air con and humidity with doors open and no "air flow" and sadly the room and hotel was in need of modernisation. These issues were offset by the lovely staff, but unfortunately this is not enough for a return visit, which was only for a friends wedding. We are glad our stay was only 5 nights, but then it was for 5 nights! :-(

Review 125：Too long await for my room in my opinion. I know that the arrangement is for 2pm, but after such a long journey and arriving first thing in the morning (about 9am), it was annoying not to be able to rest and relax properly until my room was available. They say that Wifi has too be paid for in your room. The reality is that this is not actually the case.

Review 130：Location is great. The best part of Chaweng beach for swimming and away from the noise of Ark Bar. Restaurants on the beach lovely for dinner and the pool is amazing with a pool bar. We had a room with private pool which is also a bonus if you want to spend the extra. Massages on the beach, plenty of lounges around the pool and on the beach so all in all just a superb holiday. We will definitely stay there again.
