Reviews for Hotel Estero Beach

Review 1:Hotel staff didn't tell us at checkin that we needed to make a reservation for New Years dinner. So we showed up at the restaurant expecting a seat. Unfortunately there is no other place to eat in the area so we had to convince them to give us a spot.

Review 2:Really nice resort for 2 couples to hang out at over New Years. Great hot tubs and not too crowded of a resort overall. Would go again for sure.

Review 3:I didn't like how pricy the food was when it wasn't even that great. Also the horse back riding was at a ridiculous price they said it would be $15 for 15 minutes. Plus they didn't look clean or healthy. The pool wasn't heated so we didn't get to enjoy it because it was too cold.

Review 4:The location is beautiful and secluded. The hot tubs were great. The museum was very pleasant as well. We had a great view from our room.

Review 5:Everything was perfect, I had a room with the perfect view, I will definitely be back with my family... My girls loved the pool... Very private and quiet very good to relax...

Review 6:Beds were extremely firm so beware of a stiff back in the morning. Tub and shower needs upgrade. Biggest complaint is the room we were in had a broken AC unit. We asked to have it checked and nothing was done. And resulted in 3 very uncomfortable days when wer were in the room and sleepless nights. So for that alone i would not give Estero the rating i wish I could.

Review 7:Location and amenities were all there. If you didn't have to leave the property you wont need to. Pool and scenery was awesome. Well maintained grounds, and great resteraunt and staff.

Review 8:Bad wifi

Review 9:Loved the view and the room was great as well. Was a bit disappointed that the wifi barely worked, but all the other amenities were off the charts.

Review 10:Ivan, the person in charge of the pool area, was very rude and lacked of manners. He ignored our requests such as replacing two of broken pool chairs, and also we kindly asked him to change the music since he kept playing the same music over and over which became annoying. He also did not allowed my daughter and my grandkids in the pool claiming that the pool open at 10am. However, he allowed two families in the pool since 9:15am. We know there are rules but it was obvious that he was not consistent on applying them. At the restaurant, the wait was almost 45 minutes for breakfast. Our bread instead of being toasted it was burned. Towel service is not available by the pool area.

Review 11:The fast pass The view is espectacular

Review 12:The t.v., bed and everything in the room is very old, and they don't have refrigerator or microwave. The music at the pool is very loud. Many Mosquitos appear at evening.

Review 13:Great location, if you are looking for a quite place with private beach and a big pool.

Review 14:All was fabulous!

Review 15:Friendly, extremely helpful, bilingual staff; clean facilities; delicious food at the restaurant; private beach; quiet; dated architecture, but so, so charming; safe; museum on premises; easy to hire taxi/tour for wine country

Review 16:Need to have a better restaurant on the resort, Monday was the worst dayto visit the restaurant, no meats, no eggs, ketchup. We where forse totake a drive out of the resort to eat and have drinks, this took timeout of us to enjoy the resort more. Not enough towels in the pool areas, not enough lounge chairs on the beach side, some of the umbrellas werebroken, the security guards around the pool and beach side were rude andnot helpful. The guard in the pool area was to busy trying to pick up onthe guest and not paid any attention to his job, the phones were notworking and we asked to get the front desk on his walkie talkie and hesaid "NO, you need to walk to front desk on your own, and then wentback to pick up on the lady guest. We had great times in the past staysbut this one is was not good at all, you need to work on your customerservice needs and managers of the restaurant need to know how many guestin the resort to have enough food stored to please and keep guest in theresort and not forse them to leave and not enjoy esterio beach resort.

Review 17:Front desk great, house keeping great, rooms clean, great parkingand the Fast Pass for the border was the fastest way to avoid the 3hour wait.

Review 18:Surprised that dinner menu had almost no Mexican food. Breakfast at least had Mexican options. Bathroom in our room was very clean but could use an upgrade as far as new door (ours was coming apart at the thin plywood facade), and old fixtures on bath tub.

Review 19:Very pleasant and helpful staff. Nice pool and pleasant grounds to walk around. Beautiful views of the bay.

Review 20:Wifi could be improved Towel station by pool should be open longer

Review 21:Loved the peaceful atmosphere. It has a homie feel to it. We tried a different hotel & although it was much fancier it just was not Estero

Review 22:The location is excellent. The 24 hours security. Rooms were big and clean. Lots of TV channels. The Staff were very friendly and helpful. Very beautiful property.

Review 23:When we checked in they wanted to charge us more money when he had already paid and made our reservations thrue booking.com they wanted to charge us for each child and our reservation we made children were included.

Review 24:The pool, the view, outdoors was beautiful.

Review 25:WiFi was too slow, could not load a web page most of the time, but then again it meant that i spent more time with the family and less on my phone, so that's a good thing.

Review 26:It was a fun weekend, we were three families, each with 2-3 children. The staff was great, the rooms were clean (we didn't have the upgraded ones but they were still very nice and very clean), Pool was fun, Jacuzzi was hot, Jet ski was only $70/h so we all pitched in and the kids had fun. The breakfast was amazing for under $10/person. will go again!

Review 27:The location is far from town and activities. The room was old and a bit run down. The restaurant was very disappointing. The resort keeps horses, ponies, and camels that are treated poorly and not well cared for.

Review 28:The pool was nice.

Review 29:Everything went well the only thing I didn't like was that I went to spend Mother's day weekend with my mom and on Sunday (acutal Mother's day) they didn't let us eat at their restaurant that it was only for people who reserved. I wasn't told that I had to reserve for that day in the lobby when I checked in that would have been appreciated and when I told the lady she just shrugged like oh wells sorry. ALot of the reservations were not even from guests they were outside people. I left with my family hungry and I was very upset. It kind of killed my vibe for the rest of the day but other than that it was a nice stay.

Review 30:the resort is really nice and they have plenty of activities to keep you busy. The pool and jacuzzi are amazing. There's a swim up bar that I love and my son rode horses next door. They have a private and a public beach therefore you can choose. The room had a nice view on the 2nd floor so it was worth the price we paid

Review 31:Did not feel the raise in rates were justified ...Thought they were already at a premium...

Review 32:Never felt that our grandchildren were in harms way. Exploring the esturary was a greeat learning experience....

Review 33:The room was only partially clean in comparison with U.S. standards. Two in a room but only 1 wash cloth. The biggest complaint was that we only got 4 hours of sleep. Our room was by parking lot. Loud noise until 1 a.m. and then started again at 5: a.m. Not quiet or even semi-quiet.

Review 34:I loved how friendly and nice the staff was and especially Roberto our waiter at breakfast was the nicest man.

Review 35:it's out of ensenada by quite a bit, so you're somewhat isolated. stop by the Oxxo and grab beers on the way. Restaurant was fine but not amazing - have appropriate expectations.

Review 36:the staff were very welcoming, the hotel was very clean, the pool was nice and conveniently includes a swim-up bar (the only one in the hotel), and the wifi was fast

Review 37:The only con to this establishment was a slow and unreliable Wi-Fi. The bandwith of their Internet service is rather slow, but I was able to do small work wile there.

Review 38:What did I like most of this Hotel? Everything! It is perfectly located in a nice quiet and safe zone in Esenada, Mexico. The establishment is located inside a private section of Estero Beach. The rooms are quiet, regardless of what side of Hotel you stay on; at least this weekday when I stayed was. The staff is genuine, friendly, and they are bilingual so you need not worry for an interpreting device. Definitely a little hidden gem in Ensenada.

Review 39:Check in u are overcharged from original booking. Rooms are dingy, toilet loose mold tiles chipped wood, remote didnt work, cracked ceiling, dirty carpet, everything overpriced almost being ripped off is this mexico or beverly hills.Waterfalls turned off pool bar in person looks like needs to be demolished.

Review 40:view only positive

Review 41:Nothing. All was wonderful.

Review 42:The property was beautiful. Very well maintained. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. We had a pool/ocean view and it was beautiful. The restaurant on property was delicious. We had dinner there 2 nights. Service was excellent. We will definitely return on our next visit to Ensenada.

Review 43:No biggie, but No showers by the hotel pool. They expect you to shower down before and after, so I guess you have to do it from your room.

Review 44:Exemplifies the title Resort and Spa, definitely a good find for many future family activities.

Review 45:There wasn't much to dislike. The air conditioner was installed so it blew on the bed instead of on the other end of the room. Also there is salt water in the tap and shower but it wasn't too bad.

Review 46:Isolated location. Did not bring family but this would be a great family vacation spot. Very quiet at night.

Review 47:Wifi was slow in our room, had to go outside to get a faster connection. Restaurant food was adequate, but for how much you pay it should've been better.

Review 48:Amazing views, great area, clean and fun. Played volleyball, used the jacuzzi, all up to standards.

Review 49:The WiFi connection was always spotted and we were always loosing our connection in the middle of a search for new places to visit. :/

Review 50:The people at the hotel made us feel welcome all the time.

Review 51:The resort needs some updates as there are loose tiles, etc that require repair. The WiFi continually shuts down, which makes working from the resort impossible. We did not like that toilets do not allow the disposal of toilet paper. Having to dispose of paper seperatey is not acceptable. This facility needs a better sewage treatment solution.

Review 52:The view was beautiful. The bar staff (Miguel) was fantastic!

Review 53:The food at the restaurant was surprisingly good and affordable. Beautiful place to walk. We also did some shore fishing (with little luck). Nice pool and jacuzzi. A bit out of town which is good and bad. The good: calming and quiet and right on the ocean. The bad: lack of restaurants within walking distance and if you need supplies the resort store is pretty lean.

Review 54:The only option for new years dinner was the $100 buffet or sushi so we had the sushi. It would have been nice to order off the regular menu but not do the $100 buffet.

Review 55:I love the views and the jacuzzis. They were always hot. The grounds are beautiful.

Review 56:Very little water pressure when showering.

Review 57:The cost of the meals at the resort restaurant was reasonable. The buffet on Sunday was well worth the price. The sunsets are incredible.

Review 58:WiFi drops frequently. Missing refrigerator. Missing microwave. Limited drinking water, unless requested.

Review 59:Location on beach Hot tub, pool. Bike, kayak rental Landscaping Breakfast

Review 60:Very expensive when all added together. Food double, plus 16 percent government tax + tip = a lot !! Government room tax ! Watch what they hold on your credit card and make sure they give it back ! Keep all your receipts. No other restaurants within walking distance. All amenities over priced ( double ). Sandy beach 50 yards long. Nothing to do at "resort". Pool 57 degrees.

Review 61:Upgraded my room without asking. Food was good. Staff were all pleasant and helpful.

Review 62:I think the pool was supposed to be heated..but was very cold

Review 63:We love the relaxing atmosphere. .all the staff at restaurant were very nice..the breakfast was great

Review 64:Loud fireworks at night (no holiday, just people getting their kicks). Also jet-skiers intentionally disturbing the flocks of birds in the estuary was a drag to see.

Review 65:Location on the estuary had gorgeous views & sunsets. Had top floor ocean-view room in Palenque unit. Mostly clean except for the floors in the bathroom (very dirty). Furniture was in good condition, as was the bed. Decent prices at the bar, good basic margarita. Views to the ocean & beyond were excellent.

Review 66:WiFi cuts off too fast.

Review 67:First family vacation and it was just right. Pool was nice, Jacuzzi and the beds were comfortable. It was very nice experience. Looking forward to more times there.

Review 68:A little isolated from downtown but if you have a car or just want to stay in the hotel it is perfect. I will definitively go back!

Review 69:I am not big on resorts but I would definitively recommend this place. The view is amazing, the staff is awesome and the hotel great.

Review 70:Rooms were really old, mosquitoes attacked my boyfriend, the restaurant and pool bar were really old. This hotel would be better if they did some updating.

Review 71:The view of the ocean

Review 72:The wifi was not the best but it worked and it would have been nice to have the breakfast included. However it wasn't expensive at all to eat at the hotel and the food was much much better than your ordinary continentinal. Overall I really enjoyed my stay

Review 73:The breakfast buffet, the bed, the pool and the view

Review 74:A relatively minor thing. The shower was very plain, with no place to put bottles or soap. Also, the band for the restaurant played until 11pm. We were tired and wanting to sleep, so it was a bit of an annoyance. But we soon crashed anyway.

Review 75:We had an ocean view room and the ocean in that part of Mexico is very unique. It is an Estero, meaning that it is ocean water that flows inland and creates a sort of bay. So the water is tranquil and warm. The malecon, behind the hotel offered a great walk along the waterfront. It was quiet and safe. In the morning we awoke to a bright sunny ocean view, just stunning. We walked down to a fabulous buffet breakfast, with everything under the sun available as well as table service for coffee and clearing used plates. Everyone was courteous and efficient. The grounds were beautifully manicured and offered many amenities that we didn't use, but nonetheless, appreciated. I would recommend this resort to anyone who wants to get a tropical resort experience, that is closer to the U.S. and at an affordable price.

Review 76:I have paid less for more things included (like breakfast). Location isn't the best (far from the center), but I guess it depends on what you are looking for. The bathtub didn't have any way of stopping the water from draining. The staff failed to provide a cap or something and a towel was used.

Review 77:The cleanliness was good and the general aesthetics of the place make it a good option. It's a big enough place. It's to the side of the beach and has a nice view. The air conditioning system had a good performance. The bed was comfortable and big.

Review 78:The restrooms are in desperate need of renovation. Hardware throughout the facility was corroded and the public restrooms were out I order the whole time we were there. They advertise free WiFi but it's such a weak signal we never became connected. The room televisions were old and boxy with poor image, they must have been about 15+ years old. There was some trash throughout but overall clean.

Review 79:We enjoyed the exclusive and safe feel of the propery.

Review 80:The front stair was camoflauged and I tipped off it a couple times b/c I couldn't see it, hurting my knee.

Review 81:I love the room, patio, quietness, though it was booked solid.

Review 82:When we arrived just before 4:00 pm our room was not ready and was not ready for another hour. In addition, office staff did not offer any amenity for our inconvenience. I requested late checkout but was denied. Also, I called room service to request a knife to cut some food items for lunch in our room and it was never delivered.

Review 83:The housekeeping staff were great. The room was beautiful and the resort activity staff were wonderful and friendly. We really enjoyed kayaking and the public beach was awesome.

Review 84:the toilet system needs some upgrades but that could have been just our room, and the WI-fI was slow

Review 85:We enjoyed are stay very much. the staff was outstanding, the service was good, and the restaurant great. We will be returning soon.

Review 86:Don't expect the Ritz Carlton. But it is decent by Ensenada standards

Review 87:Private, secure location, next to the water, good pool area, and good restaurant.

Review 88:some upgrades on the televisions in the rooms and better wifi

Review 89:this is one of the best views in Ensenada from a hotel.I would recommend this place to get away from the crowds

Review 90:Had to call four times to get a roll-away bed I'd requested. Could have a few more on-site activities since it's isolated, like a basketball court for example. No horseback riding as advertised. Would be nice to have SUP boards and be able to check out board games or DVD players and movies.

Review 91:Friendly employees, very helpful and kind. Nice location on the bay. Huge rooms. Very relaxing. Our Maya room was remodeled nicely and the bathroom was beautiful. Could rent kayaks and waverunners, tennis courts and a volleyball court available.

Review 92:Good

Review 93:The staff is exceptional! Shout out to Miguel, a great bartender, and his amigos & amigas!! You guys are great!!Gem of the

Review 94:The shrimp Alfredo was salty after asking low salt , but made up for it with cake.

Review 95:The view were fantastic

Review 96:The staff are great, I can really recommend the restaurant and bar here. The people and the food were awesome.

Review 97:I didn't look quality of service at restaurant.

Review 98:I loved the resort feel and how much there is to do. My favorite of coarse, the view on premises.

Review 99:It's a lovely resort/hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. The restaurant was very good.

Review 100:Wish there was a lobby type area to relax late night or early am.

Review 101:Too isolated and the private beach sucked

Review 102:Staff were friendly

Review 103:Only complaint I had was I found ants on the vanity in the bathroom.

Review 104:Very tranquil, room was very large with a terrific view.

Review 105:Fabulous location. Beautiful views. Fantastic pool & hot tub. Staff was wonderful--friendly, accommodating, helpful. Really enjoyed our stay!

Review 106:WiFi was not good so we had no internet access.

Review 107:Everything was very clean and great service.

Review 108:Ok

Review 109:Bar too expensive

Review 110:the salty water in the shower

Review 111:the pool

Review 112:Beds were hard to sleep, bathroom not clean, toilet didnt flush

Review 113:Closed to the ocean

Review 114:It"s old but good maintain.

Review 118:Too far from town

Review 119:Great reception staff; could not do enough for us!

Review 120:WiFi only worked if u were at the pool area not in room well enough to use

Review 121:great room / great location / great view

Review 122:poor wheelchair excess, and terrible wifi connection

Review 123:Staff was kind and helpful, the view from our room was beautiful

Review 124:The perfect place to go relax. The rooms are nice, comfortable, and clean.

Review 125:Wifi didnt work. Not much to do

Review 126:Restaurant great, pool was nice. Wfi didnt work

Review 127:The sushi was horrible

Review 128:The accommodations

Review 129:I liked the pools and the fact that the beach is not open to the public.

Review 130:Second floor to far from swimming pool

Review 131:Locasion is short

Review 132:me gustaria incluyeran el servicio de buffet,

Review 133:i didn't like that the WiFi wasn't good at all it only worked on some places.

Review 134:Outdated furniture.

Review 135:Excellent food at great price. Excellent view to the bay and mountains. Clean well keep.
