Reviews for Casazul Milfontes

Review 1:Paulo and Natércia were terrific hosts. This nicely decorated 6-room hotel is in a quiet neighborhood 1.5 km from center of town. Shared kitchen and lounge area. Easy walk to restaurants and grocery stores. Exceptional breakfast included home baked regional pastries. Street parking.

Review 2:This place is absolutely clean, cosy, quiet, close to the beaches and the little city center, well maintained, not (!) difficult to find - and Paulo is a great host. Our daily highlight in Casazul was having the incredible breakfast. Paulo made us very, very happy with his fresh juices, good coffee, tasty bread, several home-made jams, fruits, cake etc. etc. The value-for-money is just perfect.

Review 3:Paulo and Natércia showed incredible hospitality and made us feel very welcome. When I needed to do some work during the stay, I could make use of the guest dining room and generally had all the facilities (especially the very well equipped kitchen) at my disposal. The breakfast was a unique experience and featured (among other treats) home-made pumpkin, apple, and tomato jam. A feast, really! Staying at Casazul Milfontes was a bit like staying at an old friend's house. We highly recommend it!

Review 4:I really loved this B&B! Paulo and Natercia are perfect hosts, Paulo always knew my name ;-). There are only 4 rooms, every room has it`s own little terrace. The room was lovely decorated, spotless clean and the bed was comfortable. It was sooo quiet at night! There is a kitchen for all guests (with a small beer for free for me ;-), thank you!), which you can use (fridge, glasses etc.). Paulo gave me a ride to a local restaurant for a late dinner, which was really nice! The food there was really good and i met some nice people there too. My host also gave me a little map and explained everything to me (beaches, shops...). Milfontes is a nice little town with beautiful beaches along the river and the sea, you can walk walk walk ;-). But the absolutely best of my stay was BREAKFAST! Very delicious self-made jam and cakes! Fruits, tomato&mozarella toast... and very good coffee! Everything is served in front of your room and you get as much as you want. What a lovely place! I felt at home and i will definitely come back! Thank you!

Review 5:the location is a bit outside of the city. If you have a car it`s fast approx 5 min. if you have to walk maybe 20-30 min.

Review 6:the room was very clear and big. the stuff was very helpful anf frindly. We stayed one night and didnt booked the breakfast.

Review 7:Easy to find if you use the navi :)

Review 8:Great hospitality, nicely decorated, very comfortable bed, they lend us bicycles to go to the beach, outstanding breakfast - would stay there again and longer!

Review 9:Paulo and staff were excellent for our short stay. Brekkie was fantastic, the bedrooms cozy and facilities felt just like home. We had a great stay! We'll definitely be back. MilFontes is worth the visit. Casazul is a gem.

Review 10:Casazul Milfontes was wonderful. The owner was very friendly and helpful--offered me a beer when I arrived after the day's hike and good recommendations for what to see, where to eat, etc. It's a few minutes from the town center, but they have bikes you can borrow which was a great way to explore the town, and they drove me to the bus stop in the morning. Comfortable rooms and excellent breakfast.

Review 11:20 min walk to town for restaurants, some on a busy street with no walkways. Not a big problem, just wasn't expected.

Review 12:Friendly, welcoming staff. Simple, but very good home made breakfast. Quiet.

Review 13:The shower used a wrap around curtain...this was a minor dislike.

Review 14:The breakfast by far was the best we had while in Portugal and not to be missed! It included sliced meat, cheese, soft cheese with tomatoes, fresh fruits in yogurt with poppy seeds on top, toast, cake, etc. The owner was incredibly kind and helpful even dropping us off at our dinner location and finding us in town to pick us up, rooms were nicely decorated. Highly recommend staying here.

Review 15:Its a little way out of town if you do not have car but Paulo did pick us up and give us a lift into town in the evening too so the location is not a problem with such a helpful and friendly owner.

Review 16:The rooms, the value for money and most of all being so well looked after by the proprietor Paulo. Nothing was too much trouble and the breakfast was superb.

Review 17:Lovely B&B away from the busy tourist spots. With only 3 rooms, there definitely is a personal touch to your stay. Very friendly owner who is very helpful in giving advice on what to do in the area. Amazing breakfast! Fresh juice/fruit, home made jam, toast, cake, coffee/tea, ... will definitely stay here again!

Review 18:Situated just 3 km outside of Vila Nova de Milfontes, it is a lovely and homey place with just six rooms. The tourism office has maps showing you the best way, but the owner even picked me up from the tourism office, showed me around the village before taking me to the B&B. there he spent an hour with me, making tea, telling what to do and just having a nice chat. I felt right at home, enkowing a neautiful evening wih wine and a good book. the breakfAst was amazing and they went th extra mile with it. Thank you! looking forward to come back and stay longer...

Review 19:having to drive to do anything, but if you already know this is the situation, this is fine as the hotel is lovely.

Review 20:Really nice room with comfortable bed and balcony. very clean, very quiet. lovely helpful owner who provided a massive tasty breakfast. I didn't realise it would be so far to the beach or a restaurant, we needed to drive everywhere. The hotel is located just outside Milfontes in a residential area, which is nice but I would have preferred to not have to get in the car for everything.

Review 21:Owners are very friendly and helpfull. Breakfast is excellent and served in a nice garden, area is quiet but still close to the city centre. Bikes could be stalled safely an dry. Clean and comfortable rooms.

Review 22:We wanted to stay longer!

Review 23:Peaceful quiet and only 20 minute walk to town. The most delicious breakfast with home made jam and fresh baked cake. The staff were super friendly and helpful. It was perfect.

Review 24:Nothing. No disappointments.

Review 25:Paulo and his family were wonderful hosts. Very warm, friendly, and helpful. Breakfast was nicest we had in a month of travels.

Review 26:That our stay was so short!

Review 27:Everything-the silence all around, being woken up by birds and roosters, the star-strewn sky at night, the cosy and clean room, Mr. Paulo's culinary creations at breakfast, the nature activities with Mr. Carlos, the rugged beauty of the Alentejo coast...

Review 28:If you are on foot, it's a bit far from the bus stop and the centre.

Review 60:perfect place to stay with delicious breakfast. Familiar atmosphere, the staff is very friendly and helpful - just can recommend this place!

Review 61:It is certainly a bit away from the center of Milfontes, however, Paolo offered a lift and provided bicycles for free (then it is only 10 minutes to the center of Milfontes)

Review 62:Very friendly and helpful host, best breakfast ever. Very clean. You really feel that you are welcomed here

Review 63:Casazul offers an excellent breakfast and was a very good starting point for our hike along the rota vicentina. Paulo was so kind to drive us whenever we wanted to go into town. We wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Review 64:No complaints!

Review 65:friendly reception, took the room upstairs with the balcony on the front side, nice room with sufficient space. Breakfast was as expected: fresh and home made, excellent. Forgot to bring a jacket, but this was sent to us without any problem, good service, nice people!

Review 66:The rooms are a bit small, the bed a bit small, but these are not serious complaints, particularly since we stayed only one night.

Review 67:Paulo is super friendly and, although his place is a long way from town, it's not far from the Rota Vincentina and he will readily pick you up and drive you that 2km out of town. We walked it but he drive us into town for dinner, gave us a excellent recommendation (actually he gave us a number of choices) and he picked us up at a per-arranged location. He also got up early to make us an outstanding breakfast so we could hit the trail early. Breakfast included fresh squeezed OJ and fruit, yogurt, ham, cheese bread. Abundant ans excellent food. The spot is quiet and the stars are visible at night. Highly recommended!!!

Review 68:You have to drive to get to the center of the city and the beaches. We didnt really have wifi conection in our room which was a minor anoyance

Review 69:Incredible breakfast and incredible staff. They gave us a lot of tips on how to get around

Review 70:Room was pretty small, but clean and comfortable.

Review 71:Friendly staff. We got lost trying to find it and the owner came and found us. Breakfast was good. Pretty courtyard.

Review 72:A little bit further out of the town than indicated by booling.com and not easy to find for first visit.

Review 73:quiet location, good breakfast, friendly staff, value for money. Helpful recommendations for restaurants in the town.

Review 74:For backpackers (without a car) it is not in the centre of Vila Nova but Paulo offers bikes for free which takes you less than 10 minutes to downtown.

Review 75:Paulo, the owner, is the most wonderful and helpful Portuguese I met on my Portugal trip. The apartment was so quiet, nice and clean and with many beautiful interior details. The breakfast was incredible. You get everything you can think of which is served in such a nice way in front of your room where you have your own table and chairs. You get fresh and homemade products that make your stay very comfortable. I would definately come back!

Review 76:Parking could be an issue in the height of the season.

Review 77:Easy to find, relaxed, the owner Paulo was brilliant and only a short distance from bars/restaurants.

Review 78:We got Vila Nova de Milfontes at midnight and did not know where the hotel is located. We were found by the hotel owner somewhere in the town and were kindly convoyed to the hotel. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff is friendly and hospitable. The best breakfast in Portugal. Homemade ham, marmelade and jam, the tastiest coffee. The atmosphere was great so that day had very good beginning.

Review 79:Amazing place, bit in the side of Vila Nova da Milfontes so you would need a car or bicycle to go to the river and beach. Hotel is small but very cosy and designed with heart to details, staff extraordinary friendly and the owner takes care personally of everything, breakfast they serve us soooo very goood, best we had in Portugal! Everything homemade or local product. We will definitely come back to this hotel! Don't miss it! :-) Monika and Gregory

Review 80:I wouldnt recommend it in August - it was overcrowded, the restaurants were overpriced.

Review 81:Very nice surroundings - specifically beached in the north of the city.

Review 82:The room was a bit too small, maybe should be cheaper...

Review 83:The owner was very friendly and helpfull, nice location, good breakfast in the small garden in front of the room

Review 84:The hostel was wonderful, is like a typical house from Alentejo, with just 3 (very nice) bedrooms. Until 10:30 the gourmet breakfast is served on the garden. The stuff and the owner is very nice, friendly and professional.

Review 85:More a little warning than anything we did not like: It is indeed a bit difficult to find, so you might have to call to ask for directions.

Review 86:The place is just lovely. You immediately feel at home. And having breakfast served on your own little terrace in front of your room is just amazing!

Review 87:Best breakfast in the garden (just outside from your room with service) ever.... Only fresh ingredients: orange juice, jam, cakes, etc. Personal really friendly!!!

Review 88:Bit far from town without driving.

Review 89:Every room is individually decorated with nice little touches. The owners are very friendly and full of useful advice.

Review 90:There's absolutely nothing we did not like! Everything was great :)

Review 91:We stayed at Casazul in the red room "Rio" for two nights. The room is beautifully furnished, modern and very clean. In the bathroom you will find a hair dryer in the cabinet below the sink. The red room (and at least one other room, but I don't know which color/name) has a balcony. There's also a shared kitchen with a fridge for you to use. Very handy for keeping cheese and wine or beer cool until the evening :) Last but not least, the breakfast: toast, home-made jam, ham and cheese, fresh fruits, cake, coffee and espresso .. definitely a good start for the day :) A few words about directions: you find the exact spot on their website or directly with Google Earth or Google Maps (GPS: 37.7409496, -8.7692973). Using that map, you will find it rather easily. If nobody is there when you arrive, give Paolo a call. Maybe even just call or text him 30 minutes in advance. He and Natércia are very kind. We also got lots of tips on which nearby places to visit. We definitely recommend Casazul, if you staying a week or just stopping by on your way.

Review 92:The staff is excellent, very nice people and always ready to help you and to advise you what nice places to visit. The house is really cute and is place very comfortable to stay. The breakfast is really good, and with sun you could start the day eating in the garden. Very nice to rest and to recharge energy.

Review 93:The bedding was very humid. Luckily the warm weather made it easy to dry out in the sun.

Review 94:The hospitality and the excellent breakfast. Being welcomed by the owner serving lemon juice and home made cake.

Review 95:the breakfast was awesome! and Paulo was very kind giving great tipps what to do and see. Anytime again!
