Reviews for Hotel Las Rosas & Spa
Review 1:Didn't like the bathroom. Didn't like where the gym was located and it had no lights. Didn't like where the spa was located and the massage was really expensive. It wasn't super clean; they can do better. The resort was not easy to find and get to from the road, specially when coming from downtown.
Review 2:Awesome staff. Next to the beach with awesome views. The food was good. The room was comfortable.
Review 3:Not enough outlets in the room for phone charging. Didn't have a bed side lamp.
Review 4:Charming old world service. Excellent food, relaxing, quiet, picturesque. Not a place for wild night life which I liked. Ten minutes to the village another plus for me.
Review 5:That our room was never cleaned
Review 6:Everyone was amazing we have stayed here a few times we were here with the big group big family reunion the only thing that was questionable was the cleanliness our room was not very clean and then when we left for a day trip and return our room was never cleaned we do appreciate that you comped. Us also the fixtures were broken and one was hanging off of the wall however we absolutely loved your staff very friendly and very efficient food was amazing !
Review 7:About 30 minutes from downtown. Directly adjacent to major Mexican freeway.
Review 8:The bar, restaraunt and jacuzzi were very nice. The staff were friendly and helpful. Great view from room.
Review 9:The traffic noise from the door side of the room
Review 10:The hotel was comfortable, clean. Food was great. The wife loved the view of the ocean. The security of staying here.
Review 11:This may be asking too much, but the towels were super thin, not plentiful, no bath mat provided...otherwise, I cannot complain!!
Review 12:Great location, lovely grounds, lovely staff!
Review 13:I honestly don't have 1 complaint and no I don't work there...
Review 14:This place is as clean as any Ritz in the world. The rooms are extremely clean and the views are beautiful.
Review 15:We were on the 3rd floor spa tub suite, but unfortunatley the hot tub broke, it wouldn't turn off so we had to be moved to the bottom floor which was kind a bummer.
Review 16:The views are stunning and the staff was very nice. Also everything was so cheap.
Review 17:Adjoining room security needs to be improved. Having a deadbolt that can't be pried open would be a good solution.
Review 18:Love the sound of the waves here. It is a great and affordable getaway for couples, and has many ocean look outs that make you feel like you have the place to yourselves. Super clean!
Review 19:Could be a bit cleaner. Dated rooms. Spa treatments are on the expensive side.
Review 20:The amenities are on point the pool is gorgeous with stunning views. The rooms over look the ocean, they are dated but 100% better then hotels I have stayed at in Ensenada. Staff was extremely helpful and on top of it. The restaurant/bar has great service and selection. 24 hour store across the street.
Review 21:The Hotel is located next to a two lane road with around the clock traffic which makes it sometimes difficult to sleed. The rooms need refurbishment: old furniture, old carpets, old doors and Windows.
Review 22:The Hotel is located directly at the ocean (no sand beach, but rock). It has a beautyful pool and garden area and a Jacuzzi. Also the view from the Restaurant is magnificent. There is also a Sauna and a gym.
Review 23:They were charging us for things we didn't use . Like restaurant fees and they mistaken our rooms with somebody elses. I didn't like that at all!!!
Review 24:The view, the room, and the friendly people there.
Review 25:Received confirmation number, but on arrival, hotel was full and unable to accommodate us. It was so frustrating because we had to search for new hotel, and we had a hard time.
Review 26:We had been given a "fast pass" for the US border last year, and were told by 3 people at the front dest that there would be one available for us to use for our return trip to San Diego. The day of check out an abrupt woman hotel clerk told us the hotel had been out of passes for quite some time and no more would be issued for the remainder of November. She said the other clerks should have told us that too. She said they were only to be used for "medical" purposes in any case. We later found out that is not true. The Mexican government issues them to both hotels and medical facilities as incentives for US citizens to visit Mexico. As a result it took us more than 2 hours to cross the border with a year old baby crying most of the time. We will look at other nice hotels in the area for our next trip south.
Review 27:Perfect location and beautiful rooms. Very reasonable rates, free parking, delicious breakfast. Great place to bring our 4 generations of family members. All staff very friendly and helpful except one woman front desk clerk (manager?)
Review 28:The front desk staff was not attentive. Many issues were wrong with the room, no phone, sliding glass screen off track, one chair on patio, no instructions for the tub, coffee maker but no coffee offered, to name a few. They did not offer to move rooms when i told them of issues. Restaurant not knowing the menu, menu stating guacamole but they don't serve it. Hot tub needs resurfacing.
Review 29:The resort has a beautiful view.
Review 30:A bit run down, and a bit of noise from the main road out back. A bit pricy for what it is.
Review 31:Good location with a fantastic view. Very friendly and helpful staff and great breakfast.
Review 32:We enjoyed our stay at Las Rosas. The hotel was very nicely decorated and maintained. The outdoor patio area was beautiful with an infinity pool and waves crashing on the rocks below. Everyone on the staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room was large and comfortable, and the view from the balcony was stunning.
Review 33:Some lights did not work.
Review 34:The Staff are very friendly. The pool and facilities were excellent. Food in the hotel was delicious. View of the Pacific Ocean was incredible.
Review 35:No refrigerator. No English channels. No microwave, hair dryer, or iron.gravel walkways from parking area to room 108 -we expressed my husband was handicapped. He felt Unsafe walking on gravel. Pool had sand in it. Oh yes. No ice makers almost forgot.
Review 36:View
Review 37:Would have been good to have had a small fridge and an electric jug to make tea.
Review 38:The infinity pool was great and the view from there was lovely. Also view of the sunset from our deck was superb. Stall were very pleasant and the food was good.
Review 39:The room was probably the worst part of the stay, the toilet seat was broken where it was fastened to the toilet, the door to the bathroom was like a collapsible closet door type that had to be lifted to close, the room accommodations were mediocre at best, definitely not the 8.3 rating it currently has, also I drove from California and there has never been an issue getting the fast pass for my return with stays at other hotels, but there was a real issue with this, but at check out they were finally able to get it after trying for 2days
Review 40:The lobby, bar, restaurant and exterior beachside of the property is beautiful, has an infinity pool looking over the cliff and probably the best michelada I've had.
Review 41:My memories of the restaurant were a large part of what prompted me to return to Las Rosas. Sadly, the quality of the food and the variety available were not nearly on par with 10 years ago. At the same time, the prices have risen steeply, so I did not feel like I received good value for the meals I had in the hotel.
Review 42:The location and facilities are as lovely as I remember, and the service was excellent. No where else can you go to sleep to the sound of crashing waves for only $140 per night.
Review 43:front desk staff not attentive, when we arrived there was no electricity, wi/fi was lntermitent for the duration of our stay, cheap bathroom linen, dirty pool
Review 44:great veiw
Review 45:No beach access, nothing to do immediately next to hotel, had to take a taxi if wanted to go anywhere else for restaurants/activities
Review 46:Beautiful pool, perfect for watching the sunset every night. Good food at hotel restaurant.
Review 47:The bed wasn't very confortable
Review 48:The view was amazing! All the rooms face the ocean, the hotel & restaurant staff were very friendly, breakfast at hotel was very good and excellent prices.
Review 49:The rooms could use some upgrading.
Review 50:The staff is absolutely amazing! Especially the restaurant severs and housekeeping. They are always available and go out of their way to exceed your expectations. The food quality is impressive at an extremely reasonable price. The views and the pool are a must see.
Review 51:The bar drinks were very good friendly staff ...room view of the ocean just perfect just when ordering out by the pool area the service took like 1/2 hour to bring 2 drink but overall perfect.
Review 52:The ocean view was amazing.
Review 53:The facilities, especially the bathroom were dated and need to be updated (cracked sink; old fixtures).
Review 54:the view was incredible! The room was nice and large, and overall clean.
Review 55:They could have done better job blocking highway noise.
Review 56:All rooms face the ocean with the magnificent view of the ocean and disappearing edge pool, hotel staff is friendly and helpful.
Review 57:I was dissappointed with the massage prices. It's pretty much the same thing you pay in the US, so I didn't get one.
Review 58:My friends and I were looking for a weekend getaway that was not going to break the bank, and I found this place! We absolutely loved it!!! The room was on the 2nd floor and had a balcony with a great ocean view. At night we left the door to balcony open and listened to the ocean waves, and that was so relaxing! We loved the Jacuzzi area and the endless pool of course! I'd definetely come back again.
Review 59:We love the location, the tide pools, the friendly staff and terrific little spa! Just north of Ensenada on a curve in the road, it's quiet and pretty!
Review 60:The only thing that would of been great was if it had a mini fridge..but other than that, i love it..
Review 61:Our stay was very relaxing.. Every night that we were there, we left our balcony door open to hear the waves onf the beach wich were very soothing and relaxing..
Review 62:Room req'd maintenance. One closet door not slideing No place to hang t.p. roll. (roller missing) Toilet flush handle needs adjustment.
Review 63:We love the place. Hope to visit again soon.
Review 64:Room had no balcony/view. Room was not ready by 4pm Wanted to charge us for breakfast When we got breakfast it was lame
Review 65:Location is awesome. Building is very nice
Review 66:The hotel staff was the best. The bartender and receptionist were very friendly and spoke great english. After a day at sea, we brought our catch back to the hotel and chef cooked it for us for dinner. DELICIOUS. Would stay here again 10/10
Review 67:the wine was excellent a red zinfandel. the Bar had no idea how to mix a drink. margaritas tasted like lemonade and my gin martini was mixed with mineral water !
Review 68:the view, the attentiveness of the staff
Review 69:The hotel is in a lovely location right on the shoreline of the Pacific Ocean. Ensenada is a busy port so there is a lot of action on the water; perfect if you like to spend an afternoon or two on your room's balcony enjoying the sights from this special spot near the water.
Review 70:Our bed was very uncomfortable. It was sunk in at the head of the bed, meaning the mattress needed to be rotated or flipped. Our room had a sewer smell the first day. Probably due to old pipes or ventilation. Fixed itself after a couple of hours. Pool was FREEZING. They may want to invest in a heating unit. Property condition was just ok. It needs upgrading and maintenance.
Review 71:The hotel is in a great location. Just before Ensenada. The service staff was amazing. Luis the bartender was great. Very attentive and remembered our names. The food was very good and of value. The view... wow!
Review 72:Wifi didn't work all the time. Jacuzzi was not warm enough.
Review 73:Great oceanview. Peaceful and quiet place. Staff were nice and helpful. Restaurant was excellent.
Review 74:Breakfast wasn't great each time I ate there. Nor dinner. However the Sunday buffet is good.
Review 75:I like the atmosphere. The pool, jacuzzi, and bar area.
Review 76:nothing everything was great
Review 77:i forgot the name of the bartender it was on shift on Saturday nigh, but the guys has a really good costumer service and his attitude was always wit a smile
Review 78:A couple of the guests were playing load music by the pool. It would have been nice if the hotel staff had asked them to turn it off.
Review 79:Everything was perfect - room was clean, very comfy bed, stunning views, friendly helpful staff, great food.
Review 80:Only thing i didnt like was the doors are not solid like a hotel room should be. The doors they use at the hotel are like bedroom doors hallow wood. my room could be easily broken in too with a hard kick. I put a room chair in front of door at night to feel secure.
Review 81:The rooms were nice and comfortable. no problems with the hot water like other hotels in mexico. all the staff was friendly and helpful
Review 82:Very poor service from waiters. I only saw one of them. Others were standing around. Maybe they weren't waiters but they weren't helping
Review 83:Spectacular view
Review 84:It could've had more English channels on TV... but with the view out of the balcony who needs TV.
Review 85:The views from the balcony were amazing and I loved hearing the ocean since its so close. Everything was very clean and my kids really enjoyed the pools and hot tub and the close walk to ocean.
Review 86:Ordered valentines dinner and they only brought half of what i ordered. The door to the bathroom is moldi g and rotten. The pool isnt heated. The lights above the inroom jacuzzi are not working. The taps on the jacuzzi are falling apart. The buffet is half as good as punta morros. No sausage or bacon and the juice cups are too small even for my three year old .
Review 87:The view
Review 88:We couldn't get the wifi to connect in our room and the tv didn't get a signal either. The room also didn't have an iron. I requested one downstairs but they informed me that they had already handed all the ones they had available to other guests.
Review 89:The room was very spacious. We had an amazing view of the ocean and the infinity pool looked awesome! We needed a taxi to get to the downtown area and the concierge was able to get us one of their drivers to take us for a nominal fee.
Review 90:I loved everything about Hotel Las Rosas. The staff was very friendly and the view was perfect. It was more than what we expected. We will definitely come again.
Review 91:There's no in-room coffee/tea - and no room service/restaurant until 7:30 a.m. For those on the go a definite void!
Review 92:Location is just far enough enough away from the bustling downtown area to give a sense of seclusion and relaxation after a busy day.
Review 93:My only issue was that spa bath took a very very long time to fill but the water pressure in the shower was great.
Review 94:After staying in multiple locations in Ensenada, we stayed at Las Rosas for one night and I wish we were there for more. It is a beautiful location and hotel. We had a spa suite, which was a large room on the corner of the hotel with a wraparound balcony. There was amazing views and it was great to sit out on the balcony and enjoy a couple of drinks. We had dinner and breakfast at the restaurant, both were delicious. The menu had a range of dishes so there was something for everyone at reasonable prices. The service was fantastic as well.
Review 95:I think like stated before, a better sign before the entrance of the hotel but thats about it.
Review 96:The View, the hot tub, the service, free wifi, you can have breakfast with the ocean view, such a romantic place for a very good price!
Review 97:Hmmm....too bad the million dollar view experience from the balcony can't be enhanced with a little upgrade from the cheap, white plastic chairs there. Chipped crockery and coffee carafes that don't work are such easy fixes, but leave an impression that the hotel is past it's prime. Drains are slow (annoying), but can be overlooked....at least they drain right? It's all part of the charm I suppose. There is a lot of road noise, but the sound of crashing waves overpower that sound most of the time.
Review 98:This hotel is very easy to get to from San Diego, and is convenient for small jaunts to Ensenada as well as the wine route of the Guadalupe Valley. You cannot beat the ambience of this hotel. We felt totally safe there too. The view, the view, the view! Get ready for the sound of some very loud crashing waves. Love it!
Review 99:The smell of parfume in the room. That anybody could climb over the balcony into the room.
Review 100:The location of the hotel so near to the ocean. It was luxury !
Review 101:We were disappointed with the dilapidated room, filthy carpet, constant highway noise.
Review 102:We liked the restaurant and it's quality. Great food service and attentiveness. Fabulous view of ocean, rocks and sunsets.
Review 103:WiFi service only in lobby that is very busy and noisy. Really bad for Skype. Pool is freezing, not heated. Food was disapointing. We live close by, the food in Ensenada is excellent ~ there is no excuse for a bad food in Mexico! No in-room coffee maker w comp. coffee, this should be standard & the coffee was outrageously expensive double the price of Starbucks.
Review 104:Loved the room, corner suite (214) with jacuzzi with gorgeous view. (blind didn't close at night!) Outdoor jacuzzi was wonderful in a setting where you can watch the crashing waves. Very nice boutique hotel for a romantic stay.
Review 105:Like most properties in Mexico, the facilities had some problems. There was a hole in the wall in the bathroom, and the bathroom door was too short for the frame so there was a big one foot gap between the door and the frame at both top and bottom of the door which made privacy difficult. No bathroom door.
Review 106:Las Rosas is a bit better than a typical medium size Mexican hotel. The location right on the sea shore was excellent, and the restaurant was good quality for the price and service was good..It provided good value for the money and cost us about $134/night including taxes during the Christmas/New Years interim. Good service, The TV had cable so you could get San Diego stations in english in addition to the local spanish stations. The overall decor of the hotel was nice.
Review 107:Wifi is centered on lobby. We could get weak reception in our rooms. Gym is very plain.
Review 108:Excellent Tennis Court, but only one. Food is reasonably priced and very good. So nice to have coffee and breakfast out on the veranda watching the ocean crash on the rocks close by.
Review 109:Ocean view, clean room
Review 110:I got a great price online as it is off season. Oceanfront room, friendly staff, felt safe and great bed. Orange juice served by the ocean!
Review 111:Needs to upgrade the maintenance sept in general no patch fixes
Review 112:Views , staff , food is going downhill ( Sunday brunch ) Maintenance issues. In the room Little details , faucet unfinished , Ac unfinished and trash between the new Ac and the balcony glass door
Review 113:Somewhat poor room service. We requested a bucket of ice and two glasses. We got the glasses and ice but no bucket so had to chill wine on the sink. Overall the hotel needs to be remodeled, everything is a bit dated. For this reason the value for the $ is a bit poor. Door did not lock properly. We had to slam it for it to shut.
Review 114:Location is ececellent. All rooms face the ocean. Very clean. The couples massage was excellent and reasonably priced.
Review 115:nothing
Review 116:Great place Fantastic spa Great pools Really beautiful ocean view from pools, spa, and rooms with balcony. Fantastic breakfast, great staff
Review 117:The surrounding area - it's right next to the highway - is not very appealing. It's right next to the highway, and there is nothing within walking distance. On the other hand, that's the way the region is: nice hotels, restaurants, some small communities but the surrounding area is bare. Moreover, when in the hotel, you don't notice and are immersed in the beautiful view.
Review 118:The view The infinity pool
Review 119:The pool was too cold to swim, and the hot tub was only warm (and not working at all one day). The carpet in the room was frayed, and the bathroom smelled bad (almost like sewage) although it looked clean. The room door lock didn't work right and the sliding glass door lock was broken.
Review 120:The view is stunning, and the grounds are nice. The design of the pool and hot tub take great advantage of the location right on the cliffs above the ocean. The beds were comfortable and there was a small table and two chairs to have a meal. The balcony was large and the view spectacular. The sauna worked fine.
Review 121:The only minor disturbance was that Room 103 was too near the piano which was played late on Saturday night. The music was however pleasant while we were kept awake.
Review 122:The service was excellent and genuine at the front desk and restaurant. The food was outstanding and fairly priced.
Review 123:Hotel staff and service were excellent. Everyone was very cordial, helpful, and courteous. I thought the room was great. Small bathrooms-who cares. There's a vanity right next to it. Food in restaurant very good.We tried a lot of it. Ocean view from room was simply unforgettable and for the money we paid Las Rosas is an incredible bargain. BTW- it is an infinity pool. Hot tub was great. A FYI.. I am a workaholic and at one point during our stay while involved in a conversation with other vacationers I looked at my wife and asked her to remind me where I worked because I could not remember where I spend most of my waking hours!. Enough said. Great Hotel, Fun city. We'll be back.
Review 124:The pool is not heated. The spa and pools need resurfacing. No air conditioning or fans.
Review 125:The staff was extremely nice and the food was great. Mario rocks! The view and ocean are perfect. No ice machines on the premises or refrigs/ microwaves in room.
Review 126:The price was a little too high for the room quality. If you bring your own coffee pot don't forget the cups because the hotel does not offer them. No clock, so bring one if you are on a time schedule.
Review 127:Loved the pool oasis. Facilities were quaint and enjoyed to Jacuzzi. The spa was very well priced and it was the best massage I ever had. Beds were comfortable too. All rooms have a beach front view
Review 128:Small pavement ants in the bathroom. Cracked sink
Review 129:All rooms are overlooking the sea. Below the hotel is an infinity pool a huge jacuzzi and then the rocky coastline. The spaces of the entrance hall bar and restaurant are wide and have the same spectacular view
Review 130:the noise from the road & exhausr from bathroom way to loud had to change to other room noise keep me up all night. that was room 208
Review 131:The view & pool
Review 132:I didn't like that they gave my room I booked weeks in advance away and gave me a room with no door in the restroom and ants crawling in the sink.
Review 133:I loved the fact that this hotel makes you feel like your in a nice getaway! Gorgeous views!!
Review 134:The room was ground level with no windows, no air conditioning in any room unable to leave window open due to accessibility of property to main road. No Internet access in rooms only lounge area.
Review 135:The views were stunning. Thats it.
Review 136:Mosqueitos coming in through windows with no screens biteing me allover. Food was ok not the best for the price. Was kind of stuffy in roomthere is no ac.do not take small children windows and balconys are sodangerous.
Review 137:Clean great ocean views
Review 138:The food was not good. We were there during the middle of the week and it seemed as if we were eating old food. The white rice was dry and the enchilada was luke warm and old tasting. On another evening we had dinner and the food was mediocre. I love the hotel and hope that it does well so for that reason I recommend improvement in the meals of the restaurant.
Review 139:The atmosphere!
Review 140:The room was dirty and the AC did not work. The room needs some upgrades and renovation.
Review 141:The view was stunning and location was very good. Nice facilities and pretty good staff.
Review 142:While the back view and balcony overlooks the ocean, the front side on the highway is dull and noisy. It takes 10min to Ensenada 5USD.
Review 143:The hotel has very good swimming and jacuzzi facilties overlooking the ocean. Good food at all moments. Good price quality ratio.
