Located 5 miles from Elvas, Monte da Torre is an isolated property surrounded by the plains of Alenteja which offers self-catering apartments and suites with access to a common swimming pool. Free WiFi is available.

Review 1：The apartments on the face of it appear to be OK for self catering but they lack some of the basics and should be viewed as OK for reheating preprepared food only. If you intend to eat out most of the time this wont be an issue.
Review 2：The owner very hospitable and helpful, and keen to ensure the stay was good. The beds were more comfortable than our own at home and probably the most comfortable in 30+ years of travelling!
Review 3：Such a wonderful place to stay deep in the tranquil heart of Alentejo... and our friendly hosts João & Louisa made us feel so very welcome right from the start. The farmhouse has been renovated with a lot charm & original features. It's ideal for visiting interesting places in both Spain & Portugal. And there is a great restaurant (personally recommended by João) close by. We will return!
Review 4：This is a wonderful house in a splendid location. The owners were verywelcoming and went out of their way to make us feel at home. We stayedin one of the apartments and it was comfortable and spacious for afamily of four, with beds on a mezzanine level and a living room andkitchen on the ground level. Breakfast was in the main house and wasvery good, with freshly squeezed orange juice served each morning. Thehomemade orange cake was delicious. We followed our hosts’ advice ongood local restaurants and were not disappointed. Nearby in the nextvillage was the excellent Pompilio serving a large range of local dishesat a reasonable price. In Elvas we were recommended Ti Catrina which wasalso very good indeed. Our hosts were very knowledgeable about localsights too, and Monte da Torre is in a great position to make the mostof the area. Elvas is a fascinating small town, and Marvao to the northwas a scenic drive and a beautiful hilltop village and castle with viewsover the Spanish border. We were able to drive to Evora (like Elvas aunesco World Heritage site) which is just 85km away) Caceres in Spain isabout the same distance away, and there is a great deal more to seenearer to hand. We wished we had much more time – we did not even usethe swimming pool or the bikes on offer to the guests.We would not hesitate to return if visiting the area again.
Review 5：The hosts were very interesting and welcoming. The breakfast was great, and the common spaces very pleasant. The mini-apartment was cosy and comfortable, and the kitchen appliances were very handy.

Review 7：Monte da Torre was a complete surprise for us. The hospitality was warm, charming and very friendly. No trouble was too much and on every detail was taken care off. The room was very complete. We were really at a hacienda! The owner was proud of his beautiful property. An old Portuguese farmhouse with his own Tower. With a lot of style and respect for ' the old ' restored and with respect for the Portuguese atmosphere. The town of Elvas (on the heritage list) you should have seen!! An old fortress city with an impressive aqueduct. Walking through the streets you fall from the one in the other surprise. We will be back! To enjoy this place more!!
