Very quiet, miles from anywhere really (only 15 minutes drive from the airport, but there's nothing between the two, and you'll need a car) but super modern with contemporary decoration and very friendly, welcoming staff. Gym has a running machine and the most modern weights machine I've ever used - must have cost them a fortune! Breakfast was WAY beyond my expectations - superb choice, very well presented. Small park opposite hotel and pleasant grounds. Santo de Serra is a church and a few (very) basic cafes, but the 10E chicken and garlic bread Sunday dinner while sitting on plastic chairs is probably the most enjoyable we had! We stayed for 2 days, had a week in Funchal and then booked again for another 2 days at the end of the holiday. GREAT find. Recommended.
