Reviews for Inns at Equinox

Review 1:The prices are very high for an average person to stay, but we were ableto share a room which helped a little.

Review 2:We were upgraded without no extra charge to a suite at the inns. Eathanwas very pleasant and kind to do this and it made our stay so muchbetter for the expense and I would return again because of that.

Review 3:We paid 400.00 for a too small "townhouse queen" located behind the main hotel. Walls are thin heard doors shutting, people walking above.

Review 4:The property is centrally located to shopping, dining and day trips around Vermont. Staff and facilities were just fine.

Review 5:*the cleanliness was not good. *the substitution of coffe was not goood. *they charge concepts unexpected. Not declared at the reservation time.

Review 6:Overall facilities are good.

Review 7:The inns location is so confusing and not part of SPG.. Main issue is that, while I have booked for 3 nights, I had to return back a night earlier for some urgent reason, they charged a penalty for the night while the room booked was NOT Non refundable. While I had mentioned about possibility of early departure , they said no issues but when I did it they said they will charge me for the night as penalty. I fought and they made a 50% reduction. But the point is that there was no mentioning of early departure charge anywhere mentioned either by hotel or by bookings.com. I had seen only a penalty of first night if I don't check in but NOT a penalty for early departure. Very upset with this and not acceptable as this was not mentioned

Review 8:Unfortunately they allow pets and a dog was left alone in a room nearus and it howled for over an hour. The staff did their best to remedythe situation, but I would make sure we are not near any pet peoplenext time.

Review 9:A very lovely, peaceful setting with great food and service.

Review 10:bed was very very uncomfortable. No on site amenities [such as ice] or staff. felt a bit out of touch with the rest of the resort.

Review 11:1811 House a true historical landmark. Our room, central areas, and grounds were beautiful. Fitness center and pool are great assets.

Review 12:modified reservation from 3 nights to 2 and despite several phone calls and direct conversation with billing manager on site, they still have not credited my account. Had to dispute charge on amex which is a bit annoying.

Review 13:close to ski area and town. Staff helpful

Review 14:The amenities were wonderful, enjoyed the indoor heated pool and relaxing in the spa area by the fireplace. Also liked that the property is walking distance to Equinox Mountain where we enjoyed a trail hike Sunday morning, great views.

Review 15:The hotel is accommodating, even when they dont have to be. The food is suprisingly good. Spa services are good, if a bit pricey. The staff is consistantly good. I had to arrive with a young son quite late at night. They offerred to pre checked me in so that when I arrived, it was a 1 minute stop to the desk, hand off of my keys and was in the room within 2 minutes.

Review 16:Our room was smaller than a typical double occupancy room. It was very noisy. We could easily hear the guests across the hall, noises from the restaurant and bar below, and loud creaking in the ceiling when guests above were walking in their room. It seemed that the room was never adequately sound-proofed. I assume the age of the hotel affects such things. There were also MANY families with young babies and toddlers. This was a little surprising to us. As my friend and I were looking forward to some time away from our children on a "girls weekend", this was somewhat disappointing. One evening when we were hoping to hear live music in the Falcon Bar, we couldn't find a place to sit and were shocked to see a group of young children sitting front and center!

Review 17:Beautiful setting, ( we were visiting in Fall and the trees were gorgeous!) pretty, historic hotel with easy access to great outlet shopping. The outdoor deck with fire pit is wonderful for enjoying drinks with a gorgeous view of Mt. Equinox. Spa is nice but very busy on the weekend we were there. Restaurants are cozy and food is mostly delicious, with the exception of a duck dish that was gamey and unappetizing.

Review 18:The resort fee that apparently included the "free wifi", valet, the town shuttle, golf etc. If it was made clear about the resort tax, I would've maxed the stuff we were paying for, for example I don't play golf, but would've given it a go if it was included! At the desk we asked for a twin, and were told yes we could and meant we were switching from a town house, to the main building. The bit I didn't like was the "you are now in the main building, which is far nicer than the town houses. The town houses are a much lower quality than here". I was surprised at the honesty of the difference, but frustrated this was only pointed out once we had asked for a twin. Suggest anyone staying here requests the main house.

Review 19:The room in the main building, the swimming pool, the bar, the staff (Gordana on reception, the guy in the bar, and Elaine in the spa area), the cheese plate, the malbec wine, the bed, the jacuzzi, the fact we didn't switch the TV on once.

Review 20:BUT we purposely reserved a room in a colonial building as we are antique collectors. You did not know that the house is not available on the dates we wanted, so we had to stay in a sterile townhouse, not one with any character. Can you make it up to us??? We wonder if we should use you again. the Concierge was very rude and snippy to us when we asked for directions.

Review 21:a good price

Review 22:For the money, our room was ridiculously small and poorly laid out. Only one person could move about the room at a time. Light switches for the bathroom located outside of the bathroom so one had to flood the tiny room with light at night if used. Wifi barely worked.

Review 23:The setting is beautiful, the staff gracious, warm and helpful. the outdoor fire pit bar and the hiking trails are dreamy.

Review 24:I can't think of a single thing I didn't like. We have no complaints.

Review 25:Nick at front desk and the service staff were all professional thoughtful and helpful. We did not realize the resort was pet friendly, this makes it much easier for us to get away and we will be back in December. You should see some new customers from eastern NY after we finish telling our friends what a great place the Equinox is.

Review 26:It was difficult to afford this luxury, though I would say it wasn'toverpriced for the quality of the experience.

Review 27:Quiet, very comfortable, somewhat elegant, everything you might need inthe Equinox complex. We loved the pool, and sitting in the outdoor hottub admiring the view of Mt Equinox, great food, fireplaces, even amodest library. And splendid location in the midst of the GreenMountains, great for hiking and sightseeing.Thoroughly enjoyable.

Review 28:We stayed in the 1811 house. It was old and abandoned feeling. I appreciate old architecture but this haunted housish. Have been waiting to stay at Equinox for a very long time now and feel very disappointed in the house/room for the amount of money we paid

Review 29:The main building at the equinox was clean and beautiful, staff was great

Review 30:1811 house where we were originally booked in to was awful. It is advertised as a antique filled cosy part of the hotel complex. It is creepy and feels like a museum. The room we had was tiny. However staff did move us without question.

Review 31:Location of our room. Outside sitting area. Lovely view of mountain. Good food. Good facilities.

Review 32:The main facility is "Pet" friendly - we were very disappointed with the dog odors in the elevator and other parts of the Inn. For the start of our stay we were in the 1811 House, the lower level was dark, somewhat dirty and on-kept and our room was average at best, with a very cramped bathroom.

Review 33:The main Inn was very pretty and the Chop House restaurant was a pleasant surprise. Unfortunately, we felt the Inn was overpriced.

Review 34:The buffet for the cost was not as good as it should have been.

Review 35:Staff very friendly, beautiful area, close to everything.

Review 36:Room was of low quality and dirty.

Review 37:Location and trails are nice

Review 38:Nothing

Review 39:Beautiful hotel well located. Friendly attentive staff and pleasant decor. Good gym and large pool.

Review 40:A bit ostentateous

Review 41:The location

Review 42:Air did not work, linen and towels were not changed until we called.

Review 43:The pool

Review 44:Good taste and exquisite decor. Staff attention to detail and extremely kind and affable.

Review 45:Serenity in a beautiful southern Vermont setting. We thoroughly enjoyed the stay in the inn's 1811 House.

Review 46:Loved everything about this establishment from the room, location, accommodations, and staff.

Review 47:The feel of the resort and the great staff.

Review 48:Room quality is just over best western but suppose luxury resort! Great location but don't expect nice rooms!!

Review 49:The changes in The Tavern (pub area) Menu and the seating. Need comfortable chairs in the pub area.

Review 50:A bit pricey

Review 51:Great location and facilities. The indoors pool and spa are awesome.

Review 52:Outdated bathroom. Lights above sink were not working.

Review 53:Good Service. Dinner and breakfast were very good.
