Reviews for Duna Parque Beach Club

Review 1:- check-in downtown in hotel HS Milfontes, -> appr. 1,6 km return in additional walking - TV max. volume in breakfast room

Review 2:- fully equipped appartment - kind staff

Review 3:No lift

Review 4:Excellent value lots of room for a couple in the apartment. A 5-10 minute walk to the old town. Has good facilities but was quiet when we were there in November so not everything was open.

Review 5:Not as clean as you would want. Reception is closed at the beach club so you have to go into town and back. You need swim caps for the pool. Ive never experienced this before. We booked this place because of the pool and could not use it. You cannot bring towels from your room for the pool, but they conveniently rent them.

Review 6:Staff were nice. Close enough to town that it would be quiet in high season. About a 5 minute walk. Well fitted appt.

Review 7:Our apartment was spacious and comfortable. It is in walking distance to the beach, through the dunes. The children really enjoyed the indoor pool, as it was late October, the outdoor pool was a little too cold! The staff here are very friendly and helpful.

Review 8:While it is the first hotel you hit when coming south on the Rota Vincentina, it is a little out of town.

Review 9:Excellent room and facilities: clean, modern and comfortable.

Review 10:Thw Internet was not very good in the apartment as it would keep going off and there was no oven or kettle

Review 11:The location was perfect and the interior design of apartment was well thought out with parking just outside of our door

Review 12:Sometimes the pool would get to crowded, but nothing that would bother us much.

Review 13:The hotel staff were the nicest one can get. Very helpful with everything, and payed attention to details of people travelling with small kids and a pet. Good place for someone travelling with toddlers and babies.

Review 16:You need a cap to use the indoor swimming pool. And there was no food service at this hotel which meant you had to drive or take 15min walk to their other branch where food was served

Review 17:Nice cozy apartments, easy parking, lovely swimming pool to spend an afternoon relaxing.

Review 18:The bed was bad - just like a camp bed! The resort is designed for families rather than mature travellers. Reception were not able to give us a map of the town . Their advertisements onpine are misleading as they show balcony views over the sea. As far as we could see, these would not be possible here and must have been the balconies of their associated hotel overlooking the estuary.

Review 19:Loved the resort of Vila Nova. The hotel was on the outskirts but within good walking distance of the centre.

Review 20:Heaters in living space and bedroom were not too effective. Cable TV had only one English Channel- which was news.

Review 21:The reception staff (including Tania) were absolutely delightful and very helpful. The apt itself was a one bedroom on the ground floor. It was quite spacious for the two of us and had a patio/sitting area out back looking out on the garden. The WiFi signal was good. Never-ending hot water and great water pressure in the shower. The kitchen was nicely stocked - even w sponge and dish soap! All 3 floors of the apt can use the rooftop terrace, which allows you to see the sunset - or just walk to the cliffs/beach trail. We really enjoyed the location and the apt!

Review 22:Unfortunately the night staff kept asking for extra money for small things like towels or shower caps, for example. And 15% for a late check out until 2pm? Get real people... Need extra money, simply raise up you rate a little bit and you won't have to give your guests a hard time for these small amenities

Review 23:Great accommodation and apartments and great location. The receptionist with the morning shift is a great professional and knows how to treat the guests.

Review 24:In the jacuzzi, told by a female member of staff we couldn't stay in unless we bought a swimming cap for 4 euros 50. Not rude, but not friendly. In the evening we discovered the DVD controls were rusted solid. Went to the bar and the same member of staff immediately told us (not rude but not friendly) that nothing could be done until morning. I asked the barman if maybe we could swap the DVD player with one from another apartment (low season so guessed wouldn't be fully booked). So in fact no problem, sorted within minutes. No sea view from our apartment.

Review 25:Clean, well-equipped, friendly welcome, nice place to visit because of the sea, river and sunsets.

Review 26:Friendly staff and very comfortable apartment, a great place to unwind from travelling. Nice and quiet at this time of year. Sunny walk along the wild windswept beach.

Review 27:We booked for 3, 2 adults & a 7 year old, but the third bed wasn't made up. We arrived very late, so there was no one available and we had to make it for ourselves. We were there for the last week of October, and maybe because it was the end of the season, it was not very clean. The jacuzzi especially was very dirty.

Review 28:The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Review 29:Beds! Too hard and very creaky! Fixtures and furnishings within the villa seem to be getting a bit old and tired, but cleanliness was fantastic. Outdoor pool was VERY cold, Only 6 loungers by the pool hence quickly used up. Restaurant was closed apart from Friday and Saturday night. No food facilitates durning the day (ice creams, snacks etc) which was hard when children are 6 & 4 to trek into town to get a ice cream when they wanted to stay by the pool!

Review 30:Indoor pool, kitchen facilities, location of apartment to the pools, sun loungers very comfortable, but not very many of them, outdoor draughts, easy parking. Staff lovely, cooker broke and someone came to fix it within 20 mins. Exceptionally clean villa even though fixtures and fittings are getting a bit old and worn out.

Review 31:Breakfast is very poor, located at the other hotel, 1 km from this hotel. Nobody infoormed the other hotel that we would have meal there, so we came when they were already finishing, while it was only 9 A.M. We booked 3 rooms, one of them was not even cleaned. Check put slow.

Review 32:VERY sloooooow internet and somewhat slow front of desk young woman too, or maybe it was just her computer that was slow. Either way allow plenty of time to check out if you're wanting to catch a bus (we did).

Review 33:Upgraded from double to first a suite then a villa, which was great value, but would not want to pay full price. Most staff were great. We went out of season; not sure I'd enjoy it much in season.

Review 34:The pillows were not the most comfortable but did not detract from the enjoyment of our stay.

Review 35:The apartment was very nice with a pleasant view from the balcony. It was good to have a 'proper' cooker and a microwave. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The site was quiet and we enjoyed our stay.

Review 36:General tidiness of the surroundings of the hotel (during the 3 days of our stay, the garbage in front of the hotel was never collected). The hotel itself could make more effort to have the garden and the common areas more clean and neat.

Review 37:We are a family of 5 and made our booking without knowing much about the hotel. When we got there, our accommodation was really not suitable for our family, but the lady in the reception (Luciana) was absolutely fantastic and upgrade us to the accommodation "Setimo Ceu", a great small house with a private swimming pool. Super customer service! Well done Luciana.

Review 38:An A/C would be nice, though not absolutely necessary. Half meal could include simple drinks like water. Dinner is good, service is good and the restaurant by the pool is very nice. They suggest go to HS Milfontes Beach to dinner, were we can eat "a la carte", but honestly we felt that the food and service were better at Duna Parque.

Review 39:The location, the breakfast (simple but with good products), the apartment (very functional, simple, clean, pretty, great sunset view), the pool zone and restaurant.

Review 40:No aircondition in the rooms. Minigolf very worn down. There was a musician playing very loudly by the pool until midnight.

Review 41:5-8 minutes walk to town. Nice big and comfortable apartment

Review 42:Great place for families! Two bedroom apartment and a kitchen was excellent choice for us. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

Review 43:Location on the beach is great. Easy walk to dunes and sunset. Units are older, but clean and comfortable. Dinner at Tasco do Celso was excellent.

Review 44:Beautiful apartment, very well equipt. Very clean and a great location.

Review 45:Amazing sea view, peace and quiet, two swimming pools, very nice and spacious apartament

Review 46:I'm tall, bed too short

Review 47:Nice place

Review 48:Location, cleanliness , staff.

Review 49:The shower needs some repairs.

Review 50:Nice view from the upper floor, well equiped courtyard, lots of parking places.

Review 51:The reception guy sings in estonian very nice surprise!

Review 52:Very nice large sunny appartment

Review 53:Nothing!

Review 54:It is near to the dunes/ beaches. A nice little pool and the apartment was fully equipped.

Review 55:Nothing bad ;-)

Review 56:The apartment is very comfortable and big.

Review 57:- excellent service - spacious rooms with a theme, we slept in the room of the Rose ;)

Review 58:No bike rental service.

Review 59:Location, pool area, front desk staff, comfortable apartment.

Review 60:That I can't get back again for a long time!

Review 61:Location Decoration Mellow vibe Staff Low key development Beach walks

Review 62:Big Villa with 2 floors and roof terrace, full equiped kitchen in a nice village

Review 63:Everything was great. Enjoyed the pool and spa and closeness to the beach.Apartment was excellent

Review 64:quite noisy at night without other guests.

Review 65:pool, kitchen well equipped and plenty of free parking.

Review 66:QUIET,CLEAN

Review 67:Spotless rooms, friendly service, cosy atmoshphere.

Review 68:Still a bit expensive though

Review 69:Just what you need to really truly relax

Review 70:The indoor pool left a little to be desired. But considering the cost and all of the other great features, who cares!

Review 71:Fantastic location. Beautiful and clean completely self contained suite. Full kitchen and roof deck with a view of the ocean. It was very good value for the money.

Review 72:the breakfast is expensive for a continental breakfast. The couch in the living room could be more confortable.

Review 73:Apartments are nice simple clean and with everything you need! Good kitchen, big bathroom, bedrooms and balcony. Location is near the beach. Staff very frendly.

Review 74:Not much option for small children to swim outdoors, as outdoor pool was very deep with no shallow end. Also in order to use indoor pool and sauna, special dressing was required (swim cap and robe) that were not mentioned until we arrived at hotel.

Review 75:The proximity to town and the beach was nice. the pool and leisure activities were great for a family with children, there was something for everyone.

Review 76:The bath room despite being big and fully equipped looked a bit oldish but it is clean and fonctional.

Review 77:Very confortable apartment on the ground floor with direct access to the pool. Very good location just behind the dunes. Quite and clean.

Review 78:As warned in many past reviews, the beds were very uncomfortable. The pillows were far too soft and saggy, the mattresses were hard and uncomfortable. A minor annoyance, but the kitchen had no dishcloth, dishwasher tablets or salt/pepper. There was washing up liquid and coffee filter bags, but it wasn't obvious whether they were there deliberately or had been left by the last guest. Buying stocks of these type of kitchen supplies (as opposed to food) is an irritation when staying in an apartment for only a few days. But this wouldn't put us off returning, we will just bring our own!

Review 79:Well appointed, clean, modern apartment. Well equipped (but missing some kitchen supplies) with view of dunes and setting sun. Toiletries and hairdryer supplied in bathroom. Plenty of linens and changed regularly by discrete cleaner.

Review 80:Bed in our appartment was oncomfortable, very hard. There was no seaview, onless they say so.

Review 81:Very beautyfull park and appartment. Nice balcony. Very clean. Nice swimmingpool. Lokation in the dunes. Frendly cook.

Review 82:Booked a romantic half board package and had 2 single beds, they apparently had no doubles left even though we booked 6 months ago and it did not specify at time of booking that it would be a twin room. Only option for evening meals included meat so not great for vegetarians.

Review 83:Good location if you want to be close to secluded beaches and some amazing sunsets. Comfortable poolside loungers. Spacious apartment with balcony overlooking pool.

Review 84:The hotel was very expensive for the quality of the service. Staff extremely friendly but the quality of the apartments was very poor for the money paid. The pictures on the website do not correspond to the quality of the rooms.

Review 85:Staff was friendly.

Review 86:pictures deceiving as to size of pool, expected much bigger pool area....room clean but beds small and furniture very low to floor, not good for any one tall

Review 87:good price, easy walk to beach, room clean, loved the bean bag chairs poolside

Review 88:the bean bag sun beds (uncomfortable, difficult getting in and out of)

Review 89:Size of the rooms (small apartments really), staff all delightful, location good

Review 90:Live entertainment on Saturday afternoon.

Review 91:Friendly staff. Nice food. Beautiful location, close to beach and also convenient for town centre. Pleasant, clean apartment with lovely views.

Review 92:Nothing at all. I thought it was just wonderful. I heard it gets pretty busy at peak times, so if you like a tranquil holiday try to go out of season.

Review 93:The peace and quiet and beautiful sunsets over the sea. And the apartment was really well equipped. The staff were really friendly and helpful, lots of smiles all day long.

Review 94:Beds were too firm and lights in bedroom were not the brightest, so could be a little dark at night.

Review 95:Quiet location and near the beach. Had outdoor and heated indoor swimming pool. Apartments were a good size for a studio. Good facilities which included oven, fridge, freezer and microwave. There was plenty of parking and Duna Parque is easy to find by car.

Review 96:We booked or a romantic evenning.... We had plastic re-usable red rosepetals on the table, the food was not good, blue lights above us, the breakfast--forget it, rolls, plastic cheese and ham, that's it, crap coffee, 1English breakfast tea bag, no more, we felt as if we were not wantedthere. Do not ask about taking your dogs... 10 euros each per dog. Wewill not stay here again & we live in Portugal

Review 97:Lovely pool and comfy foam filled pool seats, but for the noise from thegrinder or other machinery

Review 98:It was a lovely resort with amazing sea front and beaches. Unfortunately when we came the weather wasn't too good but the hotel was well heated & warm

Review 99:On this website it says that the pool inside the hotel is not availablenow. It is not true. The pool looked nice, full of water. We would havetaken swimming suits with us if we'd known that.

Review 100:We liked the hotel from the first moment. The houses of Duna Parqueare surrounded by beautiful garden. It looked like very welcoming. Check-in was friendly. Our apartments (one-bedroom and two-bedroom apts)were clean and lovely warmed in February. No signs of humidity ormould at all. The beds were like new, very comfortable. The apartmentsare decorated thoughtfully, even though some items are basic stylefrom Ikea.- Overall, very good price-quality ratio.

Review 101:The appartments look modern on the photos but they aren't so and there is a moldy atmosphere in the rooms. Refurbishment needed.

Review 102:Excellent beef in the restaurant, the appartment was pre-heated when we arrived

Review 103:Didn't realize that our fee included breakfast/dinner. We stopped before arriving to purchase food that we intended to cook in our apartment. We were not informed about the included food at check-in either. Rather, we received a call from the front desk while we were eating dinner in our apartment saying that they were waiting for us to come eat in the restaurant. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay.

Review 104:I really liked the apartment. It was clean, and well provisioned.

Review 105:Flat becomes old Carpet in the bedroom was horribly stinking (mainly because of humidity) !

Review 106:Near very beautiful beach Quiet place Flat are very well equipped

Review 107:Noise from apartment next door. Silly little cups in the kitchen! We went out and bought mugs.

Review 108:Easy to find, good parking and quiet location. Friendly staff Spacious accommodation (2 bedroom apartment)

Review 109:Vegetarian food wasn't described properly but at least thay tried!

Review 110:Position and large apartment with garden on to the dunes Very good value for money

Review 111:Duna Park is nothing when compared to similar price Hotels. The relationprice accomodation is absolutly ridiculus, at almost 200€ per night Iwas expecting a very clean, sofisticated, and modern appartment, howeverI got an old fashion one that reminded my parents house in the 80s (/myparents was much better). The tv was smaller than my 13inches laptop, there was no whashing machine, and the accomodations to be able to havequite nice dinner were terrible. The pool, is small, there is elevatorto the apartments.... Just terrible if we compare the price with whatyou get. No more Duna Park for me or any my friends and relatives,.

Review 112:I didn't like the Duna Parque

Review 113:The pillows were a little lumpy. It was a little far to walk to town, but we did it every day and felt comfortable walking back at night.

Review 114:We were very happy with our choice of hotels. The staff was very friendly. You can walk over the dunes to the beach. It is a very nice town.

Review 115:Stayed in the Casa Azul (Blue House) in july, very spacious, confortable and modern, helpfull staff. would definitely consider again for vacations with group of friends

Review 116:Only concern was that the pool might not suit younger children as they would be out of their depth almost immediately.

Review 117:We had a very comfortable spacious 2 bedroom apartment which was well kitted out and clean. The apartment complex was small and quiet and well maintained - only sound at night as the sound of the Atlantic in the distance. The children loved the pool - though younger children might not be as comfortable as it didn't really have a shallow end. Pool area was cleaned every morning. There were loungers and umbrellas around the pool but the trees in the sourrounding grassy area also provided shade and space. Staff very friendly. The town of Villa Nova de Millefontes itself was lovely - set at the mouth of the estuary. Loads of restaurants and very pleasant to wander around. Would recommend it.

Review 118:The complex was just really good value for money ....nothing bad to say at all.

Review 119:The apartment was bright , colourful, well designed and comfortable which were serviced everyday. We had a wonderful view of the sea and also overlooked the swimming pool . The staff was so very friendly and provided internet facilitaies and washing . the sports facilities were ideal for teenagers. The restaurant and bar areas were also staffed by very friendly people with good food. The villa was very close to a delightful town with wonderful beaches. I recommend the safari jeep trip out but not the whole boat ride up the river... too long with no shade.

Review 120:The unit was not well maintained. Bathroom sink did not drain, and theshower had very low water pressure. Kitchen had bare bones cookingutensils. It would be nice to include basic spices. We had to ask to get wireless access. We had to pay extra for a lock for the in-room safe. The unit was noisy due to loud kids playing late at night. It would be nice if they supplied such things as beach chairs, drink coolers, beach mats, etc. I'm sure that a lot of travelers buy such things and leave them behind. They could build up a stock of such and have them available. Travelers arriving from overseas can't bring these type of things. On site bike rentals would be great.

Review 121:Location was great. Office staff were friendly and helpful. Layout ofthe apartment was nice.

Review 122:Friendly and excellent attentive service from all the staff Good well presented food in the restaurant Hotel was clean and generally well maintained

Review 123:The swimming pool is not very suitable for small children and in general the park looks a bit oldish.

Review 124:The appartments are clean, comfortable, and child friendly. Personal is service minded. Vila Novo the Milfontes is a pleasant village with a calm beach on the river / seaside.

Review 125:Good, 3 star hotel in the pretty village of Vila Nova de Milfontes. The rooms are large with good sized kitchens, which would be great for families. We would happily stay at this hotel again.

Review 126:TV set is smallish and in need of a satellite box.

Review 127:Everything was modern, in good working order and reasonably practical. Personnel was friendly and effective. Parking in front of the buildings was very handy.

Review 128:Spacious, fully equipped,(but no kettle) accommodation that represents excellent value for money in close proximity to the pretty town of Milfontes. Plenty for children to do, staff helpful and cheerful. Good parking, well stocked bar and free Wi-Fi.

Review 129:We stayed in a two-bedroom villa with our two children. The house iscosy and decorated with lots of charm and a personal touch. The kitchenis small and basic, but fine for such a beach apartment. Sheets andtowels are of a good quality. It is ideally situated next to pristineAtlantic beaches. The town is very pretty and one of the most authenticbeach towns we've seen in Europe. We had a lovely meal in the restaurantat Duna Parque. The facilities are staff are very child-friendly. Greatvalue for money.
