Reviews for Wilburton Inn

Review 1:The place shut down (literally) at 7pm. All staff went home and that was it. No bar facilities, nothing. To advertise as having a restaurant when it only actually opens on high days and holy days is sightly pushing the description of the place ! It needs a serious makeover, serious investment and staff who are travel and tourism trained.

Review 2:Quite honestly, not much to enthuse about given the exorbitant price. The bed was comfortable. The two gents in front desk were super helpful and friendly.

Review 3:Nothing really, but as it is a grand old building, some parts (such as windows) are getting old and will need renovation.

Review 4:Grand location with beautiful view across the Green Mountains. Once a week they serve a vegetarian meal. The best I ever had. Very helpful staff. Excellent beds. Fantastische locatie met schitterend uitzicht over de Green Mountains.

Review 5:The Wilburton Inn is a lovely spot to get away to. Manchester Vermont is a beautiful town with lots of things to do and see. We came up for Labor Day weekend. The property is beautiful with spectacular views! It is family run and all family members make a point of introducing themselves and making you feel welcome during your stay, especially daughter Melissa, who is so friendly and a great ambassador for the Inn. Full Vermont breakfast was included in the cost of our stay and was fabulous!! The chef Lisa makes each breakfast to order and delivers to table side herself. The Main House Mansion could use a little update but it is very charming and quaint. We stayed in one of the cottages on the property which was clean and spacious and the king bed was very comfortable. We look forward to returning next year during the foliage season.

Review 6:Some of the staff bordered on being intrusive in their eagerness to be hospitable. If breakfast starts at 830,it's annoying to wait until 845 for a cup of coffee.

Review 7:The room was gracious and spacious The food was very good

Review 8:Lovely, family run hotel, genuinely interested in making our stay comfortable.

Review 9:The view were awesome and grounds well maintained. The staff were very friendly.

Review 10:It has been well cared for, but not renovated. The rooms are huge with lovely antiques and the beds are comfy, but the baths haven't been renovated and the rooms have window units for air conditioning. The decor is a little tired. The house itself is not air conditioned. It's an old house and it feels like one, but it's comfortable and charming.

Review 11:The 19th century charm of this inn is incredible. It's a gorgeous old estate home with unbelievable gardens and view of the Vermont mountains. The owners are lovely people that give you the feeling you're spending the weekend in their country home. It's stately, but unpretentious.

Review 12:Our only complaint was that the bedspread and blanket on the bed werevery badly stained and smelled unclean. That's a bad turn-off,especially for someone who expects to sleep in a clean environment.

Review 13:Attentive and friendly staff who made us feel welcome, and a locationthat is among the best I've ever seen. The grounds were stunning andwonderfully maintained, and the art on the property is terrific.

Review 14:The on site museum of the creative process didn't add or subtract from our experience; It just was completely beside the point of our stay or why we would go back. To be fair, we were on our honeymoon and didn't really delve in to it. Manchester does seem to shut down really early off season (shops by 5, restaurants by 8ish)-something we city folk were surprised by.

Review 15:This was our first time in Vermont, and we made the right choice. This was one of our stops on our road-trip honeymoon, and the most comfortable. The feel of the Wilburton Inn is that you are staying at the peaceful estate of an art theory professor who is busy thinking somewhere, but has a caring staff to attend to the details of making a comfortable home. The inn itself is lovely, settled on a hill that feels private and remote, but affords beautiful views & the quiet that gives you space to think. But you're not that far from things to do: the inn is actually only a few minutes away from Manchester, which has a huge proportion of foodie-friendly restaurants, shops and near hiking trails & there is also Lincoln estate, Hildene, if you're in to history (which we are). The views from the room, and everywhere on the property are stunning, dotted with sculptures. If sculptures aren't your thing, that's fine, you've still got a great view of the Green Mountains. The room we had was perfect (#4): very clean, spacious, the bed was super comfortable, cozy. The room still feels private, something you Their food is DELICIOUS: All of the baked goods, the omelettes, the pancakes. We didn't hae dinner there, but we heard from locals that it is very, very good. The staff was all very friendly, suggesting local attractions and hiking trails, asking us how our day went. Here you aren't anonymous, but your privacy is respected. A nice mix.

Review 16:We were there to ski and the breakfast did not start until 8, we were onthe road by 7:30 so no breakfast. The advertising indicated much more ofa bar/restaurant than actually exists.

Review 17:The setting was really lovely. Although a bed and breakfast the staffwas not all over you like some places The room was so comfortable. Also, nice to have a refrigerator in the room

Review 18:Nice location, beautiful setting, classic old Inn.

Review 19:bed mattress was too soft. Waite staff too chatty.

Review 20:location to Hildene and downtown

Review 21:The staff wasn't overly hospitable.

Review 22:The food was excellent.
