Reviews for Vieng Tara Villa
Review 1:Nobody talks English, the bathroom is awful as you get your shower nearly on the toilets, the breakfast is not good at all. This hotel is very expensive for something not satisfactory at all. Not recommended.
Review 2:The situation ideally located in vang vieng, bungalows very beautiful.
Review 3:Everything! Don't understand previous reviews about hygiene and bugs, place was spotless and lovely. Cute staff with little English skills but who cares.
Review 4:Having to pay to cross a bridge on foot is a bit cheeky, but that's absolutely not the hotel's fault...
Review 5:Perfectly located in between rice paddies, within walking distance of the actual town. You have to be well aware that the natural setting also comes with "natural experiences" and noises (e.g. giant geckos crawling over your bungalow...)
Review 6:Difficult to find. Goggle map doesn't point correctly and almost nobody knew this place.
Review 7:Perfect room, view and breakfast. I can highly recommend this hotel.
Review 8:Personnel should be anble to speak some more english ! Wifi is very poor, even at the reception desk, the speed hardly gets to 1MB (like 20kb/sec). Transport into town could be provided on a regular basis. Vang Vieng is a place for the sportif youngsters, beside the outdoor activities, Vang Vieng has not much to offer.
Review 9:Iddilic place to spend a few nights as a couple, the bungalows are amazing, evering is foreseen, ok sure there a some bugs around (ants in the shower), but hey, this is the outer-life !!
Review 10:There was NO hot water, and I kept complaining but the staff couldn't resolve it even though they kept telling me it's fixed. There were also little cockroaches every now and then, and an animal would scuttle through the attic in the middle of the night. It was not good value for the more expensive rooms.
Review 11:The view was quite nice, of the rice paddies, and the staff was always trying to be very helpful. The breakfast was quite good.
Review 12:Breakfast is served at your bungalow. The first morning everything was perfect. The last day breakfast came 45 minuten late (de had to catch a bus) and they forgot half of what we had ordered. Shower in bungalow 1 does not work. No water pressure. The wifi in the lobby was to week. No wifi in the rooms.
Review 13:Location was perfect. Although the bungalows are on the wrong site of the ricefields. The view from the lobby is excellent. The bungalows weer fine. Bed and pillows Grey.
Review 14:A little bit far from town and we have to pay everytime we across the bridge to the hotel ( the way back to town is free) but it's only 20 thb so it was not a big deal. Wifi could only use in lobby area not cover in the room.
Review 15:Great location surrounding with green rice field even it wasn't completely green when i was there. But taking photos still look awesome and great!! Breakfast was so nice. Staffs were so friendly and always help everything i need.
Review 16:bad smell when flushing toilet everytime
Review 17:location! floating on the rice fields in front of the walls of mountains, amazing! cozy villa, friendly staffs, various breakfast choices
Review 18:Wifi only in reception Door didn't lock properly from inside Have to pay to cross the bridge everytime you want to do to town Staff with Poor English
Review 19:Loved the view and the cute bijou villas.
Review 20:It was a little hard to communicate the order at breakfast but they tried ever so hard to understand. The wifi could be extended to the bedrooms.
Review 21:Beautiful room in a gorgeous setting.
Review 22:I don't like for a tissue paper, i thought it should be softer than a one as you provided for customer and i' don't like for free wifi can use only lobby and restuarant.
Review 23:I' like the staff and location
Review 24:A little far from the town centre, bring a torch for the walk back after dinner!
Review 25:Great location with stunning views. If available reserve the bungalows it's definitely worth the extra cost.
Review 26:the hotel is not even a one star. rooms are so old, sticky, dirty with belongings to previous occupant so meaning they don't clean, change sheets. bugs everywhere, frogs, ants and lot more...wif doesn't work, food is not eatable, staff arrogant and manager is a cheater trying to make you pay cash even if they are allowed to take credit cards.
Review 27:nothing
Review 28:Staff didn't speak English, they booked us a VIP car to Vientiane which turned out to be a shared car which did not drop us off where promised.
Review 29:The rice fields in which the hotel is situated is very picturesque and quiet.
Review 30:The poor English of the restaurant staff.
Review 31:Location is best in Vang Vieng, by the mountains surrounded by rice paddies. Khong the night receptionist was awesome. The Japanese general manager was also good.
Review 32:Given it's location, expect lots of Mosquitos so bring your DEET. Beware, they don't have facilities to accept credit cards, so bring cash payments too. No hot water in shower by 9.45 was slightly inconvenient. Would stay here again tho.
Review 33:The setting is amazing - set in a paddy field surrounded by the river (no real view) and the stunning mountains. Bungalows definitely better located. Clean & comfortable. Helpful staff. Short walk from town centre - it's lovely staying away from the noise & hive.
Review 34:A bit far from city. 15-20mins walk, however if after 10:30, a bit scary with a few dogs barking on the way. Also bathroom was smelly.
Review 35:View and staffs are warm welcome, although during breakfast time if you want to check out then you can't find people at reception.
Review 36:Nothing
Review 37:The quiet: Vang Vieng is lively but noisy, and this place is a 5 min walk from it, yet super quiet and many years away in terms of serenity and connection to nature. Great restaurant at breakfast, lunch or diner. Kind and helpful people starting with Mr. Keisuke Kiyota, General Manager, always giving good advice and finding solutions when needed. The hotel is set in the middle of rice fields and will leave you breathless with beauty
Review 38:Only thing we could fault on was that the varnish smell in the new rooms was a littlr strong. And at morning breakfast rice porridge isnt real congee...but i dont remember if it said congee, maybe thats just what i was expecting.
Review 39:We booked the day of arrival so we understand that the secluded cabins were unavailable. The surrounding views are really what you are paying for. And veing tara is the little icing on the cake with its flooded rice paddie fields. Outside the little fences is barron brown fields. the room we stayed was very new and modern.
Review 40:Wi-fi can only be used in the lobby. Weak signal in the room.
Review 41:This place is very photogenic. We can just sit back, relax and enjoy the greenery. Even though the villa is quite small, it is comfortable to live in.
Review 42:Very basic accommodation in a beautiful setting in a riverfront villa. Service was very slow at breakfast but the staff were pleasant.
Review 43:beautiful views from the small open air restaurant/breakfast room. Quiet location with lovely walk into town.
Review 44:One small thing- No wifi in rooms
Review 45:Pretty much everything, location is stunning and close enough to the centre but slightly apart of you want to avoid noise from loud night bars. Very tranquil and great staff
Review 46:the bathroom is very small and makes it difficult to use the room was freezing with no facility to keep it warm no wi-fi very difficult to locate the property
Review 47:the villa's are clean but small the property overall is scenic and next to the river the breakfast was average
Review 48:Loved everything!
Review 49:Amazing location... so serene and beautiful. The service was spectacular. We would ALWAYS go back here if we were in town... if available. Can't imagine wanting to be anywhere else!
Review 50:I would recommend the property to organize a pick-up service from the bus station. Our tuk-tuk driver brought us to the bridge saying that he is not going to pay the toll and it is just behind the bridge. Is is not true. Pay the toll instead of the driver! And the bungalow is not so good as villa...
Review 51:Location, restaurant - try the local soup for breakfast - it is excellent
Review 52:When we stayed there ( Dec 2014) there was a new part of the Hotel under construction and the loud work began very early in the morning. We felt very dusturbed with this work. But it seems that the work will be finished soon.
Review 53:Very nice location on the other side of the river. The view from the breakfast location to the rice paddies and mountains is breathtaking. Very helpfull staff.
Review 54:- River view bangalow without television anyway, it's no need because the view is best ever :)
Review 55:- Best service and staffs - Best accommodation - Best, clean and testy foods - High impress about the rice that came from the green field in front of my eyes.
Review 56:- often non english speaking staff on duty - on arrival no sign to indicate the Hotel on the road. Made it quit hard to find the property
Review 57:-We had a beautiful Villa in the rice fields :) - quiet, because not in the middle of town - if english speaking staff was on duty: very friendly and helpful service
Review 58:Having to pay to cross the only bridge to the resort every time. But it was only about 50 cents. A perfect venue and wonderful friendly staff.
Review 59:Glorious bungalow among working paddy fields with a spectacular view of mist covered mountains. Excellent breakfast with faultless service. Wonderful sounds of the natural surroundings made the tourist town filled with bars a world away - even though it was only a few minutes walk.
Review 60:shower booth and water.. it was little panic, but we understood, because we are meddle of rice paddy.
Review 61:It is unique place never experienced. We stayed Villa where located middle of rice paddy. on the way to our place it is very special feeling ever had. I LOVE their breakfast, i tried noodle soup (pho) its delicious!
Review 62:You have to pay to get across the bridge to get there. My Turk tuk driver refused to take me over. By foot its 4000kip both ways 6000kip if your on bike.
Review 63:The staff were really friendly and it was a nice place to stay. It is on the other side of the Mekong from Vang Vieng so a little quieter but the setting is just amazing. Mountain views, river views and some rooms set in amongst rice fields. Very nice
Review 64:In the riverside bungalows, sound did carry from the neighbours nearby in other bungalows. But this is minor only.
Review 65:The views across the rice paddys to the mountains were amazing; the staff were always friendly and helpful; food was great (they had a good selection for breakfast); and the room was comfortable.
Review 66:- wifi did not reach the villas nor beyond the small lobby - not particularly close to town. Had to cross a footbridge and pay 4000 LAK when crossing one way. - the roads on this side of the bridge are not paved and when it rains there are massive puddles - ants in the room
Review 67:- gorgeous setting. An oasis after spending the day out in VV - impeccable rooms with a view of the rice fields (stayed in villa) - bathrooms were large and clean - staff was very helpful - good money exchange rate - quiet - on the side of the bridge nearer to blue lagoon
Review 68:It is a little bit far away from the town. The road is not lit and become dark in the night and very difficult to navigate without a torch. The nearest bridge to the villa has a toll and a short crossing from the other side of the river with boat cost 5000 kip. After raining, the site of free bamboo crossing (free of charge and quite a distance from the villa) will be flooded.
Review 69:The view is beautiful. The room is comfortable. All the staffs are really friendly and helpful.
Review 70:Given how dispersed the bungalows were (a positive) the wifi was only available in common areas. But staff were happy for you to sit and enjoy a drink & the view in these areas for as long as you liked.
Review 71:Set short walking distance out of main town, Vieng Tara Villa was an absolute retreat. Stunning views, gorgeous bungalows. Set amongst rice paddies with uninterrupted views of the mountains.
Review 72:the environment is very relaxing and the staff are very nice and helpful
Review 73:Quiet location with amazing view from the bungalow. Zen moment, relaxing feeling. Not far from Blu lagoon.
Review 74:Room we got is great, but my friend got one room of the old section. Floor has broken wood caused insects to come in.
Review 75:Beautiful hideaway location
Review 76:You have to pay the fee everytime you cross the bridge to/out of the hotel. It's very annoying
Review 77:The breakfast is very good.
Review 78:Good scenery , rice field
Review 79:Brigde fee and far from the market
Review 80:Nice view
Review 81:Location and atmostphere around the resort.
Review 82:wifi didn't work, book the rice field bungalows instead of river side
Review 83:Great location
Review 84:none.
Review 85:Everything at location n place.
Review 86:One of the best villa in Vang Vieng!
Review 87:Lovely breakfast, friendly staffs, wonderful views.
Review 88:Paid a bit extra to stay in one of the huts in the rice field; worth every dollar! Fantastic! Great breakfast!
Review 89:Everything, perfect location and mindblowing views, very helpful and friendly staff, fantastic breakfast
Review 90:Location great view
Review 91:Food in the restaurant was poor.
Review 92:Location on the other side of the river from the town. Great views from villas and easy access to numerous caves.
Review 93:Wifi connection was poor, only able to log on Internet once.
Review 94:the setting. Picturesque villas, relaxing place with perfect view of the karsts.
Review 95:They only have twin beds
Review 96:Beautiful landscape
Review 97:Improvement needed bungalow! But villa is excellent!
Review 98:Surreal scenery!!!
Review 99:the staff the lack of action from staff lack of seating on the bungalow veranda
Review 100:the views the bungalows the bathrooms
Review 101:Great staff, amazing view, great breakfast and great rooms.
Review 102:electric problem, staff didn't clean the room everyday
Review 103:nice location, original, nice staff
Review 104:Bit of a hassle paying for the bridge every time.
Review 105:Amazing location. Staff were great.
Review 106:We couldn't pay with credit card, but this was because the hotel was just new.
Review 107:We had a villa room with the most stunning view. The breakfast was good. The staff was very friendly and heplful. The hotel is on the other side of the river. There are no bars there so it more quit in the during night timw.
Review 108:Minor issues, stayed in the riverside bungalows, no bag storage in room & general feeling was that they have tried for a "boutique" feel but haven't quite understood what they are trying to achieve. Otherwise fantastic & public spaces (restaurant/bar) are spot on.
Review 109:Restaurant & public areas are stunning. Staff very friendly & helpful. Easy access to town in the dry season (bamboo bridge) suspect this may be an issue in the wet season.
Review 110:We paid for a room with TV but there was no TV and they said it was broken.
Review 111:The view was superb. The rooms were beautifully designed. A must, must try for all those big on experiential travelling!
Review 112:We booked the cheaper bungalow with garden view. It was very nice and clean. However due to the "cracks" in the floor animals could come in easily (we had to chase away 2 big spiders).
Review 113:Beautiful hotel. Absolutely wonderful staff. Great breakfast and dinner. Amazing view from the hotel over the rice paddy's.
Review 114:breakfast menu, like many in Laos, was limited and the food not of a great standard
Review 115:The villas are truly beautiful and with the most magnificent backdrop.
Review 116:It's obviously very new and a few touches are missing here and there. For example, to have a chair in the bungalow. But, overall, a great experience.
Review 117:The first thing that strikes the visitor when coming to the Vieng Tara Villa is the fact that this is neither a hotel nor a resort. It's a group of bungalows and villas in the middle of a rice field which is actually being worked by the farmers of the place. Therefore, views from the stilt houses guests live in are amazing. We went there because of the high ratings and we believe they are well deserved. Breakfast is good, abundant, and rooms are well equipped with a touch of Lao culture in the decor. The only noise that will keep you awake is that of crickets, frogs, and other kinds of animals. And, on top of all, staff is attentive and kind. They even went to buy our mobile phone top up cards at no cost. Oh, all this at a very affordable price.
Review 118:Nobody cares about your request.i ordered some food no body take to my house even I pushes them for several times . When I check in.toilet and bathroom is dirty.
Review 119:The environment is good
Review 120:Vieng Tara's location is not in the main area of Vang Vieng. The route to hotel isn't convenient if you have to carry the luggage, especially on rainy season.
Review 121:nice staff and beautiful scenery
Review 122:New hotel with a few minor teething issues with the bungalows water supply & plumbing...
Review 123:This is a lovely place away from the party zone, very quiet & in a beautiful setting... Great service by the keen staff... Was luxury at a budget price...
Review 124:Well if you don't book the Villa you are not in the rice-fields as seen on most pictures. Those ones are very close to the river and in a nice spot too. It's mentioned that the Villas/Bungalows do have 54 m2. This is not the fact even if you count the area under the houses which don't offer anything then a storage area. The Wifi was not working in the room.
Review 125:The bed was great, good sleep and the air condition very quiet and efficient. The location is great. It was clean , the stuff friendly with good English. Breakfast was good.
Review 126:It is over the river, which is a bit of a faff, but it adds to the appeal too. Wifi didn't reach our bungalow.
Review 127:Fantastic retreat if you want to do Vang Vien without the rowdy nightlife! Wonderful huts on stilts in rice fields, tranquil.
Review 128:Great experience with lovely and helpful staff. Clean and comfortable bedroom. Delicious food and fresh vegetable from small garden. Great location with great view of rice field and mountains right in front of the villa. The best part is its concept of 3% of revenue to support education of children in the community.
Review 129:The front door latch did not pin mount into the floorboard for a securely locked front door. But I think this is an easy fix that will be fixed.
Review 130:The setting was amazing! The Villa style bungalow was perfect. It looked even better in person than it did in the photos. And all of the staff were super nice.
Review 131:Inexperienced personnel but very willing. No transfer from bus station. No warning that visa payment is not possible (yet).
Review 132:Beautiful location. Beautiful villa Good food Quiet except for millions of Crickets.
Review 133:Nothing, our stay was perfect!
Review 134:The hotel was only opened very recently, and all villas were equally beautifully designed. The staff was extremely friendly, serving us beyond our expectations. This is really a place you want to go to!! Very much recommended!!!
Review 135:The hotel was very new and the level of service is not quite up to the price that is asked yet.
Review 136:This hotel has probably the best location of any hotel we've seen in Vang Vieng. It is beautifully laid out in the middle of rice fields and the views from the bungalows can only be described as absolutely stunning, at any time of the day. The staff was very attentive, if a bit inexperienced. The breakfast was abundant and very good. Great cocktails at the restaurant.
Review 137:Staff were fantastic so helpful and friendly. Location was stunning a great place to stay
