Reviews for Jammee Guesthouse

Review 1:the beds in the family room seriously need to be replaced. Ouch!

Review 2:Tucked out of the way, but still an nice stroll to crazy town if you desire. Fabulous swimming just down the road in a swimming hole coming out of the cave. Family friendly accomodation, basic but has all you need. Good breakfast.

Review 3:quite out of town, no facilities (not even TV), room was not cleaned at all, single bathroom toilet so floor always wet, and whole room smelt damp. a very last choice place.staff were pleasant but useless with no local knowledge. there is a menu - but none of it is available.

Review 4:peaceful location

Review 5:Noisy (very weird low-tone sound all night long as if some machine is working near you, hard to get to sleep), very-very basic. Never changed sheets and once didn't clean up the room at all ignoring the "please clean" sign on the door hanging there literally all day. Everything is very worn out.

Review 6:Breakfasts are fair, although the breakfast area is dirty and needs renovation. WiFi decent, the hotel has laundry. Rather comfy matress. It's very humid there so that they allow to change towels every day

Review 7:Roasters waking us up in the morning. We arrived late on the first day (9pm): the host was waiting for us and disappeared right after checking-in, so we couldn't ask any questions.

Review 8:Big desk to put your stuff on, but the room is quite simple: bed, desk, bathroom. Room size is ok.

Review 9:My first rooms had a bad mattress, but I was given a bigger room without extra charge. Cushions in the restaurant needed a washing

Review 10:Personnel really tried their best to please me.

Review 11:- Breakfast (only one choice from the menu. Are you a hostel? I think you may expect more for 180.000 kip. Poor!) - Staff (not really friendly and competent, almost missed my flight due to a wrong minivan booking. Became a bus with long delay ...) - Wifi (shaky)

Review 12:- Nice bed - Clean room - Quiet location

Review 13:Nothing really

Review 14:At the b ginning the ownerin was a little bit shy and reserved but after some small talk she began to be very friendly, she helpd with some standard but also unusual cases ( repairing my pants etc). We were also in the first days a littl bit unhappy with the room cleaning until we found the advice to ask for a cleaning when needed. Personaly we prefer to have someone in our rroom only when needed, so this was then fuly ok for us. The other goody is the breakfast which was sufficient, coffy and tee was free the hole day and yes. It is a little bit outside of th town but therefore quied with a romatic view on a rice field from the breakfast terrasse

Review 15:Nice quiet location, easy stroll to main part of town or back the other way to the nearby caves. Pleasant looking out over the rice field at breakfast

Review 16:Female staff rude. Booked and charged us for a minibus, and ended up on a regular bus with a family of five and overpaid for something we didn't get. Had to wait two hours at the hotel for transportation and they wouldn't allow us to stay in the room.

Review 17:Quiet

Review 18:No provision of hair dryer, some rooms directly accessible from street (no too sure if there is any surveillance on room security)

Review 19:Proximity to town centre, tranquil setting, breakfast next to a rice field

Review 20:Everything else. The room was filthy with more animal droppings adding by the hour, no cleaning even when asked. The staff was unhelpfull and non existant. Very very far from everything not just the center. No taxi to be found in the area. And so expensive! There are much better places half the price in better locations.

Review 21:The shared sitting area with amazing view

Review 22:Staff never around and hard to find at any point of day/night, even during breakfast hours. Put in a dingy room, separated from reception with a glass window and a curtain, woken up early with children watching tv there, the sink leaked when on, when other people showered bubbles and their water came up through shower drain, dark in both room and bathroom, had a door leading outside, lock was extremely lose and we had to move the wardrobe in front of it, room wasn't cleaned during our stay and upon arrival lots of cobwebs and dust around. We stayed here based on good reviews but it was the worst Guesthouse of our trip so far; we definitely would not come back. You could get far nicer places on this budget, much closer to town.

Review 23:Breakfast was good, hot baguette, nicely done eggs and coffee and tea available at all times. Good mosquito net.

Review 24:The place is at the end of the city and next to it there is only green fields and mountains. The view from the rooms is amazing and it is absolutely peaceful and quiet. Staff is really nice and helpful

Review 25:Internet was not available during our stay for 2 days/nights. Thestaff said this was because it was out in all of the town, but when wewent to town the internet was fine there. Repairmen arrived the secondday but it worked only for an hour then no more. As other reviewers havesaid lots of ants and bugs in the room, particularly due to largecrevices and cracks in the door and window frames, along with theguesthouse location adjacent to a wet location. A/c was very weakand took a long time to cool the medium sized room down. No tv in ourroom but we saw that other rooms did have one.

Review 26:Large counter space in the room. Location is only about 10 minutes walkinto the heart of town, and being a bit on the edge of town it wasquiet. The room and linens were clean.

Review 27:Rooms could have been a bit cleaner - quite a lot of bugs (not roaches) and some of the doors to the balcony didn't shut properly.

Review 28:nicely positioned on edge of town - quiet and peaceful

Review 29:Awful staff (apart from a nice old man we met on our last day). The rest acted like you were a huge burden - if you were lucky enough to see someone. Room didn't lock properly, bugs everywhere (though it's what you expect). Maybe we just had an unlucky experience but can't recommend here based purely on staff attitude.

Review 30:Nice breakfast, good seating area.

Review 31:I know that Laos is buggy, but there were so many bugs in the room. The room wasn't cleaned at all during our three day stay and I had to ask for the bathroom to be cleaned when I got there. Also, Vang Vieng is a lot quieter than it used to be I believer. No reason to stay so far out of town, especially at this time of year.

Review 32:The hotel is run by a sweet family. It is very quiet. I liked the breakfast area.

Review 33:slightly far out of town, there are many more hotels which probably offer the same that are closer to the action. The restaurant area needed updating.

Review 34:Lovely views, big rooms, breakfast menu nice was good and they did takeaway for our early start.

Review 35:The location is quite far from the city centre. It is not suitable for person who is lazy to walk. The price is a bit expensive.

Review 36:The hotel environment and it s near to a famous cave.

Review 37:The owner and staff were so kind and helpful. The breakfast was amazing and the seating area was really comfortable and amazing for watching the sunset/storms. Overall a really pleasant stay.

Review 38:WiFi didn't really get to our room, there were lots of insects and no net and the place was somewhat dirty.

Review 39:We liked the room a lot, the breakfast was great and the staff was really helpful and accommodated all our requests.

Review 40:Too far from the center. It's too hot there so even 10 munite walking made me tired and hard to get some good food quickly. And uf I don't ask, they never clean my room. At the reception there's nobody. I have to look for staffs to asl to change the towels and waitef for more tham 15 munites for someone to come. It's queit place but every early morning the chicken cried too much and it bothered me a lot.

Review 41:Comfortable and wifi is strong. Breafast is good

Review 42:it's some distance to the center of the town, so you should get a scooter

Review 43:good price for a value you get, quiet cozy place, free water, good choice for breakfast

Review 44:Breakfast choices are awesome from any kind of egg with roll to fruit and yoghurt. Beautiful views and quiet location only a short walk to the centre.

Review 45:The cleanisses of the room was acceptable, however the bathroom was very dirty and the hygienic standards in the common areas not the best. Wifi did not work in the room but was okay in common areas. The mosquito net had holes that could easily be flicked. Customer service is below average; apart from the owner who I only saw on the morning of check-out the communications skills of staff - beyond the language barrier - was poor. No single occupancy discount and for the region the room was definitely not worth the $20 a night charged.

Review 46:Great quiet location about 15m walk away from the city center with view to rice fields and mountains. Family-run business with basic but good facilities. Comfortable bed with clean bedding, clean towels provided. Good choice of breakfast and lovely outside seating area.

Review 47:We loved the location. It was nice and peaceful being slightly away from the main area. However it was never too far away from the action. The owner was so helpful. We really messed him around with our bus destinations and times and he was very patient with us and sorted everything out perfectly. Huge thank you!

Review 48:A little far from the center. Some room has a weak signal of Wifi.

Review 49:great moutain view. Good room and delicious breakfast. Farming fields and woods around the guesthouse are relaxing. Even low price.

Review 50:Vang Vieng without tourists would be/have been spectacularly attractive. Alas with all 'the get on the band wagon' young travellers, it's pretty much of a tip. I know I was young once, but would I have enjoyed this?

Review 51:Great scenery.

Review 52:The location is a bit far from center of town but it is a small town where takes 20 min to walk around.

Review 53:The owner was very nice and breakfast was good.

Review 54:Wifi was a little patchy at times but wasnt a big deal for us.

Review 55:The staff were very nice and accommodating. Its a bit of a walk (10 min) from the center of town but a nice walk nonetheless.

Review 56:We arrived one evening during a weird random shower. We called the guesthouse, and the owner picked us up with his own truck. We were extremely grateful, and the place is definitely good value for the money!

Review 57:The staff, the breakfast, the location, the sitting area. A slight smell of damp in our first room, they were really happy to move us to another room. The info from Lyle about where to go was great. Out of town, but this was to its benefit

Review 58:The walk downtown travel agents is 25 mins.

Review 59:Location is away from party area but close to restaurants and places the rent bikes or motorcycles. The breakfast area has great view of the mountains. The breakfast that is included with the room were great; omelet with bread, muesli with yoghurt, or fruit

Review 60:* about a 12-15 minute walk to town, a bit far out * the walls are paper thin - even though the guesthouse is away from the town noise, you can still hear the other guests (hopefully you will have other travellers who are quiet at night - my stay was a mixed bag) * found out I was overcharged 10,000 kip for a bus trip that I booked through them to Vientiane (I asked other travellers on the bus how much they paid, I paid the most, at least the above stated amount) * other travellers I met paid less for similar or better accommodation * WiFi was spotty most of the time, but that is the same all over Laos

Review 61:* in a quiet location, away from the party scene * the Australian owner seem like a nice guy * the included breakfast is excellent - muesli, baguettes, eggs, coffee, tea - very nicely done

Review 62:Large room with balcony. Excellent breakfast. Helpful staff who booked bus ticket and tuktuk to bus station. Short walk to river and cave nearby (10 minutes). Good local restaurant 5 mins walk away.

Review 63:Location is a little bit far from the action (15 minutes walk), the rooms downstairs have no view at all, and you need curtains to enjoy some privacy

Review 64:The owner is a really nice person, ready to give you details about local attractions and eager to help. Breakfast is good and location is quiet, facing the mountains and rice fields. Air con working properly, room not really big, but quite clean. Overall a pleasant stay, and if you walk along the dirt path you are few minutes away from local attraction Tham Chang cave.

Review 65:Indifferent staff more concerned with their own children than payingguests. Assured me wi fi was available in the room when she knew itwasn'T. All the other guests were huddled around the foot of thestairs trying to pick up a signal. Couldn't go in the lobby aschildren's tv was blaring out for their children to watch! I paidfor the room but didn't stay. ......

Review 66:Balcony.

Review 67:The internet speed was very slow, but this is normal in Laos.

Review 68:The beds are soft and the rooms are specious. We've got a family room for 2 people. The breakfast areas is in lounge style and good for relaxing during the day. The breakfast is good and offers different choices. The staff is really nice and helpful for booking transportion or tours. The location is a bit out of town, but we liked it.

Review 69:-wifi is not available in the room

Review 70:-one of the best breakfasts! -quiet location near a cave -very nice & helpful people ->one of the best guesthouses we stayed

Review 71:As Jammee guesthouse is not in the center of Vang Vieng (about 7 minutes by walk) it is very quiet. We had booked the family room, which was very spacious. It had aircon, warm water and mosquito nets for all beds. We also had a balkony with nice views on the rice fields. Breakfast was yummy. This is a basic guesthouse, so don't expect 5-star comfort. The value for the price is absolutely fair.

Review 72:A little far from the centre ,but can be walked in 15 minutes, The breakfast area could do to be knocked down and built again [a timber lean too] unlike the rest of the building, which is sound

Review 73:Very good value, the best i have had at this price ,big rooms with balcony and views of the surrounding mountains, good breakfast ,nice and helpful staff, would stay again,

Review 74:quite overpriced for what you get. The room was ok but not really clean and quite old. Breakfast was good but table wasn't cleared until the late evening and the whole breakfast area would need a clean up

Review 75:Quiet location Really friendly and helpful staff Fresh, warm baguette for breakfast :)

Review 76:After 1 night a lot of ants found our room and you have to ask to get your room cleaned, but for the (Lao) price I can't complain.

Review 77:The view from the balcony is amazing and a very good breakfast was included (you can choose from a menu with lots of options such as a big bowl of fresh fruits to a big baquette with eggs). The basic room has aircon and a fan and was clean. Perfect low budget option!

Review 78:Good option if you want to avoid party scene. Very helpful staff, not far from centre, good rooms and great breakfast. Free flow coffee, tea and water fountain also an added bonus.
