Review 1：The room was basic though and cluttered considering it was a suite with a small bed we thought might be kingsize, very uncomfortable mattress's on the beds. The breakfast being very limited continental style.

Review 2：Location lovely with wonderful views from the balconies of the bedroom and restaurant bar, with friendly and helpful staff.

Review 3：Tepid temperature of the water for the shower and bath. Too small a bathroom. Badly laid out suite as we had to walk through two rooms to reach the bathroom which should have been attached directly to our bedroom. Complained about the lack of hot water and was greeted by a shrug.

Review 5：Extremely beautiful view from the hotel - the canyon with the river and mountains, especially if you are lucky to have a room to that side. Great advantage is a swimming pool (under the roof) and nearby relax area (outside). Staff is very welcome, hotel is very clean, breakfast is delicious.

Review 6：Beautiful scenery from the balcony. Bats flying within half a metre which was amazing in the early evening. Centrally placed so it was just a short walk to the centre...3 mins max.

Review 11：I originally had a room facing the street which was noisy when I had the window open. With the window closed you don't hear much but it's a city view instead of a river view. This situation was resolved by the friendly staff when I asked to be changed to a different room.

Review 12：The room facing the river was peaceful with a beautiful view. The breakfast offered a wide variety of options to enjoy included with my stay. The swimming pool is enjoyable. Free parking is included. This is a great location to base yourself if you wish to explore other towns and villages. The staff was very friendly and helpful with suggestions of wineries to visit and local favorite restaurants and bars. All great recommendations!

The general ambience was very good; a bright reception area with fresh flowers beautifully displayed. Attentive Staff in the restaurant for the evening meal and quality of food and wine excellent.

The breakfast covered all tastes but could have been improved with fresh, rather than tinned fruit and juice. We had one evening meal but felt we did much better in the excellent Terra de Montanha restaurant in the town - a gem.

Review 42：The position in the town was excellent and the view over the gorge was breathtaking. The staff was very friendly - nothing was too much trouble. Parking was secure and undercover. Vila Real is very close to the Douro wine areas and their excellent wine. Definitely a place to visit.

I had a problem of transportation because when I asked by e-mail about how to get there they didn´t inform me about the bus sched in order to get there, considering it´s the "four star" hotel there´s much left to desire.

Review 70：We stayed three nights and had a large room with a balcony overlooking the Corgo Gorge. Staff were friendly, service great, location excellent. So close to town yet quiet and spacious with good free WiFi and free underground parking. Breakfast was excellent and included in the price. Air con wasn't that great but wether did attempt to improve it for us. Would definitely recommend. It has an enormous indoor swimming pool too and a resident parrot!
