Reviews for Madigan Vineyard Cottages and Homestead

Review 1:Kitchen need a stove to cook with and a working BBQ would have been great also.

Review 2:Bedroom was comfortable, lounge and dinning / lounge very modern and comfortable. Location was great.

Review 3:No kitchen blinds the other blind had some strips missing, Mosquitos inside the house, spiders In the lounge chair, the place needs a good clean and spray for spiders, cobwebs in the lounge chair or a nest, we all got bitten lots,

Review 4:Privacy

Review 5:Didn't see any staff. Was led to believe this was 4 star accommodation. Nothing like the web page. The cabin was not particularly clean.- carpet needs shampooing, furniture old, a lot of dust on furniture. Veranda timber rotting - 2 tall males bumped heads on low roofing, cleaning cupboard not locked. Lack of screen on front door resulted in a room full of mossies. Barbecue was very greasy.

Review 6:Linen and bedding was clean and adequate. Kitchen facilities were adequate.

Review 7:The spa wasn't working, very frustrating as that is the aspect of the accommodation we had been looking forward to.

Review 8:The location, the privacy, the accommodation of a large group and that it was self contained with kitchen etc.

Review 9:While the cabin was clean there are signs of ageing decor especially in the bathroom. The back sensor light didn't work - there was no where to report maintenance issues.

Review 10:The cabin was quiet - the setting was picture postcard. If you had children a great spot to let them run free & play!!

Review 11:No handtowels supplied? But the bathtowels that were supplied were lovely and clean and soft!!

Review 12:Quiet location, bbq facility, really clean tidy unit.lovely views...good aircon!

Review 13:One of the chairs were broken and my sister-in-law nearly hit the floor sitting on it. They were also very low, hard to get in a out of and I'm only 32 let alone my mother-in-law of 68. The rafters and kitchen need a clean. The note about a $200 bond puts a bad taste in your mouth when things are already broken before you walk in. Where is the cellar door???? We did not see anyone except the gardener who told us it was open and just walk in; would have been nice to see someone or a little note welcoming us.

Review 14:The location was good. The beds were very very comfortable.

Review 15:since we went during summer and Barn is a loft cabin it was way too hot to be inside even with the a/c on, recommend using this cabin out of summer time and it would be nice if you can improve water flow of the shower..

Review 16:value for money since I got a special rate from booking.com, very clean and Manager John is a. Dry nice person and it is a pleasant stay, well equipped

Review 17:We couldn't find a bottle opener and the price to use the single beds was quite expensive per night.

Review 18:Great position and great spot for a group of friends and

Review 19:There's not a lot of places to eat that are open mid week in close vicinity. Thankfully there is a bbq

Review 20:We stayed in the kookaburra cottage mid week. It was lovely and peaceful and having a spa and a bbq was great.

Review 21:The hot water tank only allowed for one spa bath at a time, maybe a shower curtain to make it less easy to soak the bathroom floor. One of the single beds was not as comfortable for an adult as the queen and other single bed, suggest upgrading to spring mattress.

Review 22:The cottage is cute and flawlessly clean on arrival. Was great to be away from the city, BBQ was in excellent condition, Aircon worked well, Good nature vibe, surrounded by animal sounds at night. Air balloons and kangaroos in the morning. I would definitely go back, felt so relaxed after our stay. It's basic but suited our needs perfectly, if u want something flashy go to a hotel.

Review 23:Traveled in a group of 6, accommodation fab for a group. Great having BBQ and outdoor area to chill out. All cabins are far enough apart that you have privacy.

Review 24:The only thing that I didn't like were the mosquitoes perhaps having citronella candles or some sort of repellent would do it justice.

Review 25:Location we were close to a lot of things The fact that it felt like my own home with a beautiful 360 view Staff are wonderful and so helpful.

Review 26:Some items were not working - hotplate and TV reception. The owners appreciated our advice and responded to the issues accordingly.

Review 27:Our stay in the "barn" was very relaxing with no traffic noise or other patrons. The facilities are very "homely and comfortable" which is great when you want a break away from everything.

Review 28:he fact that you have your own private cabin, great location, quiet, relaxing. simple without the modern cons, I like that! loved to sit in the back verandah and watched the wild life. i was lucky enough to view a pair of wedge tailed eagles circling above looking for prey!

Review 29:We can get all kitchen utensils that we want and also bbq stove and pool.

Review 30:Central location

Review 31:Only one thing in our cottage , it could do with a second bathroom.

Review 32:Very comfortable and convenient location. It was great.

Review 33:Only one toilet and bathroom, lounges could be updated.

Review 34:Quiet location, with good country feel.

Review 35:The facilities are run down and it's a borderline creepy place

Review 36:Nothing

Review 37:One toilet for 5 people a bit inconvenient.

Review 38:Location and rural surrounds

Review 39:Upstairs bedroom needs a curtain. Beware the green lounge. Furniture needs a bit of an update!

Review 40:The cost. The location. The beds - so comfy.

Review 41:A really relaxing and peaceful break... Close to wineries and quality restaurants... Just a perfect place to unwind.

Review 42:Everything was provided, loved the BBQ

Review 43:Location. Good spot in the hunter. Nice peaceful accommodation. Very simple.

Review 44:Poor cleaning - you should not find cigarette butts galore fromprevious occupants when you go outside on veranda for breakfast. Likewise lamps with no light bulbs ? Why? This is charging a lot of money for very sloppy service. Would not stay there again.

Review 45:Location and building are well set up.

Review 46:- no reception - far from being luxury - very old and dirty carpets - smelly bath room - grill lighter did not work neither the one provided in the kitchen - the "four star" classification is a joke and misleading! - We planned staying for two days but left after one night.

Review 47:- bedroom was clean but had no cabinet. - Location is very calm and isolated

Review 48:Great self-contained cottage on the vineyard, away from the traffic of the Hunter Valley. Plenty of birds, some kangaroos, and even a couple of pelicans. Lovely country sunrises and beautiful colorful sunsets. So relaxing and yet not far from the wineries we visited and the roads we travelled on throughout the region to experience all we could.

Review 49:We would have liked an electric blanket on the bed as some nights were quite cold. But to be fair we didn't ask because we got back late most days.

Review 50:We loved the peace and quiet of the setting yet it was still close enough to facilities. We also wanted to be self contained and the cottage provided for this very well.

Review 51:The location was pretty basic and the estate was for sale which showedin the minimal upkeep of the property: poor quality and old out of datefurniture. Needs a total makeover to really justify the cost. The housewas very hot on arrival as all windows were open but cooled downeventually with the air con on.

Review 52:The house itself had pretty well everything you need but with only onewc and bathroom it would be tricky for six persons. The air con workedok but only in kitchen and upstairs double. Sharon the manager was verygood and available when required for information.

Review 53:Neat, clean & tidy, good spot, nice & quiet. Staff very accommodating when requested an earlier checkin & they ensured the cottage was cleaned & ready.

Review 54:Location was fantastic. Cottage brillant. Easy drive around Hunter Valley.

Review 55:that it wss very private and centrally located to everything in the Hunter.

Review 56:possibility of being cut-off by low dip in the road in heavy rain

Review 57:private, quiet location, very comfortable

Review 58:Location and comfort of the house (Homestead).

Review 59:Bathroom needs a fan

Review 60:Nice and clean quite and in the middle and anything u could need

Review 61:Peace & Quiet

Review 62:Excellent facilities and furniture
