Review 1：It was a pleasure to stay at this pink jewel box of a hotel. I've stayed at the large hotels that line the promenade in Portoroz, but this smaller family hotel gets my vote. The Marko is set back from the strip, with a lush garden between you and the sometimes hectic life of this seaside resort. Go for a room with a sea view. There's also a parking garage--a real plus in a town where parking spaces can be as scarce as hen's teeth. Oh, and take dinner at the restaurant; it's good value and great taste--all served up with fancy tablecloths and old world levels of service.

Review 2：In contrast to the information on the booking.com page, all parking lots in the neighborhood are subject to a fee.

Review 3：Very nice and clean hotel. According to our request we had a very calm room. Very friendly staff. Rich breakfast.

Review 4：Prior to booking, the hotel confirmed with us that there is free parking spaces behind the hotel. We arrived around 6pm at the hotel. Couldn't remember the name of the staff (a male), but when we enquired about the free parking, he simply shove us a garage card. And when we asked if it's free, he said "free" and was very impatient to get rid of us! We ended up paying 14euro for 2 nights parking when the free parking spaces were empty! So, for those of you who are driving, there is no parking signs or light at the entrance to the free parking. Just drive pass the hotel garage till you reach the end of road. On the right, is the free parking. There's a lift to the hotel. But during low season, it is shut down.

Review 5：Free parking. Numerous food outlets for varying budgets just 2 minutes walk away. Supermarket is about 20 minutes walk. Bus stop to Piran just outside hotel. Beach just across from hotel.

Review 6：Bed was awful (double bed with two mattrasses and they were so soft and not fixated so it was very uncomfortable to sleep or to do anything else (I can't understand why hotels in this town almost all bought such awful mattrasses and beds). Parking is payable at the end of november? It is 7€ "only", but almost in winter? I think they could skip charging for it. We reservated room with sea view which was about 10€ more expensive but then at the hotel we got a room with a tree view. I asked them to change to room and we got another one with a great sea view. I don't know why we haven't got the good room right away. Maybe because we booked over booking.com? I don't know. There was a mini bar in room but drinks were very expensive (3€ for coca cola). With a bit smaller prices i would empty it but this way it was cheaper to go to a nice bar next by.

Review 9：Beautiful and cery well kept building, with a nice garden and a perfect location on the waterfront. Hotel staff is as nice and welcoming as can be. Room was large, clean and very quiet. Breakfast was excellent.

Review 10：I have stayed here in the past and definitely will again in the future. It is a smaller hotel with a great staff, is super clean, and so conveniently located. The décor is lovely as well.

Review 11：I asked if possible for a sea view (it was not specified by booking.com while making the reservation, so I have put an extra note) I got I think the only room with a claustrophobic view over the fence of the garden. :-( Everything else was just perfect.

Review 17：Hotel is nice, but staff is not so friendly We reserved a room with seeview possibility, but get an other one where the view was the small garden and garage and because of the garage it was noisy. For 10 EUR / night extra cost it was able to change room for seeview one. Aircondition is not aircondition, but rotate the air

Review 19：The one unpleasant moment was that we found flying ants on our bed last night: they were coming through air conditioning system to the chandeliers, then falling down on the bed. So we had to keep light in the bathroom on all night long to attract those ants to another place outside of the room. And second moment, this hotel is popular through russian tourists which often arrogant and fill all the space around by themselves and their problems.

Review 20：Nice, calm, clean, soigne hotel with good cuisine and realy friendly and helpfull staff. Just in front of the beach. Also it is suitable for those who travel by the car because it has free parking (garage is available for 7 euros per night) and it stands on main road which connects Portorozh with Piran from one side and autobahn from the other side.

Review 25：The only let down was at breakfast time....the scrambled eggs and fruit was not replenished quick enough by the two staff who struggled to cope.....after 9am the fried bacon is cold...the fruit juice is poor quality.....i suggest employ one extra staff to improve the breakfast rush!

Review 32：This hotel has a very nice garden were you can relax. It is also very well located (10 min walk from the Spa&Wellness center - 2 min from the sea side walkway).

Review 33：The location was fantastic. Our family enjoyed walking along the water and the bus trip to Piran was so easy (Bus stop was 20 metres from the door). All the staff were so helpful and friendly, going out of their way to be of assistance. There was a good selection of food for breakfast and everything was fresh. The room was clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. Would stay there again.

Review 34：unpleasant constant smell in bathroom. It was big spot of dust on ventilation. They save money "on matches" toilet paper is very cheap and poor, soap is bad quality. Shower is small. Pillows are not comfort. If standing on balcony you can feel smoking smell. Actually all is subjective and not so awful but it's four star hotel..

Review 39：Spacious rooms, very nice brakfast, lovely view on the sea, helpful and friendly staff, garage and lift in the building. We went on first mini holiday (2 nights) with 2 months old baby and it was really nice, comfortable and relaxing for all 3 of us.

Review 41：First, the location is a great asset, on the sea front, nice view. The hotel is surrounded by a big and well landscaped garden, the location is central, but not in the middle of city turmoil. It is easily accessible by car and has it own garage, which is, by the way, cheaper than parking in the street. The rooms are spacious and have a seating area. The terrace faces the sea and has a nice view over the garden. The staff is friendly and unobtrusive. Breakfast is abundant with a good choice to suit everyone's taste.

Review 42：The room was lovely with a pretty balcony overlooking the water and a beautiful green space. What was awesome was the quantity of birds singing all day long. You would have thought that you were in the country. the breakfast was fantastic. So much variety. The suppers were very nice in their restaurant. The staff were extremely helpful. The location was perfect for either walking along the water for a long way, or walking along a divided street with cafes and shops. Very nice location. Even though the hotel is on a busy street, traffic noises could not really be heard.

We had a sea view room. Balconies are nice size. Beautiful area! We would highly recommend this hotel and we hope to go back there!

Review 51：Everything. What I would highligth is the kitchen. We walked out for dinner at the first nights until we tried the hotel restaurant and it was really worth doing. Never had dinner elsewhere afterwards. Very good food and nice service.

Review 54：WiFi worked poorly in the room, slightly better in the hallway. Decoration was quite simple but everything needed was there. Safety deposit box was one of the smallest I've seen. Afterall the "exclusive" Meduza beach seemed be open and free of charge for everyone and deck chairs and sunshades were charged (12 € per 2 chairs and a sunshade per day) from hotel guests also.

Review 55：Nice smaller scale hotel compared to the others in the row on Portoroz beach. Room and public spaces were clean. Location is nice: there is one street between the hotel and sea. There was nice seaview over the beautiful garden from the balcony of our seaside room. Quite good selection on breakfast though warm dishes weren't always so hot neither cold dishes cold and tomatoes were the only fresh vegetables served. Parking garage (7€ per day) was handy and spacious.
