SL Hotel Santa Luzia – Elvas descritpion
The newly-opened SL Hotel Santa Luzia is sited in the building of the former Pousada de Elvas, which was inaugurated in 1942. The hotel is located in the city of Elvas, classified as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2012.
Featuring an elegant, yet typical, décor, the hotel rooms have cable TV, minibar, and a telephone. They also feature exterior access, en suite bathroom and free WiFi access. All rooms offer pool, garden and city views.

The Bar serves cocktails and appetizers, and like the restaurant, has terraces with relaxing views over the swimming pool.
The Hotel has two games rooms, a tennis court and free parking. The Spanish city of Badajoz is 7.5 miles away and the bus station is only a 7-minute walking distance from the Hotel.

Reviews for SL Hotel Santa Luzia – Elvas
Review 1:The dinner menu options looked confusing. It could be short and simple. Not good value for money. We did not like the food at dinner. Prawn curry tasted more seafood than curry itself. The "bacalhau dorado desfiado com batata palha" hardly had cod fish in there with load of potatoes (loads of good restaurants in the area). Did not like wall fixed hairdryer in the bathroom. Could have provided a hairdryer on the table (for ladies: there is a large mirror in the room). Mattress was too hard. Did not have the fluffy feeling.
Review 2:The room was very clean and smelled good. Well done housekeeping staff. All staff was excellent - welcoming, personalised, friendly and professional. The shower was powerful and bathroom was very clean with loads of toiletries. The breakfast was great with loads of options. 4 star service overall. Great attitude from all staff. Great location with no noise disturbance. Excellent car park open space. Beautifully designed lobby and bar. Relaxing atmosphere. Free wifi. Very comfortable stay overall.
Review 3:No hot water in the evening to take a bath.....only heated up by the following morning. The restaurant was overpriced.
Review 4:Good location for an overnight stop on our trip. The bed and linen.
Review 5:there is no street address so not easy to find with GPS
Review 6:Great staff. terrific restaurant , Very clean and comfortable and walking distance to the historic sights.
Review 7:We arrived a lot earlier then we expected to but the receptionist made sure we didn't wait too long for our room to be ready. staff very helpful and friendly.
Review 8:Restaurant could have had a wider choice of main courses - they were all fairly "heavy". The gazpacho was very poor.
Review 9:Excellent room. Excellent pool. Excellent location.
Review 10:Arrived 14:15 advised room was not available! Approx 2 hours wait. Hotel phoned at 17:20 to say room was ready. Receptionist left desk unattended for long periods as she dealt with taking clients to rooms, short staffed maybe? Pool sides & base were very dirty, couldn't bring ourselves to use it.iHot breakfast was cold. Views of aqueduct were poor from this hotel.
Review 11:Receptionist was obviously doing numerous jobs but ensured clients were well attended to & was polite at all times though stressed. Rooms were clean, facilities adequate. Location was good for visiting centre & historic sites.
Review 12:Nothing
Review 13:Fantastic evening meal and the breakfast was extensive and superb. The staff could not have been helpful giving information and maps about the city.
Review 14:The degustation menu is pretentious. Description does not match what you get. If you eat in this restaurant stick to the main dishes. The older staff seams to stress and push around the younger staff.
Review 15:The rooms decoration represent well the vibe of the region. Renovation was well done and maintains a luxurious feeling (marbles, fire places) The swimming pool is large and the grounds well maintained. The young staff is pleasant, friendly and informative. The hotel is very cleaned.
Review 16:Nothing, for a change!
Review 17:Excellentl location into the walled city...5 minute walk. Helpful staff at reception, map and tour of hotel. Spacious rooms, efficient heating, excellent WiFI speed throughout hotel, cosy fireplace in bar area and convenient secure parking... definitely returning to this hotel.
Review 18:Could do with a little bit more power in the shower.
Review 19:Very nice, quiet and peaceful Hotel within walking distance to the centre of town, spotlessly clean throughout. Staff very friendly and very helpful.Room was cosy and spacious with a very comfortable King size bed.
Review 20:Elvas itself doesn't offer a whole lot, but the hotel is well-placed for the attractions (great for history lovers) and for trips in the area.
Review 21:This hotel is a real gem, with very nice and attentive service and a great kitchen. Chef Alice excels, as she has been doing in the restaurant 'Cadeia Quinhentista' in Estremoz, owned by the same people. We are big fans of Cadeia and were not disappointed in the hotel, where we had a great dinner! All in all, great relation price/quality!
Review 22:Nothing to dislike
Review 23:Very good pool. Food was good. Good avice on wine. All staff very friendly, attentive and helpful would definitely stay again if in area
Review 24:This is not a Pousada, and the price is much too high. The pool is surrounded by very busy roads, diesel fumes choking. and not very clean water. Very disappointing!
Review 25:The breakfast was good.
Review 26:Overall great experience. Just to be picky, the TV sets in the room are could be updated, but really this is just a very minor issue.
Review 27:Fantastic and welcoming staff. Excellent breakfast with delicious regional delicacies and freshly squeezed orange juice. Great pool. Walking distance to city centre. I've been regularly staying at this hotel and I can say the new management did a very good job revamping the hotel.
Review 28:Nothing !!!! This is one of the best hotels of this star rating we have stayed at anywhere in Europe.
Review 29:Everything, the attentiveness of the staff, the cleanliness of the hotel, the location, the quality of the food served. Our three night stay here was a very pleasant experience.
Review 30:nothing really, the wifi didn't work too well in our room but was ok elsewhere.
Review 31:Beautiful handpainted furniture, large rooms, spotlessly clean, helpful staff, quiet (apart from slight traffic noise). Only 10 minutes walk from centre.

Review 52:Helpfulness of staff. Good breakfast.
Review 53:It was very clean and really comfortable.
Review 54:Elvas is a fantastic little fortified town , I wish we could have had longer there. The hotel is a short walk away from the city walls and certainly ticked all our boxes. With very pleasant and helpful staff and a varied menu, it should be on everyone's list of stopovers on the way to and from the Algarve. I really recommend this place. But do 2 nights so you can get he best out of Elvas.
Review 55:Smoking in the bar and restaurant, this should be pointed out to the guests. It was overpowering in the bar areas and thank goodness nobody else was in the restaurant when we ate.
Review 56:Elvas is a very interesting place and lots to see but would have to find another hotel as smoking is permitted against EU rules.
Review 57:Internet out during our stay. Location a good walk from historical sites and local activities.
