Reviews for Riverside Boutique Resort, Vang Vieng

Review 1:There was nothing about this hotel I didn't like and that's saying something as I am very critical.

Review 2:This hotel far exceeded my expectations. It was very simply but beautifully decorated. Lovely big rooms. Excellent breakfast. Great views from the upstairs terrace where breakfast was served. At night there are lanterns in the trees and lining the paths around the property. The atmosphere there was very sophisticated.

Review 3:Everything was perfect.

Review 4:The best hotel in Vang Vieng. Beutiful scenery from most of the rooms. Just a 5 min walk from the town center. Wonderful rooms. Amazing bed. Great WIFI throughout the entire proprty. We loved every single minute there. Great value for our money.

Review 5:The muddy road just outside the hotel, but it is not the problem of the hotel.

Review 6:Everything: the beautiful view of its location, the swimming pool, the friendly and helpful staff, the delicious and rich breakfast, the spacious room...

Review 7:This hotel is ok but it is overpriced. We were there only a short time & it was raining but the wifi & TV didn't work properly for the short time we wanted to use them.

Review 8:Room was a good size & the balcony looked nice (we didn't use it due to the rain)

Review 9:A tad far from the centre which can be a little quiet when u come back late. The entrance to the rooms is at the back of the building which is not v well lit.

Review 10:Peaceful place. Watch the river activities at the breakfast area.

Review 11:Fresh juice at breakfast would be great. 2 Gecko's in room, large gap Under balcony door, but it wasn't much of a problem for us.

Review 12:service was excellent, pool was perfect, room beautiful, everything really good.

Review 13:Had to move because the water from the bathroom of the first room was brown and dirty !!! I asked the reception to scan and send very important documents to a member of my family and they sent to another person and put me in mess.... the manager said that it was not his fault but mine because I should have done it by myself !!! finally after talking to the owner they had to apologize...

Review 14:Amazing breakfast, beautiful confortable room, swimming pool with warm water

Review 15:Lack of parking space for folks driving their own vehicle. We ended up having a pretty heavy scratch in our vehicle which was parked in a cramped parking area. No one informed and we also didn't bother to complain.

Review 16:the pool, the fantastic view, great staff and the breakfast!

Review 17:Always face trouble with water supply. Often low water pressure and sometimes without water at all.

Review 18:Nice view from room, surrounded by beautiful scenery. Comfortable room and bed.

Review 19:The hotel is a little pricy compared to the other hotels in VV....

Review 20:The hotel is great! Its beautiful, best pool, located right on the river and the staff is really nice and helpful. The best breakfast we had in SE Asia!!

Review 21:Pool could be open longer than until 7 pm. A gym would be a nice addition (still, you can do some biking instead).

Review 22:Excellent location next to the bridge on the way to Blue Lagoon. Fantastic pool and great views. Very helpful staff can arrange transfers at no extra fees. Free bikes for rent.

Review 23:Fantastic outlook by the bamboo bridge over looking the Nam Song River and mountains beyond. Away from the noisy town centre. Nice rooms and facilities. Very pleasant staff and probably the best restaurant in town.

Review 24:Close to perfect....I had trouble figuring out the hot water system, that's all that prevented it from being utterly perfect.

Review 25:Just the right distance from town...close to some good restaurants but away from the noise. Beautiful grounds and decor. Staff were great....we arrived wondering about kayaking and transportation to Ventiane and extra early breakfast and desk clerk had it all arranged within minutes

Review 26:The suite we had was on the ground floor so we did not have a great view of the river. It was quite noisy with the sound of flushing water from the facility next door, which can be clearly heard from the balcony/verandah (unsure what this might be whether its the laundry drainage or a septic system etc). And of course with kids running around playing it was not ideal to stay on the verandah during these times, if you want peace and quite. It was lovely and quiet inside the room with the doors closed.

Review 27:We stayed at this hotel for three nights in a suite room which is large and the facilities inside were beautiful. The food in the restaurant is superb, and well presented everytime. The resort has beautiful views of the hills, and of the river.

Review 28:Noisy location near bridge and road. Big bath in room but no hot water to fill it. No sugar (only 'lite sugar' for tea coffee). Outlook to beautiful cliffs actually better from other properties nearby up stream.Things just not quite up to par - supposedly 5 star but, for e.g covers on pool lounges missing on many lounges, outside tables not wiped, no skim milk available, etc

Review 29:Vang Vieng is stunning - so it's difficult to find a place that does not have a great outlook. That said, Riverside's outlook to the river is not the best in town. Pool is lovely (and rare in Vang Vieng). Gardens v well maintained. Staff friendly though not always able to solve simple things (e.g sugar for tea/coffee).

Review 30:i loved everything.

Review 31:This hotel was a paradise. Worth every last cent and we even had lunch and dinners here too. Didn't love the town to be honest but this hotel absolutely made up for it and would bring me back. Incredible views from the (fresh-water) pool/balcony, fantastic service and beautiful decor. The rooms are large and luxurious... i would have paid more!!

Review 32:steps up to 2nd floor a bit auckward, but compensated with better view. Price a bit high.

Review 33:We only stayed overnight on our wayfrom VVientiane to Luang Prabang; a pitty we should have stayed several days. An almost perfect place. Good staff, very good vieuws onto the mountains and river. good facilities, good food. Highly recommended

Review 34:Leaving! I could of stayed a month.

Review 35:This hotel is incredible. The views are simply magnificent, the rooms are spacious, the wifi works great, nice bathrooms and comfortable beds. The pool and staff are outstanding. It's the most expensive place in Vang Vieng, but worth every penny. The main part of town is about 15 minute walk, exactly how far away you want to be.

Review 36:Maybe the sound of trucks crossing the river in the mornings? And some staff were not that fluent in English but we didn't have any major inconvenience.

Review 37:We spent our Christmas Eve and Christmas at the hotel and it was absolutely magical. The view we got from the balcony of our room was like if someone have painted a huge canvas right in front of our landscape. We also loved the breakfast buffet. Above all the best thing of this hotel was the bed, we had a hard time waking up in the morning due to the comfy bed.

Review 38:no handshower next to toilet

Review 39:pool area, hotel surroundings and the view, rooms comfy, good restaurant, good staff. i could sit the whole day on the terrace or at the pool and then watch the world go by on the little bridge and river... one of our best stays in six weeks south east asia.

Review 40:Our 'king bed' was two beds pushed together. To make this an amazing hotel it could have a few more facilities.

Review 41:Great hotel, Lovely room, amazing view. We really enjoyed our stay here.

Review 42:It's a little to expensive for what you get.

Review 43:The staff is very helpful. The pool and few is amazing. The rooms are spacious and clean. Wifi is ok. Breakfast is ok but not amazing.

Review 44:restaurant offer for Friday dinner was nothing to eat for 30 dollars towels are old and yellow

Review 45:view friendly and english speaking staff good location

Review 46:There was truely nothing I didn't like about this hotel.

Review 47:This hotel was so incredible everything was perfect. The room the comfort the beds the linen. The way the staff treat you .. The bookings of tours etc.. The manager is so friendly and so kind..The food is amazing wonderful.. great chef.. very nice classy breakfast..

Review 48:Slightly further away from the town centre and it was a bit far for me and my little girl to walk especially at night.

Review 49:The staff who were always wanting to assist..

Review 50:Nothing

Review 51:Its not hard to like everythign about this palce. Location adn view were stunnung, breakfast, which was included in our rate, was excellent and the staff extremlel attentive. Could not fault the hotel. It goes without saying that the susnet views from our balcony were stunning.

Review 52:Food at the restaurant could be improved, however I might have just ordered the wrong thing.

Review 53:Fantastic location with amazing views. Rooms were comfortable with plenty of room. Awesome pool.

Review 54:Staff are nice, polite, patient and helpful, always a lot of smiles. The reception girl took care of my friend's wound getting from cave adventure (dark and too slippery!) Room is clean and big, stylish and neat decoration. Our room has a balcony facing the swimming pool, and it was only 75USD/day! The pool is good enough. Great view at riverside. Few minutes walk from central of town, but the town is tiny so it's nothing. Considering the price and it is a real boutique hotel, everything is just perfect, and it's one of my favourite places to stay after traveling different countries.

Review 55:Leaving

Review 56:Stunning setting with rooms arranged around a beautiful pool beside the river with mountains in the background. Our room had a large balcony overlooking the pool and mountains which was fabulous. Well appointed rooms with lovely Laos furnishings.Lovely buffet breakfast on balcony. We also ate dinner there one evening, the food was lovely, the service was attentive and impeccable. Resort is not right in town (easy 10min walk) which for us was an advantage as the actual town is pretty ordinary.

Review 57:It`s a long list: firs of all Vang Vieng as a city was a tourist trap, overpriced and with little tourists in this period. After driving through the mountains for 8 hours from Luang Prabang we arrived at the hotel. We parked the car, but the chief of the parking area put me to come back and re-arange the car a little bit closer to the only car parked there (from 50cm to 40cm). When we checked out nobody came to help us with the luggages. Don`t go to Vang Vieng, it`s a waste of time and money. If you insist, at least you can choose this hotel, at least it`s clean and nice. I almost forgot, one more thing: they had bikes, but they were not included in the overpriced room package of 120$. You needed to pay 6-7$ per bike. I felt very offended, this is not an attitude for a 5 star hotel.

Review 58:The place is very nice as a hotel. The restaurant of the hotel is ok, and food is good.

Review 59:Regarding the price, the hotel should rent out bikes for free, so walk up to the road, there is a good renting place, with brand new bikes! In the rainy season, there is hardly nothing to do in the surrounding, and Vang Vieng itself is of little interest.

Review 60:Nice place, good breakfast, clean and comfortable rooms. Nice to have a comfortable hotel in rainy season.

Review 61:Staff were excellent - friendly, helpful, insightful. Excellent. The wifi *actually* worked and was quick. The food offers plenty of options for folks of different tastes and delicious. It's close to many amenities and a short walk into the heart of town (though you can walk up the street for coffee/food). The rooms are comfortable and well appointed, and the views are breath-taking.

Review 62:Excellent staff, lovely room and pretty property with great views

Review 63:Surrounding environment

Review 64:Staff friendly Food quality

Review 65:All acceptable and polite but nobody went the extra mile

Review 66:Nothing at all!!!

Review 67:Love the location. The room is very clean and comfortable.

Review 68:Bit pricy compared to value for money one can get in Laos

Review 69:View from room

Review 70:can't think of anything wrong

Review 71:staff (perfect english and service provided), view on the river, swimming pool, breakfast, organization

Review 72:Vegetarian options in the restaurant were disappointing but apart from that - really lovely stay, great staff, lovely room

Review 73:Too much expncive for nothing more 10.000 thb for nothing

Review 74:Big room

Review 75:Amazing location and lovely staff.

Review 76:Very good service. Fast and friendly.ngreat views. Good Restaurant. Nice pool.

Review 77:Cleanliness, efficient and comfortable with in a short stroll to the main centre of town.

Review 78:Location on the river is perfect and such an amazing view to wake up to each morning, staff were extremely helpful and service was great

Review 79:Not a single thing

Review 80:Excellent staff, service, location, room, cleanliness, view, food and drink. Could not fault anything!

Review 81:a bit far from center but it's also far from noise

Review 82:Awesome atmosphere, view, swimming pool! Liked everything!

Review 83:Beautiful hotel on the beautiful river. Fun outdoor activities to do in the area.

Review 84:Fast wifi, but in our room (LL3) weak signal

Review 85:Everything about the hotel and restaurant.

Review 86:Tiny moan -we would have liked more coffee in room, but we only had to ask and we received more!

Review 87:Everything really! The pool was especially good.

Review 88:staff very helpfull with ongoing transport

Review 89:Noise of unattended children.

Review 90:Service, food, room, setting etc

Review 91:We loved our stay at Riverside. Great view and comfortable bed!

Review 92:Stunnig Views

Review 93:The use of bikes should be complimentary but this is a small point.

Review 94:Everything. It is a beautiful small hotel witha perfect location.

Review 95:- Wifi coverage somewhat spotty

Review 96:- Fantastic location at the river - New hotel - Good restaurant but limited choice of dishes - Very friendly staff

Review 97:No where to sit in the evening as bar was closed

Review 98:Service was great Waking up to a view like that stunning

Review 99:Charging for bike hire!

Review 100:Location excellent, good buffet breakfast, nice pool, comfortable well equipped rooms and helpful staff.

Review 101:The peaceful atmosphere surrounded by unbelievably spectacular scenery, excellent value for money.

Review 102:cost little high

Review 103:closer to center of town great staff good food

Review 104:Absolutely nothing

Review 105:Probably one of the best hotels in Laos, beautiful views from swimming pool and balcony. excellent staff. gorgeous

Review 106:5 * hotel definitive over rated. Max 3* Hotel functional, pool is small. Breakfast limited

Review 107:Personal , view

Review 108:Stunning location, lovely garden with lots of butterflies & pool.

Review 109:The price is a bit too high compare to others, but it's worth to pay somehow

Review 110:Accomodation and services are so great

Review 111:Water wasn't very clean. Breakfast was a bit too focused on western and Chinese dishes. No Lao food. Swimming pool wasn't very clean. Staff had a limited understanding of English.

Review 112:Good value for money. Location was good. Very quiet. Wifi worked very good.

Review 113:ALL Room:twin comfy beds, clean...excellent bathroom Swimming pool:stunning view Check in-out: efficient Breakfast: very good coffee and croissants. Not so many fruits tho

Review 114:Not a single thing. This was amazing

Review 115:Fantastic staff, amazing location. I wouldn't have stayed anywhere else in Vang Vieng, this is the best of the best.

Review 116:Not much to complain about: the wifi was, at times, sporadic, but it usually functioned well enough. This is, Laos, after all...

Review 117:The view from room LL8 was awesome. Staff was polite and helpful without being overbearing. Lovely textiles in the room.

Review 118:There are no complaints!

Review 119:The resort is first class and the staff are extremely accommodating and polite. We would highly recommend this facility. We stayed in the Yao Suite for ten nights so we had ample time to settle in and enjoy the experience.

Review 120:Stunning location. If you wanted to you could just sit by the pool, look at the sunset behind the mountains and watch local life crossing the bridge. Good restaurant.

Review 121:nothing !

Review 122:This seems definitely the best place to enjoy the magic landscape of V V, particularly our room LL8 is THE place to take THE Picture !! Good food good service nice staff

Review 123:Hotel structure not very original or interesting with rooms all facing inwards over the pool. Rooms OK but nothing special.

Review 124:Well located right on the Mekong but away from the hectic night activities in Vang Viene. Breakfast good. Nice staff.

Review 125:dont wanna say its a big problem, but if they can hire a better chef (maybe a chinese? lol), it'll be perfect

Review 126:everything is wonderful, friendly staff, good room, nice view. what's the most important? not too many people there, very spacious and quiet in the hotel. i'll c it as the best hotel in the area.

Review 127:Why do the receptionists have to stand up everytime a guest walks through the reception area? It seemed rather unnecessary, a friendly Sabaidee would be enough.

Review 128:Great views from the hotel grounds and our room balcony of the river, bridge and mountains. Excellent breakfast. Friendly staff. Very comfortable beds. We enjoyed our 3 days of luxury.

Review 129:Hard beds, noisy Chinese and Korean guests (hotels really need to do some orientation for them when they arrive and explain that shouting across the gardens at 6am is considered antisocial by other cultures).

Review 130:Quite luxurious, well maintained, clean, large rooms, excellent staff, lovely setting by the river, very short walk into town, decent breakfast
