Reviews for Convento Senhora da Vitória

Review 1:The convento de St Victoria is an amazing historical building. The decoration, the location, the hospitality of the owner, joao, got top marks from me. It was like staying in a magical place. The bedroom was spacious and comfortable. The attention to detail in every aspect, from the decoration to the breakfast, etc made this one of the most memorable places to stay. Looking forward to going back again soon.

Review 2:The fantastic ambience, décor, and artwork, melded with the sense of being immersed in the ancient fabric of an historic building, made this stay the highlight of our trip to Portugal. We chose the shared bathroom option which was one of the ex monks cells up several flights of ancient stone stairs, the bed was super comfortable and although there is little room for little else in these cells, it only adds to the feeling of being immersed in history. In the morning we walked up to view parts of the Castillo de vide that we had missed the night before, and wishing we had more time and could stay another night or two, we arrived back at the Convent to a fabulous array of traditional Portuguese breakfast delights. What an amazing experience, we will be crowing about this place every chance we get.

Review 3:I really enjoyed the stay at the Convento and can recommend it whit out any doubt. The building, its surroundings and decoration, the breakfast, the hosts: everything was fantastic and the next time I'll come to Castelo de Vide it won't only be for the village but for the Convento!

Review 4:no sign ourside, so it was difficult to find. No window in the room.

Review 5:Great sitting areas in the garden. Beautiful Illumination in the evening. Lovely living rooms. Beautiful furniture. Tasty house-liquer. Fantastic breakfast. Very friendly people. Perfect stay!

Review 6:Two single beds pushed together are never as good as a proper double bed, especially if there is a wooden divide down the middle. Also a fan would have helped as it was really hot. We knew when we booked it that there was no toilet in the room, but the trip to the shared toilet during the night was a bit tricky down a corridor and a few uneven steps, especially since one of them didn't lock properly! The filter on the pool wasn't running yet, but I'm sure it will be great when it is.

Review 7:This place had only opened a couple of weeks before our stay, and it is going to be amazing, but a couple of details need ironing out. However the converted building, the design touches and the garden are fantastic. Our room had a spectacular terrace, but be aware it does not have its own toilet, so you have to use a shared one. The service from the staff was also amazing, and they produced a really lovely and amazing value dinner served in a wonderful setting outside in the garden.

Review 8:WiFi had some troubles.

Review 9:The hotel is located right next to the city centre. The owner, an architect, renovated the former convent and garden and turned it into a beautiful, colorful and intriguing place with lots of designer furniture, vintage elements and artwork. The swimming pool is an artwork on its own. Staff was very friendly and did everything that we could have wished for. The room was huge, with a private bathroom that contained a bath with a view to die for. We slept like babies due to the silence of the place. Breakfast was by far the best one we had in Portugal. Fresh orange juice, fresh bread, cake and cookies, fresh fruit and lots more.
