Reviews for Villa Vang Vieng Riverside
Review 1:Room was very old, small even for two without closet, but with bathroom stinks badly or electric light out of order. When complained, they don't seem to have flexibility to please guest but to give the secluded room.
Review 2:Wide and exotic front yard and garden view with great night view with stars watching.
Review 3:Have to ask to have your room cleaned which takes quite a while. Breakfast very basic and nor varied.
Review 4:Quiet outside party center but within easy walking distance. Beautiful view on river, mountains and activity on nearby bridge from bungalows and swimming pool. Clean pool though chilly at this time of the year.
Review 5:For what we were paying, the room really wasn't up to scratch. The shower didn't properly work, nor did the air con. The windows were filthy. It was really dingy and a bit run down. The reception actually looked like a nicer place to sleep. The inside lock didn't work on our door. We had cold showers 2 mornings running. When j asked a member of staff about it, he did come to have a look but just said the water supply must have run out. (We had been up showering at 8am) After travelling Thailand and Laos we thought we'd treat ourselves to three nights here but we've stayed in nicer hostels for a fraction of the price. My advice - stay somewhere close by and use their pool (30k kip for outsiders). The staff were not very helpful at all and when we came to check in, the receptionist said to come back at 1 (fair enough - it was the original check in time). We went back at 1 and she said we needed to come back at 2. I don't think that many people were staying as we would often go to the restaurant and be the only ones, as well as seeing bored staff asleep behind the bar. No one ever seemed present at the spa. I thought there might be a price list in our room but there was nothing so I asked at reception and he just said "No". After asking repeatedly, he said you pay hourly. I gave up and went elsewhere. Honestly not worth it at all.
Review 6:The pool, grounds, restaurant, view are all great. It looks lovely and the pool was quiet.
Review 7:Calling this a "resort" is a joke ! Room have no space to open a suitcase (or backpack) nor to hang a shirt. No drawers, either. Parts of the wooden constructions are falling appart. Literally.
Review 8:We had no wifi in our room, the staff were not helpful and have very limited English and knowledge about the area. There were holes above and below our front door so we had mosquitoes everywhere.
Review 9:This place is definitely not worth the money. The only nice thing I can say is the breakfast was good
Review 10:Very poor standard rooms for the price paid with no space to unpack. Repairs needed on villa steps and pool side. Our property was water damaged by a faulty air con unit and we received a very poor response from staff, no apology or compensation/refund for damage or inconvenience caused. Breakfast options limited in comparison to other places. There are much better value places in Vang Vieng.
Review 11:The location and the grounds are great, the staff serving breakfast were very helpful despite the language barrier.
Review 12:Would not recommend to stay if you like being close to the center of town! Long walk ,too far out ! can find better places on the river for half the price! This hotel was very overpriced . Tv has the poorest signal . We were very disappointed ! Stayed for 3 days no fresh towels !
Review 13:The breakfast was nice and lovely view from the restaurant . Garden is well looked after and lovely pool .
Review 14:The fact that you had to ask to have your room serviced, and the Large Korean groups who wandered around at 4am and banged doors and partied and kept everyone awake all night, the third night we spoke to staff and said we would call the police if they didnot tell these people to be quiet in the middle of the night as they woke other residents as well. They should have staff doing security at night
Review 15:The view
Review 16:A bit run down (but clean) and I can see noise being a problem if you don't sleep well. Staff should clean every day unless the do not disturb sign is there. Massage in the spa was not worth the money at all.
Review 17:The rooms are cute and the beds comfortable. The pool is nice and it is very chilled. The breakfast is ok and coffee strong. The staff were friendly enough and did make us breakfast one morning especially as we were a bit late.
Review 18:The sunbeds are very uncomfortable. The restaurant staff seem very confused. There are no safes in rooms and if you leave valuables at reception they just lock them in a drawer.
Review 19:Location we had the riverside bungalows. With the Riverside bungalows, you look directly over the river to the mountains. The sun sets in front of you. You can have your breakfast outside or undercover looking at the views. It is not right in town (which is a plus) but only a 10 mins walk.Reception staff really helpful and cheery/ The grounds are kept immaculate and are beautiful.
Review 20:Breakfast isok and good, but nothing was warm (except tea/coffee)
Review 21:The location along the river is just perfect, staff is very nice and helpful, room is standard but ok
Review 22:No wifi in the rooms and our neighbours walked across our terrace towards the restaurant - not appreciated!!
Review 23:The bed was comfortable, roomy and the view from it out over the river to the mountains fantastic.
Review 24:1. Breakfast Breakfast was ok but food was not refilled quickly. Also, there were not many choices for drink. 2. Water of Pool It the water is a little warmer in the pool, it would be great!
Review 25:1. Great view It was awesome when I saw Nam Song River just in front of my room in the morning and night. I've never seen any other hotel which has this close river view from the room. 2. Outside pool Swimming pool was very good even though it was a little cold. 3. Location It was a little away from the center but it take less than 10 minutes by walk to every spot. Also, it is very easy to move to Blue Ragoon from hotel.
Review 26:Difficult to find. Google map useless ! Hotel sign is off the main road and obscured by trees. Staff in reception completely bland and unwelcoming. Lighting level in bedrooms - poor; in bathrooms - terrible !
Review 27:Position adjacent to river is stunning, but a little bit on the edge of the town. Site well laid out, not overcrowded with buildings. Nice swimming pool.
Review 28:very uncomfortable bed, could feel the feather in my back. Water in bathroom not clean. W-Lan does not work in room. Staff not friendly. Overpriced
Review 29:location near reaver
Review 30:Often there was no one in the reception, some of the staff were not service minded at all, the hotel restaurant had expensive food of poor quality.
Review 31:Beautiful location
Review 32:Staff is very kind
Review 33:No water complimentary on 2nd night.
Review 34:great location and private
Review 35:The water pressure is low for sometime
Review 36:Nice view
Review 37:No Clean room service. Tons of dust in room. Stuck bath tub. The perfect place to ruin a vacation.
Review 38:블루라군 접근성
Review 39:Bed , lighting , wi fi ,
Review 40:Location , price
Review 41:The room is not so clean have some dust.
Review 42:The River, View and Weather. Breakfast area is nice.
Review 43:Friendly people
Review 44:Rooms are too small and it is not clean and price is more expensive than it should be
Review 45:I like views of the hotels
Review 46:So far from town and lot of dust
Review 47:I like view
Review 48:Breakfast
Review 49:Pool and hang out Riverside view Comfort
Review 50:River view
Review 51:a bit noisy, room 02 is just next to road
Review 52:room and location is nice
Review 53:Wifi unavailable from the room.
Review 54:Location Cleanliness Kind staff Nice breakfast Swimming pool View of the river
Review 55:Lukewarm breakfast Disappointing dinner menu Sheets not changed daily unless asked for
Review 56:Great pool. Beautiful setting Close to town
Review 57:Dirty windows
Review 58:The location
Review 59:Breakfast Staff
Review 60:Nice and beautiful place with a nice garden and swimming pool
Review 61:Electric off when we rest here, the water come around midnight.
Review 62:I love location and riverview.Wifi I got it only at restaurants.Clean and comfort giant rest room (equal bedroom).
Review 63:There's no wifi in rooms, only at the reception. The breakfast is very small and limited choice. You can only choose Baguette (but it'll come as a regular toast) with eggs or noodle (which is an instant noodle!) or porridge so don't expect much for breakfast. The fruits that came with the breakfast is okay though.
Review 64:Classic and more traditional rooms than other hotels. The river view is very beautiful. The staffs are very nice. Small swimming pool is decent.
Review 65:Owner wanted to charge extra for 2 children when the room had bed that can be shared. List because we booked it through booking.con, he was not accommodating at all. He wanted to make money in every way. I will never go back to this hotel.
Review 66:Online should be a better listing. Owner was very rude and not accommodating. Picture of room look so big but inside the room itself was really small. Owner was asking for more money even children that can share a twin size bed.
Review 67:I found broken Styrofoam by the pool. no one would clean it, so I picked it up and left it by the restaurant. it took more than an hours for passing by staff to pick it up. lack of ownership perhaps!!!
Review 68:the overall design of the premises is great. the architecture is very respectful of traditional Lao homes. the food was good and attention from staff. the views and access to the river are excellent.
Review 69:We had issues with our stay there! The proerty is very nice, location is fabulous, just in front of the river and mountains. The pool is very nice, it is so great to have a swim with the such fabuluous views! BUT: on the reception staff is very rude and unpolite. We just enter and the girls without sayng even helo, ask us to pay for the room, without even knowing which room we booked, they mass up our hotel booking, we booked rooms with the river view and they gave us rooms close to the parking and reception, which was not nice of them, when my husband tryed to talk to them, they sad if we want we take if no we can go:)):):Nice:)):):We didnt had option, because we drove from Vientiane with the mom in law which is 78 years old.Rooms are very dirty and outdated, needed renovation and deep clean. Next surprise was waiting us in the restaurant, very-very-very poor service, staff dont speak english at all, they dont understand what you want, we were waiting at list 20 minutes till somebody will come and take our order and after another 50 minutes for our food( we were 3, so all dishes arrived in different time, so we were waiting one by one), no napkins, folks, knifes with it, so we were waiting again till they bring it. staff dont really care of customers, they behave very noisy, laughing between them, eating in front of the guests( so if you need something you need to disturb them from eating). Breakfast very poor: nesface in the pack, sausages, eggs, stemed rice with vegetables, fruits, bread, butter. Restaurant is a nightmare, but the food we had for dinner was very tasty!!! This place can be much better, as a paradise place, but the management should make some efforts in training staff to some hospitality basics. With the best regards and hope, i wish i progress and succses to this place.
Review 70:facilities like dressing tea coffee making luggage rack was absent. No lunch available at 2 pm. Service poor though the attitude was good.
Review 71:The Location and the swimming Pool.
Review 72:When we checked in customer service was bad. The staff didn't smile and I felt that they were thinking go away, we don't want you to stay here. How can they be so unhappy there! The hotel needs updating and I think it was too expensive.
Review 73:The pool area was nice and also the view on the river. Breakfast buffet was good, fresh bread every morning.
Review 74:Staff are not very good in English. We booked 3 garden view room & 1 riverside room. Upon checked-in, the receptionist gave us 2 riverside room & 2 garden view room. We took the room key & checked in to our rooms without any query (assuming their garden view room must be fully occupied, that's why they upgraded 1 of the garden view room to riverside room). In the evening, when we made payment for the hotel, the receptionist charged us more on the bill because of the 2nd riverside view room. I explained to the receptionist that we didn't ask for upgrade, it was the afternoon shift receptionist passed us the key without mentioning extra charges. Then the staff said:" if you don't want to pay extra, you can move to the garden view room now''. We had checked in for over 4 hours and settled in & she asked my friend to move out from the room!! This was totally unacceptable. Anyway, at the end my friend paid another extra USD $50 for 2 nights stay at the river view room.
Review 75:Nothing to complain.
Review 76:Very nice resort in a beautiful environment. Good breakfast, good restaurant with great view to river and mountains. Very nice and helpful staff.
Review 77:Rooms are small, old, walls paper thin so very noisy, bathrooms need updating, very poor lighting. We had a pressure pump near our room that went on and off continuously through the night so no sleep at all. Breakfast good selection but everything was cold. No heating to any of the Bain Marie's.
Review 78:Lovely location on the river bank, beautiful gardens and views of the mountains.
Review 79:Staff extremely unhelpful and rude Cutting down massive trees during stay with chain saws Food not at all acceptable
Review 80:Has potential to be a good hotel but few things let it down during my hotel
Review 81:The standard rooms were quite small and my bed was really uncomfortable - the mattress was too old.
Review 82:Great location with a beautiful views on the river. The garden and pool are great, wasn't busy at all. The food in the restaurant was one of the best we had in Vang Vieng. Used the spa and it was really relaxing after a day activities.
Review 83:Highly unprofessional staff. From checking in to asking questions about local activities, breakfast service, and checking out, the staff showed little interest, enthusiasm, or professionalism in their work. We weren't snobs looking for outstanding service, the place just lacked the basics given the price we paid.
Review 84:absolutely amazing side of Vang Vieng, beautiful villas with incredible views.
Review 85:The service and staff (kind of paralyzed and does not speak English). The breakfast food was systematically cold. Very poor light in the bungalows and lack of basic furnitures and facilities (e.g. locker). Bungalows at the rear have a direct view on... the bed(s) of the next room.
Review 86:Location, restaurant with the view on the river, nice garden.
Review 87:staff badly organized, no sufficient language competence, no significant guidance of the whole, who/where is the ownership?
Review 88:Location, swimming pool, restaurant wonderful.
Review 89:The room needed a lick of paint and there were a lot of cobwebs. There was a 1.5 " gap under the door so plenty of mosquitoes got in to the room plus the biggest spider I've come across! The staff sorted it out quickly though.
Review 90:Phenomenal views from the restaurant, a nice swimming pool and finely manicured gardens.
Review 91:Popular with Chinese tour groups.
Review 92:The swimming pool is the highlight of this hotel. Short distance frommain town aprox 10 min walk max!! Our room had broken aircon and no doorlock and we were switched to a new room immediately.
Review 93:Staff stole money from my zipped bag luggage from inside myroom, musthappen frequently since they have huge signs posted not responsible andno safe box besides reception, and beds were very hard, worst stay ever!It is outside of main town and overpriced, stayelsewhere
Review 94:Grounds and pool
Review 95:The rooms have a bad construction finish, are very small and look old. Also the baths are in bad conditions.
Review 96:The hotel outside is not bad, has gardens well maintained, and clean pool
Review 97:Overpriced, location too far from centre (now there is no party in central Vang Vieng it would be better to be closer), noise from Asian party across river from hotel late at night, curtains do not block light at all, gaps in floor and door to let mozzies in, restuarant was closed at 8pm and never seemed to have people about. Outside people can pay to use pool, which means it can get busy. Noises early in the morning from next door and the hotel itself, including mowing the lawn at 8am. English spoken not that great - people in town much better. Breakfast finishes at 9.30am. Not at all a relaxing place to stay which is a shame given how good it should be.
Review 98:Bathroom was good. Garden looked nice, pool was great and open til 8pm. Views including at breakfast wonderful. As restuarant was not open, you could buy a beer from outside and take it to the seating with river view
Review 99:Friday and Saturday nights the pool packed out with locals partying and letting their children run wild.
Review 100:Nice relaxing location not too far from town. Private lanai overlooking garden, pool, and mountain on each villa.
Review 101:The a/c is rather warm. I think, it is because of the construction of the ceiling where there is too much vent.
Review 102:The amenities are ok. Swimming pool, all right for a small facility. I like the choices provided in the buffet, where there are both tall and short glasses, 2 sizes of coffee cups, etc.
Review 103:Unfortunately, some important things were missing :1) No fridge : In this kind of hotel, you just expect that kind of device 2 ) Internet no powerful enough to reach my bungalow, a big problem for me as I have to go often online. Though, sometimes it was available in the bathroom. 3 ) Be EXTREMLY CAREFUL when you walk on the wooden floor in front of the pool's shower. It could break anytime. It's really difficult to understand why they didn't replace it yet. With all these problems, at the end it's a 7 / 10 hotel, but if they'd fix all it'd be easily a 9/10. Better they raise the daily price up 2 dollars and have a perfect service.
Review 104:The location is simply amazing. Just at the river next to the tollbridge, little but nice pool. The decoration is simple but wonderful, alittle haven of peace.
Review 105:1. Wifi only viable near reception. 2. Rooms should have a fridge. 3. Breakfast OK only. 4. Door scrapped against floorboards (noisily).
Review 106:Very good views.
Review 107:No hot water when we stayed ! Very simple tools but very nice.
Review 108:The place ! The architecture of the bungalows, the beautiful gardensand swimming pool. The magnificent view on thé river and mountains.Quiet place !
Review 109:Lighting in room and bathroom very dim and there are one or two faults that could be found but overall good value for money. Overheard some guests complaining about noise from nearby bar but did not bother us located nearer the river
Review 110:The hotel is in an excellent location away from but within walking distance of the town which is not at all attractive. Pool and restaurant areas were particularly pleasant with excellent sunset views. Staff v helpful. Enjoyed both meals in restaurant. Glad we paid a little extra to stay here and not in the town
Review 111:The breakfast buffet was average, and the bacon was always chewy and cold, we've stayed at many hotels on our trip that have a staff member cooking the eggs fresh on the spot, that is better. The internet never seemed to work for longer than 10mins before dropping out or just not connect at all, the connection was slow and this frustrated us a lot. Also the large beerlao bottles weren't cold enough, however the smaller ones were perfect
Review 112:We loved the room design, the view from rooms and the location. The pool was beautiful and the staff members were really friendly
Review 113:Ditto some of your most negative reviews, everything about the garden view bungalows does not work...the price is too high for the low quality of the rooms.
Review 114:The view from the bar/deck/restaurant....
Review 115:poor breakfast, a bit overpriced
Review 116:good location - on the riverside, 5 min walking from the center. nice swimming-pool
Review 117:- Service was lousy, except for one very friendly waiter - Hotel architecture - Not worth the price
Review 118:- Nice location - Comfortable bed - Pool
Review 119:No fridge very poor wifi most of the staff did not speak english Poor breakfast hot room no fan bad AC
Review 120:Location Design
Review 121:Nobody in the bar to drink something during the day
Review 122:The view The beautiful garden The swimming pool
Review 123:no cushions on lounge chairs at pool spa was too expensive, dont even bother
Review 124:location on the river
Review 125:tv cable wasnt working
Review 126:spectacular view, nice garden, good location, friendly staff
Review 127:Size of room Internet connection very slow
Review 128:Location and view are excellent
Review 129:Staff were very hard to communicate with.didnt feel like they cared much

Review 131:Great location with amazing view of the river and mountains Good vegetarian options at the restaurant Clean pool
Review 132:Nothing!
Review 133:Great retreat in great location! I loved it and I loved the surroundings! Wonderful!
Review 134:Beautiful location. Very nice, individual rooms and nice swimming pool.
Review 135:Walkway to the villa is not paved hence we have to walk through muddy grass to get to the room
Review 136:Breakfast was pretty good
Review 137:Sensational view from riverside bungalow. Looking at bizarre karst formations appear out of cloud, always changing.
Review 138:Couldnt fault it
Review 139:Freindly warm staff who were all very acomodating
Review 140:bed in the standard room was not confortable.
Review 141:peaceful, Nice view on the river, breakfast on the terrace, swimming pool,
