Reviews for Clube do Lago

Review 1:Staff very helpful. A huge praise for the childrens play area!our 20 months old was loving playing there. Its a really great place for families with babies and children.

Review 2:Our apartment was very noisy being situated on the road side of the hotel. So much so that we could not sit on our balcony. Indoor pool only opened fro 11 to 2 during the day when most people had gone to beach or site seeing. It would be good for it to open about 8 am.

Review 3:Staff were very friendly

Review 4:No major complaints save for: the well- equipped kitchen needs an adaptor as there is only ONE outlet for coffee maker, electric kettle, toaster and microwave oven! Unless one has a car, the distance from the center of Estoril is rather inconvenient.

Review 5:We appreciated the friendly welcome and very helpful staff at reception and enjoyed the spacious, comfortable suite in this quiet residential neighbourhood.

Review 6:The furniture and interior are so old it's hard to clean it up properly. Hotel in urgent need of renovation.

Review 7:The breakfast was ok and the staff were nice. The place has a certain charm of the early eighties. A bit like going for a vacation with Grandma

Review 8:Furniture in the room was quite shabby and old. The room constantly had a stale smell which would go away after opening the balcony door, but reappear again as soon as you close it. Breakfast was quite appalling and repetitive, we regretted booking the B&B option - we would've been better off cooking our own breakfast in the room.

Review 9:We chose this hotel primarily because of the proximity of tennis courts, and it served this purpose really wel. We even got tennis lessons with a coach for a very reasonable price. Pool was nice, with enough depth to jump into it. Other than that, we felt unfortunately the hotel is a bit run down...

Review 10:Getting a little bit shabby in places.

Review 11:A very quiet residential location, good restaurant attached, supermarket nearby, short walk to excellent beach, and to public transport. Staff all very pleasant and helpful. Clean, plenty of facilities, very large rooms.

Review 12:Best was that it was up to it´s usual expectations. We also really appreciated the addition of the playroom this year - that was very popular with the childen

Review 13:The mattresses were quite hard not nice and bouncy.

Review 14:The furniture is a bit tired but the cleanliness of this hotel is outstanding, pool and surround brilliant staff very helpful indeed. The only drawback was that the beds were quite hard.

Review 15:Even though a walk from the station was involved we enjoyed the neighbour hood that the hotel was in which reflected on the chilled feel about the hotel, the staff were friendly and helpful.

Review 16:The Internet was bad---couldn't get done what I needed to for work. Also, no printer access without e-mailing to front desk.

Review 17:The staff couldn't have been more helpful at the front desk as well as the breakfast and bar areas.

Review 18:Wifi not great in the room!!!

Review 19:Accommodation was fabulous, would highly recommend, staff very helpful & friendly. Facilities excellent for children & adults. Beautiful beaches nearby & tasty food too.

Review 20:The WiFi in the room is spotty at best, and horrible at other times. This made it very difficult for work purposes. Also, no availability of a printer, had to e-mail confidential documents to hotel staff to print.

Review 21:The room was quiet, comfortable, and the staff were all very personable.

Review 22:Room was nothing special, average at best, as far as decor. Skid marks on the walls, slow leaking sink and shower. Wi-Fi connection was terrible - disconnected every few minutes, which would have been bad if I really needed it. Bed clunked, and pillows were small and made of what sounded like plastic on the inside.

Review 23:Public areas of the hotel looked nice, but I did not use them. Staff professional and courteous. Good sized room with nice balconies, kitchen well appointed with microwave, stove, oven, coffee machine, fridge, and basic cooking tools and cutlery. Plenty of storage place. Plenty of parking in vicinity. Basic supplies shops (batteries, smokes, even a tailor, which helped me greatly) in the building and a food market, a bank, and pharmacy within comfy walking distance. Reasonable selection of local restaurants within walking distance. Price, as far as my basic comparison indicates, was reasonable compared to other lodging options. It's not really near any tourist hotspots, but this was not a problem for me and in fact I liked the quite evenings better than a constant buzz of cars and people - didn't have any interest to explore the local nightlife.

Review 24:Nothing.

Review 25:Brilliant place to stay near Cascais.Very clean and brilliant facilities.Staff were ALL very polite and helpful nothing was too much. Will be back again.

Review 26:No room service.

Review 27:We came a day late and left a day early, and staff was very helpful in accomodating us. The kitchenette felt almost like a real kitchen, and the room was so good, we've advised our friends to stay at Clube do Lago when they visit.

Review 28:Estoril "sleeping city" in low season. A bit remote fromrestaurants and night life. Car needed for transportation. Spa withindoor pool in poor condition and only open 2-3 hours per day.

Review 29:Very large Suite discounted in low season. Priceworthy buffet breakfast, only 6€. Nice outdoor pool area. Secure parking garage (at extra cost).Modern reception.

Review 30:Kitchen met our needs, we only made breakfast but if eating in more it was on the compact size. Though more than adequate

Review 31:2 bedroom apartment was very spacious and ideal for 4 adults.Good size bedrooms,2 bathrooms and nice lounge/diner.

Review 32:No kids pool and temperature in main pool was very cold. Wouldn't bother me normally but just to make parents aware. Not many places to eat in the vicinity.

Review 33:Lovely spa with really good affordable treatments. Had a 2 bed apartment which was very spacious and well laid out. Really nice bakery on the premises.

Review 34:liked it all!!

Review 35:clean apartment with good quality furniture and fittings comfy bed, nice balcony and pool, only a short walk from main beach and train station

Review 36:Nothing, is very good and we would all go again.

Review 37:Lovely pool, spacious apartment, generally quiet, clean throughout, good staff. Ambience of a nice residential area rather than a hotel or resort area.

Review 38:Room was a bit dated and needed modernised. early morning tennis was a bit annoying, back and forward back and forward, don't think id like that if relaxing at the outdoor pool. Breakfast was acceptable.

Review 39:Club de Logo was a lovely overnight stay. We had travelled far, done some sightseeing so were exhausted, we used the hot tub and the indoor pool both were excellent. Studio was lovely, and a huge balcony with a smashing view of the pool and gardens.

Review 40:It was dirty in our room. Mold in coffee maker and old, very, very old (3 months) boarding passes and some packaging from medicines in the drawer. Baby cot was dirty.

Review 41:Good location. Calm and quiet, close to the nice and inexpensive restaurant. A lot of free parking places. Nice swimming pool.

Review 42:The walk up the hill getting back from the center or the beach ...

Review 43:Nice neighbourhood to get a good night sleep. The appartment and studio were very spacious.

Review 44:Good location, large apartment

Review 45:Choice of music for breakfast was not appropriate for the age group

Review 46:Spacious clean and quiet rooms. The pool area was well maintained and peaceful.

Review 47:The pillows on the beds were too small and lumpy for a goods night sleep.

Review 48:It was a spacious apartment. Short walk to the beach and Cascais square.

Review 49:small twin bed

Review 50:very good for family with children

Review 51:The location is perfect, There were no problems with parking, booking.

Review 52:Big and clean room

Review 53:Very spacious apartment.

Review 54:Nothing to sey

Review 55:Nice place and very silence atmosphere

Review 56:Lovely place

Review 57:Spacious and bright room. Lovely views from the protected balcony. Great breakfast spread.

Review 58:The window and door were not well insulated to noise of cars.

Review 59:Service was very good!

Review 60:In-door pool required hair cap

Review 61:Tennis and outdoor pool, spaciaous appartments

Review 62:staff a little slow to help

Review 63:cheap

Review 64:Quite far away from seaside

Review 65:Breakfast next to the pool, option to prepare smth at the room (coffee, tea)

Review 66:Sheets too small for the bed

Review 67:Fully functioning kitchen. Cot provided. Great location. Great breakfast. Helpful friendly staff.

Review 68:The staff were friendly but not obtrusive, the appartment was very spacious and well equipped.

Review 69:All the equipaments in kitchen are poor and dirt, the homemaker didn't clean correctly. The oven didn't work.

Review 70:price, facilities,

Review 71:No coffee provided in room. May have been in cupboards but didn't find any.

Review 72:Very clean and with excellent facilities

Review 73:Very clean and comfortable hotel with very friendly and helpful staff, would stay here again.

Review 74:Very uncomfortable beds

Review 75:Location Staff Quiet poolside area

Review 76:service kindness of the staff kitchen

Review 77:It was to far from everything, and the hill coming back up to the Hotel was a killer in the heat. The breakfast could have had a little bit of variety, i.e. changing the type of food from day to day. Got very boring after a couple of days. Because of its location they should invest in the sports channels for some entertainment, the bar every evening we stayed was completely empty by 22:00.

Review 78:We liked the room we had and the pool area was lovely. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The facilities of the hotel were very good.

Review 79:We loved this hotel and will definitely return however it is a bit of a walk to the beach. This suited us as we love to walk but may not suit somebody with walking difficulties.

Review 80:Quietness. I asked for quiet room and got one. Staff went beyond the call of duty to look after our every need. Accommodation spotless. daily towel change. Kitchen fully kitted out and everything was in working order. Breakfast was self service and excellent. Reception staff even book a trip to Fatima for us.

Review 81:The location was a little further out than I had expected. Had to be careful of 3 yr old with balcony as she could have easily climbed up onto the railing. Shouldn't have to pay to use pool towels.

Review 82:Spacious and clean two bed apartment which was great with two small children, indoor and outdoor pool plus playroom.

Review 83:Found the beds to be very hard!

Review 84:Great space in the one bedroom apartment. Very well equipped. Close to a supermarket. 2 lovely cafés out at the front of the building. Great for breakfast/lunch. Hotel is in a lovely quiet area about 10 mins walk up hill from the train station. There's an indoor play area for children also. Had a lovely stay. Place was kept very clean.

Review 85:Probably nothing to do with the hotel but the next door tennis courts disturbed the peace sometimes mainly due to a tennis coach with a very loud voice

Review 86:I've been holidaying in the Estoril area for many years and have tried several hotels. This one is the best for minimal traffic noise as this is a problem in some parts of Estoril. The staff were friendly and helpful. The apartment was clean and the kitchen was well equipped although I didn't use it much

Review 87:Parking space nearby on street is often full used.

Review 88:Nice spaceous apartment with balcony. Breakfast ok. The inside pool (belongs to spa-area) is usable 2h during morning and during evening, without extra cost (need to wear bath-cap). Booked additional spa-treatment, which was very good.

Review 89:Breakfast in the hotel was quite poor, but in the restaurant outside the building the choice was much better and the price was the same as at the hotel. Room doesn't have carpet, so crawling baby was cold.

Review 90:Big, well equipped apartmant including kitchen, near train station, beaches, playground, friendly stuff...

Review 91:- the studio has a strange layout. The kitchen/lounge was downstairs and the bedroom was upstairs. There was a very unsual wooden staircase in between the two levels. - wifi only works downstairs. When needing internet, I had to go all the way downstairs to do so. - the bathroom was in a pretty lame state. There are holes that they have tried to fill in the tub. What didn't help is that there was orange water pouring from the shower when I first opened the tap. This was apparently due to water works that were taking place around the hotel. - there is no washing machine. I booked this hotel for a week long stay and a washing machine would have come in handy. - one has to pay to use the safe. One also has to pay to rent a towel for the pool (as it is prohibited to use the hotel towel available in the studios). The pool can only be used free if charge at specific times during the day. Otherwise there is a 15 € charge. - breakfast is the same every day ( and it's not too exciting!)

Review 92:I only booked this hotel because of its location.

Review 93:The pool was very cold The air conditioning doesn't work Paying extra to use a safe that's already in your room!

Review 94:The size of the rooms The facilities

Review 95:the old lift that took ages to arrive when it did arrived and was constantly in pane, what was not a a problem for us because we were only at the 2 floor, never the less, although the emergency exit was always very clear indicated, it took time and we had to search a loot to find the stars down.

Review 96:The size of the room, the breakfast in it self and the ambiance that surround it ( calm, relaxed, efficient and friendly waiters, well decorated, light etc.), the swimming pool,

Review 97:The rooms and installations are a bit dated.

Review 98:The location was great for us as we like walking, not too far from the beach or the main eating area in Cascais. The actual area where the hotel was is beautiful.

Review 99:Hotel was in a residential area and was a bit of a walk down the hill to the beach or into CASCAIS. Kitchen needs updating in the apartment. Not enough beds by the pool for high season.

Review 100:Spacious one bed apartment. Excellent breakfast in the morning with a variety of foods to suit different nationalities. Nice swimming pool. Good staff with information on the area. Quiet area at night. Near buses to visit Sintra. Near enough to train in Estoril to access Lisbon.

Review 101:Rooms could do with updating but perfectly adequate. More variety with breakfast needed. Quite far from beach.

Review 102:Very spacious rooms. Comfortable pool area. Friendly staff.

Review 103:I didn't like the way the staff in the reception behaved. I thinkit was strange that most of them didn't say hello. I didn'tlike the room. The bed was small, the Furniture outdated. The Kitchenshould have been changed years ago. I can't understand that thishotel has 4 stars.

Review 104:The reception area was stylish.

Review 105:Location. Despite good connection, It needs 1 hour in total to reach Lisbon - Cais do Sodre. Not suitable for tourists who plan to spend their time mainly in Lisbon.

Review 106:Friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable and clean.

Review 107:Thai spa (optional facility) seemed to be always closed. Hotel is at top of hill so not suitable for people with mobility problems.

Review 108:Great outdoor pool area, buffet breakfast and main bar. Good sized comfortable rooms and efficient reception and staff.

Review 109:indoor pool open difficult short hours 10-12 and 6-8 not convenient and need swim hats Walk uphill hard in sun but got used to it takes only 10 minutes

Review 110:The spacious rooms and well equipped. It had an electric kettele for tea and microwave. Lovely pool with floats for children. Cool and shady and peaceful set in garden away from roads.Near to supermarket. Indoor jacuzzi and pool. Can get to Lisbon on train 30 mins every 15 mins and station 10 mins away

Review 111:The following are a bit nit-picky: * Hard tiled floor was good for cleanliness and staying cool, but was a worry for the baby. He was fine with it though. *Short of sockets in the kitchen area.

Review 112:The apartment was clean spacious and as described on the website. Pleasant balconies. Stayed cool in hot weather. Staff were friendly and helpful and provided what we needed for the baby (cot + high chair) Nice pool.

Review 113:Walking up the hill from the beach might be a little difficult for children and older people.

Review 114:Well presented hotel with excellent facilities, helpful staff and lovely spa centre. Really enjoyed the combination of self-catering with having my room cleaned every day, and easy access to all hotel facilities.

Review 115:Poor facilities (not a 4 star place as claimed), shower cap was the topof luxury, all a bit dated, especially kitchen. First place we see inPortugal with such unfriendly and incompetent staff. Mediocre location, neither resort, nor city stay

Review 116:Free wifi, size of the appartment (we stayed in 2 bedroom suite), babychair available on request.

Review 117:A very nice hotel. Friendly service, spacy rooms, good English-type breakfast – the coffee was just wonderful as everywhere in Portugal. In March when it wasn’t rely warm our 11 years tweens enjoyed the indoor pool/spa.

Review 118:Sound of Water Feature (fountain) early in the morning - our room was over this feature and was a bit noisy early in the morning.

Review 119:Lovely Hotel, nice facilities, indoor & outdoor pool, spa, free Wi-Fi. Beautiful and cheap "Tea Rooms" and Hairdresser attached to site. Friendly staff. Clean rooms.

Review 120:We booked a double room, upon arrival we were informed there was only a twin available. Arrived at hotel at 12, was told room wasn't ready until 2pm, we arrived back at 1.45pm and felt like receptionist was rude, unhelpfull and felt like she was doing us a hugh favour by checking us in 15min early. No apology was given for unavailable double room. We were advised a double room would be made available but this was never provided nor did any staffmember make the effort to contact us regarding this matter.

Review 121:Big spacious rooms Excellent selection of television channels Nice pool area Access to gym, indoor poool & jacuzzi Excellent bar service

Review 122:Clube do Lago pretends to be a 4 star hotel, but -to be honest- I didexpect a bit more. The bathroom hat a tub which was not in the best condition and some of the tiles appeared to have been broken (tears in it) A bit more decoration in the master bedroom would have been helpful, no decoration at all makes it a bit strange

Review 123:The friendliness of the staff, very helpful and doing everything theycan. The service apartments are spacious and have a good feeling

Review 124:studio apartment kitchen very under-equipped, sufficient only to make a cup of tea or boil a pot of water - although a 4 element cook top was present. A big list of charges for 'extras' - first time I have been charged for a pool towel and there is a E20 deposit. Indoor pool open at limited times and they will sell you a bathing cap

Review 125:parking was OK,

Review 126:Hotel staff spoke very little English and I found it quite difficult tocommunicate with them to determine where nearest bars/resteraunts/trainstation/supermarkets were. Only one snack available poolside (cheese &ham sandwich!) the poolside bar is now closed so you have to use atelephone to call reception staff or go inside to the bar - not greatwhen you've been in the pool and are a bit wet!

Review 127:Clube do Lago had a lovely pool area although quite small, but becauseof the time of year (Sept) it was very quiet so there were no shortageof sunloungers. Rooms were cleaned daily, balcony area was a good sizeand extremely quiet/peaceful.

Review 128:If a visitor had a issue with walking on uphill paths, this may be a problem. The apartments are in Monte Estoril, which is above the sea level. However, this was not a problem for us and we noticed that there were quite a few mature residents in the area, some with walking challenges, and it did not appear to be an issue with them. And while it is uphill on the return journey, it is downhill leaving. There are taxis in Cascais, and the train runs from there to Monte Estoril and Estoril.

Review 129:Clean, well run apartments. Any request we had was met in a professional manner. The reception were very helpful on giving advice on the area. While it is a bit away from centre of activities, there is are a couple of small supermakets and some restaurants and shops nearby. From the apartment, it is approximately a 30 minute walk into Cascais, taken at a leisurely pace, along a pleasant promenade by the sea. It is approximately a 10 minute walk to the train station and into Estoril.

Review 130:We arrived early, however our room was still not ready by 2pm- butotherwise the hotel was perfect.

Review 131:The staff were excellent and very helpful and it was excellentvalue for money. The associated spa was also fantastic and do agreat 50% off deal.

Review 132:Long way from beaches and action. Lots of hills to climb to go anywhere!

Review 133:Staff excellant in every way. Good services and comfort. Perfect food, if expensive for Portugal.

Review 134:The Eggs, bacon and beans were cold on our first morning but they did sort it out once we had pointed it out to them. They say you can only have drinks brought from the pool bar at the pool but it is very difficult to get a drink at the pool as there were no staff manning the pool bar! Swimming pool is deep so if you have small children who can't swim, this could be difficult.

Review 135:Clube do Lago is in a good location. 10 minutes walk to the beach but it is up hill on the way back. The facilities at the hotel are good as there is a tennis court and swimming pool, and free wifi in the reception area. Guests at the hotel also get 50% off some of the treatments at the spa. There is a good restaurant just around the corner of the hotel located in a garden. The reception staff are really helpful. We stayed in a 2 bedroom room which was about 100 m sq. the kitchen also has an oven and dishwasher. The Casino at Estoril is also very close.
