Review 1：Just to improve, only one area if possible to address, is a lock up area or security for motor bike?
Review 2：Friendly manager, good space, bedding, seating and dining area. Good shower, towels etc. Nice and airy with fan.

Review 4：Paul and Sandra were very friendly helpful, House keeping also friendly and helpful. The motel is 15mins walk to town,close to large supermarkets and other amenities. Cleaned everyday,fresh towels etc. Swimming pool small but clean. We used the BBQ which was great.
Review 5：Only stayed two out of three days and paid for 10 people over those three days - only stayed two days with five people so am expecting a refund for the difference, but nothing was said? maybe I should have raised this when leaving?

Review 10：We've stayed here several times and now it's my first place to check availability if we go to Whangarei. The owners are great, and I think that makes all the difference. Free WIFI for the kids, a short walk to the supermarket. Had dinner at Red Pizzeria with extended family - a minute walk across the road, excellent!

Review 12：Had the 2 bedroom unit. Excellent wifi. Acres of space. Very clean and comfortable. Next to small pool and sunbathing area all to ourselves. Friendly owners, good walks a short drive away with excellent Kauri trees. Plenty to do in the area.
Review 13：-It looks very clean, but the blood stains on the blanket is an absolut no go. -Mattress very soft and not stable, so if two people sleep together in a double bed they will most likely be pushed to the middle of the mattress -In Europe a prison cell looks more inviting from the inside. At least you have more space than in a prison cell.

Review 15：Smokers in next door room, sat outside their unit smoking and the smoke blew into our room. Not cool because we are not smokers, and have young children.

Although did not effect us , the policy of charging extra for early access and late departure when available was excessive and out of line with our experience in major motels/hotels in NZ!!

Review 22：We took the 1 bedroom apt, which was quite small, with 2 single beds in the living room. Noise from the adjacent apt was obvious. Anyhow it's reasonable with the price we paid.
Review 23：The location, 2 minutes drive to Countdown & New World, but quiet at night. Parking right in front of our door. Free & strong wifi, even though it's capped, once it reached the limit, we could get from the office extra for free. Lovely host Ms Sandra, whom provide us some tips on things to do in Whangarei.

The unit's internal layout was was well set out and even the tap in the bathroom basin sat high enough for us to easily fill the electric jug (some places you go to have little taps, where you can't get the electric jug under the tap easily).
Review 25：The one bedroom apartment worked well for 3 adults. It was clean & tidy and the staff were friendly. It was close to supermarkets, restaurants and takeaway meal options. Centrally located it made a great place to base ourselves.

Review 28：Paul, in the office, was very friendly and helpful with advice on where to eat nearby and where to visit. The facilities were quite comprehensive, including a fresh bottle of milk, clean towels and cleaning products. Lots of places to eat nearby, although not all open until late.
Review 29：For an older style Motel the room was large and spacious with self contained kitchen but was also close to Restaurants. The manager was friendly and very helpful.
Review 30：The bed was not comfy and there wasn't enough hot water for 2 of us to take a shower. Also could hear all that was happening next door including being woken up at 1.30 in morning by a crying child.

Review 47：the staff were very helpful, respectful and welcoming when i arrived on the friday afternoon, i wasn't sure where they were located. i was very fortunate that i had arrived at the right place. the duty manager was actually expecting me, so everything was sorted very quickly. customer service was excellent, as i have worked in the industry before and know the importance of ensuring guests feel a genuine sense that they are important. i definitely received this attention from the moment i arrived and throughout the duration of my stay. i would recommend Kengsington motel for anyone, and have kept this motel in mind for future visits to whangarei
Review 48：I did not like the fact that there was no light switch over the bed. It can be tricky finding your way in the dark if you need to get up in the night! The loud ticking clock in the kitchen also had to be silenced!!

Review 51：From the second the arrived the staff greater us, gave us a quick low down about the area and where to get a bite to eat and also shops. They helped up use the laundry and went over and beyond duties. Our baby settled nicely into his cot and the room was warm and comfortable that our baby wa happy. The pool was also ggreat. If you do choose to go the the travel across the road I recommend the steak. The atmosphere there is also great and seen plenty of family's there. When we left the staff wished us well and helped us with the roads for the rest of our journey. This place is so great. We all loved it there.

About a 5-7min walk to local Countdown & New World supermarkets. Stayed over on a Saturday night, near the side opposite liquor store so think was little bit of noise coming from the customers there or maybe just a few slightly loud cars? Nonetheless still a great place to stay, big carparks so it's useful for campervans/mini-buses.
