Review 2：Louisa was so hospitable, nothing too much trouble. Felt very much like being part of the family. Breakfast superb quality, cakes to die for, beautiful house and gardens.
Review 3：This was very basic accomodation. We had high expectations because of other reviews and found the room itself, location, and the breakfast disappointing. We were the only guests that night. Breakfast consisted of several very sweet cakes (partially eaten) that were not fresh. Perhaps during the busier season the experience could be better.

Review 9：We were struck by the beauty of the property, the over the top hospitality of our hostess and the comfort of the room. Our hostess did two loads of laundry for us. The breakfast included four kinds of delicious homemade cake.

Review 15：Louisa, the owner of Vila Maria is wonderful! She welcomed us with coffee and a spread of homemade goodies which made us feel immediately at home. Her warmth and friendliness made us feel so welcome! An extra bonus was that she was hosting a huge family dinner that evening and the family insisted we join them. We spent an evening I'll never forget - even without that bonus, I can't recommend more highly!

Review 17：The hostess could not have been more hospitable - nothing was too much trouble. If you want Chic maybe not for you - but if you want friendly, homely service - this is for you. She even offered to iron my husbands shirt - and would not take no for an answer. Lovely lady.
Review 18：The Villa is a home and you are treated like part of the family. Maria is a lovely woman and her home is quaint and her gardens are lovely. The rooms are older of course, but she has TV and beds and bathroom and all is comfortable and bright. Most of all, it is the owner's smile that is welcoming. She does not use credit cards. Her breakfast is all home made and delicious and very plentiful. We recommend it as an experience in a home in Portugal and the home is a nice walk to the town. It is a lovely area and more than one night is recommended.
Review 19：Luisa the owner and Corleone the dog greeted us as if we were family, she went out of her way to make our stay as pleasant as possible. The breakfast was very good and plentiful, from the tasty cakes to the delicious hams, all were made by her. We even got the recipe for a delicious "jewish Cake". The room was great with a nice view of the surroundings. The place is just a ten minutes walk from the town centre. Castelo de Vide is a very charming place to visit with a beautiful castle, quiet streets an interesting "juderia" We enjoyed very much our stay.
Review 20：We Loved everything, the owner was wonderful. She made sure we felt at home and prepared the most delicious cakes and sweets. Everything she baked was from her garden. The place is located a short walk from the Castle and old town.

Review 39：The owner goes out of her way to make your stay as nice as possible. Breakfasts are great (coffee, tea, juice, fruit, homemade breads and pastries, ham, cheese, homemade marmalades)! There is a beautiful outdoor area where you can relax and watch the sunset surrounded by gardens with a nice view of the countryside. Wifi is very strong. Private parking inside the grounds.
Review 40：Where shall I start.... Maria, the owner, is unique, the only way I can describe my stay, is, like going home and being spoilt by your mother. We were treated like VIPS, the room was cosy, clean, homely. The breakfast was lovely, all home made. From the cakes, to the jams, everything is made by Maria at home. She is a trully lovely lady and does everything to insure you have everything you need to enjoy your stay.

The town is easy to walk to, the centre is only a few minutes away. Not a great deal to see in town but we went to Marvao to see the castle, unmissable! Have seen lots of castles on this holiday but this was the most stunning.

Review 47：Vila Maria is a beautiful villa, set on a hillside, with lovely views over the valley and hills beyond. Luisa, our host, was warm and welcoming, and provided for our every need. Our room was very comfortable, the breakfast was plentiful and delicious, and the location was perfect for exploring the area - or for just relaxing.

Review 50：I had such a relaxing stay in Vila Maria, it's a beautiful quiet place with comfortable rooms. It's an easy walk into the centre of Castelo de Vide which is such an amazingly scenic place. The owner was very kind to me and the breakfast was delicious. Like staying in a family home. (a tip- if you want to visit the hilltop church opposite castelo de vide, it's a stunning walk and much easier than it looks! follow one of the paths leading up from the main road) Adorei tudo!
