Reviews for B&B 't Kasteel & 't Koetshuys

Review 1:Very basic facilities - no glasses, only disposable plastic tumblers, small shower gel used on first night but not replenished. Towels old and thin. Very expensive for what was on offer compared to other local B&Bs,

Review 2:Large room, convenient for town centre.

Review 3:Very reluctant to let us into rooms even a few minutes early. Steps dangerous. Six of us traveling together, two of them fell on the stairs.

Review 4:Lovely breakfast.

Review 5:No bad experience

Review 6:delightfully renovated fine house, furnishings comfortable, a quiet place to stay and the breakfast was well served and presented - lovely food

Review 7:Whenever we have been to Veurne we have always had an en-suite bathroom. In this B&B we had a bathroom just down the hallway and when my husband was ill one day it made it awkward for him.

Review 8:The position of the Chateau was good. We were cycling most days and we were able to get onto the canal easily. The Main Square was just around the corner. We had very good breakfasts and the homemade jam was delicious. Thank you Caroline for your kind hospitality.

Review 9:There were lots of steps up to the front door and also to our room. It was very hot and there was no fan. No kettle or coffee making facilities. The toilet was not ensuite.

Review 10:The location with street parking outside. Very good breakfast. Comfortable beds. Super wifi

Review 11:No lift for upper floors, but help given with luggage.

Review 12:Beautiful building, spacious and comfortable rooms with nice toiletries and bath robes/slippers, welcoming and helpful owners, breakfast was delicious and served in a delightful room. Veurne is a lovely little town with lots of great restaurants on the market square, close to the motorway so great for breaking the journey across from England to Germany.

Review 13:Atmosphere. Why should one have to pay for spending the night in luxury ? Ask any of the penitentiaries participating in Veurne's Boet Processie or "Guilt procession" .

Review 14:Hats off to the family that runs the place: they've rescued this outrageously beautiful place, make you welcome and serve up a fab breakfast. Our room on the first room was very spacious and airy. The large, light bathroom was a few steps down the stairs, which may not suit everyone though.

Review 15:The personal touches make the guests feel very welcome. Great and spacious room with private bathroom; full of old world charm. Breakfast consisting of various warm bread rolls fresh out of the oven, cheese, yoghurt, fresh fruit and the possibility of eggs to order was served with a smile. A great way to start the day!

Review 16:Fabulous and interesting property with free parking very close to the town centre. The breakfast was beautifully presented with home-made jams and a selection of rolls and pastries from the family business.

Review 17:We could have used some bedside tables, and somewhere to put the soap in the shower. Overall, it is quite pricey

Review 18:Beautiful house, refurbished with a lot of style, nice pastel colours in the rooms. Excellent breakfast, friendly owner. Great address

Review 19:Constructed from two glorious town houses, knocked together, but not so much as to lose their individual identity, the room lay-out is a little unconventional. Our room was up a short flight of curved wooden stairs, with our shower room and toilet at the foot of these. There was no T.V., which we did not miss, or kettle, which we did.

Review 20:The room was toasty warm, even in damp & misty February. The breakfast was delicious. French toast was cooked specially for us by the daughter of the owners. The B & B is only 5 minutes walk from a pretty town square, lined with restaurants and bars, and is incredibly convenient for the main E40 road from the coastal ports. However it is wonderfully peaceful.

Review 21:Nothing.

Review 22:Two large semi detached houses converted into one very grand house. Beautifully decorated throughout in a shabby chic style, natural floor boards, pale blue washed walls, modern fittings, chandeliers in the 'grand' rooms on the ground floor. Excellent breakfast in candle lit splendour. very welcoming and helpful hosts. Within easy walking distance of everything Veurne has to offer. Free parking outside.

Review 23:Such a friendly welcome and the building and room really was architecturally beautiful. Breakfast was served earlier than usual at our request and was excellent too.

Review 24:Rooms are basic - no bedside table, no headboard, bathroom outdated. First impression is luxurious. But when settling in, you notice the shortcomings: bedlinnen, towels etc not in line with the price level. No duvet, even in summer the nights are cold. Overall, one would expect better finishing level for this price.

Review 25:Great turn of the century building - good potential for a B&B with its natural charm and character

Review 26:Amazing breakfast, and beautiful building but think its a bit pricey given lack of ensuite bathroom. If £10 or so cheaper a night would have had much better feedback but we just felt was slightly overpriced.

Review 27:Co-ed bathrooms shared by all the rooms on the floor. We didn't read this carefully and were surprised.

Review 28:breakfast common areas surrounding area not too far from coast; allowed us to discover new area

Review 29:Leaving!

Review 30:The whole experience was more like staying with old friends rather than my first time staying here. An elegant building with very friendly staff. I also liked how close the building is to the town square which is beautiful and has many great bars and restaurants.

Review 31:A very minor criticism, breakfast is not served until 9am. Although breakfast was worth waiting for.

Review 32:Beautiful room. very spacious.

Review 33:Wonderful hosts. Traditional family run hotel. Brilliant breakfast.

Review 34:Bathroom separated from the bedroom and that was not mentioned at booking.

Review 35:Free parking, free wifi, large room, good breakfast

Review 36:No TV

Review 37:The room, the bed, the homemade jams at breakfast are fantastic

Review 38:No satalite TV . Choice of programs terrible. No tea or coffee making facilities plus other smaller things.

Review 39:Bad connection to the wi fi in the room.

Review 40:Very personal and friendly staff.

Review 41:Very helpful and welcoming

Review 42:Location Breakfast Room Service Decor Parking Ambience

Review 43:If I must put a minus. It would be, nowhere to put the soap in the shower!

Review 44:When our 1 night stay turned into 10 for me due to my wife being rushed into hospital, Caroline & her daughter Julie could'nt have been more helpful & caring. During one of the busiest weekends of the year & being fully booked for the next 2 days, they still made room for me and nothing seemed too much trouble. As for the rooms and the breakfast, they were excellent. We highly recommend it to anyone who wants to spend a few days in Veurne. We definitely intend to go back.

Review 45:The WiFi signal was weak in room 12, but excellent downstairs.

Review 46:We really enjoyed our stay. Julie and her mother were both so kind and helpful to us. The house is just lovely and very comfortable. Breakfasts were excellent. Our room (top floor) had a wonderful, serene view and was very quiet. It was also a spacious room with high ceilings and a comfortable bed. The location was in a quiet area of town but only about a five minute walk from the main (cathedral) square where there were many restaurants.[We particularly liked Brasserie Christophe's fish soup, goat cheese salad, kidney stew and chocolate mousse.]

Review 47:Top floor rooms have a separate bathroom away from the room itself. Please note if you have a disability top floor a definite no no as there is no lift.

Review 48:Very nice house and room. Owner and daughter very helpful and very willing to oblige. Breakfast very good also.

Review 49:A kettle in the room and upgraded towels would be a welcome touch. Not sure about the other rooms but a flat screen TV would really excel against other B&B's.

Review 50:You feel like you are part of the extended family whilst also having your own space to privately enjoy your stay. Breakfast was refreshing not to be presented with the standard bland buffet. Would recommend

Review 51:We were puffing a bit by the time we got to our room on the fourth floor! Next time we will ask for a room lower down

Review 52:Interesting building and right beside the historic centre, within walking distance of the main square, Very pleasant and welcoming family owners Lovely breakfast Useful parking

Review 53:The hotel is a wonderful old building with plenty of character and charm. When we stayed the weather was very warm and breakfast on the terrace was a real treat. The owners were very freindly and helpful too.

Review 54:I thought the price a little high.WI -FI didnot work in the bedrooms

Review 55:The staff & owners were excellent.Julie was V.Very helpfull The breakfast is just what I expect in Belgium

Review 56:would like to be able to make tea in my room - probably an English thing to have tea in bed!!

Review 57:Loved the Castle, the people and am amazed at what has been achieved with the renovations. Owners are truly committed and deserve to do well.

Review 58:There were no refreshment facilities in the room ie kettle, tea, coffee or bottled water.

Review 59:Very helpful, very friendly the room was large and clean the location was excellent for walking/shopping/exploring further afield and only a short drive to the port of Dunkirk. The architecture is fabulous and is a privilege to see and stay in this beautiful building. We would not hesitate to use this accommodation again.

Review 60:It should have been indicated more clearly on booking.com that the Sauna / wellness area is available for individual booking at quite high price (77 Euro) and that there are no TVs in the rooms.

Review 61:The house has a lot of charm and the rooms are very nicely decorated. The breakfast was excellent and the owners were very friendly.

Review 62:Beautiful building and gorgeous interior design, made for a relaxing and luxurious stay. Close to the town centre and the Ghent-Wevelgem route!! Friendly and helpful family staff. We stayed with a 2 year old and they were very accommodating. Breakfast was an absolute pleasure including the "crumbled" eggs!!

Review 63:Would like a soap dish in the shower, that's all ...

Review 64:Warm welcome, comfortable bed, good breakfast and lovely house in beautiful surroundings.

Review 65:Didn't get wifi in our room. Bathroom were seperate from our room.

Review 66:Lovely building and rooms. Close to town and station. Lovely garden and views.

Review 67:The history of the house and the town.

Review 68:friendly helpful staff, beautiful surroundings, amazing food couldnt fault in any way exceptional

Review 69:The breakfast was good but we were offered eggs and ham after we finished our breakfast

Review 70:The atmosphere of an old castle, spacy rooms
