Reviews for Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya Resort & Spa

Review 1:No intranet access, charge for the WiFi problems with booking on arrival( was quick resolved by staff for extra fee, could be part of my mistake, look at the fine print and read all contract before you go)Most attraction in Mexico are expensive. Problems with car rental, you have the option to take shuttles

Review 2:Very friendly staff. Wild raccoon running around property and climbing the trees. Nice bay area with a lot of fish, good snorkeling, and few good swimming pools, lazy river. Inside the resort is dolphin discovery where you can swim with them (this will cost you extra, my wife has done and had a lot of fun) Close to other attraction like Tulum or Xcaret . We recommend it to all which would like to spending time actively.

Review 3:Although this was an all inclusive resort, the food was mediocre and adult beverages were so terrible that over a 4 day period I drank 2 glasses of wine. Everything else was made wrong, used ingredients that were not supposed to be used and bartenders were rude.

Review 4:Above everything else that was a little disappointing, the staff was fantastic. Always willing to help in anyway they could.

Review 5:Where to start........I have stayed at better 2 star hotels than this. We upgraded paying yet more money for a run down and dirty room. The fridge was broken with previous guests goods inside, the elevator was like something from an abandoned building, the toilet didn't work, the door didn't lock, the mattress was dirty and old and they had put a mattress topper on it to disguise this. The drinks are a joke, cheap, nasty and not worth the bottles they are in. They are money grabbers as they pressure you to upgrade and pay for this as well as things like paying for wifi and paying to weigh your luggage on departure. Should've stayed 10 days and ended up staying only 1 it was so bad. This hotel may have been nice in the 70's but..... It's a dive now.

Review 6:The ocean - which doesn't belong to the hotel!

Review 7:Beach is pretty bad. They have a seasonal seaweed problem, but I am not talking about that. Beach is small for such a large resort. Erosion has created a 3 foot cliff of sand you have to climb. Years ago it was a beautiful spot. Not as much anymore. Pool by the Cajun restaurant was a little dirty too. Swim up bar...I don't even want to think about what people do.

Review 8:Great staff. Good restaurants. Fun times. In spite of the negatives, we had a very fun vacation. This was our third trip to that resort.

Review 9:The option for restaurant booking was ver limited. We couldn't get into the ones we really wanted. The beach was awful and that's why we wanted to go there. It was extremely disappointing

Review 10:Staff was just lovely. Great staff from moment you get there till the leave u at your room. Extremely nice and helpful. Rooms are very clean.

Review 11:The beach is dirty. In the sand stubs , tubes of cocktails . Bartenders sometimes arrogant, demanding a tip :)

Review 12:Memorized swimming underwater . You can see the beautiful fish and turtles and all near the beach.

Review 13:the buffets were not as I expected, except in the main restaurant, but it was quite far from our room, and the buses are not always available to carry people as they said

Review 14:the staff, especially the concierge were really good

Review 15:You are treated differently depending on who you booked through. Members are treated like gold and get treated better than other customers. Booking.com (which I was) was treated nice - I was with members so I got to know several staff. RCI members are not treated well. My son was booked through RCI and his reservation got canceled with no notice. Check in staff did not treat him well and would not talk with him. RCI refused to return our money. Luckily my friends were members and able to get him a room. Beware RCI members.

Review 16:Once you are in the facility, staff are very professional, friendly, and amazing and the facilities are clean and well cared for.

Review 17:Very attentive staff. All needs addressed promptly and courteously.

Review 18:Paid WiFi is expensive beach is full of algae not like in pictures....

Review 19:Animation and food

Review 20:Not much night life in the resort

Review 21:Pools, food, staff, cleanliness all great

Review 22:we have to pay for wifi!

Review 23:Beautiful resort . Beautiful location and beach . Friendly and helpful . Good food and lots of choice . advised

Review 24:Terrible food Poor staff

Review 25:Nothing

Review 26:The beach and animacion superman, all the crew members very professional .

Review 27:They make difference between members and non members across the resort. Concierge is not as much helpful, couldn't make a car rental on sunday!!!

Review 28:It has an excellent spa, with different kind of pools, baths, jacuzzi, sauna and excellent massages. The beach is excellent if you don't want to get out of the hotel

Review 29:The room was stinking smoke for the entire stay. No possibility to move to another room. Staff not helpful and not well trained and they showed not to be informed about just anything. Restaurants booking system made it impossible to use the service, as they were fully booked for day, although many tables were empty. Not only internet is not free, but also it does not work.

Review 30:Free snorkeling equipment, buffet food was generally good.

Review 31:Despite how it looks in the pictures, this is not a top end all inclusive resort. Instead it is a mega hotel with 2500 rooms and a fairly small private beach. It would be a great family holiday if it was a bit cheaper, or if you stayed here as part of a lower cost all inc. package tour, but there is very little to recommend it at full price to you couples travelling through Mexico - for this money you can stay at very high end resorts in Tulum for example or much nicer boutique hotels elsewhere. Worth noting is that you are only entitled to use the al a carte restaurants if your stay is over 3 days and even then you only get one al a carte meal every 3 days - the rest of the time you will be dining in a 2000 seat mega-buffet, replete with luke warm food and a deafening din (imagine a giant school cafeteria). The drinks from the restaurants were ok, but the ones from the beach bar were not great. If you want to head out from here to neighbouring attractions beware that the taxi prices are fixed and extortionate. As I say, as a family destination as part of a package tour this place would be OK, but it is certainly not what it purports to be in it's listing.

Review 32:The raccoons

Review 33:Food (dinner buffet) wasn't as good as other reviews suggested. Wegot stuck eating pizza and pasta to be safe. Desserts were especiallybad and not sweet, mostly Whipped cream mouses in different flavors(blah) When making reservations for a la carte restaurants, wecouldn't get the ones we wanted because they were overbooked atall times.

Review 34:Staff was incredible! Never wanted for anything! We arrived early andour room was ready! Room was huge!!! And so close to the beach! Facilityas a whole is very impressive. Even though it's a big resort, itnever felt crowded or overpopulated.

Review 35:No one spoke English. Check in took 1.15 hours. We had a bug infestationone night. It took staff 90 minutes to respond. When they did they triedto clean the room with a can of raid and a rag. I could go on and andon. Would never stay at this resort again.

Review 36:Not much to like. Resort has potential but poorly managed from what Icould tell.

Review 37:The policy that doesnt let u booking into the 7 restaurants if youre staying less than 3 days.

Review 38:The food is amazing The coffee shop is nice The beach is ok the nature environment is amazing. The recreationist team and the shows.

Review 39:Would have liked the option of a golf cart at times because of all the walking

Review 40:The helpfulness and warmth of the staff Beauty of the location Snorkeling Reasonable cost Cleanliness

Review 41:Warkers in the restaurantes a la carte were too sirious e sometimes unpleasant. The people in the lobby were unfriendly and we payed internet but it didn't work in the room e that was bad, very bad for me!!!

Review 42:We liked so much the nature, the external environment was amazing, warkers in the main restaurant and on the beach were nice, very kind

Review 43:The food has to be a bit different ,

Review 44:The beach and pools

Review 45:We paid twice as much as other members of or group from Canda

Review 46:Awesome hotel with many things to do. Beautiful beach, good food and activities.
