Reviews for Hotel Lido
Review 1:- Breakfast rather boring and not varied - Repairs are not the first freshness
Review 2:- The hotel has its own parking, conveniently located if you are by car. - There is a lift - A nice view of the pool - Friendly staff - Good wi-fi
Review 3:No bar or social area Manager I asked to stay extra night manager said 130 euro for sat when I had paid 53 euro per night thur fri it then started raining so he said ok you can have the room for 53 euro I said no thank you and left not the correct way to treat people wh !! I looked at 6 pm and rooms were 40 euro for same night
Review 4:Staff nice
Review 5:Lack of food and bar facilities
Review 6:The staff were very helpful and arranged coach transfers for us with a local company at a price half that we would have paid using UK online sites.
Review 7:Terras of the room was not clean. The bathroom was in very poor condition and smelling very bad when the other guest of the hotel take a shower.... The frigirator was very noisy.
Review 8:The staff on the reception was excellent.
Review 9:I didn't like the fact that it doesn't have a real bar like where you sell "ALCOHOL" and the food menu could of Had more chioces. And the wifi for where I was didn't have the best connection.
Review 10:I like the fact that it was very clean. And the staff at the front desk were very Helpful.
Review 11:The main building is in need of renovation: old doors (noisy whenclosing and ineffective in isolating noise from the hall), old bathrooms(toilet flush is incredibly loud, and in our case leaking water).Breakfast: pastry (croissants, "pães de leite", etc.) wasclearly 1-2 days old (just like 4 years ago), so-called coffee wasundrinkable. Ran out of cutlery often. Reception staff: not rude nornice; fastest checkout we've ever had (here's the check, card, code, invoice, bye -- not one question about our stay, how we enjoyedit, etc.). We requested a double bed, had two single beds togetherinstead without a word about it. Advertised free private parking is notas great as it looks: it's 8-10 on-street spots, and even then wewere requested to move our car from one of them to the sidewalk on theother side of the street because of some works that were supposedlyhappening (never saw any - lame excuse to have free spots available toplease foreign guests?). Wi-Fi is not free. Bar has no alcohol.
Review 12:Great location: close enough to the casino, cafés, beach so we couldwalk there, far enough to be quiet. Calm and safe neighborhood, we couldeasily walk from the main street to the hotel by night. Swimming pool isadequate and pleasant, and our room had a balcony facing it. Rooms arevery well cleaned daily, cleaning staff is nice and polite. Beds arecomfortable, rooms/closets spacious. Rooms have air conditioning(sure came handy, since the great Estoril weather can gift you with warmevenings). Breakfast had warm scrambled eggs, which is noteworthy for a3-star hotel; it is served until 11am which is great (there are earlierreviews criticising a 10am ending time, so it's good to see themanagemet followed the guests' reviews). Breakfast staff wasattentive and quick to restore depleted food items. Although stillneeding renovation, it was noticeable remodeled since our last stay 4years ago.
Review 13:Room very basic, old fashioned interior. Breakfast again basic and not very appetising. Had to pay for Wi-Fi which not very usual these days.
Review 14:Receptionist was friendly and helpful
Review 15:the breakfast menu wasn't fantastic and the hotel should try and get a restaurant for lunch and dinner instead of guests going out all the time for food in the evening.
Review 16:friendly staff and good location.
Review 17:Not much stayed in Portugal for 12 days each night a different hotel have to say this was the worst property we paid more and less at each hotelI the price wasn't relevant but unfortunately for our final 2 days picked this one what a disaster don't go there is my advice
Review 18:Nothing about it it was dire
Review 19:The last few days we had the bad luck of rooms on our floor & next to us being taken over by kids (a tour I think). Awful- kids running up & down the corridor & banging doors constantly as they ran from room to room. No rest after that!
Review 20:The first few days were nice. Hotel was quiet & relaxed.
Review 21:Stinky room,Old and stinky bedlinen, extra stinky toilet(smell from pipes) and problems with hot water(during shower there were moments when water was extremely hot...)
Review 22:Area, wifi in whole hotel, nice balcon
Review 23:Wifi was extra... And the breakfast room toaster was... slow... But I'm really clutching at straws to find faults here!
Review 24:Travelling with a sick partner we needed to check in early (10am) to get some rest and the staff were compassionate and very accommodating. Our suite was spacious, clean and tastefully arranged, and impressive value for money! With a lovely view off the two balconies, free parking and a delicious selection at breakfast included, we booked in for a second night! Highly recommend!!!
Review 25:Every hotel should have a basic free wifi service which allows checking email. If 10 friends come to my place I am easily able to do this for them. That hotels don't do this for their customers rankles me no end.
Review 26:Except for the lack of wifi everything was good.
Review 27:Fantastic hotel for the price just a short stroll from the beach. The only issue that let this hotel down was the bar. I didn't sell alcoholic drinks, defeating the object of advertising a bar!
Review 28:Small room Very small shower No alcohol in the bar/hotel Wifi was good but I don't like to pay for it (€ 5,00 per day!)
Review 29:Good bed Nice staff Good location
Review 30:The lamp was not working in the bathroom and I pointed this out. Nobody fixed this.
Review 31:Location and very helpful staff
Review 32:Lack of isolation in the room
Review 33:The location is perfect for staying in Estoril area
Review 34:No bar no drinks top of a hill remote
Review 35:Staff room
Review 36:Very poor the hotel. Damp, poor breakfast.
Review 37:Da simpatia do staff
Review 38:Good location, fancy pool, remarcable staff
Review 39:room was noy clean and very old, brekfast was awful
Review 40:good view, quiet surroundings, pool
Review 41:Why no alcohol served in hotel
Review 42:Very good swimmingpool and
Review 43:Drainage smell from bathrooms Poor swimming pool area poor bar food area
Review 44:Rooms are nice
Review 45:Parking , large room with two bathrooms, cleanliness and price
Review 46:Very clean & modern suite with comfortable bed. Helpful staff and assisted with parking.
Review 47:Limited breakfast options.
Review 48:Very good service and very friendly staff, ready to support at any moment.
Review 49:No bar. Stairs down to pool a bit dangerous - edge not easily seen. Lounge cafeteria area closed at 10.00pm.
Review 50:Friendly staff. Good breakfast. Parking
Review 51:hotel rooms are old and very simple. It's fine for a short stay only.
Review 52:price of the hotel is good with reasonable breakfast
Review 53:The pigeons that make a mess in your balcony.
Review 54:Great location, swimming pool, fast and reliable wifi, very pleasant road not far from the beach.
Review 55:Hill climb
Review 56:Hotel in general
Review 57:The fact that there was no jar of WATER in room was wrong.
Review 58:Staffs were very helpful and friendly
Review 59:Easy to park the car in front of the hotel
Review 60:good pice and clean
Review 61:Breakfast was a bun fight when going later, better when taken earlier.
Review 62:I liked the price.
Review 63:1. Advertised Bar - No Bar 2. Breakfast Toaster very slow 3. Some rooms smelt damp
Review 64:Close to town Good breakfast choice Rooms clean
Review 65:Breakfast!
Review 66:Pool
Review 67:Fridge not working when we left the room.
Review 68:Only breakfast. No bar, no restaurant services, no fun...
Review 69:The comfort of the room
Review 70:The room smell cigarets and the shower was not working properly. No free Wi-fi.
Review 71:Located in a quite area. Modern decorations. Room was not very spacious but was comfortable. The breakfast is modest and fresh.
Review 72:the room was different than was on the pictures when I booked online. The furniture was old The bathroom handle door was broken There was no stand in the shower, every time I took a shower I put all the products on the floor. There was no internet.Just if you pay. For 30 minutes for internet cost me 1 euro. The same food everyday at breakfast: eggs and sausages.
Review 73:not to far from the beach nice staff
Review 74:Main complaint (and we did mention it at reception on leaving) was the strong stagnant smell coming from the bathroom - very offputting. The breakfast room was quite overcrowded around the service area during busy times.
Review 75:Staff very friendly and helpful, price very competitive. We had a very good experience staying here.
Review 76:Can´t understand why in some hotels still have to pay for internet connection, awful. They need to change that!
Review 77:Really new and perfect located. You can park the car outside with any problem. Good breakfast
Review 78:Breakfast with low and poor variety and the bread used in the bar to make the sandwich's is the worst and with a very poor presentation. At 10 pm sharp the bar closed and we stayed without a place to chat because the reception does not offer these conditions.
Review 79:The receptionist sympathy.
Review 80:Well we have used this hotel last week and we just became inconditional fans! Sympathy from staff members, clean, hot, wonderfull breakfast and best price/service quality in lisbon for sure. They are rebuilding some some floors of the hotel so this will be even better in future.
Review 81:Limited parking space and we had to pay for the wi-fi.
Review 82:Pretty old building but well renovated. Big rooms - we got an apartment with two rooms instead of a single room. Nice breakfast.
Review 83:the direction on the street was a bit off & far from the intersection or it should have been placed near the tourist office then the street afterwards as not all residents there know the hotel. it was difficult to fine at first. the bathroom exhaust fan was off and there's a bit of stinky smell from it.
Review 84:the room was good and would have been better if we went there on summer as there was a pool. breakfast was also okey. the locker was big enough and bathroom was also good.
Review 85:Requested a mini fridge - did not work, required for vital diabetic medicine. Staff uncaring & unconcerned.
Review 86:Good location, short walk to the train station & into Lisbon.
Review 87:We were lucky to find a parking place right in front of the hotel, but they don't have a private parking so I would say that would be the downside of this hotel + not having a gym.
Review 88:we stayed in a room on the new part of the hotel, so room was new and modern. Swimming pool in the hotel was nice too although we only stayed for a night and couldn't enjoy it. It's walking distance to the Casino Estoril, and I guess if you want to visit Lisbon, Cascais, Parede, etc it's a nice option to stay. Breakfast was included and was pretty fair, although not a lot of options!
Review 89:On doesn't have privacy in the rooms dowstairs (in the corridor of 228) as people are playing outside and can look inside your room. Breakfast wass fair.
Review 90:That they had parking in front of the hotel but unfortunatelly not enough spaces at times.
Review 91:1.There was a bad smell coming out of the bathroom. 2. The wardrobe finishing is poor. I paid less for Hotel Smart and had a better experience there. For a 3 star hotel, I expected better.
Review 92:The pool was good and clean.
Review 93:The hotel was a bit overcrowded in the breakfast room due to the highseason. If you do not ahve the car the location is far from the beachand the main city attractions, was difficult to find without the gps.
Review 94:Good value for money, well maintained room with the view on the backyard, decent breakfast.
Review 95:Darkness in the room on the ground floor - but it may be the advantage in the hot season
Review 96:Nice small hotel located in 10 minutes of walk from the beach, close to the center of Estoril and casino area. We had the room in the new building so everything is modern and convenient. Calm area, lot of parking places. Good value for money
Review 97:Continous barking of dog at night could not sleep after two nights requested room change. Situation improoved , staff said nothing they could do about it even though they had complaints from other guests
Review 98:Hotel reasonable.
Review 99:Wifi should befree.
Review 100:My room was located on the new wing.Nice room, modern, pool view, very clean and great bathroom. Staff was very friendly.Didn't get a chance to try the breKfast.
Review 101:It was absolutely dreadful...It was quite a walk from the centre ofEstoril up rather steep hills & not well signposted. It was dark& dismal looking & in need of a facelift. It had no barfacilities & the room smelt & was very dated. We leftimmediately & booked into another hotel.
Review 102:Nothing at all....really bad hotel. (If you could call it that ) Wouldnot recommend it to anyone at any price.
Review 103:Nothing, all good :o)
Review 104:I very much liked the fact that I was able to get a triple family room for 45 Euros. Didn't expect much, but was very pleasantly surprised: all very clean and comfortable, friendly helpful staff. Even had a balcony with view of the swimming pool where we could relax and smoke :o) The breakfast was extremely varied, lots of choice for everyone and regular fresh supplies too. Will be visiting again and recommend to friends/family. Many thanks
Review 105:N/A
Review 106:The staff were amazing, accommodating and kind. The hotel exceeded expectations with comfort and decor. Comfortable beds, tub, flat screen tv, satellite and lots of lighting and windows. Nice breakfast and snack bar was offered for drinks and sandwiches. Quiet neighborhood close to Casino Estoril and a walking distance to Tamariz beach. Definitely coming back!
Review 107:Must pay for Wifi internet ! I can not understand you must pay for that kind of service in 2013 !
Review 108:Very nice hotel, well located close to the ocean side, not far from Lisbon. Rooms are modern and breakfast included for very good price...
Review 109:Nothing like not remember
Review 110:Staff quietly confident quietly and discreetly doing its job. It is convenient and comfortable. Emerging issues. Issues quickly resolved. The hotel was a little all bolshii walked traveled. I liked everything. A good match. Thank you.
Review 111:No bar facilities that sell alcohol, no restaurant, have to go out to get evening meal or drinks. Pool area very mucky, could do with being tiled.
Review 112:comfortable bedrooms
Review 113:I didn't like food (poor choice), additional fee for internet access which actually did not work properly. I found a huge caucrouch in my bathroom! Toilet seat didn't fit the toilet bow - it was much smaller - not only in my room !!! There is no iron nor iron desk available so you need to use their laundry services.
Review 114:Swimming Pool was OK and it was cheap however I would not rate it as a 3 star hotel.
Review 115:Very lovely hotel. Great room overlooking pool, with lovely view from the balcony. Helpful staff, ordered taxi for us to airport. most pleasant breakfast room. Very nice neighborhood for walking. we enjoyed our stay!
Review 116:The hotel Lido (the room which was allocated to us) was antiquated. Bathroom facilities was very poor, due to the fact that the shower had very little pressure. The toilet was situated in such a position that my knees touched the opposite wall ( I am 5 foot 11 1/2 inches tall). The room was small and shabby.
Review 117:The floors are wood instead of carpet, which is perfect for people with allergies. The staff is very friendly, the design and outside gardens give a good athmosfere.
Review 118:Visitors are noisy! Someone already mentioned in the reviews that there was a large group during their visit. I thougt the risk was low that we should have the same, but we met 2 noisy groups in 3 nights.
Review 119:It is a hotel with a pool...staff is just kind enough not more not less. Estoril has a nice, not too crowdy beach. Het is een hotel met zwembad...het personeel is net aardig genoeg, niet meer niet minder. Het strand van Estoril is leuk, niet te druk.
Review 120:It was in a residential are with derelict buildings either side. It wasnoisy from owners of other properties preparing for the summer visitors. It was at least a kilometer fro the sea. Parking was minimal. The roomhad no minibar yet there was provision for one. The lounge bar was dry.The view fro the "balcony" was of an enormous tree.
Review 121:Over priced, compared with other similar 3 start hotels we stayed inaround Spain and Portugal - most were in the range of €50-80 per nightand much better standard. There was no indication when booking thatthere was no alcohol served in the bar which did not go down too wellwith our party. Bedrooms and bathrooms need a little tlc to bring themup to standard.
Review 122:The bar near to the pool doesnt have any alcoholic drinks, just waterand juices, absolutely crazy! There are lots of stairs involved ingetting to the room in the new wing, no lift access.
Review 123:The room was small but modern and clean, and although uphill fom the seait was in a good location. Hotel had a lovely garden with pool.
Review 124:in the bedroom for 3 persons, one person has to sleep on the sofa-bed.
Review 125:breakfast was the best we had on our holiday in Portugal! The staff was friendly, everything was very clean, and it is only a short walk (max 10mins) from the centre and from the beach. Free parking in front of the hotel, many spaces.
Review 126:There was a lot of noise during the night, with guests arriving atdiffrent times at night and in the morning, starting very early thecleaners were also making a lot of noise with doors banging, etc. Thewindons in the room are old and bangend all night as it was windy. Thebathrooms are old and do not look nice, need a redecoration asap!
Review 127:The hotel has really friendly staff, the location is also very good aswell the price.
Review 128:The room was barely clean, except for the bathroom. There were pieces of clothing from previous customers inside the wardrobe. The shower was fixed with celotape.
Review 129:The staff was nice, the location is good and breakfast was good.
Review 130:Internet is not free. This is unacceptable. Everything you buy at hotel is very expensive. Eg. a simple coffee costs €1,5, a bread with a single slice of cheese costs €3,5 They switch us to another room because a plum issue.
Review 131:Location. Price, because we got a flash promotion.
