Reviews for Estalagem do Vale

Review 1:It is a 4 star hotel, but we did not have a fridge with mini bar in our room The wifi is only available in the lobby.

Review 2:Location and views are superb, the staff is very friendly and helpful. And we had the best breakfast in Madeira in this hotel, plenty of exotic fruit!

Review 3:No WiFi in the room (only in the lobby). Guests at the pool can keep you awake (but normally it is very quiet).

Review 4:Comfortable and pleasantly quiet hotel in a beautiful setting. Very pleasant and service-oriented staff. Good restaurant.

Review 5:Exceptional service, lovely location with lovely views. Great restaurant - lovely evening meals and superb spread for breakfast. Also nice sauna and jacuzzi and swimming pool.

Review 6:- extra charge for turkish bath and sauna, although both are looking a bit worn down

Review 7:- free parking - good location - nice food, breakfast buffet and dinner - daily changing 3 course dinner for a reasonable price (we had ham and ananas as starter, stonefish as main course and dessert from the dessert trolley for 18€ each) - free wlan in the public areas

Review 8:The evening meal we had was uninspiring and bland. This was unexpected since on previous visits the food had been excellent. Has there been a new chef?

Review 9:Very friendly and efficient staff Clean rooms that are well appointed and looked after Beautiful grounds Stunning location - excellent views Close to the village by car Excellent breakfast We will be staying there again.

Review 10:Fantastic view of the valley and beautiful nature. Friendly and helpful staff and food was very nice.

Review 11:No wifi in room, only in small part of lobby. Parking sometimes a problem.

Review 12:Beautiful, peaceful location, very friendly staff and a good restaurant.

Review 13:Quiet, relaxing atmosphere with very friendly staff.

Review 14:A bit isolated so no town within walking distance.

Review 15:Beautiful quiet location with great views, lovely room with balcony, excellent restaurant.

Review 16:Breakfast is not acceptable poor for 4 star property, sauna and Turkish bath for extra money, Jacuzzi is not usable (cold and doesn’t work properly).

Review 17:Room was good, freshly renovated and clean, very nice staff, nice warm pool

Review 18:the resort of Sao Vincente was disappointing but hotel was good location for levada walking

Review 19:Everything, especially breakfast and dinner. Nice pool with bar which serves good snacks, e.g. salads, burgers etc.

Review 20:Hotel is away from town centre so you need a car - But this is part of its charm!

Review 21:Clean modern hotel. Very warm and friendly staff. Stunning views. Home from home. Excellent food. Good pool and jacuzzi. Excellent value for money. One of our favourite hotels across Europe.

Review 22:even there was a road sign with the name of the hotel, we couldn't find it at first step

Review 23:after arriving in FNC we went to sao vicente via santana (north route) enjoying by several stopps during the ride so we arrived in the late afternoon in our first hotel. hotel is located on a quite upper valley. parking is available in this small, nice interior, hotel. next day before going to porto moniz, we could visit the grutas.

Review 24:There was absolutely nothing we did not like.

Review 25:At the time we visited it represented extremely good value for money for very good accommodation and facilities. It had a warm, cosy feel to it and the staff could not have been more helpful, everything done politely and with a smile. The location was peaceful and only a short drive from some spectacular coast and mountain scenery. Many attractive small towns and villages are within easy reach and Funchal itself is only a 30-40 minute drive. The breakfasts were well presented with a good choice of continental or cooked breakfasts, fruits, cereals etc. The restaurant in the evening offered a good choice of meals across a good price range. We would love to go back again.

Review 26:English of personel is not that good Restaurant is too expensive: you pay 3 times as much compared to restaurants in the village.

Review 27:Very clean hotel; nice breakfast (although little variation)

Review 28:Food is ok but no more than that and debatable value for money. (It is a very long and steep climb back from village if you go elsewhere). Not really enough space around pool /gardens for number of guests.

Review 29:Location is great for getting into mountains or exploring north coast. Sao Vicente is a little gem of a village.Rooms and bathrooms are modern and well looked after and good value for money.

Review 30:Lack of free internet access, small parking (over several days we had topark on the street)

Review 31:Hotel design, fridge in the room, balcony with the view on the see andthe mountains, quiet neighborhood

Review 32:The bar closes early, 10.15 - 10.30. Did not want to drink a great deal, but it wsa inconvenient.Hotel owner, or partner, spent time in the evening sat in front to the large TV to the exclusion of guests. Someone needs to remind him of who are the important residents!

Review 33:Beautiful Hotel. Very clean and well maintained. This was our secondstay. Excellent food and very friendly staff. We will return again.

Review 34:breakfast, often not enough of hot buffet. Location noisy.

Review 35:pool, views

Review 36:food

Review 37:Activities such as mini-golf, snooker and tennis table

Review 38:Food is medium.

Review 39:Very nice location, good view. The staff friendly and helpful

Review 40:Pool isn't heated :(

Review 41:excelent staff, excelent views, quiet.
