Review 1：We had originally booked for 5 nights but left after the first night. We regularly use Booking.Com and our experience to date has been good. However, we simply cannot understand how this B&B has high review scores. We were actually frightened during our stay. Upon arrival, the female owner started running down the high street screaming at us. Apparently, we had parked in the wrong area. She told us off for: (i) watching the television too loud, (ii) leaving a light on, and (iii) not using our key to lock the exterior door to the B&B (which actually locks itself when you close it). She informed us that we could not stay in the B&B during the day because it "was not a hotel". The earliest the B&B can serve breakfast from is 8.45am. Whilst at the B&B, we wrote to Booking.com and explained the situation. They agreed that we could pay for one night and leave early. The lady owner stood on the stairs and blocked our exit. She screamed and shouted at us and demanded more payment (we had already paid for one night). We threatened to call the police and she started rampaging through the house slamming doors and screaming. All in all, not a good experience!

Review 3：We had an amazing stay here, from the warm decorated rooms to the delicious breakfast, we thoroughly enjoyed. Owners Lieve and Jan were the nicest, always ready to help with information and everything else we needed. The rooms are spacious, bathroom was big, and the compound has a lovely yard you can just relax and enjoy a cup of coffee.

Review 11：The proximity and layout of the bedrooms to the dining facilities. It is fine when lodging with people you know, but when with complete strangers, I would find it very difficult to exit my bedroom, straight into the area for dining and find myself having to be social, to complete strangers, at what could possibly be a very early hour . I would also feel unable to leave my bedroom door open, when lodging with strangers, due to being able to look straight into the bedroom from the dining area, and this would possibly make it feel a bit claustrophobic and restricted in the room. However, with friends and family, this is the ideal set up. As this was primarily a business trip, we did find that the breakfast times were a little restrictive, but that was due to the fact that the owners always provided totally FRESH bread etc, purchased on the day.

Review 12：Support for the use of local and regional produce by the owners. Local breads were purchased daily for breakfast from the baker and also local honey, jams and beers. The fridge was well stocked with all sorts of local beers and also water and soft drinks. The variety of foods for breakfast was amazing. Would definitely come again if visiting with friends and family, so they could stay in the opposite room. The owners were very helpful in providing details of where to visit and eat and all the local peculiarities, such as shop closing times for lunch and having to book for dinner if eating locally every night. Bruge itself was always open in the evenings and not very far away.
