Reviews for Hotel Estoril Eden

Review 1:Bathroom needs upgrading and every few mins the shower went cold !

Review 2:Good choice for breakfast Large bedroom Friendly happy staff Indoor and outdoor pool 10 min walk into town View of the sea and beach

Review 3:Breakfast coffee was terrible. Room was very clean, but carpet was dated and because of colour looked dirty, yet room was well cleaned each day. Indoor pool was also cold, and outside one was freezing.

Review 4:Fabulous view from balcony and excellent location for travelling to Lisbon, Sintra, Quelez and Caiscas

Review 5:No parking, or your have to pay 15 €/day, big building no charm, very good for groups, not for couple. Old hotel, breakfast to crowded, and small area for it. Not very helpful manager not very nice and arrogant

Review 6:one night was enough pretty sure better places around

Review 7:Breakfast was a scrum and the breakfast was monotonous and poor. The hotel is on a hill as stated. If you are of limited mobility this is not the hotel for you.

Review 8:Fantastic views from our seaview room. Lovely rooms - large with kitchenette and balcony. Very near station for frequent trains to Cascais and Lisbon.

Review 9:This is not a 4 star hotel. Breakfast was terrible, rooms were single beds pushed together- no double available Staff not the most friendly at breakfast. Really needs a facelift

Review 10:Close to train line into Lisbon and Cascais

Review 11:The hotel is about 20 mins walk from the main bars and restaurants, or a 5 euro taxi ride. On street parking available around the hotel. Room was basic, clean, and functional. Tiny bathroom but all ok other than that

Review 12:The hotels bed and bath area need to be updated. Also breakfast service items should be more varied. Every day same items.

Review 13:Staff is always friendly and attentive

Review 14:although the room had all the kit for self catering (no kettle in ours) I felt that there could have been some tea coffee and milk so that your guests could at least have a cup of tea or coffee on getting to their room, the cost of the rooms I would have expected the above as normal for the price.

Review 15:the room was fine the view was great the location was great very clean and welcoming the bowl of fruit was very nice

Review 16:Located up a very steep hill with steps so difficult to get luggage to.Unfriendly, unhelpful and disinterested reception staff.Cold ,windy balcony with no access to any sunlight

Review 17:Very well equiped kitchen area, friendly cleaning staff

Review 18:Dated Room design Breakfast

Review 19:Perfectly located between Cascais and Estoril Wonderful beach nearby Spacious room Breathtaking atlantic view Close to Busby's pub

Review 20:My main issue was that during booking I specifically mentioned that we ask for a high floor and a double bed, but my request was doubly ignored, and they could not change us room. I mention it because I've read other couples mentioning in their reviews the exact same issue about getting twin beds despite having specifically mentioned they wanted a double bed. Furniture a bit old - needs refurbishment. An odd experience happened to me: I got warned by a taxi driver while in Cascais that hotel staff are dishonest and cheat customers with fare when they book a taxi (70-80 euros instead of 30-40 to the airport). I also read such things on the forums so I asked the staff about it. They replied that it is taxis who do so, not they. I personally I did not experience any issue, but I guess one should be cautious with taxi fares. I read some reviews that the breakfast was poor, but I found it average. However it indeed was too crowded. 10 am end of breakfast is extremely early, and they should move to the common 11 am. We also used room service and it was okay but without much flavour. An extra charge of 2.20 euros for the safe was a bit odd.

Review 21:Staff very courteous and professional. Taxi orders came in no time. Rooms large and comfortable. Superb view over the ocean, I definitely recommend to pay the extra for an ocean view. Proximity to the beach. Swimming pool looked very nice, but we didn't use it.

Review 22:A tiny bathroom, old but well equipped. Noisy day and night : road + railway in front of the hotel. This 70's hotel must be renovated.

Review 23:This hotel is very well located close to the beach...even if you must walk and use stairs ! A large room with balcony view on sea. A large buffet that we appreciated even if the food is not very good...

Review 24:Found a used condom in bedside locker. Had to call reception twice to have it cleaned out. Key card wouldn't work on 3 occasions. Had to check out early due to death in family at home, absolutely no sympathy from staff or even a mention of any type of reimbursement for the 3 nights stay that we would no longer be using.

Review 25:Good location, close to the beaches of Estoril and promenade walk to Cascais.

Review 26:The pool attendants were best I have ever met All staff very friendly and efficient Lady on reception needs to lighten up not friendly very efficient but does not give u a good vibe on first impresdionp

Review 27:Elevators were slow I didn't like the wait every time we need to go up or down

Review 28:Location, wifi and breakfast Friendly staff it was very nice bringing us a complimentary fruit basket to our room

Review 29:Whilst it didn't really effect the stay I felt the decor, particularly in the room was a bit tired and in need of some updating.

Review 30:Good sized apartment, friendly staff, conveniently located for the beach, Estoril and Cascais, and trainline to Lisbon.

Review 31:Very outdated and cramped rooms - not suitable for family of 5 despite being told OK . Kids camp beds broken and uncomfortable. Double bed mattress lumpy. Kitchen again basic and the toilet opened into it - not very hygienic! Most of the staff sullen and miserable apart from one young lad at reception. Staff not very accommodating . Like the hotel, old fashioned and out of touch with customer service values certainly doesn't merit a 4 star rating. Will not be going back.

Review 32:The Pool and free wi-fi

Review 33:Hotel a bit old. Furnishings slightly dated. Having to pay for the valuables safe in the room.

Review 34:Location. Pools (indoor and outdoor) Easy access to beach, train station, Estoril and Cascais. The fantastic sea view.

Review 35:Pool was not cleaned. Complained about door to the room didn't lock properly (found the door open after the cleaners had been there), and the only answer we got was that they couldn't fix it!!!! Breakfast was poor, don't spend money on that one! Ordered taxi through the hotel the first day -price to Lisboa was 80€. When we returned from Lisboa in 'an ordinary taxi' the price was 33€

Review 36:Too much not to like :(

Review 37:Terrible breakfast. Stale bakery goods. No excuse with their own bakery next door. A bit expensive compared with others of comparable type but ok really

Review 38:Really helpful, staff. Great facilities and location.

Review 39:We had one of 3 beautifully furnished penthouse suites. The living room was about half the size of a tennis court and had two balconies. The TV had English TV channels.

Review 40:The room service was very bad, beds were fixed once, had to ask for toliet tissue. The hotel decor is from the 70's old fixtures needs revamping. The food is bland tasteless. Not ideal for young couple as most guests are over 60

Review 41:The view from the bedroom was the sea. The staff was friendly. Hotel opposite train station.

Review 42:Room is not clean. There was one day they forgot to throw away our trash, another day they forgot to leave toilet paper. Diner 18.5 per person is not worth the value and it tasts horrible!! Breakfast was also with the cheapest ingredients...

Review 43:Location

Review 44:Head receptionist was somewhat on the rude side. Spent time lecturing & repeating information. We did catch her smiling one day so maybe she was having a bad day when we checked in.

Review 45:The room was larger than most hotel rooms. The balcony was wonderful. We spent most of our time relaxing and enjoying the views.

Review 46:No bad experience at all, hotel was well-run and lived upto it's rating and review scores....but it has No soul to speak of. A bit like staying in the county planners office atmosphere-wise. Would definitely suit private people and couples but not for us.

Review 47:Location fine..good for beach, train station. Rooms very good, pool area fine, breakfast fine if a bit repetitive.

Review 48:The bed was very old, so in the morning we had pain in our back...

Review 49:The service was perfect! Very kind and always ready to help you. The location also was very good, very central but not too noisy.

Review 50:All was grand, no bad experiences.

Review 51:Although there were a lot of residents it was never noisy, sound proofing must have been excellent. Pool very clean And all around it very clean. Nice walk to Cascais from hotel.

Review 52:It's a little bit old-fashioned in style, but for one night it didn't really matter.

Review 53:They gave me a suite on the top floor, which was a bonus. I had taken a sea-facing room so had fantastic views of the ocean, Estoril to the left and Cascais to the right of my balconies. The bed was very comfortable, good facilities and clean. Decent breakfast selection and attentive staff.

Review 54:Other guest smoking so we could not enjoy our balcony or open sliding door. Room never dusted. Washed own dishes and no drying cloth provided. Room cleaned one day at 16h20.Pillows like bricks. Indoor pool facilities close at six.Breakfast after four days same food. Lots of food out of tins.Noisy main road.

Review 55:Sea view from room and balcony.

Review 56:Reception tried to charge the room price twice. The wifi was very poor, sometimes limited, no speed. Very expensive.

Review 57:Comfortable rooms, good conference place.

Review 58:If you want to eat out, not much nearby, you'll have to walk into Cascais. Sea view side also overlooks a noisy main road so go for a high floor.

Review 59:Located right opposite Monte Estoril station and 10-15 minutes walk from Cascais along the sea front. Large room with balcony overlooking sea, self-catering facilities. Hotel a little old-fashioned. Probably not for young clubbers, clientele middle aged to elderly.

Review 60:The room was not very clean and the toiletries were not replaced after use. The Jacuzzi was cold. The hot food was also cold

Review 61:The location is excellent

Review 62:Car parking was a bit difficult but we found a place for every night. Daytime parking is about 1€ per hour from 8 to 20, but there are free places also near the hotel.

Review 63:For me WiFi is of importance. This was 10+ download > 20 Mbits upload > 5 Mbits and it was functioning everywhere. Walking street at the see was perfect with restaurants. Cascais was in walking distance via the strand road. Good connection to Lisbon with train. And for those in gambling - Estoril Casino is 1.2 km walking distance.

Review 64:No check-in possible before 14:00 - we arrived at noon with a 1 1/2 year old baby who was crying of tiredness. No room was clean yet, we were told. So we stayed in the lobby for 2 hours waiting. The hotel is a bit old and a normal 3 star hotel. The 4 stars were given for the swimming pool I think, not for the comfort of rooms or other services. Breakfast - same things for 4 days in a row, so you have no idea whether some of the things are recycled or fresh.

Review 65:Location - it's close to the beach (10minutes walk)

Review 66:rooms dated - need refurbishment and updating , breakfast area far too small for crowds ,

Review 67:magnificent sea views from room, location by train station and sea walks , lovely park outside and friendly staff

Review 68:Room carpet could have been cleaner. mattresses and pillows better quality and more pillows in room though supplied; noise from road poolside but; not a big issue and did not affect rest or sleep restaurant only opened at 730pm at night which is very late for small children but very good and convenient but means they must miss out on business.

Review 69:the choice of indoor and outdoor pools next to each other; the staff; the restaurant and sea views.

Review 70:We were disappointed as we had requested a double bed but had twins. When we asked at reception we were told that a Danish couple were staying longer than us so had priority. We stayed over Easter & breakfast on Good Friday was so busy people were sat on the floors eating their breakfast. I think this was just unfortunate as it was only for the one day, the other days were much less busy.

Review 71:We loved the location, indoor and outdoor pools, size of the junior suite (family room), breakfast, balcony and the views

Review 72:The main bed - these are two separate, placed side by side. Not cool for couples. Additional bed not very good, but comfortable. Pool closes too early.

Review 73:Almost all. Fruits as gift, best view.

Review 74:we booked a sea view twin room, it is fantastic with sitting in the balcony watching the sea. it is clean and conveinient. Definitely come back with kids.

Review 75:Could be a little noisy from road bit not noticeable at all with windows closed.

Review 76:Comfortable room, great sea view, proximity to other tourist locations by train or car.

Review 77:The meal with shrimps we had in the restaurant. The breakfast staff gave the impression they did not want to be there.

Review 78:The size of the room and the sea view. The reception staff extremely helpful and friendly

Review 79:We asked for the room on the upper floor, but the hotel couldn't fulfil our wish even if the booking was done three months in advance and the hotel was not fully booked.

Review 80:The place was very run down. Not at all what I expected from the pictures. Very disappointed in the quality of the place. Looked at other locations in the same area and this one wasn't as nice for the other places for the same price. Wouldn't stay here again. Very surprised at the high rating on here.

Review 81:The staff was very friendly. Location was a bit of a drive from the airport but a wonderful location. Breakfast was nice.

Review 82:Room a bit chilly in the evenings - warm air heating system provided was not that effective but this was only a minor issue.

Review 83:Location was fantastic - worth paying the bit extra for the sea view - nice to have the kitchen and the indoor swimming pool for winter breaks.

Review 84:The restrictions and timetable for the SPA and indoor pool were not presented to us upfront. The indoor pool had cold water, as had the jacuzzi. The hotel infrastructure and facilities need quite a face-lifting.

Review 85:The location, the space within the room and the sea-view. Awesome. The staff was nice, even if too mechanical.

Review 86:Best to get Instructions between airport & hotel from Hotel Eden reception rather than taking directions from Booking.com if one is using public transport.

Review 87:Barking dogs and 50 euro taxi from Lisbon airport to and from hotel

Review 88:We had a great stay room with sea view and balcony well worth the extra . Breakfast was excellent and kitchen facilities handy for snacks. Would definitely recommend hotel to anyone!

Review 89:needs refurbishing shower needs replacing not very generous with towels

Review 90:excellent location tobacconist shop at reception views were excellent pool was great big room

Review 91:Very poor quality beds and a long steep climb up from the beach area .also the practise of defrosting fridges leaving a pool of water being soaked up by towels which is the first thing that greets one when you enter the room .

Review 92:The staff and facilities ,the food was also quite good .

Review 93:Great place to stay and relax. Large room with kitchenette, wonderful ocean view, two swimming pools, walking distance to town centre and beach. Breakfast quite good but get there early to avoid the crowds!

Review 94:-Extremely poor breakfast -Worst coffee in my life -Too many people gathering at the same time in the restaurant -A mess during the breakfast -Had to wait for check in -Rather old hotel (at least had this impression when got to the room)

Review 95:-Extremely friendly and helpful staff -We had awesome cleaning lady: helpful, chilled, clean and funny -Additional thanks would like to tell to staff working in the bar during the night: for patience and keeping bar opened for only us while we were working on laptops -Fantastic view from the rooms with the sea view (Were living in the 11th floor) -Very close to the beaches -Delicious goat cheese for breakfast (unfortunately only thing was able to eat there)

Review 96:Pools great, easy access to beach. Rooms have kitchenette. Perfect for light meals and lunches. Ate on our balcony overlooking the pool. Staff friendly. Clean well supplied rooms.

Review 97:Would not reccomend the hotel if you don't have a sea view, unless it is much lower in price. Lobby is on 3rd floor so better if you have a room on 6th floor or higher.

Review 98:Location is great, near train station and close to walk way at beach front. Easy access to restaurants and transportation. For a moderate hotel it is still worth the value.

Review 99:Decor a little dated Choice of breakfast buffet a little limited

Review 100:Pool area with snack bar rooms very big with balcony air conditioning kitchenette area with large fridge friendly, helpful staf

Review 101:On check out the staff member, maybe a manager was a bit rude, just rushing you out of the place, not friendly

Review 102:The facilities, the size and space, the air conditioning, breakfast, porters, evening staff,

Review 103:When it comes down to it, it was not worth the 142e per night we spent. If you get a deal for 100e or less - and you don't want to be in city centre but rather away for a beach break - go for it. I had read the reviews saying it was more 3 star than 4 star and decided to ignore them but wish I had just opted for a cheaper place in the end.

Review 104:We came with the express purpose of having a couple of days of sun this summer; this wasn't a cultural visit, but a sensory one. As such, The Eden was a great location - right next the the train station, to minimize useless travelling time, and right near the beach, with a pool and a sea view. I wanted to LOVE this hotel. And parts of it I did. It's from another era, and has a definite late-70s vibe that I dug. The staff were lovely, the pool was small but serviceable, and as mentioned, the location was good. But it wasn't great.

Review 105:If you are driving, GPS is a must!

Review 106:I loved the location, and the ocean view was fantastic. Liked the complementary breakfast (room to improve there but good anyways), loved the pool area, rooms are comfortable, good room service.

Review 107:No problems for me. It's a short but steep walk down to the railway station and beach. I didn't use the pool or hotel grounds so can't comment on those. Décor was a bit dated but still in good condition.

Review 108:I was attending a conference at a nearby hotel and the Estoril Eden gave me everything I wanted for the stay at half the price. Room was huge and would have suited a couple or small family. Breakfast and evening meals were good and reasonably priced.

Review 109:The hotel is in disrepair. The beds are uncomfortable. The furniture is outdated. The hotel does not have safe parking on site.

Review 110:the location is good.

Review 111:Terrible quality breakfast and overcrowded lounge . Poor indoor pool . Poor lifts and bad layout of family room

Review 112:Most of the staff

Review 113:Double bed instead of 2 singles would be better for a solo traveller.

Review 114:The view in my room was amazing! And such a big space.

Review 115:Think hotel needs a makeover clean but tired looking. Breakfast room was dull and furnishings need to be updated.

Review 116:Location was great

Review 117:The hotel was advertised as a four star,I rate it as only a three star at best.

Review 118:The hotel was quite well located, close to the sea.

Review 119:The beds were somehow very hard

Review 120:I liked the balcony that has very very nice view on the sea

Review 121:Enjoyed the free breakfast. Front desk staff helpful and friendly. Fruit basket delivered to room compliments of manager.

Review 122:Awful breakfast, cleanliness lacking, poor value for money.

Review 123:Nice pool, good location

Review 124:A few teething problems. Breakfast not 4star.

Review 125:The location.

Review 126:The location, amazing view, everything just wonderful!! Thank you sooo much

Review 127:Cleanliness is average

Review 128:The location is superb! Either stay at a sea view room or don't stay here at all. That's the beauty of it

Review 129:Overpriced and not a Star Hotel

Review 130:The view from Balcony

Review 131:Slightly old furniture. Extra bed is not big enough for my height.

Review 132:Good Location, nice view, breakfast is nice.

Review 133:Friendly and helpful staff, good location and relaxing

Review 134:breakfast.

Review 135:location. reasonable. view.

Review 136:Rooms need to be revamped. Very tired and dated

Review 137:Friendly most pleasant staff

Review 138:Breakfast very crowded

Review 139:Location, sea views
