Reviews for Key West AquaLodge - Adults Only

Review 1:We slept with ants in both beds. No shower on boat and bathhouse was gross and zero privacy. The boat was hot and air conditioner wasn't able to get it cool. Very small. For the price we paid we could have stayed in a really nice hotel . We even left a night early because it was so miserable .

Review 2:The weather in key west is great. Being near the water .

Review 3:As to be expected on a boat you are dealing with a marine toilet, or walking a little way to the marina bathrooms. Fine with us, but just a warning to the uninitiated! The marina is a little out of town, which could be viewed as an advantage.

Review 4:Lovely, well-appointed boat and great experience. Comfortable, air-conditioned and fun. Really lovely for a couple wanting peace and quiet and to come and go without that whole "hotel lobby" experience.

Review 5:I really enjoyed living on a boat for three days that I was there. Linda was great helping me find the location and kept in touch with throughout my stay. This is much better then staying in a hotel. I will be back.

Review 6:I had to wait for 2 extra hours, as the owner did not answer my calls, and then she said they were cleaning the room (although it was already pretty late). Nowhere in description it is said that the shower and toilet are external and shared with other people. And they sell the room for the price of a Key West location, but actually it is not where! It's a 15 minute car trip from Key West.

Review 7:It's a new experience and the boat is in a beautiful marine.

Review 8:The owner could've just wrote a detailed instruction to the boat beforehand, instead of having us called her and looking for signs on spot(which made it a lot more confusing). The staff was nice overall but not available the whole time. I was also falsely accused by having extra people on the boat at night. Not very pleased with it. Lastly, I personally think it's overpriced.

Review 9:Never lived in a boat before, so it's quite special for my mom and me. Interesting experience. We watched sunset, sun rise and night view near the boat, which was pretty awesome. Go for it for one night if you want a special experience.

Review 10:check in needs to b better organized. it seemed very secretive of where we were supposed to go to check in. then we didn't a call back to chk in until 7.

Review 11:great idea of staying on the boat, but not much of a view, just a bunch of other boats. was back in the corner of the marina.

Review 12:We were not warned about the fact that there was no shower on board and we needed to use the facilities provided by the marina. Could not flush toilet paper on the boat and were told to not let others know we were paying to stay but were told to say we were friends of Linda. We got the impression that we were not staying there legally.

Review 13:Location was good in the marina and we saw manatees up close that was a once in a lifetime experience.

Review 14:Wish we could have stayed longer!!!

Review 15:The owners of the boats came to meet us and take us to the boat dock!!! Very clean and romantic, even provide dishes and wine glasses!!! It was a beautiful stay!

Review 16:The bed on our boat was terribly uncomfortable. We were up all night. It was like sleeping on a piece of plywood. We are experienced at sleeping on several other boats and this was the most uncomfortable. I'm hoping that they invest in a new mattress before the next people come. Also you can not black out the room because the windows are not covered all the way. The staff put a unsightly tarp over part of the windows to help but we still had dock lights in our faces all night. No microwave- which ended up being ok with us. Shower facility is at the opposite end of the marina... but it was very, very clean. You must bring all your own shampoo, soap, and wash cloth though.. The location was upsetting to us in that it is next to some type of jail facility. It made us nervous to come and go after dark. Also you can not lock the boat cabin from the outside so you can not leave any personal belongings on board without risk. Keep in mind that they have other boats. This review was for the 'My Girl' sailboat only.

Review 17:The staff were very friendly and approachable: They encouraged us to call or text if we had any problems or questions. They made it easy to set up the reservations. Glad to have the mini fridge. Glad that they were so nice; and am hoping that they invest more in their business.

Review 18:Bad luck the wind was up, but what can you do. Maybe not try to sleep in a V-Berth that is 6" on the diagonal from the V to the salon bulkhead. Going to the bathroom (some moderate distance from the boat) at 4 a.m. was arduous. One should not book without full knowledge.

Review 19:The location was great and the adventure value was great.

Review 20:Had to visit a Tourist information centre in the centre of Key West to try and track down the marina berth site which they don't manage). The owner of the yacht refuses to give you the actual address (by email or phone) until the last minute when you arrive in Key West and they are supposed to meet you in the Marina carpark. So if they don't answer the phone you are let waiting for ages. It took 6 call attempts (a couple hours) and then finally 2 more call attempts by the Tourist Centre before we got through to request the address to drive to. The other issue we didn't like was that the marina public toilets and shower (for guests) were locked and the keypunch code to allow access did not work (the code was changed). Another visitor client in the marina (male) had the same issue for the previous 4 days, so he said he had to use the female toilet/shower facility.

Review 21:The boat was small but served as serviceable accommodation.

Review 22:Pictures of boat on Booking were different than actual property. Bathroom accommodations were very different and problematic. Boat smelled like porta-potty on and off. No shower on boat as shown in pictures and no hot water. Was prepared to rough it a little but this was more than I expected.

Review 23:Very nice hosts...checked on us almost every day. Nice, quiet location and convenient to areas we wanted to visit. Really unique experience.

Review 24:Advertised as a comfortable relaxing sail boat. The bed would not accommodate a large person.

Review 25:The harbor was nice, sitting there enjoying the surroundings.

Review 26:A bit expensive (but of course everything is in this area).

Review 27:If by car, it was very easy to get to town. It was nice and quiet and people were friendly. It was clean and comfotable.

Review 28:Although the woman who escorted us to the boat was nice, the managing agent was not. He was rude and dubious. Also no shower on boat; you have to go to marina for that.

Review 29:The location was quiet, peaceful, and we saw amazing birds, manatees, and turtles. It was fun staying on a docked sailboat; you do have to be prepared to "rough" it a bit. We really liked it. People on other boats were friendly.

Review 30:We have to wait more than hour in nowhere for somebody come and show where the marina is. After we was twice notifed if we dont like something we can easy go away. Boat is real floating wreck, even no soap on it. No service at all! Never again!

Review 31:Weather

Review 32:The Weather. LOL The stormy skies were a bummer.

Review 33:The owners were fabulous, friendly and quite helpful. Loved the homey cozy feel of our stay here. It was real down to earth at the same time giving you the feel of adventure. It was rainy the days we stayed so we mostly stayed on the boat which made the trip totally worth it. So much better than an over priced hotel room. Thank you :o) We will be back.

Review 34:Having to walk to the showers but that didn't bother me.

Review 35:I liked the unique feel of staying on a sail boat. Felt like a local for the 2 days I stayed here. Staff and neighbors were very friendly and quiet. Loved this place and would highly recommend it!

Review 36:No problems - great all around experience.

Review 37:Our hosts Kurt, Linda, and Chris were wonderful. They were very attentive to us throughout our stay. These are unique accommodations and a truly a one of a kind experience. We will definitely be back. Thanks again!

Review 38:This fishing boat One-bedroom boat (my girl) had everything as listed in Booking.com. My boyfriend and I had a great time there, despite we stayed in just for one night. Also, despite our delay to check in the hosts were really nice and sympathetic with us. As well, they gave us some recommendations for dinner and made us feel welcome. Also, the boat location was really convenient and easy to find. We had free parking and the location was really safe, as well.
