Reviews for Quinta Da Agra

Review 1:The distance to Ponte de Lima centre is about 2,5 km, so you need a car or bicycle to get around. There is no Wifi in the rooms due to the thick stone walls. So for a good wifi connection you have to go outside.

Review 2:The Quinta has kept many details from the old building (17th century) which gives the place a special atmosphere. The room we had was comfortable with a spacious bathroom. The owner is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good with plenty to choose from.

Review 3:This is a different experience - staying out of town in a rural location. Expect cobwebs and spiders but the apartment would have benefited from a deep clean. The fan in the bathroom was very noisy - needs attention. Although has a TV - only a few local channels. The apartment only had upright dining chairs - a sofa or comfy chairs would be good. The kitchen in the apartment had a very limited selection of crockery or cooking vessels. Suggestion - better signage at road side - not easy to know you have arrived.

Review 4:The owner, Pedro, was very welcoming and proudly showed us round the amazing house that has obviously been his renovation project for many years and he has done a fabulous job (he lives in the house next door). We stayed in the apartment with one large dining kitchen, bathroom with shower and large bedroom with 2 single beds. The towels were plentiful and soft (not always the case in Portugal) and the water hot. Pedro was helpful with good English telling us about the local festval - Feiras Novas (when we were there in Sept - a must if you are there at the right time). Breakfast was ham, cheese, home made cakes and jams as well as bread/croissant etc with very flexible timings. We didn't make use of the pool as had other things to do but it looked good. Parking almost next to your room - plentiful. Wifi good. Setting beautiful. We drove into town but would have been a 30/40 min walk. Ponte de Lima great for a few days visit.

Review 5:Finding Quinta da Agra is quite a chore, and is located out in the country. However, perhaps that is the price of staying at such an out-of-the ordinary property.

Review 6:In the truest sense this is an extra-ordinary property. A 17 th. century farmhouse that has been lovingly and faithfully restored situated in the middle of surrounding vineyards! Every feature from the original wooden ceilings and shutters, the comfortable beds with hand embroidered bedsheets, the antiques added to the ambiance and enhanced our stay. Apart from the neighbor's roosters it could not have been more peaceful. The gracious owner, Pedro, patiently explained the history of the house and each of the features that echoed a prior age. Each morning we were greeted by great coffee, fresh breads, cheese, meats, preserves and cake. We also had access to a modernist building on the property with exercise equipment and a pool. We had the place to ourselves for three days, so I am almost hesitant to write the review and encouraging others to stay at Quinta da Agra. However, if you are after a peaceful stay in an exceptional setting- this is it?

Review 7:Only staying the one night, hopefully one day we can correct the wrong!!.

Review 8:Greeted by the owner after rescuing us as we were near but not quite there! Yes it was through the hole in the wall. The outside of the Quinta hides a wonderful set of rooms, as does the separate "house".thereis a pool/snooker table in the games room/old cellar. Out the rear is a swimming pool, small gym and soon to be utilised massage room, all tastefully done. The rooms have been restored in a similar style to the originals, there is too a common kitchen should be staying a few nights and fancy a cook up. The breakfast was excellent and the presentation was too. Than you Pedro Be sure to get the Gps coordinates.
