Reviews for Hotel Call

Review 1:Very small room indeed. No window to speak of. Staff could not help us with troublesome neighbours who spat on our room door. Breakfast in another hotel. Not worth it for central location in our opinion.

Review 2:Location is central.

Review 3:The location is central, but the narrow streets surrounding it make it noisy with just one or two drunks. The narrow streets also provide hiding for muggers, it was attempted on me.

Review 4:Very Cheap and Clean. Staff are very nice. Great Value Location is a plus and minus

Review 5:Just u have to manage to recognize ur location exactly , it's the only thing I would not even to hotel can solve it !? Because I dropped from the airport in a dark zigzags and not showing anyhow where is ur hotel nor the directions. (This is how I felt it) Anyhow u have to ask the people in shops for that; if u r luckily and not close ;). Suggestion: if the street path marked with recognizable steps on road (zigzag) to show where the hotel. Especially starting from Costa Cafe [if government allow it ]

Review 6:They gave me a room with 1 queen bed and 2 extra beds separated, weird !? Lol Daniel the receptionist when in good more and friendly to handle me a maps and tell me directions and a tips to avoid pickpocketers. ;)

Review 7:The hotel room has not a window, so it is really hot even though the month is December. The furniture is really old, the room is too small.

Review 8:The location of the hotel is just in the middle of Barri Gotic area. It is very close to both Liceu and Jaume metro stations.

Review 9:In the beginning they did not give us a 1room bed but then they quickly fix the situation so everything was all right. The hotel is in a noisy area, but also very central. Only one plug to charge your phone/other phone/computer/so on :)

Review 10:Location Location Location The stuff always ready to help. Room was spacious and quite comfortable.

Review 11:Room was very small with no outlook ( onto brick wall) but was clean. Bit disappointed with room price compared to other hotels in area. No room for our large bags on floor but we managed.

Review 12:Location was brilliant Staff very nice and helpful.

Review 13:Rooms completely unfcomfortable, No window (better to say window open to ventilation opening), tv very small, no noise isolation to other rooms

Review 14:Nothing

Review 15:Stayed here 4 nights and had a great stay. Not really a complaint but some issues might be a problem for others. Small hotel, not much natural light into the room. Located right in the centre of gothic area, which is good for exploring but might be a bit freaky for walking home especially if late at night.

Review 16:Very friendly and helpful staff. Location very central for exploring Barcelona. Very clean hotel. Close to bars and restaurants. 2 min walk to la ramblas.

Review 17:There was a LOT of noise. The bad thing about being central in the Gothic is the partiers come in to their rooms all night long. Not being one of them, I missed some good sleep both nights. Also construction noise and a faint sewer smell on occasion.

Review 18:I couldn't have asked for a better location. I was right in the hub of Gothic section... tapas, cathedrals, shops.

Review 19:Four night stay with little sleep: rooms have paper thin walls, and at night are often very noisy. Very small rooms have no windows at all! Simply an opening to an inner narrow space with glass roof. Aircon did not work. It is not possible to reach this hotel by car!!! Even our taxi could not reach it. We booked to have parking, but there is no parking available, only in the Rambla at some discount. In the end we parked at the airport and had an expensive taxi to the hotel. On the return journey, we dragged our cases to the Plaza de Catalunya and took the airport bus. If you book, you may not be able to cancel at all, which we would probably have done after first night. This is an expensive 'budget' hotel and next time we would stay further out of the centre and take the cheap public transport into town.

Review 20:Perfectly situated right in the middle of the Gothic area of Barcelona. In little side street close to the square with the Barcelona and Catalunia government buildings. Lots of restaurants and shops around. Many attractions available on foot. Nearby public transport. Friendly reception most of the time but very basic services. Rooms clean and have the very basics, with private showerroom. Free WiFi.

Review 21:The rooms are very small. My room had one window to the elevator core and was noise. I was able to hear the snoring of the one in the next room, the people of the house next door and the once above and below. The airconditioning only works for the whole hotel and not per room (event there is a thermostat). So either all rooms are hot or cold. I would not chose the hotel again for the price I paid.

Review 22:The hotel is at a great location, very central and the staff is very nice and helpful.

Review 23:Could have been a few extra touches in the room like a kettle and hair dryer.... Walls very thin....

Review 24:Location, Location, Location! Staff very helpfull and good value for money.

Review 25:TV is small, analog type (I never watched it), room small. Bathroom will not impress your wife/girl friend.

Review 26:No frills, friendly, non-costly place to stay in a great location, right off of las ramblas in the gothic quarter. If you don't want to spent alot of $$ and plan on spending most of your time outside exploring, then I recommend this place. And internet worked fine.

Review 27:Tired and cramped bathrooms. No room for two suitcases open at one time.

Review 28:The reception staff were outstanding. Comfortable beds. Easy to find and close to La Rambla.

Review 29:It is not evident from the info on the website or with the booking that this hotel is impossible to access by car (or even by motorbike legally) so if you can find it (many GPS's won't) you have to leave your vehicle somewhere else & carry any luggage in several hundred meters. I don't believe even a taxi can drop you there. Our problem was poarticularly bad as there were additional festival road closures. It is inaccessable to anyone with walking difficulties & should not be allowed to say it has parking on your website. Hot water was warm, not hot.

Review 30:Room was quite large.

Review 31:Room was tiny, no tea or coffee facilities, only 2 plug sockets, one in bedroom and one in the bathroom. It was a great base as long as you don't intend to spend s lot of time in your room.

Review 32:Location, so close to everything, 2 mins from gothic Cathedral, 2 mins from la Rambla and Liceu metro. 15-20 mins from the Beach. Staff were great, really helpful and friendly. Helped my friend with her Spanish! Gave s great recommendation fur dinner one night!

Review 33:Apart from location, expensive for a one star. Room was an incentive to get up and leave for the day as early as possible and return as late as possible.

Review 34:The staff, except for one man, were useless. Very little English and poor knowledge of Barcelona. One didn't even know there was a Tourist Office nearby! The rooms need painting and new carpets.

Review 35:The location is ideal in the Gothic Quarter, though taxis may not be able to drop off in front of the hotel, if streets are blocked.

Review 36:Nope, nothing I didn't like. Be sure this isn't a luxury hotel, but it was very very good for the price.

Review 37:Clean, comfortable, secure, very convenient and cheap! Was a really pleasant surprise to find this little gem in the heart of the Gothic quarter, at the height of summer at €60 a night for a single person. Top it off they loaned me a kettle and hairdryer on request, allowed me a late check out when I wasn't feeling well, held my bags after I checked out... best value for money I've found by far.

Review 38:Not clean (I encountered a spider also), the room smells really bad, you can hear noises from adjacent rooms (even other people's farts), the room is extremely small and disappointing

Review 39:Location is fair

Review 40:There could be more wardrobe space or bedside cabinets, I think there was space for it but just not furniture

Review 41:great location, very friendly staff quiet hotel, cool room in the hot weather, nice bathroom, comfortable bed, good wi-fi

Review 42:Could use a few more electrical outlets in the room.

Review 43:If you want to be close to the Gothic center, Picasso museum, Las Ramblas and the beach-this is the place.

Review 44:Directions to get there from the website weren't very helpful at all.

Review 45:Front deal were really helpful. Wifi was great, air con was good and location was great right off La Ramba

Review 46:Small hotel in quiet location, just a few yards from the centre of the city. Hotel is basic but has all the facilities you need. Good air con and fast Wifi. Staff very knowledgeable and helpful. I enjoyed my stay at Hotel Call

Review 47:Not enough outlets in the room to charge our phones and I-pad.

Review 48:The staff was fabulous! They took great care of my 81 year old mother when we were delayed.

Review 49:The hotel doesn't offer anything other than a bed and a shower really but you get what you pay for, and why would you want to spend a lot of time in a hotel when you're in a stunning city.

Review 50:The hotel is in a perfect location with everything in easy reach. The staff are very polite and friendly and the rooms are cleaned to an excellent standard.

Review 51:The property was centrally located however it was incredibly difficult to find due to all the little sidestreets. No sort of public transportation went down those streets, so you are left to find a property by foot However once you got comfortable with your surroundings it was then fairly easy to find

Review 52:The accommodations were decent for the price

Review 53:It's a very basic hotel very narrow room no fridge , dryer so that was bit of pain staff was grumpy don't like to talk to customer or guide them with the directions , wifi was good and yeah they do not offer any break fast on other words it's a hotel for a night sleep over for a short stay

Review 54:Location was very good 5 mins from Ramblas

Review 55:I asked the hotel reception for help with a phone call, he preferred me to do it from the room but said if I failed, he would then help.

Review 56:The hotel's location, comfort and cleanliness.

Review 57:Cleanliness of rooms and the ridiculous amount of noise from either other customers or in house staff late at night and extremely early. Plenty of shouting and loud conversation if you don't want to sleep.

Review 58:Counter staff pleasent and service with a smile and a welcome

Review 59:Our bed was so uncomfortable we could barely sleep. We could feel every spring, it felt like we were lying on taunt strings.

Review 60:The staff were professional and friendly.

Review 61:Internet was on and off, no AC or heat even after I complained several times, when taking a shower it goes cold then very hot, our first room smelled like rotten eggs, window did not lock, walls were dirty like they hadn't been painted in 15 years, carpet was old and frayed. I have stayed in many hotels and understand some minor issues but this place is overall bad.

Review 62:The only good thing is the location, however, there are many nice hotels in the area for the same price.

Review 63:The bathroom was quite rundown, had black mold , old taps& broken bath tiles .

Review 64:Location good !quite central and within walking distance to most iconic places.

Review 65:Small room with a useless window, no shampoo in the bathroom, you can hear people talking in the other rooms.

Review 66:Great position, comfortable bed and friendly staff. Room was clean enough.

Review 67:No window/ventilation and dark and noise of lift almost in the room. would be nice just to be able to get a drink or cup of tea or coffee. especially having arrived near midnight with late train.

Review 68:Efficient and helpful staff. Interesting location.

Review 69:Wifi on 4th floor was intermittent and had a weak signal. Windows were not soundproofed from street noises below.

Review 70:Easy walking to all places of interest and metro stations, if required. Not de-luxe accomodation, but perfectly functional bedroom and bathroom. Friendly and helpful staff.

Review 71:No breakfast. No minibar or tea/coffee making equipment in rooms. Single rooms windows are basically air vents in the lift shaft, so noisy & no view. Close the window & despite air con, the room really heats up.

Review 72:Inexpensive hotel in excellent location. Clean rooms, pleasant staff & 24 hour easy access. Wifi stayed on unlike some hotels.

Review 73:Nothing to complain, don't expect the Ritz or a Hostel

Review 74:If you like to be in the rambling alleys of Barcelona you couldn't do much better than be here. A great value hotel with friendly staff and welcoming smile. Close to the cathedral. Sea, Las Rambles and the central square, an ideal base.

Review 75:Really nothing

Review 76:Location - very clean very comfort bed and hit water clean toilets very very good zone kindly streets and small shops but the hotel is in the calm street but near very noisy and busy street , very close too beach

Review 77:bath/shower cubicle was too tight. My elbow hit the shower door often. I am a very petite person. The room was too small, I could not really move around the bed.

Review 78:cleanliness. Location was good for access to shops and cafe's and other local amenities.

Review 79:The elevator was next to my room, and it was a tad noisy at times...ear-plugs always work, don't travel without them?

Review 80:Only 2 mins to the Subway Station...and las Ramblas. And 15 mins to the harbour and beach

Review 81:Nothing to complain about.

Review 82:Location, safe, well-managed, spotlessly clean, good value for money - but you only get what you pay for - no more and no less.

Review 83:Nothing, considering the price.

Review 84:Great price and location, situated on a side-street a couple of minutes from La Rambla. Friendly, courteous staff and clean, basic rooms.

Review 85:Room was close to elevator and it made quite a noise. Overall bad soundproof.

Review 86:Very friendly staff! Excellent location near Jaume I metro station and Las Ramblas.

Review 87:The hotel could use some modernisation. Only one plug in the whole room

Review 88:The location of the hotel is great. Very close to the one of the main streets and perfect for metro stations

Review 89:The hot water supply of the shower is no stable and not water pressure is little bit weak.

Review 90:Good cleaning service. Good & safe location. Hotel is located in center of old town. Walking distance to enjoy old town, subway station, main shopping blvd.

Review 91:Would like to have had shower gel and shampoo in bathroom and maybe tea/coffee facilities in room

Review 92:The staff were so friendly throughout our stay very welcoming and you could walk to shops and restaurants.

Review 93:- The WiFi connection was lost a lot of times. - A little bit cold in the room, but it was OK since it was in late February. However, it might be a problem in December and January. - Scary side alleys at night. For this point I'd search for a better location for my next visit, however if I didn't find a more convenient one, I'd go there again with no problem.

Review 94:- The location of the hotel in the heart of Barcelona made it very easy to reach all the touristic attractions. However, the side alleys leading to the hotel was a little bit scary at night. - The fastest WiFi speed I've ever experienced (the download speed once reached 8 MB/sec.). However, the connection was lost sometimes. - The staff was very friendly and helpful. - The room was very clean and comfortable for one person. - Liceu metro station is about 300 meters away in the middle of La Rambla. - Value for money especially in a location like this. - There was a safe! Which rarely happens in hotels with this price.

Review 95:initially i was in the 4th level and no access of wifi is there. so they let me transfer to 2nd level to enjoy the wifi free access.

Review 96:my room is clean and the location is near everywhere.

Review 97:Location is just perfect - in the heart of Barcelona. Stuff of the hotel is really friendly and helpful. Our room was really small, but clean and nice. No matter it was January it was really hot in the room and there was no window. But we spent all the time in the city, so didn't have many problems with that. We liked it - good conditions for good price!

Review 98:The bathroom and the room was very small.I cant find any empty place for my Luggage.

Review 99:Location is perfect. It is really very near to the la rambla street and the chatedral. Also the staff was very helpfull for everything. They were really kind people.

Review 100:Unfortunately my room was very noisy due there was a window to the elevator hole. Also apparently the walls are very thin because I was able to listen other people in other rooms and also they to me.

Review 101:The location of this hotel is great with a friendly stuff. The quality of the room was also ok.

Review 102:The lack of windows in the bedroom was a downer. The place is very average, it doesn't offer nothing more than a place to sleep.

Review 103:The location is excellent, the staff very friendly and helpful. The room was ok, quiet, WiFi good enough.

Review 104:This is not a criticism of the hotel, but the area round it might not be ideal for a woman on her own; the streets get a bit lonely late at night.

Review 105:3 minutes' walk from the Cathedral, surrounded on all sides by alleyways so it is silent at night, pleasant room with private bathroom for an astonishingly low price. Lovely staff who all spoke excellent English and were very helpful: when the heating in my room went wrong they called an engineer out at 9pm and fixed it. I come to Barcelona a lot on business and from now on will never stay anywhere else!

Review 106:Unable to have visitors in the room...

Review 107:Great location! Close to La Rambla and quite a few tourist attractions. Lots of restaurants and bars within a 500 m radius. I will definitely recommend this hotel to friends...

Review 108:There was no outside window in our room 102

Review 109:If you need somewhere to stay thats cheap and within easy reach of places to go, then this is ideal. Quiet, comfy, cheap

Review 110:There was nothing that made me want to complain as such. Lack of a view, perhaps, but not surprising given it's location.

Review 111:The central location, affordable, basic but good standard. It catered for what i needed.

Review 112:bed is not comfortable, i can easily hear sounds from adjacent rooms, elevator machine noise is clearly heard all the time inside the room

Review 113:Location is very good

Review 114:The pipes are old, water is sometimes coming, sometimes not. It is impossible to get a nice shower.

Review 115:It was in the good location though it is difficult to find the place.

Review 116:Easy to hear through the walls if neighbours talking.

Review 117:Great central location. Value for money if looking for basic accomodation. Staff friendly and helpful.

Review 118:Room basic but does have ALL needed for city break. Who wants to spend time in their room in Barcelona?

Review 119:Fantastic location, 24 hr reception, friendly staff, spotless, comfy bed.

Review 120:Double bed was stiff and unpleasnt. Little bit small room.

Review 121:Good stuff, good location at the gothic quarter, at the first time it was hard to find but later it was ok. Good wifi all around the hotel. Clean bathroom.

Review 122:Rooms were noisy from inside and outside - we could clearly hear the bathroom and wardrobe next door. The internet in the room was poor if not nonexistent. There was no breakfast available in the hotel as advertised.

Review 123:Excellent location

Review 124:Our room was very basic. Just one electric outlet was available, making charging several devices difficult. There was a second in the bathroom, but the light needed to stay on for it to work.

Review 125:Hotel Call is right off La Ramblas, easy walking distance to most sites. It has a discount arrangement with a parking garage that provides affordable and secure parking.

Review 126:A little noisy u hear other rooms. U need to reach it by walking 100m from street since it is located in a walking area.

Review 127:Affordable price. It is in middle of la rambla.very good for 1 or 2 adults not kids. Since hotel in barca will be used only for sleeping it will be the best value u can find.it is in the middle of everything

Review 128:Had to pay $20 for a friend to come upstairs even after them knowing my A.C didn't work well , the tv satellite constantly cut off & wifi signal was weak. You would think they would waive the $20 for the inconvenience ?

Review 129:Location !

Review 130:Very nice room with towel sculptures and chocolates. We were delayed getting in to city but called ahead and late arrival no problem. Next to underground station and central for walking to all areas. Friendly staff.

Review 131:The hotel was hard to find, the walls are very very thin. When the people in the next room have a shower, it sounds like they are in your room!

Review 132:We were given a bigger room than we were excpecting, with a double and two single beds. The room was clean and comfortable and then hotel was in a good location for exploring Barcelona

Review 133:Mattress was too hard, no toilettries, no breakfast, lift broke down and tv was tiny, shower was over non functioning bath and hand held shower nozzle was poorly positioned. Doors werent sealed very well and walls are thin so other guests noises were very audible.

Review 134:Location was excellent, reception staff were polite

Review 135:very very basic, rooms very small and no window, expensive - we paid approx 80 pounds sterling for one night. we advise you to look around as you´ll get a better class of hotel for your money

Review 136:location

Review 137:Wi-Fi signal was fairly poor, my room didn't have a window (which I knew of before I arrived), and my room was next to the elevator which was noisy sometimes.

Review 138:A great location - just next to the Ramble, staff are very friendly, the room was very clean, and the price was great.

Review 139:Room without window and fresh air

Review 140:Clean room, great location, nice staff.

Review 141:The room didn't have any natural light, the bath was too small to take a bath in it.

Review 142:Miła obsługa , pomocnosc

Review 143:All good

Review 144:Good staff and location
