Reviews for SANA Estoril Hotel

Review 1:Rooms and passage ways in desperate need of refurbishment, furniture, bathroom, carpets, walls and curtains.

Review 2:Everything worked and clean. Breakfast adequate.

Review 3:Hotel needs complete refurbishment - especially shower system, hair dryers, toilets etc. new unstained carpets needed everywhere -needs decent mattresses on beds, I like a firm one but these were solid like sleeping on a wood floor.

Review 4:Proximity to station, casino, cafe, beach

Review 5:The room was very outdated. The bed was hard. The pillows were lumpy. Hairdryer was too weak to dry my hair. no tea or coffee facility in the room. Shower was a bath hose and too close to the wall.Breakfast room was very hot. No windows or airconditioning.

Review 6:Extremely helpful staff. Cleaning lady was particularly good.

Review 7:The hotel is right on a major junction so it's noisy if yo want to sit on your balcony. The pool was very poor. We were there mid July, very hot but there were no working umbrellas. At one point they were all broken. So you couldn't lie by the pool for a few hours. Ridiculous!

Review 8:Rooms were clean and comfortable and the breakfast was good ( bring your own coffee). Staff nice and friendly. Nice friendly barman called Philip. Also right beside train direct to Lisbon (40 minutes).

Review 9:The pool area was very uninviting.A very noisy location and neglected part of the hotel. Only one umbrella for shade.

Review 10:The staff were excellent and breakfasts were very good.

Review 11:Beds are very hard, parking was very difficult. Staff told me to park on the pavement outside the hotel and I got a €30 ticket!

Review 12:Staff are very helpful and friendly.

Review 13:— Room. We booked a twin room with an extra bed, however it could hardly accommodate even two guests. The extra bed was in fact an old and uncomfortable chair bed. — Facilities. There was always unpleasant smell in the bathroom; while the bath taps didn’t work properly. And there were only two sockets in the room—kind of nightmare for three guests with numerous smartphones, tablets and laptops. — Décor. Described by the owners as a combination of “classic furnishings with a modern look,” the hotel itself is a time machine to the 70s with its kitschy outdated décor and obsolete equipment. The hotel is in need of renovation.

Review 14:— Location. The hotel is just minutes away from the railway station (to go to Cascais or Lisbon) and the beach. — Staff. Hotel workers were very nice and helpful.

Review 15:The air conditioning in one of our two rooms didn't work. It was reported immediately and I was promised it would be looked at but it never was or if it was it wasn't fixed. I asked three different receptionists and all looked uncomfortable as if they knew there was no way it was getting repaired. I gave up asking because I felt sorry for them and the heat wasn't unbearable. The hotel although very clean is in desperate need of a refurb. It looks like it was last done 30 years ago. The hotel has a massive grand lounge which is completely unused and a small bar which is also hardly used. They'd be better off incorporating one into the other. Finally if I am being picky the bar prices are a bit odd, as if they make them up as they go along. A beer which is 25% bigger than a smaller one costs 50% more so strangely no one has a large beer! There were similar other examples.

Review 16:The staff in the hotel were lovely and very efficient. The rooms are a decent size and the hotel has a grand feel about it. Breakfast was good and the view from the breakfast room was spectacular

Review 17:Staff was brutal and didn't even try to help. Booked a double bed and received 2 twins with no ability to change even knowing another two older ladies wanted two twins. WC was horrible to get in and out of for a thin person! Beds were uncomfortable. TV didn't work. Never would recommend this place.

Review 18:Close to the train station and amenities of the city.

Review 19:Friendly helpful staff particularly at reception/bar where we had more contact with hotel staff. Our room was kept so clean by hotel staff. Air con and Wi Fi excellent.

Review 20:The decor is a bit old, but everything is clean. The shower curtain would benefit from a change.

Review 21:Nice location. 2 of the beaches and the train station are very close. All the Cascais beaches are 4 min away by train. You have 2 nice pillows/ person which is great. The breakfast was nice with good variety and amazing fresh fruits daily. The sea view is worth the extra money.

Review 22:I would have liked a shuttle service to the beach It is not as close as you think with the hills.

Review 23:The staff was superb and the breakfast was really nice . They were always trying to please you The ocean view from our room and terrace was breathtaking ! Definitely worth the difference in money

Review 24:The bed was terrible so hard and the pillows were very poor and so lumpy. Bathroom so dated and difficult to sit on the toilet because bathroom so small worst hotel ever

Review 25:Bathroom was very small. Door had to be closed to use the w.c. The room was small, no where to dine in and only one stool.

Review 26:All the staff without an exception were extremely helpful always smiling and courteous.

Review 27:Despite booking a double room we were given a twin room which was the size of a cupboard. We asked to be moved but was told the hotel was fully booked. I wish we wouldn't have paid in advance maybe they would have moved us then.

Review 28:I needed to work and have the opportunity to enjoy the beach after work so this is the perfect location to do so. Internet in the room means privacy for any virtual meetings and having Cascais within walking distance made dinning a delight.

Review 29:There is nothing stylish about this hotel. It's vet dated and in need of remodelling. My room was on the 6th floor which I think was an after thought when they bully this hotel. The noise and smells that invaded my room was desperately unpleasant.

Review 30:Cleaning lady and elderly batman - happy and professional.

Review 31:noisy as it is on main thoroughfare the room smelled terrible (sewage???) worn and weary decor no availability of double beds (seems as if there are few to no rooms with sea view that have double beds and twin beds could not be moved together all of the above could be lived with but .... worst of all there were cockroaches in the bathroom and i did not want them getting into my suitcases and coming home with me so we left asap

Review 32:lovely view of the ocean from balcony

Review 33:Smells like mold in the room Hairs in the blancket And sheets at my arrival Terrible orange Juice And bad breakfast Mini bar had a chocolate expired at 12/2013 Staff made fun of the clients I could go on..

Review 34:Sea view

Review 35:Very old furniture and bathroom, not cleaned properly. My room was closed to the kitchen so i woke up very early when they were preparing breakfast. Very poor experience. Do not recomend.

Review 36:Friendly staff

Review 37:-The rooms on the aisle opposite to the sea view are very very small. -Only one electrical plug available in the room and located on a difficult access place. You will need to ask for an extension.

Review 38:+Location +View from breakfast room +Private parking

Review 39:The matress was very firm (I initially wondered if there was one). A bit noisy with trains and other guests. Lighting in my room was poor and the layout not conducive to working (insufficient desk space).

Review 40:View from the breakfast room is stunning and the reason I chose this hotel (based on a previous visit). Location relatively convenient for my meeting venue (SW suburbs Lisbon)

Review 41:My only complaint were the pillows. Very soft and flimsy and not comfortable. Also a fair bit of street noise as the hotel was on a very busy main road but we already knew this from previous reviews.

Review 42:The Sana hotel was ideal as a base to go into Lisbon for the day by train. The hotel staff were helpful and very pleasant. Our room on the 5th floor with a sea view was very large and spacious. The breakfast was good, plenty of choice and kept well stocked. The tables were cleared quickly and there were plenty of available tables to sit at. There was parking for our convertible car just outside the hotel door and more parking just over the main road, visible from the hotel. A lovely, relaxing stay.

Review 43:The dining room functional. The food. Could not get a simple boiled egg. Bedroom top floor no view

Review 44:Bar man vv attentive. Wifi available near station price

Review 45:Noise from rooms Bad smell of sewerage first night, had to go to reception twice about it before it was sorted

Review 46:Proximity to beach Deli around the corner

Review 47:Room needs a refurb..I booked a double room on line but got twin beds...didn't move room as room was ok although small, but had great views and balcony.

Review 48:Location was great. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was set in a fabulous room with sea views, breakfast choices ok.

Review 49:The Hotel is in steps from the dreamy beach (in the mornings). It could get crouded later in the day. The rooms are comfortable, the shower is nice. We stayed for two days, cannot say more. Overall it’s a nice place.

Review 50:Fri & Sat night local disco's kept us awake all night! OK if you stay mid week! Room Decor tired. Restaurant only serves breakfast! You must eat out for Lunch and Dinner

Review 51:Reception staff very helpful with regard to local site- seeing, tours and restaurants. Good Breakfast! Nice Beach 300m from hotel, with easy 1.5 k walk into Cascais.

Review 52:Some aspects of the room seem a little bit old. Not a major inconvenient and some work seem scheduled

Review 53:Good location and excellent views Nice building and well decorated hotel Very attentive and efficient Personal: reception, bar, cleaning Good value for money

Review 54:They took money from our card before we arrived and on booking.com it said we would pay at the desk once we arrived. They tried to put us in a very dark, dingy room which smelt awful like damp water and there were dirty marks all over the floor and walls, we went to three different rooms as we wernt impressed and finally the last one was exactly what we expected and was clean. But i can not say that all the rooms are clean in SANA Hotel. Whole hotel needs to be updated, new carpet, paint the walls. We woukd not book SANA Estoril hotel again.

Review 55:The air conditioning was new and worked really well. The view was beautiful (6th floor) Staff were friendly. Cleaner was lovely and very attentive. Breakfast was adequate, nice selection of fresh fruits too.

Review 56:nothing

Review 57:had a lovely week in the sana estoril.hotel was clean, safe, comfortable and good value.great buffet at breakfast time.staff were professional and helpful always.

Review 58:hotel a little dated perhaps but nothing that would spoil a holiday.

Review 59:comfortable,clean,lovely staff especially phillip and the two barstaff(who make the best tea in estoril!!!).location was perfect for transport locally and for beaches and walking.

Review 60:rooms quite small, pool was in shade alot of the day.

Review 61:great location, spotleesly clean, lovely staff great breakfast and within walking distance of all amenities.excellent value .

Review 62:The village was a bit to small, the mattresses were quite firm.

Review 63:Hotel was clean, Nice staff, nice breakfast and nice view from our room and the breakfast room.

Review 64:Rooms are small and shabby, carpet stinky. Hairdryer old and weak. Bathroom seems to have no ventilation. No bars to hang beach towels on. No sound proof. Matresses are so hard, you can hardly sleep. The restaurant is on the 4th floor, so if you have a room on it, you can sleep no longer than the first guests come to have breakfast.

Review 65:Location: 5 minutes to the beach and to the station-easy to go to Lisbon and Sintra. Very good breakfast. Friendly staff.A/c worked properly. The pool is very useful because of the cold ocean water.

Review 66:Shower didn't work correctly, was fixed when I reported it. Bathroom/Toilet was a little cramped

Review 67:Location Staff Helpfulness Pool Condition of the facility Service

Review 68:The noise from the traffic - especially some motorbikers that sounded like a spaceship taking off. A piece of advice; bring earplugs if you stay in a room with seaview! Even though the speedlimit in front of the hotel was 50, everybody took off at full speed!!

Review 69:The staff were very helpful and friendly - the bartender likes to make a joke and gave us some useful information. Very good and tasty breakfast - great seaview and only 10 minutes to the Beach.

Review 70:Cannot think of anything

Review 71:Hotel lovely, breakfast very good, room with balcony lovely, staff very friendly and helpful. Good variety of food for breakfast. Very near beach and train station, train to Lisbon or Cascais very frequent. Would recommend to anyone. Steps up to hotel might not suit some people.

Review 72:The breakfast (fruit from tins, juice is not fresh, baked mushrooms were greasy). There was a lot, but a lot of poor quality.

Review 73:The beach is close by. You have a nice view and there's a good-sized swimming pool.

Review 74:We loved the location and the balcony and view. The staff was kind and attentive. Because it was our honeymoon they surprised us with fruit and a bottle of champagne when we arrived. Very thoughtful. Thank you.

Review 75:The hotel was over-run with 11-14 yr olds for the entire holiday. Youths kicking a football in the dining room (!) playing with the lifts and generally causing mayhem. Even the hotel staff were exasperated. A holiday ruined.

Review 76:Friendly, helpful staff, Excellent location with sea view. Very handy for town and train station with excellent train service.

Review 77:At breakfast lack of fresh fruits and cakes. Bad croissant.

Review 78:Good location, close to Tamariz beach and ocean pools, close to promenade to Cascais, to train station and bus station (to Cascais and Sintra). Big room, although worn out look, confortable and big twin beds, big and nice balcony with furniture, frige in the room and seif.Clean room and bathroom.Breakfast (cold and warm )was ok.Helpfull staff.
