Review 1：The facilities are dated, the bed was very hard, I was shocked by the hotel charging additional fees for a safe, slippers and a bathrobe. I'd rather pay more for a room and feel myself a guest whose comforts are a priority, rather than feel like a "passenger" of a cheap airline.

Review 3：The Vila Gale Estoril deserves a 10/10. For us everything was just perfect. We booked an ocean view room and we received a great one, as you can see in the photos attached. The location is the best you can get. The staff is great. The rooms are big and clean. The food is good and there are plenty of plates you can try. Muito obrigada!

Review 6：The room got stuffy at night time and the air-conditioning was too noisy to have it on during the night. It does seem outdated to charge for a key to the room safe.

Review 8：The breakfast orange 'juice' was watered down squash. I asked for some proper orange juice and was billed €4.50 for one glass! A large brandy in the café next door was €3.00.

Review 9：Spacious room with great sea view. Wifi excellent throughout. Handy for rail link to Lisbon or Cascai. Next door is a restaurant called the Four Seasons (part of the Hotel Palais) Tasting menu for €52 including all wine outstanding value in a setting harking back to old world comfort and service. Go there.

Review 16：- Decor: the hotel is in need of a serious facelift. Dated decor. - Bathroom: renovations needed; hairdryer kept overheating and shutting off while I was drying to blow-dry my hair. - Gym: small, nothing special.

Review 18：-The 2 lifts are on the small side, 4 Adults max, so not good for claustrophobes, especially when it stops and people try to squash in. -There should be a sticker beside the first floor button in the lift to indicate "pool" and also when you step out of the lift there should be directions to the pool also. We were a bit lost on our 1st trip there. -The Pool is only accessible via steep stairs from lobby, or first floor. -The gym attendant wasn't very helpful when I went there, I didn't know what way it worked (if I had to sign in to use equipment etc) greeted with silence and shrugged shoulders when I gave my room number. Felt awkward.

Review 19：What a fab hotel for a holiday! -Breakfast buffet had a huge choice -Poolside food was good value and very tasty. -Wi-Fi was free in our room and it reaches some parts of the pool area also. -Location was perfect, just in front of Estoril train station. €5 taxi from Cascais, We walked to Cascais along the prom every night (beautiful!) our Airport taxi was €35. -Reserving pool beds is not allowed, so usually people politely queue in seats by the pool bar for the next available beds. -Room was large and had good Air Con. -Very clean and friendly staff.

Review 20：Great location, near everywhere I wanted to go close to good transport links to Lisbon & Sintra. It was also close to the beach. The breakfast was really good.

Review 21：Not something really important that I did't like, only that the pool was small for a 4 star hotel and that there was noise from the street, but we closed the doors, it was not really hot and the marvellous view compensates for the noise!

Review 22：Everything was great in this hotel! My husband and I really enjoyed our stay there. First of all, the staff was very polite and helpful with everything we asked, especially the two ladies at the reception desk and Mr Ivan(?..I'm not sure about his name..) at the restaurant. Second, the room was more than excellent. With a great view over the sea, spacious, big bed with big pillows, nice bathroom with bathtub, very comfortable in general. Third, the breakfast. Tasty and various, all we needed to begin the day! Fourth, the place! Near the train station, the beach, the Casino, the club. Just a few steps from everything!

Review 23：When you book your room, make sure to take a room with a view. We got a room on the 2nd floor, not much view there. All the rooms have no balcony, thats a big minus for me. Not enough chairs in the poolarea.

Review 24：The location is great! a few minutes walk away from the train station, beach and the casino. 4 minute taxi drive away from Cascais, or you could just take a walk along the beach to Cascais. The breakfast at the hotel was great, alot of dishes to choose from and they even had sparkling wine as an option. The staff was very nice and helpfull, always smiling greeting everybody. The Wifi = worked in the whole hotel, even poolarea.

Review 40：Room service = bad attitude. Vila Gale staff should have a good & polite attitude when dealing with guests but one waiter clearly did not on a few consecutive occasions. Also concerned about no Security Guards on the premises, especially in this day & age! The front doors automatically open to anyone who approaches them. Sometimes (especially at night) there is no one on the front desk and when walking into an empty foyer towards the elevators, this is a little worrying..

Review 42：Asked reception for a taxi to the bus station and was expecting a metered taxi to arrive as on previous occasions. A fixed price taxi had been arranged by reception without my knowledge and costing significantly more than expected for the short distance involved.

Review 46：I was en Estoril on business trip(conference) for the 2nd time and before stayed at other 4 star in the area, so I have something to compare, this hotel has a lot higher level of everything. Prompt service, close to everything, good value breakfast, very good Wifi speed. I've seen 5 stars with a lot slower internet connection. Breakfast during the week was almost a la carte, the ups would ask me if I wanted anything hot ( scrambled, fried eggs, beans, mushrooms etc.) and when ordered would prepare it fresh for me. During the weekend though it was all buffet. Would stay there again and definetly recommend it to everybody.

Review 47：Carpet was slightly dirty and hairs on the bed when first arrived. Carpets not cleaned the whole time I was there. WiFi was pitiful (admittedly the hotel was extremely full, but I still expect full internet service during a business visit). Was only give 1 towel on 2 of my 5 day stay. Had to ask for another. That said, with minimal effort this hotel can be amazing value for money. Don't be put off, just hope the hotel read this.

Review 48：Location in Estoril relative to business meetings. Food is really good on room service. Breakfast is reasonable, though could be better.

Review 49：wifi in the room gets very slow during rush hours (19:00-24:00). Would be better if there is a wire Internet option in the room. An unpleasant incident of a room-keeping staff knocked and opened the door occurred when the "do not disturb" is hanged on the door knob. I tend to believe there is no bad intention but simply careless action.

Review 61：4 star hotel with no porter to assist with luggage. Requested no smoking room but the corridor smelt of stale smoke. Had to request kettle for room although web site said kettle in all rooms, no easy plug for kettle had to use plug under dressing table. Room not serviced until 4.30 to 5.00 pm and not serviced very well. Had the feeling that the hotel was trying to save costs.

Review 63：I got a nice room with the view of the ocean on the last floor (8). The only complain I have is that there was a source of noise due to an engine, not due to anything inside the room (I have disconnected the refrigerator and the conditioner).

Review 64：seems you have to pay for everything (internet, tv, ironing, etc.). also, the walls were very thin, so i could hear a little bit the conversations of neighboring rooms. also, the bed was a little too firm for my comfort.
